| 3 | Effect of processing parameters on the densification of an additively manufactured 2024 Al alloy显示文摘Understanding the densification behaviours and formation mechanisms of defects are essential to fabricate high quality and high strength aluminium components using selective laser melting(SLM) technology. In this work, the effects of laser power and scanning speed on the densification, defects evolution and their formation mechanisms in a SLMed 2024 aluminium(Al) alloy were investigated in consideration of the corresponding laser energy input, melting mode transition and microstructural evolution. The results showed that optimizing the processing parameters effectively reduced the porosity level below1% by avoiding the lack of fusion and keyhole melting mode, and minimizing the gas pores. However,optimization of the processing parameters could not eliminate the columnar structure associated with the SLMed 2024 Al alloy, which contributed to the hot-tearing cracks in the SLMed parts. It was found that the dependence of porosity formation on SLM processing parameters was contrary to the crack density. | 4 | Shear wave velocity structure of the crust and upper mantle in Southeastern Tibet and its geodynamic implications显示文摘Southeastern Tibet,which has complex topography and strong tectonic activity,is an important area for studying the subsurface deformation of the Tibetan Plateau.Through the two-station method on 10-year teleseismic Rayleigh wave data from 132 permanent stations in the southeastern Tibetan Plateau,which incorporates ambient noise data,we obtain the interstation phase velocity dispersion data in the period range of 5–150s.Then,we invert for the shear wave velocity of the crust and upper mantle through the direct 3-D inversion method.We find two low-velocity belts in the mid-lower crust.One belt is mainly in the SongPan-GangZi block and northwestern part of the Chuan-Dian diamond block,whereas the other belt is mainly in the Xiaojiang fault zone and its eastern part,the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau.The low-velocity belt in the Xiaojiang fault zone is likely caused by plastic deformation or partial melting of felsic rocks due to crustal thickening.Moreover,the significant positive radial anisotropy(VSH>VSV)around the Xiaojiang fault zone further enhances the amplitude of low velocity anomaly in our VSVmodel.This crustal low-velocity zone also extends southward across the Red River fault and farther to northern Vietnam,which may be closely related to heat sources in the upper mantle.The two low-velocity belts are separated by a high-velocity zone near the Anninghe-Zemuhe fault system,which is exactly in the inner and intermediate zones of the Emeishan large igneous province(ELIP).We find an obvious high-velocity body situated in the crust of the inner zone of the ELIP,which may represent maficultramafic material that remained in the crust when the ELIP formed.In the upper mantle,there is a large-scale low-velocity anomaly in the Indochina and South China blocks south of the Red River fault.The low-velocity anomaly gradually extends northward along the Xiaojiang fault zone into the Yangtze Craton as depth increases.Through our velocity model,we think that southeastern Tibet is undergoing three different tectonic modes at the same time:(1)the upper crust is rigid,and as a result,the tectonic mode is mainly rigid block extrusion controlled by large strike-slip faults;(2)the viscoplastic materials in the middlelower crust,separated by rigid materials related to the ELIP,migrate plastically southward under the control of the regional stress field and fault systems;and(3)the upper mantle south of the Red River fault is mainly controlled by large-scale asthenospheric upwelling and may be closely related to lithospheric delamination and the eastward subduction and retreat of the Indian plate beneath Burma. | Zhiqi ZHANG Huajian YAO Yan YANG | 2020 | Science China Earth Sciences2020,63,9: | 12 |
| 5 | Thermal decomposition and oxidation of bastnaesite concentrate in inert and oxidative atmosphere显示文摘To clearly elucidate the oxidative roasting behaviors of the bastnaesite, the thermal decomposition and oxidation of the bastnaesite concentrate in inert and oxidative atmosphere have been investigated in detail. Experimental data indicated that the initial decomposition temperature of the concentrate under N_2 atmosphere is 150 ℃ higher than that under O_2 atmosphere,most likely because the oxidation of the cerium induces the decomposition of the concentrate. For the roasted samples under N_2 atmosphere at500 ℃ and above,the oxidation efficiency of the cerium is 19.8%-26.8% because of the fact that rareearth fluorocarbonate is first decomposed to form rare-earth oxyfluoride and CO_2, and the cerium oxyfluoride is then partially oxidized by the CO_2 gas. The rest cerium in these samples can be further oxidized in air at room temperature, with the oxidation efficiency of the cerium gradually increasing to above 80% in 7 d. This can be attributed to the obvious changes in the inner morphology of the roasted samples under N_2 atmosphere at high temperatures, which largely induce the diffusion of the air and improves the oxidation activity of CeOF, and further induces the oxidation of CeOF by the air. XRD and XPS techniques were used to further verify the significant differences in the thermal decomposition behaviors of the bastnaesite concentrate under N_2 and O_2 atmosphere. Moreover, no oxidation of Pr^(3+) to Pr^(4+) in the roasted samples under both N_2 and O_2 atmosphere is observed. | 6 | Spatial-temporal dynamics of desert vegetation and its responses to climatic variations over the last three decades:a case study of Hexi region in Northwest China显示文摘Analysis of spatial-temporal variations of desert vegetation under the background of climate changes can provide references for ecological restoration in arid and semi-arid areas.In this study,we used the Global Inventory Modeling and Mapping Studies(GIMMS)NDVI data from 1982 to 2006 and Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS)NDVI data from 2000 to 2013 to reveal the dynamics of desert vegetation in Hexi region of Northwest China over the past three decades.We also used the annual temperature and precipitation data acquired from the Chinese meteorological stations to analyze the response of desert vegetation to climatic variations.The average value of NDVImax(the maximum NDVI during the growing season)for desert vegetation in Hexi region increased at the rate of 0.65×10–3/a(P<0.05)from 1982 to 2013,and the significant increases of NDVImax mainly appeared in the typical desert vegetation areas.Vegetation was significantly improved in the lower reaches of Shule and Shiyang river basins,and the weighted mean center of desert vegetation mainly shifted toward the lower reaches of the two basins.Almost 95.32% of the total desert vegetation area showed positive correlation between NDVImax and annual precipitation,indicating that precipitation is the key factor for desert vegetation growth in the entire study area.Moreover,the areas with non-significant positive correlation between NDVImax and annual precipitation mainly located in the lower reaches of Shiyang and Shule river basins,this may be due to human activities.Only 7.64% of the desert vegetation showed significant positive correlation between NDVImax and annual precipitation in the Shule River Basin(an extremely arid area),indicating that precipitation is not the most important factor for vegetation growth in this basin,and further studies are needed to investigate the mechanism for this phenomenon. | YANG Xuemei LIU Shizeng YANG Taibao XU Xianying KANG Caizhou TANG Jinnian WEI Huaidong Mihretab G GHEBREZGABHER LI Zhiqi | 2016 | Journal of Arid Land2016,8,4: | 10 |

| 8 | Centrifugal extraction of rare earths from wet-process phosphoric acid显示文摘Phosphorite ore is a potential resource of rare earths (RE) as well as phosphate; therefore, the recovery of RE from wet-process phosphoric acid (WPA) is promising. This study investigated the influence of rotational speed, extractant concentration, flow ratio and phase contact time on the centrifugal extraction of RE from WPA and the separation of RE from impurities. The results indicate that higher rotational speed, higher extractant concentration and larger flow ratio are beneficial to the extraction of RE and impurities from phosphoric acid. It is found that the phase contact time for efficiently extracting RE and that for iron are of great difference, which provides an effective method for separating RE from iron using the non-equilibrium extraction process in centrifugal contactors. | 9 | Stream-computing of High Accuracy On-board Real-time Cloud Detection for High Resolution Optical Satellite Imagery显示文摘This paper focuses on the time efficiency for machine vision and intelligent photogrammetry, especially high accuracy on-board real-time cloud detection method. With the development of technology, the data acquisition ability is growing continuously and the volume of raw data is increasing explosively. Meanwhile, because of the higher requirement of data accuracy, the computation load is also becoming heavier. This situation makes time efficiency extremely important. Moreover, the cloud cover rate of optical satellite imagery is up to approximately 50%, which is seriously restricting the applications of on-board intelligent photogrammetry services. To meet the on-board cloud detection requirements and offer valid input data to subsequent processing, this paper presents a stream-computing of high accuracy on-board real-time cloud detection solution which follows the “bottom-up” understanding strategy of machine vision and uses multiple embedded GPU with significant potential to be applied on-board. Without external memory, the data parallel pipeline system based on multiple processing modules of this solution could afford the “stream-in, processing, stream-out” real-time stream computing. | 10 | High-precision measurement of mercury isotope ratios of atmospheric deposition over the past 150 years recorded in a peat core taken from Hongyuan, Sichuan Province, China显示文摘High-precision 210Pb dating technology was applied to a peat core with a time span of about 150 years that was taken from Hongyuan, Sichuan Province, China. The concentrations of total mercury (Hg) and stable isotope compositions of mercury in the peat core were measured using a LUMEX 915 instrument and multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer, respectively. Total mercury (Hg) concentrations in the peat core had a clearly increasing trend from the bottom to top of the core while δ 202Hg values (relative to NIST 3133) of peat had a decreasing trend. The total mercury (Hg) concentration varied from 16.7 to 101.3 ng/g and the δ 202Hg values ranged from –0.44‰± 0.14‰ to –1.45‰± 0.22‰. | 11 | Boron isotopic fractionation during incorporation of boron into Mg(OH)_2显示文摘Experiments of boron incorporated into Mg(OH)2 from magnesium-free synthetic seawater were carried out at various pH values, in order to investigate the adsorption species and the variation of isotopic fractionation of boron on Mg(OH)2. The results showed that the incorporation of boron into Mg(OH)2 was very rapid and reached the equilibrium after 4 h. The [B]s and the partition coefficient Kd between Mg(OH)2 and final solution decreased with the increasing pH. The maximum values of [B]s and Kd were much higher than that of boron adsorbed on metal oxide or clay minerals, indicating that the incorporation capability of boron into Mg(OH)2 was very strong. When the adsorption reached the equilibrium, the δ 11Bfsw was lower than δ 11Bisw. The boron isotopic fractionation αs-fsw was between 1.0186 and 1.0220 with an average of 1.0203. All these indicated that 11B incorporated into Mg(OH)2 preferentially due to B(OH)3 incorporation into Mg(OH)2 preferentially. The deposition reaction of B(OH)3 with Mg(OH)2 was the direct reason for B(OH)3 incorporation into Mg(OH)2. During the boron incorporation into Mg(OH)2, the isotopic fractionation characteristic of boron was decided by the simultaneous existence of adsorption of boron on Mg(OH)2 and the deposition reaction of H3BO3 with Mg(OH)2. Different from the fact that only B(OH)4-species incorporated into bio-carbonate, B(OH)3 and B(OH)4 incorporated into Mg(OH)2 simultaneously, and B(OH)3 incorporated into it preferentially. The lower pH is, the more incorporated fraction of B(OH)3 will be. | 12 | In-situ cosmogenic ^(36)Cl denudation rates of carbonates in Guizhou karst area显示文摘This study quantifies surface denudation of carbonate rocks by the first application of in-situ cosmogenic36Cl in China. Concentrations of natural Cl and in-situ cosmogenic36Cl in bare carbonates from Guizhou karst areas were measured with isotope dilution by accelerator mass spectrometer. The Cl concentration varied from 16 to 206 ppm. The 36Cl concentrations were in range of (0.8-2.4)106 atom g-1 , resulting in total denudation rates of 20-50 mm ka-1 that averaged over a 104-105 a timescale. The 36Cl-denudation rates showed roughly a negative correlation with the local mean temperature. | 13 | Symptoms of long-term exposure to moxa smoke in acupuncturists: a correlation analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of long-term exposure to moxa smoke on acupuncturists and to consider the association between physical symptoms and gender, age, secondhand smoke(SHS) exposure, and the duration of exposure.METHODS: A self-report, web-based questionnaire was used to evaluate the effects of moxa smoke onacupuncturists. Logistic regression was used to analyze the relationship between physical symptoms and possible correlative factors.RESULTS: A total of 858 questionnaires were analyzed. The data showed that 42.42% of acupuncturists had been exposed to moxa smoke for 5-10 years. The most frequent symptom was tearing(32.98%) and the least frequent symptom was asthma(5.24%). Logistic regression analysis showed that female acupuncturists were slightly more susceptible to cough and tearing than males(cough:OR: 1.583, 95% CI: 1.079, 2.321, P = 0.019; tearing:OR: 1.519, 95% CI: 1.094, 2.108, P = 0.013). Acupuncturists aged over 25 years reported a slightly lower incidence of eye itchiness than those aged under25 years(26-40 years: OR: 0.604, 95% CI: 0.379,0.965, P = 0.035; over 40 years: OR: 0.330, 95% CI:0.114, 0.958, P = 0.042). Ophthalmodynia occurred less in acupuncturists aged 26-40 years(OR: 0.591,95% CI: 0.359, 0.970, P = 0.038) than in those younger than 25 years. The only association between prevalence of symptoms and tobacco use and SHS exposure was that smokers had a lower occurrence of phlegm in the throat(OR: 0.579, 95% CI: 0.392,0.856, P = 0.006). Shortness of breath was less frequent in participants exposed to moxa smoke for more than 5 years(5-10 years: OR: 0.400, 95% CI:0.204, 0.785, P = 0.008; 11-20 years: OR: 0.392, 95%CI: 0.178, 0.864, P = 0.02), but a slightly higher incidence of eye itchiness was found in those with over20 years of moxa exposure(OR: 4.200, 95% CI:1.344, 3.128, P = 0.014).CONCLUSION: The most frequent symptom of moxa smoke exposure in acupuncturists was tear-ing. | 14 | Effects of key design parameters of tine furrow opener on soil seedbed properties显示文摘The structural parameters of tine furrow openers have significant effects on soil property of seed furrow in no-till planting,thereby affecting crop growth and yields.In order to analyze the effects of key parameters of tine furrow openers on soil properties(soil bulk density,soil water-stable aggregates(WSA),and soil disturbance)of the surface soil layer of 0-10 cm and surface straw disturbance,the tine furrow openers with different structural parameters,including cutting edge thickness,cutting edge curve,penetration clearance angle and rake angle,were designed and tested under no-till conditions.Orthogonal test and single factor test were performed to analyze the effects of different parameters.Results showed that the rake angle,cutting edge thickness and cutting edge curve had significant effects on cross-sectional area of furrow(Af)and disturbance of surface straw;the rake angle had a significant effect on soil bulk density.Soil types and operating depth had significant effects on soil disturbance caused by tine furrow openers.The concave type tine furrow opener produced the lowest soil disturbance and soil bulk density of seed furrow,the highest surface straw disturbance and the greatest content of WSA(>0.5 mm).With increasing rake angles of tine furrow opener,the width of seedbed(Wsb)and the Af decreased first and then increased,respectively,while the width of soil throw(Wst)and the height of ridge(Hr)increased.The Wsb and Af created by tine furrow opener with 60°rake angle were significantly lower than that with others,respectively.The tine furrow opener with rake angle ranged from 45°to 60°created the lowest soil bulk density.As the penetration clearance angle increased,the content of WSA(>0.5 mm)decreased,but the effect of penetration clearance angle on the content of WSA(<0.5 mm)was not significant.The cutting edge thickness(<2 mm)had no significant effects on soil properties of seedbed.This study could provide a reference for optimal design of the tine furrow opener to create more suitable seedbed environment,and promote the application of the light no-till planters. | Zhang Xiangcai Li Hongwen Du Ruicheng Ma Shaochun He Jin Wang Qingjie Chen Wanzhi Zheng Zhiqi Zhang Zhiqiang | 2016 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016,9,3: | 7 |
| 15 | Evaluation of PCDD/Fs and metals emission from a circulating fluidized bed incinerator co-combusting sewage sludge with coal显示文摘The emission characteristics of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans (PCDD/Fs) and heavy metals were evaluated during co-combustion of sewage sludge with coal from a circulating fluidized bed incinerator. The stack gas, slag and fly ash samples were sampled and analyzed. The gas-cleaning system consisted of electrostatic precipitators and a semi-dry scrubber. Results showed that the stack gas and fly ash exhibited mean dioxin levels of 9.4 pg I-TEQ/Nm 3 and 11.65 pg I-TEQ/g, respectively, and showed great similarities in congener profiles. By contrast, the slag presented a mean dioxin level of 0.15 pg I-TEQ/g and a remarkable difference in congener profiles compared with those of the stack gas and fly ash. Co-combusting sewage sludge with coal was able to reduce PCDD/Fs emissions significantly in comparison with sewage sludge mono-combustion. The leaching levels of Hg, Pb, Cd, Ni, Cr, Cu, and As in the fly ash and slag were much lower than the limits of the environmental protection standard in China. | 19 | Synthesis of hexaaluminate catalysts for methane combustion by reverse microemulsion medium显示文摘The aim of this study is to synthesize the catalysts of Fe-and Mn-substituted hexaaluminate by reverse microemulsion medium for methane catalytic combustion application.Pseudo-ternary phase diagrams in quaternary microemulsion systems of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTAB),n-butanol,n-octane,and water [or Al(NO3)3 solution] were presented.The effects of the alcohol chain length,ratio of sur-factant to cosurfactant,and salt concentration on the formation and stability of microemulsion systems were studied.The phase behavior of microemulsion systems was confirmed through the varying of the conductivity with the water content.The performance and structure of the catalysts,La(Mnx/Fex)Al12-x-O19-δ synthesized with the optimal parameter in the phase diagrams of microemulsions systems were characterized by BET,TG-DTA,and XRD.The micro fix-bed reactor was used to measure the catalytic activities of catalysts to methane combustion.The results showed that this synthesis method could yield non-agglomerated and highly dispersed precursors that would undergo crystallization at the lower temperature of 950℃.When temperature was raised up to 1050℃,the complete crystalline La-hexaaluminate was shaped.The hexaaluminate substituted with Fe had high-catalytic activity and stability at high temperature,while the Mn-substituted had higher catalytic activity at lower temperature.When the cooperation of Fe and Mn occurred,i.e.,LaFeMnAl10O19-δ exhibited a high surface area and catalytic activity to CH4 combustion,the CH4 light-off temperature was only 475℃ and the complete combustion temperature was 660℃.This was attributed to the synergistic effect between Fe and Mn. | BAI ShouLi WANG LiangShi SHI BingJie YANG PengCheng CUI MeiSheng LONG ZhiQi LI DianQing CHEN AiFan | 2009 | Science China Chemistry2009,52,1: | 6 |
| 20 | A hypersonic lift mechanism with decoupled lift and drag surfaces显示文摘In the present study, we propose a novel lift mechanism for which the lifting surface produces only lift. This is achieved by mounting a two-dimensional shock-shock interaction generator below the lifting surface. The shock-shock interaction theory in conjunction with a three dimensional correction and checked with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is used to analyze the lift and drag forces as function of the geometrical parameters and inflow Mach number.
