| 2 | In vitro degradation and biocompatibility of Mg-Nd-Zn-Zr alloy显示文摘In this study,in vitro degradation and biocompatibility of Mg-Nd-Zn-Zr(NZK) alloy were investigated to determine its suitability as a degradable medical biomaterial.Its corrosion properties were evaluated by static immersion test,electrochemical corrosion test,scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and energy dispersive spectroscopic(EDS) analysis,and in vitro biocompatibilities were assessed by hemolysis and cytotoxicity tests.Pure magnesium was used as control.The results of static immersion test and electrochemical corrosion test in simulated body fluid(SBF) demonstrated that the addition of alloying elements could improve the corrosion resistance.The hemolysis test found that the hemolysis rate of calcium phosphate coated NZK alloy was 4.8%,which was lower than the safe value of 5%.The cytotoxicity test indicated that NZK alloy extracts did not significantly reduce MC3T3-E1 cell viability.Hemolysis test and cytotoxicity test display excellent hemocompatibility and cytocompatibility of NZK alloy in vitro.Our data indicate that NZK alloy has excellent biocompatibility and thus can be considered as a potential degradable medical biomaterial for orthopedic applications. | WANG YongPing HE YaoHua ZHU ZhaoJin JIANG Yao ZHANG Jian NIU JiaLin MAO Lin YUAN GuangYin | 2012 | Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,17: | 8 |

| 4 | Applications of online monitoring technology for tailings dam on digital mine显示文摘Considering its structural features, geometric shapes, service mode, environmental media, mechanical behavior, etc, the special nature and complexity of tailings dam were summarized. The technical approach to safety management for tailings dam was proposed, which is the on-line automated monitoring and early warning information. The results show that a strong theoretical basis can be provided for security monitoring and security management of tailings dam. Online automated monitoring system for tailings dam has full implementation of the information. | 5 | A planetary perspective on Earth's space environment evolution显示文摘The planet Earth is an integrated system, in which its multi-spheres are coupled, from the space to the inner core. Whether the space environment in short to long terms has been controlled by the earth's interior process is contentious. In the past several decades,space weather and space climate have been extensively studied based on either observation data measured directly by man-made instruments or ancient data inferred indirectly from some historical medium of past thousands of years. The acquired knowledge greatly helps us to understand the dynamic processes in the space environment of modern Earth, which has a strong magnetic dipole and an oxygen-rich atmosphere. However, no data is available for ancient space weather and climate(>5 ka). Here, we propose to take the advantage of ' space-diversity' to build a ' generalized planetary space family', to reconcile the ancient space environment evolution of planet Earth from modern observations of other planets in our solar system. | 6 | Using big data to track marine oil transportation along the 21st-century Maritime Silk Road显示文摘China's designation of the '21 st-century Maritime Silk Road'(MSR) region is of extraordinary significance to its maritime rights, transportation security, and socio-economic development. We developed a technical framework allowing the use of 'big data' derived from the Automatic Identification System(AIS, an automatic ship-tracking network) for two purposes: the accurate mapping of oil tanker trajectories and the creation of heat maps showing the relative use of oil tanker routes and marine shipping chokepoints. We then applied these methods to 1.5 billion AIS records collected within the MSR in 2014 to statistically identify and analyze busy routes, areas, and chokepoints in this strategic region. | 7 | Statistical survey on the magnetic field in magnetotail current sheets: Cluster observations显示文摘The distribution properties of the magnetic field in magnetotail current sheets have been explored statistically with the magnetic measurement data of the Cluster mission from June to November of the years 2001–2005.It is found that,on average,the strength of the magnetic field and its Bz component in the current sheet are weaker in the region close to midnight but stronger near the dawnside and duskside flanks,which implies that,in general,a thinner current sheet occurs near midnight and thicker ones near both flanks.The occurrence of tail current sheet flapping is higher on both flanks than in the midnight region,although it is most frequent in the dawn flank.Current sheets with a negative Bz component or a strong By component have a higher probability of occurring at magnetic local times of 21:00–01:00,indicating that magnetic activity,e.g.magnetic reconnection and current disruption occur more frequently there.Statistically,the probability distributions of the By component and the tilt angle of magnetic field lines in the current sheet are approximately normal distributions,and the occurrence probability of the flattened current sheet is about one third that of the normal current sheet.The magnetic field and Bz component in the current sheet mainly vary from 1 nT to 10 nT.The By component in the tail central current sheet is on average twice the IMF By at 1 AU. | RONG ZhaoJin SHEN Chao LUCEK E BALOGH A YAO Li | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,23: | 3 |
| 8 | Copolymerization-Assisted Preparation of Porous LiMn_2O_4 Hollow Microspheres as High Power Cathode of Lithium-ion Batteries显示文摘Porous LiMn2O4 hollow microspheres were facilely prepared by incorporation of Li and Mn elements into a spherical polymeric precursor through copolymerization of lithium and manganese acetates with resorcinol and hexamethylenetetramine and then burning off the organic matrix at appropriate temperatures in air. The LiMn_2O_4 inherited the spherical morphology of the polymeric precursor but showed hollow porous structure assembled by nanocrystals of about 50–100 nm in size. When tested as cathode of Li-ion batteries, the LiMn_2O_4 hollow spheres exhibited excellent rate capability and cycle stability.A discharge capacity of above 90 mAhg^(-1)was maintained at 10 C(1C = 120 mAg^(-1)), and the cells can still deliver a discharge capacity over 100 mAhg^(-1)after another 115 cycles at 0.5 C. Oualaniensis could be divided into three populations by statolith morphology in the central South China Sea. Five most important featured parameters including total statolith length( TSL),wing length( WL),maximum width( MW) were described by logarithmic functions with mental length( ML)( P < 0. 05); rostrum length( RSL),dorsolateral length( DLL) were described by linear functions with ML( P < 0. 05).
