| 1 | A scientometric review of biochar research in the past 20 years(1998-2018)显示文摘Biochar is the carbon-rich product obtained from the thermochemical conversion of biomass under oxygen-limited conditions.Biochar has attained extensive attention due to its agronomical and environmental benefits in agro-ecosystems.This work adopts the scientometric analysis method to assess the development trends of biochar research based on the literature data retrieved from the Web of Science over the period of 1998-2018.By analysing the basic characteristics of 6934 publications,we found that the number of publications grew rapidly since 2010.Based on a keyword analysis,it is concluded that scholars have had a fundamental recognition of biochar and preliminarily found that biochar application had agronomic and environmental benefits during the period of 1998-2010.The clustering results of keywords in documents published during 2011-2015 showed that the main research hotspots were“biochar production”,“biochar and global climate change”,“soil quality and plant growth”,“organic pollutants removal”,and“heavy metals immobilization”.While in 2016-2018,beside these five main research hotspots,“biochar and composting”topic had also received greater attention,indicating that biochar utilization in organic solid waste composting is the current research hotspot.Moreover,updated reactors(e.g.,microwave reactor,fixed-bed reactor,screw-feeding reactor,bubbling fluidized bed reactor,etc.)or technologies(e.g.,solar pyrolysis,Thermo-Catalytic Reforming process,liquefaction technology,etc.)applied for efficient energy production and modified biochar for environmental remediation have been extensively studied recently.The findings may help the new researchers to seize the research frontier in the biochar field. | Ping Wu Syed Tahir Ata-Ul-Karim Bhupinder Pal Singh Hailong Wang Tongliang Wu Cun Liu Guodong Fang Dongmei Zhou Yujun Wang Wenfu Chen | 2019 | Biochar2019,1,1: | 36 |
| 2 | Optical observations of LIGO source GW 170817 by the Antarctic Survey Telescopes at Dome A,Antarctica显示文摘The LIGO detection of gravitational waves(GW) from merging black holes in 2015 marked the beginning of a new era in observational astronomy. The detection of an electromagnetic signal from a GW source is the critical next step to explore in detail the physics involved. The Antarctic Survey Telescopes(AST3),located at Dome A, Antarctica, is uniquely situated for rapid response time-domain astronomy with its continuous night-time coverage during the austral winter. We report optical observations of the GW source(GW 170817) in the nearby galaxy NGC 4993 using AST3. The data show a rapidly fading transient at around 1 day after the GW trigger, with the i-band magnitude declining from 17:23 ± 0:13 magnitude to 17:72 ± 0:09 magnitude in ~1:8 h. The brightness and time evolution of the optical transient associated with GW 170817 are broadly consistent with the predictions of models involving merging binary neutron stars. | 3 | Design,synthesis,and biological evaluation of novel benzimidazole derivatives and their interaction with calf thymus DNA and synergistic effects with clinical drugs显示文摘A series of new benzimidazole derivatives was synthesized and characterized by IR,1H NMR,13C NMR,MS,and HRMS spectra.All the new compounds were screened for their antimicrobial activities in vitro by a twofold serial dilution technique.The bioactive evaluation showed that 3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl benzimidazoles were comparably or even more strongly antibacterial and antifungal than the reference drugs Chloromycin,Norfloxacin,and Fluconazole.The combination of2,4-difluorobenzyl benzimidazole derivative 5l and its hydrochloride 7 respectively with the antibacterials Chloromycin,Norfloxacin,and the antifungal Fluconazole was more sensitive to methicillin-resistant MRSA and Fluconazole-insensitive A.flavus.In addition,the interaction of compound 5l with calf thymus DNA demonstrated that this compound could effectively intercalate into DNA to form a compound 5l-DNA complex that might block DNA replication and thereby exert good antimicrobial activity. | ZHANG HuiZhen LIN JianMei RASHEED Syed ZHOU ChengHe | 2014 | Science China Chemistry2014,57,6: | 5 |
| 4 | Seedling-lump integrated non-destructive monitoring for automatic transplanting with Intel RealSense depth camera显示文摘Non-destructive plant growth parameters measurement is an important concern in automatic-seedling transplanting.Recently,several image-basedmonitoring approaches have been proposed and potentially developed for several agricultural applications.The presented study proposed and developed a RealSense-based machine vision system for the close-shot seedling-lump integrated monitoring.The strategy was based on the close-shot depth information.Further,the point cloud clustering and suitable algorithms were applied to obtain the segmentation of 3D seedling models.In addition,the data processing pipeline was developed to assess the differentmorphological parameter of 4 different seedling varieties.The experiments were carried out with 4 different seedling varieties(pepper,tomato,cucumber,and lettuce)and trained under different light conditions(light and dark).Moreover,analysis results showed that therewas not significantly different(p<0.05)found towards light and dark environments due to close-shot near-infrared detection.However,the results revealed that the stem diameter relationship between RealSense and the manual method was found for R^2=0.68 cucumber,R^2=0.54 tomato,R^2=0.35 pepper,and R^2=0.58 lettuce seedlings.Whereas,the seedling height relationship between RealSense and the manual methodwas found higher than R^2=0.99,0.99,0.99,and 0.99 for pepper,tomato,cucumber,and lettuce,respectively.Based on the experiment results,it was concluded that the RGB-D integrated monitoring system with the purposed method could be practiced for nursery seedlings most promisingly without high labour requirements in terms of ease of use.The system revealed a good sturdiness and relevance for plant growth monitoring.Additionally,it has the perspective for future practical value to real-time vision servo operations for transplanting robots. | Tabinda Naz Syed Liu Jizhan Zhou Xin Zhao Shengyi Yuan Yan Sami Hassan Ahmed Mohamed Imran Ali Lakhiar | 2019 | Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture2019,,3: | 4 |
| 5 | Investigating the Effectiveness of Road-related Mitigation Measures under Semi-controlled Conditions:A Case Study on Asian Amphibians显示文摘Road traffic is the main factor causing the decline in amphibian populations worldwide. The proper design of an amphibian tunnel is one of the most efficient measures to mitigate the negative impacts of road traffic on amphibians. However, no study has investigated the effectiveness of amphibian tunnels under semi-controlled conditions in Asian amphibians. Here, we selected two representative amphibian species, the Chinese brown frog, Rana chensinensis, and the Asiatic toad, Bufo gargarizans, which suffer the most severe road mortality along the roads in Northeast China. We placed experimental arrays of culverts of various sizes(diameters of 1.5, 1, and 0.5 m for circular culverts; side lengths of 1.5, 1, and 0.5 m for box culverts), and substrate type(soil, concrete, and metal) to examine the preferences of both species during the migratory season between May and September in 2016 and 2017. The results revealed that the Chinese brown frog preferred mid-and large-sized culverts as well as soil culverts. | 6 | Design,synthesis and biological evaluation of amino organophosphorus imidazoles as a new type of potential antimicrobial agents显示文摘A series of amino organophosphorus imidazoles were designed and synthesized as a novel structural type of antimicrobial agents.Bioactive evaluation in vitro showed that compound 3f exhibited equipotent or superior anti-methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(anti-MRSA) and anti-S. cerevisiae efficiencies(minimal inhibitory concentration(MIC)=2 μg/mL) to clinical drugs,and the combinations with antibacterial or antifungal drugs enhanced the antimicrobial efficiency. Highly active molecule 3f showed low propensity for bacteria to develop resistance, and the preliminary action mechanism studies demonstrated that 3f was membrane-active, but had no significant intercalation towards MRSA DNA. The computational study on 3f reasonably explained its high antimicrobial activity. Experimental data revealed that ground-state 3f-HSA complexes were formed mainly through hydrophobic interactions and hydrogen bonds with a spontaneous process, and the non-radioactive energy transfer from HSA to 3f occurred beyond F鰎ster resonance energy transfer theory.
