1Induced electric fields and plasmonic interactions between a metallic nanotube and a thin metallic film显示文摘We have numerically simulated the induced electric fields and the plasmonic interactions of a metallic nanotube near a thin metallic film. Our study shows that the energies and intensities of the plasmon resonances depend strongly on the aspect ratio (the ratio of the inner to outer radius) of the nanotube as well as the separation between the center of the nanotube and the upper surface of the metallic film and the thickness of the film. The enhancement of the induced electric field of this system reaches as high as 10 4 orders of magnitude and its field distribution is characterized by waveguide-mode resonance. 2Simulation Research on Stress Intensity Factors of Different Crack Aspect Ratios on Hollow Axles显示文摘Because of the wicked service environment of the high speed train,it is possible that the hollow axle of the train may encounter the foreign object damage and form a sharp notch.Under the fatigue loading a crack can initiate from the notch and propagate to failure.It is noted that the stress intensity factor is the control parameter of the crack propagating,for the purpose of getting the more exact propagation characteristics,the stress intensity factor is studied mainly.The service loads of hollow axles are defined,and the stress distribution of hollow axles is obtained according to the load spectrum.The semi-ellipse crack configuration is defined with three parameters:the aspect ratio,the relative depth and the relative location along the crack front.Quarter point 20-node isoparametric degenerate singular elements are used for the region near the crack tip.The finite element model of crack extension of hollow axle is created,and the crack front is dispersed which can realize orthogonal extension.Based on this the stress intensity factors of crack front were calculated,and the distribution rules of the stress intensity factors of different initial crack shapes are obtained.The conclusions are compared with that of the analytic method and they agree with each other very well,and the calculating results show that there is a close relationship between the stress intensity factor and the initial crack shape.For a round crack the stress intensity factor at the surface point increases faster than the one at the center point with the crack propagation.However,for a narrow crack,the results are in contrast with that of a round one.So,all the cracks with different shapes propagate toward to a similar shape,and they grow at this shape to end.The study may contribute to the crack propagate characteristics research.ZHOU Suxia XIE Jilong 2009Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2009,22,5:2
3Effects of the local environment on plasmonic coupling of metallic nanotube arrays显示文摘We have theoretically investigated the effect of the dielectric core and the dielectric embedding medium separately on the transmission spectra and plasmonic properties of coupled metallic nanotube arrays.It is found that the plasmonic properties of the nanotube arrays are strongly influenced by the presence of the dielectric which induces additional screening charges.We show that instead of one single photonic bandgap for the hollow nanotube arrays placed in air,an additional photonic bandgap arises from the presence of dielectric media in the transmission spectra.Based on the localized nature of the electric field distributions,we also clearly show the presence of the local plasmonic resonant modes that originate from multipolar plasmon polaritons in the cross section of these nanotube arrays,and that a large amount of opposing surface charges are built up in the gap between adjacent nanotubes.LI HongJian FU ShaoLi XIE SuXia XU HaiQing ZHOU Xin WU JinJun 2011Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2011,54,1:2
4DAMAGE TOLERANCE ANALYSIS ON HOLLOW AXLES OF HIGH SPEED MOTOR TRAINS显示文摘According to the rules of UIC515-3,the service loads of the axles arc defined,which include some different loads cases as follows:the static loads;the impact loads resulted from running through the rail joints and unevenness rails;the loads through curves and fi'om braking.Through the calculating and analysis,the stress distribution of the hollow axles is obtained for 200 km/h high speed motor trains used in China.At the same time,the fatigue crack growth of hollow axles is studied,and the initial surface cracks of 2 mm depth caused by hard objects strike or the other causes are discussed.On the basis of the linear elastic fracture mechanics theory,the stress intensity factor of the crack of the geometry transition outside the wheel scat is also studied.Associated with fatigue crack propagation equation and the corresponding crack propagation threshold,the crack propagation characteristics under different shapes are calculated.Then the running distances arc educed with different shapes propagating to the critical length,and the estimation of the residual lives about hollow axles which are the reference values of examine and repair limit of the hollow axle is given.ZHOU Suxia XIE Jilong YANG Guangxue XIAO Nan 2008Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2008,21,5:2
5Repurposing econazole as a pharmacological autophagy inhibitor to treat pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma显示文摘Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC)is characterized by the highest mortality among carcinomas.The pathogenesis of PDAC requires elevated autophagy,inhibition of which using hydroxychloroquine has shown promise.However,current realization is impeded by its suboptimal use and unpredictable toxicity.Attempts to identify novel autophagy-modulating agents from already approved drugs offer a rapid and accessible approach.Here,using a patient-derived organoid model,we performed a comparative analysis of therapeutic responses among various antimalarial/fungal/parasitic/viral agents,through which econazole(ECON),an antifungal compound,emerged as the top candidate.Further testing in cell-line and xenograft models of PDAC validated this activity,which occurred as a direct consequence of dysfunctional autophagy.More specifically,ECON boosted autophagy initiation but blocked lysosome biogenesis.RNA sequencing analysis revealed that this autophagic induction was largely attributed to the altered expression of activation transcription factor 3(ATF3).Increased nuclear import of ATF3 and its transcriptional repression of inhibitor of differentiation-1(ID-1)led to inactivation of the AKT/mammalian target of rapamycin(m TOR)pathway,thus giving rise to autophagosome accumulation in PDAC cells.The magnitude of the increase in autophagosomes was sufficient to elicit ER stress-mediated apoptosis.Furthermore,ECON,as an autophagy inhibitor,exhibited synergistic effects with trametinib on PDAC.This study provides direct preclinical and experimental evidence for the therapeutic efficacy of ECON in PDAC treatment and reveals a mechanism whereby ECON inhibits PDAC growth.Ningna Weng Siyuan Qin Jiayang Liu Xing Huang Jingwen Jiang Li Zhou Zhe Zhang Na Xie Kui Wang Ping Jin Maochao Luo Liyuan Peng Edouard C.Nice Ajay Goel Suxia Han Canhua Huang Qing Zhu 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,7:2
6Relationship between Expression of CEA,E-cadherin and Liver Metastasis in Colorectal Cancer显示文摘OBJECTIVE To investigate the expression of E-cadherin andCEA in serum in colorectal carcinoma and their relationship withliver metastasis.METHODS CEA level was measured post-operativelyby radioimmunoassay of 60 patients with colorectal cancer.Immunohistochemical analysis was used to evaluate theexpression of E-cadherin.RESULTS In liver metastasis group,24 patients (24/26,92.3%)were high level of CEA,but only 9 patients in non-liver metastasisgroup.The difference is significant (P=0.004).Expression ofE-cadherin significantly correlated with differentiation,but wasnot associated with Tstage or N stage.Liver metastatic rate innegative expression was higher than that in positive expression.And the survival analysis showed that time of liver metastasis wassignificant different in two groups (P<0.05).CONCLUSION The expression of CEA in serum can be usedto predict liver mestatasis of colorectal cancer after operation.E-cadherin,associated with tumor differentiation,is also a hopefulindicator for the prediction of liver metastasis in patients withcolorectal cancer.Ning Li Xiaobing Chen Xiangbin Wan Suxia Luo Lili Han Mengqiang Zhou Dengwen Yin Li Zhang 2008Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology2008,5,6:2
7Strong optical transmission through the ellipsoid metal-film nanohole arrays显示文摘The transmission characteristics of a metallic film with subwavelength ellipsoid nanohole arrays are investigated by using the three-dimensional finite-difference time-domain (3D-FDTD) method. The extraordinary transmission is attributed to the collaboration of localized waveguide resonance and surface plasmon resonance. The influences of the lattice constant and the hole shape on the transmission are studied. 9Climate change and water security in the northern slope of the Tianshan Mountains显示文摘Water security is under threat worldwide from climate change. A warming climate would accelerate evaporationand cryosphere melting, leading to reduced water availability and unpredictable water supply. However, thewater crisis in the Northern Slope of Tianshan Mountains(NSTM) faces dual challenges because water demandsforfast-growing urban areas have put heavy pressure on water resources. The mountain-oasis-desert system featuresglacier-fed rivers that sustain intensive water use in the oasis and end in the desert as fragile terminal lakes.The complex balance between water conservation and economic development is subtle. This paper investigateschanges in hydroclimatic variables and water security-related issues on the NSTM. The spatiotemporal variationsin glaciers, climatic variables, rivers, lakes and reservoirs, groundwater, surface water, human water use, andstreamflow were analyzed for the past four decades. The results show that temperature in the NSTM exhibitedan apparent upward trend with a more significant warming rate in the higher altitude regions. Glacier massloss and shrinkage was strong. The average annual streamflow increased from 1980-1989 to 2006–2011 at mosthydrological stations. The monthly dynamics of surface water area showed notable variability at both inter-annual and seasonal scales, revealing the impacts of both natural and anthropogenic drivers on surface wateravailability in the region. The terrestrial water storage anomaly showed a decreasing trend, which might berelated to groundwater pumping for irrigation. Human water use for agriculture and industry grew with theincrease in cultivated land area and gross domestic product (GDP). The increased agricultural water use wasstrongly associated with the expansion of oases. It is unclear whether water availability would remain high underfuture climatic and hydrological uncertainties, posing challenges to water management. In the context of rapidurban growth and climate change, balancing water for humans and nature is vital in achieving the SustainableDevelopment Goals (SDGs) in NSTM. This study provides a baseline understanding of the interplay among water,climate change, and socio-economic development in NSTM. 10The role of corneal endothelium in macular corneal dystrophy development and recurrence显示文摘Macular corneal dystrophy(MCD)is a progressive,bilateral stromal dystrophic disease that arises from mutations in carbohydrate sulfotransferase 6(CHST6).Corneal transplantation is the ultimate therapeutic solution for MCD patients.Unfortunately,postoperative recurrence remains a significant challenge.We conducted a retrospective review of a clinical cohort comprising 102 MCD patients with 124 eyes that underwent either penetrating keratoplasty(PKP)or deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty(DALK).Our results revealed that the recurrence rate was nearly three times higher in the DALK group(39.13%,9/23 eyes)compared with the PKP group(10.89%,11/101 eyes),suggesting that surgical replacement of the corneal endothelium for treating MCD is advisable to prevent postoperative recurrence.Our experimental data confirmed the robust m RNA and protein expression of CHST6 in human corneal endothelium and the rodent homolog CHST5 in mouse endothelium.Selective knockdown of wild-type Chst5 in mouse corneal endothelium(AC^(siChst5)),but not in the corneal stroma,induced experimental MCD with similar extracellular matrix synthesis impairments and corneal thinning as observed in MCD patients.Mice carrying Chst5 point mutation also recapitulated clinical phenotypes of MCD,along with corneal endothelial abnormalities.Intracameral injection of wild-type Chst5 rescued the corneal impairments in AC^(siChst5)mice and retarded the disease progression in Chst5 mutant mice.Overall,our study provides new mechanistic insights and therapeutic approaches for MCD treatment by highlighting the role of corneal endothelium in MCD development.Bi-Ning Zhang Benxiang Qi Chunxiao Dong Bin Zhang Jun Cheng Xin Wang Suxia Li Xiaoyun Zhuang Shijiu Chen Haoyun Duan Dewei Li Sujie Zhu Guoyun Li Yihai Cao Qingjun Zhou Lixin Xie 2024Science China(Life Sciences)2024,67,2:0
11Enhanced mixing state of black carbon with nitrate in single particles during haze periods in Zhengzhou, China显示文摘Black carbon(BC)plays an important role in air quality and climate change,which is closely associated with its mixing state and chemical compositions.In this work the mixing state of BC-containing single particles was investigated to explore the evolution process of ambient BC particles using a single particle aerosol mass spectrometer(SPAMS)in March 2018 in Zhengzhou,China.The BC-containing particles accounted for 61.4%of total detected ambient single particles and were classified into five types including BC-nitrate(BC-N,52.3%)as the most abundant species,followed by BC-nitrate-sulfate(BC-NS,22.4%),BCOC(16.8%),BC-fresh(BC-F,4.5%)and BC-sulfate particles(BC-S,4.0%).With enhancement of the ambient nitrate concentration,the relative peak area(RPA)of nitrate in BC-N and BC–NS particles both increased,yet only the number fraction(N_(f))of BC–N particles increased while the N_(f) of BC-NS particles decreased,suggesting that the enhanced mixing state of BC with nitrate was mainly due to the increase in the ambient nitrate mass concentration.In addition,the Nfof BC-N decreased from 65.3%to 28.4%as the absorbing Angstrom exponents(AAE)of e BC increased from 0.75 to 1.45,which indicated the reduction of light absorption ability of aged BC particles with the enhanced formation of BC-N particles.The results of this work indicated a change in the mixing state of BC particles due to the dominance of nitrate in PM_(2.5),which also influenced the optical properties of aged BC particles.Qianni Zhou Chunlei Cheng Suxia Yang Minghao Yuan Jingjing Meng Haifeng Gong Qien Zhong Yao Zhang Yutong Xie Zhen Zhou Mei Li 2022Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,1:0
12Mixing states and secondary formation processes of organic nitrogen-containing single particles in Guangzhou,China显示文摘Organic nitrogen(ON)compounds play a significant role in the light absorption of brown carbon and the formation of organic aerosols,however,the mixing state,secondary formation processes,and influencing factors of ON compounds are still unclear.This paper reports on the mixing state of ON-containing particles based on measurements obtained using a highperformance single particle aerosol mass spectrometer in January 2020 in Guangzhou.The ON-containing particles accounted for 21% of the total detected single particles,and the particle count and number fraction of the ON-containing particles were two times higher at night than during the day.The prominent increase in the content of ON-containing particles with the enhancement of NO_xmainly occurred at night,and accompanied by high relative humidity and nitrate,which were associated with heterogeneous reactions between organics and gaseous NO_(x)and/or NO_(3)radical.The synchronous decreases in ON-containing particles and the mass absorption coefficient of water-soluble extracts at 365 nm in the afternoon may be associated with photo-bleaching of the ON species in the particles.In addition,the positive matrix factorization analysis found five factors dominated the formation processes of ON particles,and the nitrate factor(33%)mainly contributed to the production of ON particles at night.The results of this study provide unique insights into the mixing states and secondary formation processes of the ON-containing particles.Lijun Yun Chunlei Cheng Suxia Yang Zaihua Wang Mei Li Qi En Zhong LiyuanMao Sulin Liu Xiaoya Cheng Duanying Chen Fan Yang Zhen Zhou 2024Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,4:0
