| 2 | Biostratigraphy and geography of the Ordovician-Silurian Lungmachi black shales in South China显示文摘Based on the new material of seven Ordovician-Silurian boundary sections investigated recently, together with previously published data, we analyze the temporal and spatial distributions of the Lungmachi black shales, a key petroleum source bed widely distributed in South China. The Lungmachi black shales range in age from the Normalograptus persculptus Biozone of the uppermost Ordovician to the Spirograptus guerichi Biozone of the lower Telychian, and ten graptolite biozones can be recognized within this unit. The basal and upper contacts of the Lungmachi black shales are diachronous. The basal contact ranges from the N. persculptus to the C. cyphus biozones, a span of five graptolite biozones over two stages. The upper contact ranges from the D. pectinatus-M. argenteus Biozone to the Spirograptus guerichi Biozone, which spans four graptolite biozones over two stages. The Yichang Uplift resulted in the formation of the Hunan-Hubei Submarine High in the border area of Hubei, Hunan, and Chongqing. This is supported by a break in sedimentation in this area spanning all or part of the Hirnantian, and in many areas extending into the underlying Katian and overlying Rhuddanian. Comparison of the distribution of the Katian to Rhuddanian strata in this area indicates a growth and subsequent reduction in area of the Hunan-Hubei Submarine High particularly in the Hirnantian to early Rhuddanian. | 3 | Immunohistochemical prognostic markers of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma:a systematic review显示文摘Background: Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC) is an aggressive malignancy, with a high incidence and poor prognosis. In the past several decades, hundreds of proteins have been reported to be associated with the prognosis of ESCC, but none has been widely accepted to guide clinical care. This study aimed to identify proteins with great potential for predicting prognosis of ESCC.Methods: We conducted a systematic review on immunohistochemical(IHC) prognostic markers of ESCC according to the 2009 Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses(PRISMA) Guidelines. Literature related to IHC prognostic markers of ESCC were searched from PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library until January 30 th, 2017. The risk of bias of these original studies was evaluated using the Quality in Prognosis Studies(QUIPS) tool.Results: We identified 11 emerging IHC markers with reproducible results, including eight markers [epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR), Cyclin D1, vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF), Survivin, Podoplanin, Fascin,phosphorylated mammalian target of rapamycin(p-mTOR), and pyruvate kinase M2(PKM2)] indicating unfavorable prognosis and 3 markers(P27, P16, and E-cadherin) indicating favorable prognosis of ESCC.Conclusion: Strong evidence supports that these 11 emerging IHC markers or their combinations may be useful in predicting prognosis and aiding personalized therapy decision-making for ESCC patients. | Chunni Wang Jingnan Wang Zhaoli Chen Yibo Gao Jie He | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Cancer2017,36,11: | 16 |

| 6 | Application of Traditional Chinese Medicine in medical practice:a survey of community residents in Beijing,China显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate how community residents in Beijing understood and used Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) in their medical practice.METHODS:This was a cross-sectional study conducted on 3410 community residents from four large communities of Tongzhou district in Beijng,China.A validated, self-administered questionnaire comprised of three sections was used to gather the data.A systematic sampling procedure was applied to recruit the community residents.RESULTS:A total of 3410 participants completed the questionnaire survey.It showed that in highly educated residents, 33.4%(170) knew of the names of 3-10 Chinese herbals, 35.8%(182) knew of names of 3-10 traditional Chinese patent drug.Among all the respondent residents, 80.7%(2753)believed that TCM herbal therapy and TCM non-drug treatments were effective in disease treatment, health enhancement, 85.7%(2923) had taken traditional Chinese patent drug in their life,56.8%(1937) of residents had used herbal decoction, 40.0%(1365) had received non-drug treatment of TCM, such as acupuncture, massage, cupping, auricular acupuncture.Among the elderly residents, 11.4%(98) often used Chinese patent drug and 9.8%(85) often used herbal decoction.In addition, 70.8%(2415) of residents were willing to accept knowledge and information on TCM for health enhancement and disease prevention, such as medicated diet, medicinal tea, Tai Chi and Qi Gong, although 82.8%(2825) of residents had never used them.CONCLUSION:Chinese patent drug and herbal decoction are widely used in the communities in Beijing, and there existed a possible close correlation between high educational level and better understanding of TCM.Age and occupation also correlated with the attitude to TCM therapies.The characteristics of the residents should be considered seriously in the course of promoting the understanding and application of TCM. | Liu Zhongdi Huang Yunyu Cui Zhaoli Tan Yong Yang Jing Lü Aiping Wang Yaoxian Jiang Miao | 2017 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2017,37,2: | 3 |
| 7 | Simulation Performance Evaluation and Uncertainty Analysis on a Coupled Inundation Model Combining SWMM and WCA2D显示文摘Urban floods are becoming increasingly more frequent,which has led to tremendous economic losses.The application of inundation modeling to predict and simulate urban flooding is an effective approach for disaster prevention and risk reduction,while also addressing the uncertainty problem in the model is always a challenging task.In this study,a cellular automaton(CA)-based model combining a storm water management model(SWMM)and a weighted cellular automata 2D inundation model was applied and a physical-based model(LISFLOOD-FP)was also coupled with SWMM for comparison.The simulation performance and the uncertainty factors of the coupled model were systematically discussed.The results show that the CA-based model can achieve sufficient accuracy and higher computational efficiency than can a physical-based model.The resolution of terrain and rainstorm data had a strong influence on the performance of the CA-based model,and the simulations would be less creditable when using the input data with a terrain resolution lower than 15 m and a recorded interval of rainfall greater than 30 min.The roughness value and model type showed limited impacts on the change of inundation depth and occurrence of the peak inundation area.Generally,the CA-based coupled model demonstrated laudable applicability and can be recommended for fast simulation of urban flood episodes.This study also can provide references and implications for reducing uncertainty when constructing a CA-based coupled model. | Zhaoyang Zeng Zhaoli Wang Chengguang Lai | 2022 | International Journal of Disaster Risk Science2022,13,3: | 2 |

| 19 | LAMC2 regulates proliferation, migration, and invasion mediated by the Pl3K/AKT/mTOR pathway in oral显示文摘Background:Oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC)is a common malignant tumor.Recently,Laminin Gamma 2(LAMC2)has been shown to be abnormally expressed in OSCC;however,how LAMC2 signaling contributes to the occurrence and development of OSCC and the role of autophagy in OSCC has not been fully explored.This study aimed to analyze the role and mechanism of LAMC2 signaling in OSCC and the involvement of autophagy in OSCC.Methods:To explore the mechanism by which LAMC2 is highly expressed in OSCC,we used small interfering RNA(siRNA)to knock down LAMC2 to further observe the changes in the signaling pathway.Furthermore,we used cell proliferation assays,Transwell invasion assays,and wound-healing assays to observe the changes in OSCC proliferation,invasion,and metastasis.RFP-LC3 was used to detect the level of autophagy intensity.A cell line-derived xenograft(CDX)model was used to detect the effect of LAMC2 on tumor growth in vivo.Results:This study found that the level of autophagy was correlated with the biological behavior of OSCC.The downregulation of LAMC2 activated autophagy and inhibited OSCC proliferation,invasion,and metastasis via inhibiting the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway.Moreover,autophagy has a dual effect on OSCC,and the synergistic downregulation of LAMC2 and autophagy can inhibit OSCC metastasis,invasion,and proliferation via the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway.Conclusions:LAMC2 interacts with autophagy to regulate OSCC metastasis,invasion,and proliferation via the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway.LAMC2 down-regulation can synergistically modulate autophagy to inhibit OSCC migration,invasion,and proliferation. | FAYU SHAN LANLAN LIANG CHONG FENG HONGBAO XU ZIROU WANG WEILI LIU LINGLING PU ZHAOLI CHEN GANG CHEN XINXING WANG | 2023 | Oncology Research2023,31,4: | 1 |
