Damage evolution and dynamic response of cement asphalt mortar layer of slab track under vehicle dynamic load显示文摘The damage evolution and dynamic performance of a cement asphalt(CA)mortar layer of slab track subjected to vehicle dynamic load is investigated in this paper.Initially,a statistical damage constitutive model for the CA mortar layer is developed using continuous damage mechanics and probability theory. In this model, the strength of the CA mortar elements is treated as a random variable, which follows the Weibull distribution. The inclusion of strain rate dependence affords considering its influence on the damage development and the transition between viscosity and elasticity.Comparisons with experimental data support the reliability of the model.A three-dimensional finite element(FE)model of a slab track is then created with the commercial software ABAQUS,where the devised model for the CA mortar is implemented as a user-defined material subroutine. Finally,a vertical vehicle model is coupled with the FE model of the slab track, through the wheel-rail contact forces, based on the nonlinear Hertzian contact theory. The evolution of the damage and of the dynamic performance of the CA mortar layer with various initial damage is investigated under the train and track interaction. The analysis indicates that the proposed model is capable of predicting the damage evolution of the CA mortar layer exposed to vehicle dynamic load. The dynamic compressive strain, the strain rate, and the induced damage increase significantly with an increase in the initial damage, whereas the dynamic compressive stress exhibits a sharp decrease with the increasing initial damage. Also,it is found that the strain rate dependence significantly influences the damage evolution and the dynamic behavior of the CA mortar layer.ZHU ShengYang FU Qiang CAI ChengBiao SPANOS Pol D 2014Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,10:19
Humic acid and metal ions accelerating the dechlorination of 4-chlorobiphenyl by nanoscale zero-valent iron显示文摘Transformation of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) by zero-valent iron represents one of the latest innovative technologies for environmental remediation. The dechlorination of 4-chlorobiphenyl (4-ClBP) by nanoscale zero-valent iron (NZVI) in the presence of humic acid or metal ions was investigated. The results showed that the dechlorination of 4-ClBP by NZVI increased with decreased solution pH. When the initial pH value was 4.0, 5.5, 6.8, and 9.0, the dechlorination efficiencies of 4-ClBP after 48 hr were 53.8%, 47.8%, 35.7%, and 35.6%, respectively. The presence of humic acid inhibited the reduction of 4-ClBP in the first 4 hr, and then significantly accelerated the dechlorination by reaching 86.3% in 48 hr. Divalent metal ions, Co 2+ , Cu 2+ , and Ni 2+ , were reduced and formed bimetals with NZVI, thereby enhanced the dechlorination of 4-ClBP. The dechlorination percentages of 4-ClBP in the presence of 0.1 mmol/L Co 2+ , Cu 2+ and Ni 2+ were 66.1%, 66.0% and 64.6% in 48 hr, and then increased to 67.9%, 71.3% and 73.5%, after 96 hr respectively. The dechlorination kinetics of 4-ClBP by the NZVI in all cases followed pseudo-first order model. The results provide a basis for better understanding of the dechlorination mechanisms of PCBs in real environment.Yu Wang Dongmei Zhou Yujun Wang Xiangdong Zhu Shengyang Jin 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,8:5
Mechanical characteristic variation of ballastless track in highspeed railway:effect of train–track interaction and environment loads显示文摘Due to the fact that ballastless tracks in highspeed railways are not only subjected to repeated train–track dynamic interaction loads, but also suffer from complex environmental loads, the fundamental understanding of mechanical performance of ballastless tracks under sophisticated service conditions is an increasingly demanding and challenging issue in high-speed railway networks. This work aims to reveal the effect of train–track interaction and environment loads on the mechanical characteristic variation of ballastless tracks in high-speed railways, particularly focusing on the typical interface damage evolution between track layers. To this end,a finite element model of a double-block ballastless track involving the cohesive zone model for the track interface is first established to analyze the mechanical properties of the track interface under the loading–unloading processes of the negative temperature gradient load(TGL)followed by the same cycle of the positive TGL.Subsequently, the effect of wheel–rail longitudinal interactions on the nonlinear dynamic characteristics of the track interface is investigated by using a vehicle-slab track vertical-longitudinal coupled dynamics model. Finally, the influence of dynamic water pressure induced by vehicle dynamic load on the mechanical characteristics and damage evolution of the track interface is elucidated using a fluid–solid coupling method. Results show that the loading history of the positive and negative TGLs has a great impact on the nonlinear development and distribution of the track interface stress and damage;the interface damage could be induced by the wheel–rail longitudinal vibrations at a high vehicle running speed owing to the dynamic amplification effect caused by short wave irregularities;the vehicle dynamic load could produce considerable water pressure that presents nonlinear spatial–temporal characteristics at the track interface, which would lead to the interface failure under a certain condition due to the coupled dynamic effect of vehicle load and water pressure.Shengyang Zhu Jun Luo Mingze Wang Chengbiao Cai 2020Railway Engineering Science2020,28,4:3
N/S co-doped carbon nanosheet bundles as high-capacity anode for potassium-ion battery显示文摘Potassium-ion batteries(PIBs)are of academic and economic significance, but still limited by the lack of highly active electrode materials for de-/intercalation of large-radius K ions.Herein,an interconnected nitrogen/sulfur co-doped carbon nanosheep bundle(N/S-CSB)was proposed as the potassium ions storage material. The rich co-doping of nitrogen/sulfur of N/S-CNB with three-dimensional hierarchical bundled array structure yields distensible interlayer spaces to buffer the volume expansion during K+insertion/extraction,offers more electrochemical active sites to obtain a high specific capacity, and provides efficient channels for fast ion/electron transports. Therefore, the N/S-CSB anode achieved high reversible specific capacity of 365 mAh/g obtained at 50 mA/g after 200 cycles with a coulombic efficiency(CE)close to 100%,high rate performance and long cycle stability. Moreover, the in-situ Raman spectra indicated outstanding reaction kinetics of as-prepared N/S-CSB anode.Jinhui Cao Jiang Zhong Hanjiao Xu Shengyang Li Hongli Deng Tao Wang Ling Fan Xinghui Wang Lei Wang Jian Zhu Bingan Lu Xidong Duan 2022Nano Research2022,15,3:1
An efficient method for train-track-substructure dynamic interaction analysis by implicit-explicit integration and multi-time-step solution显示文摘In this work,a method is put forward to obtain the dynamic solution efficiently and accurately for a large-scale train-track-substructure(TTS)system.It is called implicit-explicit integration and multi-time-step solution method(abbreviated as mI-nE-MTS method). The TTS system is divided into train-track subsystem and substruc-ture subsystem.Considering that the root cause of low effi-ciency of obtaining TTS solution lies in solving the alge-braic equation of the substructures, the high-efficient Zhai method,an explicit integration scheme, can be introduced to avoid matrix inversion process. The train-track system is solved by implicitly Park method. Moreover,it is known that the requirement of time step size differs for different sub-systems,integration methods and structural frequency response characteristics.A multi-time-step solution is pro-posed,in which time step size for the train-track subsystem and the substructure subsystem can be arbitrarily chosen once satisfying stability and precision demand, namely the time spent for m implicit integral steps is equal to n explicit integral steps,i.e.,mI=nE as mentioned above. The numeri-cal examples show the accuracy, efficiency, and engineering practicality of the proposed method.Lei Xu Wanming Zhai Shengyang Zhu Weizheng Liu 2023Railway Engineering Science2023,31,1:1

Full-scale multi-functional test platform for investigating mechanical performance of track–subgrade systems of high-speed railways显示文摘Motivated by the huge practical engineering demand for the fundamental understanding of mechanical characteristics of high-speed railway infrastructure,a fullscale multi-functional test platform for high-speed railway track–subgrade system is developed in this paper, and its main functions for investigating the mechanical performance of track–subgrade systems are elaborated with three typical experimental examples.Comprising the full-scale subgrade structure and all the five types of track structures adopted in Chinese high-speed railways, namely the CRTS I,the CRTS II and the CRTS III ballastless tracks, the double-block ballastless track and the ballasted track, the test platform is established strictly according to the construction standard of Chinese high-speed railways.Three kinds of effective loading methods are employed, including the real bogie loading,multi-point loading and the impact loading.Various types of sensors are adopted in different components of the five types of track–subgrade systems to measure the displacement, acceleration, pressure, structural strain and deformation, etc.Utilizing this test platform, both dynamic characteristics and long-term performance evolution of high-speed railway track–subgrade systems can be investigated, being able to satisfy the actual demand for large-scale operation of Chinese high-speed railways. As examples, three typical experimental studies are presented to elucidate the comprehensive functionalities of the full-scale multi-functional test platform for exploring the dynamic performance and its long-term evolution of ballastless track systems and for studying the long-term accumulative settlement of the ballasted track–subgrade system in high-speed railways. Some interesting phenomena and meaningful results are captured by the developed test platform, which provide a useful guidance for the scientific operation and maintenance of high-speed railway infrastructure.Wanming Zhai Kaiyun Wang Zhaowei Chen Shengyang Zhu Chengbiao Cai Gang Liu 2020Railway Engineering Science2020,28,3:1
In situ formation of lithiophilic Li_(22)Sn_(5) alloy and high Li-ion conductive Li_(2)S/Li_(2)Se via metal chalcogenide SnSSe for dendrite-free Li metal anodes显示文摘Lithium metal has gained extensive attention as the most ideal candidate for next-generation battery anode owing to the ultrahigh specific capacity and the lowest electrochemical potential. However, uncontrollable dendrite growth and huge volume variation extremely restrict the future deployment of lithium metal batteries.Herein,we report metal chalcogenide SnSSe with unique nanoplate stacking structure as a robust substrate for stable Li metal anode.During the initial Li plating process, lithiophilic Li_(22)Sn_(5) alloy and Li_(2)S/Li_(2)Se sites are obtained via in-situ electrochemical reaction of Li metal and SnSSe.Density functional theory(DFT)calculation demonstrates that the formed Li_(2)S/Li_(2)Se achieves low Li diffusion energy barrier, ensuring rapid Li~+migration.Li_(22)Sn_(5) alloy provides strong nucleation sites, promoting uniform Li nucleation.Furthermore,in-situ optical microscopy analysis suggests that the synthesized effect fundamentally inhibits lithium dendrite growth.Consequently,SnSSe modified Cu foil delivered an ultralow nucleation overpotential, superior cycling stability with 450 cycles(Coulombic efficiency,>98%),and excellent plating/stripping behavior over 2200 h at 0.5 mA cm^(-2).Moreover,the brilliant reversible cycles and rate capability were also realized in Li@SnSSe//LiFePO_(4)(LFP)full cell, shedding light on the feasibility of SnSSe for stable and dendrite-free lithium metal anode.Yaya Wang Yang Guo Jiang Zhong Meng Wang Lei Wang Shengyang Li Song Chen Hongli Deng Yong Liu Yidi Wu Jian Zhu Bingan Lu 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,10:0
Probing of coupling effect induced plasmonic charge accumulation for water oxidation显示文摘A key issue for redox reactions in plasmon-induced photocatalysis, particularly for water oxidation, is the concentration of surface-accumulating charges(electrons or holes) at a reaction site for artificial photosynthesis. However, where plasmonic charge accumulated at a catalyst’s surface, and how to improve local charge density at active sites, remains unknown because it is difficult to identify the exact spatial location and local density of the plasmon-induced charge, particularly with regard to holes. Herein, we show that at the single particle level, plasmon-coupling-induced holes can be greatly accumulated at the plasmonic Au nanoparticle dimer/TiO_(2) interface in the nanogap region, as directly evidenced by the locally enhanced surface photovoltage. Such an accumulation of plasmonic holes can significantly accelerate the water oxidation reaction(multi-holes involved) at the interfacial reaction site, with nearly one order of magnitude enhancement in photocatalytic activities compared to those of highly dispersed Au nanoparticles on TiO_(2). Combining Kelvin probe force microscopy and theoretical simulation, we further clarified that the local accumulated hole density is proportional to the square of the local near-field enhancement. Our findings advance the understanding of how charges spatially distribute in plasmonic systems and the specific role that local charge density at reaction sites plays in plasmonic photocatalysis.Yuying Gao Feng Cheng Weina Fang Xiaoguo Liu Shengyang Wang Wei Nie Ruotian Chen Sheng Ye Jian Zhu Hongyu An Chunhai Fan Fengtao Fan Can Li 2021National Science Review2021,8,6:0
Potassium ion pre‑intercalated MnO_(2)for aqueous multivalent ion batteries显示文摘Manganese dioxide(MnO_(2)),as a cathode material for multivalent ion(such as Mg^(2+)and Al^(3+))storage,is investigated due to its high initial capacity. However, during multivalent ion insertion/extraction,the crystal structure of MnO_(2)partially collapses, leading to fast capacity decay in few charge/discharge cycles. Here, through pre-intercalating potassium-ion(K+)intoδ-MnO_(2),we synthesize a potassium ion pre-intercalated MnO_(2),K_(0.21)MnO_(2)·0.31H_(2)O(KMO),as a reliable cathode material for multivalent ion batteries. The as-prepared KMO exhibits a high reversible capacity of 185 mAh/g at 1 A/g,with considerable rate performance and improved cycling stability in 1 mol/L MgSO_(4)electrolyte.In addition,we observe that aluminum-ion(Al^(3+))can also insert into a KMO cathode. This work provides a valid method for modifcation of manganesebased oxides for aqueous multivalent ion batteries.Zikang Xu Ruiqi Ren Hang Ren Jingyuan Zhang Jinyao Yang Jiawen Qiu Yizhou Zhang Guoyin Zhu Liang Huang Shengyang Dong 2023Frontiers of Optoelectronics2023,16,4:0
