| 1 | Effects of Forest Type and Urbanization on Carbon Storage of Urban Forests in Changchun, Northeast China显示文摘Rapid urbanization has led to dramatic changes in urban forest structures and functions, and consequently affects carbon(C) storage in cities. In this study, field surveys were combined with high resolution images to investigate the variability of C storage of urban forests in Changchun, Northeast China. The main objectives of this study were to quantify the C storage of urban forests in Changchun City, Northeast China and understand the effects of forest type and urbanization on C storage of urban forests. The results showed that the mean C density and the total C storage of urban forests in Changchun were 4.41 kg/m2 and 4.74 × 108 kg, respectively. There were significant differences in C density among urban forest types. Landscape and relaxation forest(LF) had the highest C density with 5.41 kg/m2, while production and management forest(PF) had the lowest C density with 1.46 kg/m2. These differences demonstrate that urban forest type is an important factor needed to be considered when the C storage is accurately estimated. Further findings revealed significant differences in different gradients of urbanization, and the mean C density decreased from the first ring(6.99 kg/m2) to the fourth ring(2.87 kg/m2). The total C storage increased from the first ring to the third ring. These results indicate that C storage by urban forests will be significantly changed during the process of urbanization. | 2 | GRAIN LENGTH AND AWN 1 negatively regulates grain size in rice显示文摘Grain size is an important factor determining yield in rice. Here, we identified a recessive mutant gene, grain length and awn 1 (gla1), which caused a significant increase in grain length and weight, and was associated with long awns. The gla1 mutation was mapped to a single-nucleotide polymorphism in a gene encoding a cytoplasmically-localized mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) phosphatase. Overexpression of GLA1 caused a decrease in grain length, and the GLA1 protein interacted with OsMAPK6. | 6 | Role of Organic Acids in Desorption of Mercury from Contaminated Soils in Eastern Shandong Province,China显示文摘Batch experiments were conducted to study the effects of low-molecular-weight organic acids(LMWOAs) on desorption of Hg from two kinds of soils in the eastern Shandong Province,China.Of all LMWOAs,oxalic and citric acids were chosen as the representatives in this experiment because they are most common in soils.Desorption of Hg increases with the increase of extracting time,until the highest desorption amount at 6-8 h,and then declines.It indicates that timeliness is very important when organic acids are used for phytoremediation in contaminated soils.When the concentrations of organic acids increase from 1.0 mmol/L to 10.0 mmol/L,Hg desorption increases significantly regardless of oxalic or citric acid.Compared with oxalic acid,citric acid is more effective to enhance the desorption of Hg,especially from fluvo-aquic soil.With the increase of initial pH value from 3 to 8,Hg desorption decreases directly in the presence of oxalic acid.However,Hg desorption first decreases,then increases,and eventually decreases again in the presence of citric acid due to the variation of competitive ability between chelating of citric acid and adsorption of soil in different pH values.Citric acid showed greater ability to release Hg from soils than oxalic acid.According to the results of the present study,it is found that the bioavailabilities of heavy metal can be improved with selecting suitable types and concentrations of organic acid amendment and reasonable soil condition. | JIANG Hong ZHANG Lei ZHENG Binghui WANG Guoqiang | 2012 | Chinese Geographical Science2012,22,4: | 4 |
| 7 | Less and shrunken pollen 1(LSP1) encodes a member of the ABC transporter family required for pollen wall development in rice(Oryza sativa L.)显示文摘Pollen fertility is an agronomic trait that strongly influences rice yield. Recent studies have revealed that the development of the pollen wall is required for pollen fertility and is regulated by several genes. However, the mechanisms underlying pollen and pollen wall development in rice remain largely unknown. In the present study, a point mutation in a gene on chromosome 1 was identified that resulted in the production of less and shrunken pollen(LSP) and led to defects in pollen wall formation. This gene was named LSP1 and was found to encode a member of the adenosine triphosphate-binding cassette(ABC)transporter G subfamily, OsABCG3. Two other loss-of-function mutants of LSP1/OsABCG3,generated using CRISPR/Cas9 technology, showed the same male sterile phenotype. The LSP1/OsABCG3 gene showed a spatio-temporal expression pattern in the developing anthers, and is an ortholog of the Arabidopsis genes At ABCG1 and At ABCG16, which play an important role in pollen wall development. Mutation of LSP1/OsABCG3 affected the expression of several genes involved in pollen and pollen wall formation. | 8 | The m6A methylation regulates gonadal sex differentiation in chicken embryo显示文摘Background:As a ubiquitous reversible epigenetic RNA modification,N6-methyladenosine(m6A)plays crucial regulatory roles in multiple biological pathways.However,its functional mechanisms in sex determination and differentiation during gonadal development of chicken embryos are not clear.Therefore,we established a transcriptome-wide m6A map in the female and male chicken left gonads of embryonic day 7(E7)by methylated RNA immunoprecipitation sequencing(MeRIP-seq)to offer insight into the landscape of m6A methylation and investigate the post-transcriptional modification underlying gonadal differentiation.Results:The chicken embryonic gonadal transcriptome was extensively methylated.We found 15,191 and 16,111 m6A peaks in the female and male left gonads,respectively,which were mainly enriched in the coding sequence(CDS)and stop codon.Among these m6A peaks,we identified that 1013 and 751 were hypermethylated in females and males,respectively.These differential peaks covered 281 and 327 genes,such as BMP2,SMAD2,SOX9 and CYP19A1,which were primarily associated with development,morphogenesis and sex differentiation by functional enrichment.Further analysis revealed that the m6A methylation level was positively correlated with gene expression abundance.Furthermore,we found that YTHDC2 could regulate the expression of sex-related genes,especially HEMGN and SOX9,in male mesonephros/gonad mingle cells,which was verified by in vitro experiments,suggesting a regulatory role of m6A methylation in chicken gonad differentiation.Conclusions:This work provided a comprehensive m6A methylation profile of chicken embryonic gonads and revealed YTHDC2 as a key regulator responsible for sex differentiation.Our results contribute to a better understanding of epigenetic factors involved in chicken sex determination and differentiation and to promoting the future development of sex manipulation in poultry industry. | Jianbo Li Xiuan Zhang Xiqiong Wang Congjiao Sun Jiangxia Zheng Junying Li Guoqiang Yi Ning Yang | 2022 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,6: | 4 |

| 11 | Different oxidation routes for lattice oxygen recovery of double-perovskite type oxides LaSrFeCoO6 as oxygen carriers for chemical looping steam methane reforming显示文摘Double-perovskite type oxide LaSrFeCoO_6(LSFCO) was used as oxygen carrier for chemical looping steam methane reforming(CL-SMR) due to its unique structure and reactivity. Two different oxidation routes,steam-oxidation and steam-air-stepwise-oxidation, were applied to investigate the recovery behaviors of the lattice oxygen in the oxygen carrier. The characterizations of the oxide were determined by X-ray diffraction(XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS), hydrogen temperature-programmed reduction(H_2-TPR) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The fresh sample LSFCO exhibits a monocrystalline perovskite structure with cubic symmetry and high crystallinity, except for a little impurity phase due to the antisite defect of Fe/Co disorder. The deconvolution distribution of XPS patterns indicated that Co,and Fe are predominantly in an oxidized state(Fe^(3+) and Fe^(2+)) and(Co^(2+) and Co^(3+)), while O 1s exists at three species of lattice oxygen, chemisorbed oxygen and physical adsorbed oxygen. The double perovskite structure and chemical composition recover to the original state after the steam and air oxidation, while the Co ion cannot incorporate into the double perovskite structure and thus form the CoO just via individual steam oxidation. In light of requirements on horizontal well fracturing technology in China, we have summarized the technological progress in simulation of multi-fracture propagation, horizontal well frac-design, electric-drive fracturing equipment, soluble tools and low-cost downhole materials and factory-like operation. | 16 | Advances in new generation diluted magnetic semiconductors with independent spin and charge doping显示文摘As one branch of spintronics, diluted magnetic semiconductors (DMSs) are extensively investigated due to their fundamental significance and potential application in modern information society. The classical materials (Ga,Mn)As of III-V group based DMSs has been well studied for its high compatibility with the high-mobility semiconductor GaAs. But the Curie temperature in (Ga,Mn)As film is still far below room temperature because the spin & charge doping is bundled to the same element that makes the fabrication very difficult. Alternatively, the discovery of a new generation DMSs with independent spin and charge doping, such as (Ba,K)(Zn,Mn)2As2 (briefly named BZA), attracted considerable attention due to their unique advantages in physical properties and heterojunction fabrication.
