For the optimization in the fractional Fourier domain, an algorithm based on Quasi-Newton method is proposed which consists of two steps of searching, leading to a reduction in computation without loss of accuracy. And for multicomponent signals, we further propose a signal separation technique in the fractional Fourier domain which can effectively suppress the interferences on the detection of the weak components brought by the stronger components. | 4 | Strongly peraluminous granites of Mesozoic in Eastern Nanling Range, southern China: Petrogenesis and implications for tectonics显示文摘The strongly peraluminous granites (SPGs) of Eastern Nanling Range (ENR) are a characteristic of all bearing highly aluminous minerals, such as muscovite±Al-rich biotite±tourmaline±garnet, and lack of cordierite. In respect of petrography, geochemistry, Nd isotope, and single grain zircon U-Pb dating, the representative granite bodies of them are studied. The research shows that these granites were emplaced in two stages, namely 228-225 Ma BP and J2-3 159-156 Ma BP, belonging to Indosinian and early Yanshanian periods, respectively, and they have low εNd(t) values (-10.6--11.1), high A/CNK, Rb/Sr ratios and tDM values (1887-1817 Ma), and REE's tetrad effect (TE1, 3=1.13-1.34). In comparison with related geology, petrology and chronology of granites in adjacent regions, it is suggested that Indosinian SPGs of ENR formed in the circumstance of post-collisional extension 20 Ma after the major collision of Indosinian Movement (258-243 Ma BP) in Indo-China Peninsula, and early Yanshanian SPGs formed in the background of back-arc extension setting controlled by paleo-Pacific tectonic domain, and J1, the interval of two stages, is the interim from Tethyan to Pacific tectonic domains in South China. | 5 | Antitumor effect of matrine in human hepatoma G2 cells by inducing apoptosis and autophagy显示文摘AIM: To study the antitumor effect of matrine in human hepatoma G2 (HepG2) cells and its molecular mechanism involved in antineoplastic activities. METHODS: 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay was used to detect viability of HepG2 cells. The effect of matrine on cell cycle was detected by flow cytometry. Annexin-V-FITC/PI double staining assay was used to detect cellular apoptosis. Cellular morphological changes were observed under an inverted phase contrast microscope. Transmission electron microscopy was performed to further examine ultrastructural structure of the cells treatedwith matrine. Monodansylcadaverine (MDC) staining was used to detect autophagy. Whether autophagy is blocked by 3-methyladenine (3-MA), an autophagy inhibitor, was evaluated. Expression levels of Bax and Beclin 1 in HepG2 cells were measured by real-time quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).RESULTS: Matrine signif icantly inhibited the proliferation of HepG2 cells in a dose- and time-dependent manner, and induced G1-phase cell cycle arrest and apoptosis of HepG2 cells in a dose-dependent manner. The total apoptosis rate was 0.14% for HepG2 cells not treated with matrine. In contrast, the apoptosis rate was 28.91%, 34.36% and 38.80%, respectively, for HepG2 cells treated with matrine at the concentration of 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 mg/mL. The remarkable morphological changes were observed under an inverted phase contrast microscope. Abundant cytoplasmic vacuoles with varying sizes were observed in HepG2 cells treated with matrine. Furthermore, vacuolization in cytoplasm progressively became larger and denser when the concentration of matrine was increased. Electron microscopy demonstrated formation of abundant autophagic vacuoles in HepG2 cells after matrine treatment. When the specif ic autophagic inhibitor, 3-MA, was applied, the number of autophagic vacuoles greatly decreased. MDC staining showed that the fluorescent density was higher and the number of MDC-labeled particles in HepG2 cells was greater in matrine treatment group than in control group. Fewer autophagic vacuoles were observed in the combined 3-MA and matrine treatment group when 3-MA was added before matrine treatment, indicating that both autophagy and apoptosis are activated when matrine-induced death of hepatoma G2 cells occurs. Real-time quantitative RT-PCR revealed that the expression levels of Bax gene, an apoptosis-related molecule, and Beclin 1 gene which plays a key role in autophagy were higher in matrine treatment group than in control group, indicating that Beclin 1 is involved in matrineinduced autophagy and the pro-apoptotic mechanismof matrine may be related to its upregulation of Bax expression. | 7 | Failure mechanism and coupled static-dynamic loading theory in deep hard rock mining: A review显示文摘Rock failure phenomena,such as rockburst,slabbing(or spalling) and zonal disintegration,related to deep underground excavation of hard rocks are frequently reported and pose a great threat to deep mining.Currently,the explanation for these failure phenomena using existing dynamic or static rock mechanics theory is not straightforward.In this study,new theory and testing method for deep underground rock mass under coupled static-dynamic loading are introduced.Two types of coupled loading modes,i.e.'critical static stress + slight disturbance' and 'elastic static stress + impact disturbance',are proposed,and associated test devices are developed.Rockburst phenomena of hard rocks under coupled static-dynamic loading are successfully reproduced in the laboratory,and the rockburst mechanism and related criteria are demonstrated.The results of true triaxial unloading compression tests on granite and red sandstone indicate that the unloading can induce slabbing when the confining pressure exceeds a certain threshold,and the slabbing failure strength is lower than the shear failure strength according to the conventional Mohr-Column criterion.Numerical results indicate that the rock unloading failure response under different in situ stresses and unloading rates can be characterized by an equivalent strain energy density.In addition,we present a new microseismic source location method without premeasuring the sound wave velocity in rock mass,which can efficiently and accurately locate the rock failure in hard rock mines.Also,a new idea for deep hard rock mining using a non-explosive continuous mining method is briefly introduced. | Xibing Li Fengqiang Gong Ming Tao Longjun Dong Kun Du Chunde Ma Zilong Zhou Tubing Yin | 2017 | Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2017,9,4: | 68 |

It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. | 9 | Chinese expert consensus on cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy for peritoneal malignancies显示文摘Locoregional spread of abdominopelvic malignant tumors frequently results in peritoneal carcinomatosis(PC). The prognosis of PC patients treated by conventional systemic chemotherapy is poor, with a median survival of < 6 mo. However, over the past three decades, an integrated treatment strategy of cytoreductive surgery(CRS) + hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy(HIPEC) has been developed by the pioneering oncologists, with proved efficacy and safety in selected patients. Supported by several lines of clinical evidence from phases Ⅰ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ clinical trials, CRS + HIPEC has been regarded as the standard treatment for selected patients with PC in many established cancer centers worldwide. In China, an expert consensus on CRS + HIPEC has been reached by the leading surgical and medical oncologists, under the framework of the China Anti-Cancer Association. | 10 | Puerarin protects rat brain against ischemia/reperfusion injury by suppressing autophagy via the AMPK-mT OR-ULK1 signaling pathway显示文摘Puerarin suppresses autophagy to alleviate cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury, and accumulating evidence indicates that the AMPKm TOR signaling pathway regulates the activation of the autophagy pathway through the coordinated phosphorylation of ULK1. In this study, we investigated the mechanisms underlying the neuroprotective effect of puerarin and its role in modulating autophagy via the AMPK-m TOR-ULK1 signaling pathway in the rat middle cerebral artery occlusion model of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury. Rats were intraperitoneally injected with puerarin, 50 or 100 mg/kg, daily for 7 days. Then, 30 minutes after the final administration, rats were subjected to transient middle cerebral artery occlusion for 90 minutes. Then, after 24 hours of reperfusion, the Longa score and infarct volume were evaluated in each group. Autophagosome formation was observed by transmission electron microscopy. LC3, Beclin-1 p62, AMPK, m TOR and ULK1 protein expression levels were examined by immunofluorescence and western blot assay. Puerarin substantially reduced the Longa score and infarct volume, and it lessened autophagosome formation in the hippocampal CA1 area following cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury in a dose-dependent manner. Pretreatment with puerarin(50 or 100 mg/kg) reduced Beclin-1 expression and the LC3-II/LC3-I ratio, as well as p-AMPK and p S317-ULK1 levels. In comparison, it increased p62 expression. Furthermore, puerarin at 100 mg/kg dramatically increased the levels of p-m TOR and p S757-ULK1 in the hippocampus on the ischemic side. Our findings suggest that puerarin alleviates autophagy by activating the APMK-m TOR-ULK1 signaling pathway. | 15 | Mineralogical and geochemical features of sulfide chimneys from the 49°39′E hydrothermal field on the Southwest Indian Ridge and their geological inferences显示文摘During January–May in 2007,the Chinese research cruise DY115-19 discovered an active hydrothermal field at 49°39′E/37°47′S on the ultraslow spreading Southwest Indian Ridge (SWIR).This was also the first active hydrothermal field found along an ultraslow-spreading ridge.We analyzed mineralogical,textural and geochemical compositions of the sulfide chimneys obtained from the 49°39′E field.Chimney samples show a concentric mineral zone around the fluid channel.The mineral assemblages of the interiors consist mainly of chalcopyrite,with pyrite and sphalerite as minor constitunets.In the intermediate portion,pyrite becomes the dominant mineral,with chalcopyrite and sphalerite as minor constitunets.For the outer wall,the majority of minerals are pyrite and sphalerite,with few chalcopyrite.Towards the outer margin of the chimney wall,the mineral grains become small and irregular in shape gradually,while minerals within interstices are abundant.These features are similar to those chimney edifices found on the East Pacific Rise and Mid-Atlantic Ridge.The average contents of Cu,Fe and Zn in our chimney samples were 2.83 wt%,45.6 wt% and 3.28 wt%,respectively.The average Au and Ag contents were up to 2.0 ppm and 70.2 ppm respectively,higher than the massive sulfides from most hydrothermal fields along mid-ocean ridge.The rare earth elements geochemistry of the sulfide chimneys show a pattern distinctive from the sulfides recovered from typical hydrothermal fields along sedimentstarved mid-ocean ridge,with the enrichment of light rare earth elements but the weak,mostly negative,Eu anomaly.This is attributed to the distinct mineralization environment or fluid compositions in this area. | TAO ChunHui LI HuaiMing HUANG Wei HAN XiQiu WU GuangHai SU Xin ZHOU Ning LIN Jian HE YongHua ZHOU JianPing | 2011 | Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,26: | 34 |

| 17 | Analysis of factors associated with disease outcomes in hospitalized patients with 2019 novel coronavirus disease显示文摘Background Since early December 2019,the 2019 novel coronavirus disease(COVID-19)has caused pneumonia epidemic in Wuhan,Hubei province of China.This study aimed to investigate the factors affecting the progression of pneumonia in COVID-19 patients.Associated results will be used to evaluate the prognosis and to find the optimal treatment regimens for COVID-19 pneumonia.Methods Patients tested positive for the COVID-19 based on nucleic acid detection were included in this study.Patients were admitted to 3 tertiary hospitals in Wuhan between December 30,2019,and January 15,2020.Individual data,laboratory indices,imaging characteristics,and clinical data were collected,and statistical analysis was performed.Based on clinical typing results,the patients were divided into a progression group or an improvement/stabilization group.Continuous variables were analyzed using independent samples t-test or Mann-Whitney U test.Categorical variables were analyzed using Chi-squared test or Fisher’s exact test.Logistic regression analysis was performed to explore the risk factors for disease progression.Results Seventy-eight patients with COVID-19-induced pneumonia met the inclusion criteria and were included in this study.Efficacy evaluation at 2 weeks after hospitalization indicated that 11 patients(14.1%)had deteriorated,and 67 patients(85.9%)had improved/stabilized.The patients in the progression group were significantly older than those in the disease improvement/stabilization group(66[51,70]vs.37[32,41]years,U=4.932,P=0.001).The progression group had a significantly higher proportion of patients with a history of smoking than the improvement/stabilization group(27.3%vs.3.0%,χ^2=9.291,P=0.018).For all the 78 patients,fever was the most common initial symptom,and the maximum body temperature at admission was significantly higher in the progression group than in the improvement/stabilization group(38.2[37.8,38.6]vs.37.5[37.0,38.4]°C,U=2.057,P=0.027).Moreover,the proportion of patients with respiratory failure(54.5%vs.20.9%,χ^2=5.611,P=0.028)and respiratory rate(34[18,48]vs.24[16,60]breaths/min,U=4.030,P=0.004)were significantly higher in the progression group than in the improvement/stabilization group.C-reactive protein was significantly elevated in the progression group compared to the improvement/stabilization group(38.9[14.3,64.8]vs.10.6[1.9,33.1]mg/L,U=1.315,P=0.024).Albumin was significantly lower in the progression group than in the improvement/stabilization group(36.62±6.60 vs.41.27±4.55 g/L,U=2.843,P=0.006).Patients in the progression group were more likely to receive high-level respiratory support than in the improvement/stabilization group(χ^2=16.01,P=0.001).Multivariate logistic analysis indicated that age(odds ratio[OR],8.546;95%confidence interval[CI]:1.628-44.864;P=0.011),history of smoking(OR,14.285;95%CI:1.577-25.000;P=0.018),maximum body temperature at admission(OR,8.999;95%CI:1.036-78.147,P=0.046),respiratory failure(OR,8.772,95%CI:1.942-40.000;P=0.016),albumin(OR,7.353,95%CI:1.098-50.000;P=0.003),and C-reactive protein(OR,10.530;95%CI:1.224-34.701,P=0.028)were risk factors for disease progression.Conclusions Several factors that led to the progression of COVID-19 pneumonia were identified,including age,history of smoking,maximum body temperature at admission,respiratory failure,albumin,and C-reactive protein.These results can be used to further enhance the ability of management of COVID-19 pneumonia. | Wei Liu Zhao-Wu Tao Lei Wang Ming-Li Yuan Kui Liu Ling Zhou Shuang Wei Yan Deng Jing Liu Hui-Guo Liu Ming Yang Yi Hu | 2020 | Chinese Medical Journal2020,,9: | 31 |
| 18 | Oral health status in Sichuan Province: findings from the oral health survey of Sichuan, 2015–2016显示文摘To investigate oral health status in the residents of Sichuan Province, southwest China, a cross-sectional study was performed using the latest Oral Health Survey Basic Methods recommended by the World Health Organization. A multistage stratified random cluster-sampling method was used to enroll participants from the following three groups: children aged 3–5 years,adolescents aged 12 years, and people aged 65–74 years. In these three groups, the mean numbers of teeth that were affected by caries were 3.28, 0.86 and 5.13, respectively, resulting in a prevalence of 63.47%, 37.20% and 83.20%, respectively.Relative to the high rate of decayed teeth, the prevalence of fillings was very low in all age groups(0.97%, 7.24% and 5.43%,respectively). In the 12-year-old adolescent group, only 3.61% had good pit and fissure sealing. In addition, the rate of dental fluorosis was 24.80%, and the Community Fluorosis Index value was 0.39. In the elder group, the community periodontal index was2.92. The prevalence in the elderly of having lost at least one tooth was 75.54%. Additionally, 4.44% of these participants were edentulous. The incidence of dental prosthesis was 51.75%, the proportion with a removable partial denture, a fixed denture, full dentures, dental implants and an informal fixed bridge was 21.59%, 11.45%, 4.64%, 0 and 16.67%, respectively. In this study,8.2% of the elderly participants were affected by different types of oral mucosal lesions. Among such lesions, recurrent aphthous ulcers were most prevalent(2.69%) and oral lichen planuses were second(1.6%). The conclusion presented in this survey is that oral diseases, especially dental caries and periodontal disease, are frequent and common in Sichuan province, China. | 19 | The spatial distribution of forest carbon sinks and sources in China显示文摘Forest ecosystems play an important role in the global carbon cycle.The implementation of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change(UNFCCC) and the Kyoto Protocol has made the study of forest ecosystem carbon cycling a hot topic of scientific research globally.This paper utilized Chinese national forest inventory data sets(for the periods 1984-1988 and 1999-2003),the vegetation map of China(1:1000000),and the spatially explicit net primary productivity(NPP) data sets derived with the remote sensing-based light use efficiency model(CASA model).We quantitatively estimated the spatial distribution of carbon sinks and sources of forest vegetation(with a resolution of 1 km) using the spatial downscaling technique.During the period 1984 to 2003 the forest vegetation in China represented a carbon sink.The total storage of carbon increased by 0.77 PgC,with a mean of 51.0TgCa 1.The total carbon sink was 0.88PgC and carbon source was 0.11 PgC during the study period.The carbon sink and carbon source of forest vegetation in China showed a clear spatial distribution pattern.Carbon sinks were mainly located in subtropical and temperate regions,with the highest values in Hainan Province,Hengduan mountain ranges,Changbai mountain ranges in Jilin,and south and northwest of the Da Hinggan Mountains;carbon sources were mainly distributed from the northeast to southwestern areas in China,with the highest values mainly concentrated in southern Yunnan Province,central Sichuan Basin,and northern Da Hinggan Mountains.Increase in NPP was strongly correlated with carbon sink strength.The regression model showed that more than 80% of the variation in the modeled carbon sinks in Northeast,Northern,Northwest and Southern China were explained by the variation in NPP increase.There was a strong relationship between carbon sink strength and forest stand age. | LIU ShuangNa ZHOU Tao WEI LinYan SHU Yang | 2012 | Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,14: | 27 |
| 20 | Different histological subtypes of parotid gland tumors: CT findings and diagnostic strategy显示文摘AIM:To present computed tomography(CT) findings of different histological subtypes of parotid gland masses in detail and to establish diagnostic strategy.METHODS:From January 2009 to November 2011,56 patients were collected through the histopathology and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems records,which revealed 5 basal cell adenoma(BCA),16 pleomorphic adenoma(PA),25 Warthin's tumor(War-T),3 Kimura's disease(KD) and 7 parotid carcinoma(PCa) cases.All the CT images were retrospectively analyzed by two radiologists in consensus,based on their description of morphology(location,number,size,margin and fibrous capsule) and enhancement patterns of masses.In addition,the diagnostic efficiency of diagnostic strategy is tested.RESULTS:War-T and BCA patients' mean age was 59.9 ± 12.6 years and 58.4 ± 18.2 years;the significant difference was seen in War-T vs PA and BCA vs PA.About 40% of War-Ts presented with bilateral multifocal lesions,a higher ratio than others.Seventy two percent of War-Ts were limited to the superficial lobe,followed by BCA 60% and PA 40%.Vessel facing sign and enlarged lymph nodes were both frequent in War-T,which respectively accounts for 84% and 76% of cases.Rapid contrast enhancement and decreases were unique for War-T.BCA and PA showed obvious delayed enhancement.The diagnostic strategy of parotid gland tumor had a good diagnostic efficiency,with high accuracy,sensitivity and specificity.CONCLUSION:Determination of the histological subtypes of parotid gland masses might be possible based on CT findings and clinical data.A diagnostic strategy with high diagnostic efficiency was established. | Zhi-Feng Xu Fang Yong Tian Yu Ying-Yu Chen Qiang Gao Tao Zhou Ai-Zhen Pan Ren-Hua Wu | 2013 | World Journal of Radiology2013,5,8: | 25 |
