| 1 | A coupled convolutional neural network for small and densely clustered ship detection in SAR images显示文摘Ship detection from synthetic aperture radar(SAR) imagery plays a significant role in global marine surveillance. However, a desirable performance is rarely achieved when detecting small and densely clustered ship targets, and this problem is difficult to solve. Recently, convolutional neural networks(CNNs)have shown strong detection power in computer vision and are flexible in complex background conditions,whereas traditional methods have limited ability. However, CNNs struggle to detect small targets and densely clustered ones that exist widely in many SAR images. To address this problem while preserving the good properties for complex background conditions, we develop a coupled CNN for small and densely clustered SAR ship detection. The proposed method mainly consists of two subnetworks: an exhaustive ship proposal network(ESPN) for ship-like region generation from multiple layers with multiple receptive fields, and an accurate ship discrimination network(ASDN) for false alarm elimination by referring to the context information of each proposal generated by ESPN. The motivation in ESPN is to generate as many ship proposals as possible, and in ASDN, the goal is to obtain the final results accurately. Experiments are evaluated on two data sets. One is collected from 60 wide-swath Sentinel-1 images and the other is from20 GaoF en-3(GF-3) images. Both data sets contain many ships that are small and densely clustered. The quantitative comparison results illustrate the clear improvements of the new method in terms of average precision(AP) and F 1 score by 0.4028 and 0.3045 for the Sentinel-1 data set compared with the multi-step constant false alarm rate(CFAR-MS) method. The values are verified as 0.2033 and 0.1522 for the GF-3 data set. | 2 | Two possible hydrothermal vents in the northern Okinawa Trough显示文摘As the Okinawa Trough is a back-arc basin in early spreading, modern submarine hydrothermal activity and minerallization have many characteristics which have aroused wide attention. Up to now, three well-known hydro-thermal venting areas are all located in the middle part of the trough. During two cruise investigations to map and sample the seafloor, numbers of Calyptogena sp. shells were dredged at two sites in the northern trough with comparatively thicker crust and numerous submarine volcanoes. Based on the fact that Calyptogena sp. is only observed around the hydrothermal vents and lives on hydrothermal activities, it is predicted that there is the possibility of modern hydrothermal activities in the northern part of the trough. In this note, the shell is carefully characterized and the sample locations with possible hydrothermal activity are given. | 3 | Theoretical analysis of a new segmented anchoring style in weakly cemented soft surrounding rock显示文摘According to the tensile failure of rock bolt in weakly cemented soft rock, this paper presents a new segmented anchoring style in order to weaken the cumulative effect of anchoring force associated with the large deformation. Firstly, a segmented mechanical model was established in which free and anchoring section of rock bolt were respectively arranged in different deformation zones. Then, stress and displacement in elastic non-anchoring zone, elastic anchoring zone, elastic sticking zone, softening sticking zone and broken zone were derived respectively based on neural theory and tri-linear strain softening constitutive model of soft rock. Results show that the anchoring effect can be characterized by a supporting parameter b. With its increase, the peak value of tangential stress gradually moves to the roadway wall, and the radial stress significantly increases, which means the decrease of equivalent plastic zone and improvement of confining effect provided by anchorage body. When b increases to 0.72, the equivalent plastic zone disappears, and stresses tend to be the elastic solutions. | 4 | Boron modulating electronic structure of FeN4C to initiate high-efficiency oxygen reduction reaction and high-performance zinc-air battery显示文摘The biggest challenge is to develop a low cost and readily available catalyst to replace expensive commercial Pt/C for efficient electrochemical oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).In this research,closo-[B_(12)H_(12)]^(2−)and 1,10-phenanthroline-iron complexes were introduced into the porous metal-organic framework by impregnation method,and further annealing treatment achieved the successful anchoring of single-atom-Fe in B-doped CN Matrix(FeN4CB).The ORR activity of FeN4CB is comparable to the widely used commercial 20 wt%Pt/C.Where the half-wave potential(E_(1/2))in alkaline medium up to 0.84 V,and even in the face of challenging ORR in acidic medium,the E_(1/2)of ORR driven by FeN4CB is still as high as 0.81 V.When FeN4CB was used as air cathode,the open circuit voltage of Zn-air battery reaches 1.435 V,and the power density and specific capacity are as high as 177 mW cm^(−2)and 800 mAh g_(Zn)^(−1)(theoretical value:820 mAh g_(Zn)^(−1)),respectively.The dazzling point of FeN4CB also appears in the high ORR stability,whether in alkaline or acidic media,E_(1/2)and limiting current density are still close to the initial value after 5000 times cycles.After continuously running the charge-discharge test for 220 h,the charge voltage and discharge voltage of the rechargeable zinc-air battery with FeN4CB as the air cathode maintained the initial state.Density functional theory calculations reveals that introducing B atom to Fe–N4–C can adjust the electronic structure to easily break O=O bond and significantly reduce the energy barrier of the rate-determining step resulting in an improved ORR activity. | Xue Zhao Xue Li Zenghui Bi Yuwen Wang Haibo Zhang Xiaohai Zhou Quan Wang Yingtang Zhou Huaisheng Wang Guangzhi Hu | 2022 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,3: | 6 |
| 5 | Analysis of floral scent emitted from Syringa plants显示文摘Syringa is an important aromatic woody angiosperm that is widely planted in gardens. Its dry flowers are traditionally used to manufacture infusions and spices in China. In this study, the floral volatiles emitted from nine different Syringa species and varieties, viz.S. chinensis, S. protolaciniata, S. oblata, S. oblata var.giraldii, S. oblata var. plena, S. vulgaris ‘Mrs Harry Bickle', S. vulgaris ‘Bright Centennial', S. vulgaris ‘White Spires', and S. vulgaris ‘President Lincoln' were collected by the dynamic headspace technique, and then identified by automated thermal desorption–gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. There were significant differences incomponents and corresponding contents of floral scent emitted from the nine Syringa species and varieties.Among the detected components, b-ocimene exhibited the highest content, accounting for more than 70 % of the floral scent of S. protolaciniata, S. oblata var. giraldii, and S. vulgaris ‘Bright Centennial'. A significant daytime variation of floral scent emitted from S. pekinensis was recorded, especially for benzaldehyde, whose content first increased and then decreased. We studied the scent emitted from the in vitro flowers of S. vulgaris ‘Pres Lincoln'during the process of natural drying. Alcohol compounds were released in the greatest content, and the content of 2-ethyl-1-hexanol accounted for about 40 % of the total release amount. | 10 | The Evidence from Inclusions in Pumices for the Direct Degassing of Volatiles from the Magma to the Hydrothermal Fluids in the Okinawa Trough显示文摘This article presents the evidence in support of the direct magma degassing as the principal mechanism of volatiles releasing into the hydrothermal fluids in the Okinawa Trough, as contrasted to the argument for the hydrothermal stripping of volatiles from the volcanic rocks.\ Laser Raman microprobe and stepped-heating techniques are employed to determine the compositions and contents of the volatiles in pumices in the middle Okinawa Trough. The results show that the volatiles are similar to the gases in the hydrothermal fluids and hydrothermal minerals in composition, the mean percent content of each component and variation trend. This indicates the direct influence of magma degassing on the hydrothermal fluids. In addition, the contents of volatiles in pumices are rather low and do not support the hydrothermal stripping as the main mechanism to enrich the fluids with gases.
