Solid-solution alloy nanoclusters of the immiscible gold-rhodium system achieved by a solid ligand-assisted approach for highly efficient catalysis显示文摘Striking effects are expected in solid-solution alloying, which offers enormous possibilities for various applications, especially in industrial catalysis. However, phase diagrams have revealed that a wide range of metallic elements are immiscible with each other even above their melting points.Achieving such unknown alloying between different immiscible metallic elements is highly desirable but challenging. Here, for the first time,by using an innovative solid ligand-assisted approach,we achieve the solid-solution alloying between the bulk-immiscible Au and Rh in plenty of clean,ultrafine(∼1.6 nm)and highly dispersed nanoclusters. The solid-solution alloying of immiscible Au and Rh significantly enhances their catalytic performance toward the hydrogen evolution from formic acid in contrast to the monometallic Au and Rh nanoclusters. Moreover, the resultant binary solid-solution nanoclusters are stable without any segregation during catalytic reactions. The approach demonstrated here for homogeneously mixing the immiscible metals at the atomic scale will benefit the creation of advanced alloys and their catalytic applications in future.Xinchun Yang Zhangpeng Li Mitsunori Kitta Nobuko Tsumori Wenhan Guo Zitao Zhang Jianbo Zhang Ruqiang Zou Qiang Xu 2020Nano Research2020,13,1:1

Supplementation with yak (Bos grunniens) bone collagen hydrolysate altered the structure of gut microbiota and elevated short-chain fatty acid production in mice显示文摘In this study, yak bone collagen hydrolysate(YBCH)was produced by mixed proteases and provided to standard-diet mice at a different dose(low dose(LD), medium dose(MD), and high dose(HD))to investigate its effects on the composition of gut microbiota and short-chain fatty acids(SCFA)production. It was found that YBCH was mainly composed of small molecular peptides whose molecular weight below 2 000 Da. Notably, supplementation with different doses of YBCH could significantly downregulate the ratio of Firmicutes to Bacteroidetes in the fecal microbiota. At the family level, the Lachnospiraceae abundance was significantly reduced in the YBCH gavage groups(mean reduction ratio 41.7 %, 35.2%, and 36.4% for LD, MD, and HD group, respectively). The predicted functions of gut microbes in the MD group were significantly increased at “lipid metabolism” and “glycan biosynthesis and metabolism”. Moreover, the SCFA production in the YBCH groups was elevated. Especially, the concentration of acetic acid, propionic acid, and butyric acid in the MD group was separately increased 79.7%, 89.2%, and 78.8% than that in the NC group. These results indicated that YBCH might be applied in the development of functional food for intestinal microecological regulation.Zitao Guo Dalong Yi Bo Hu Lingyu Zhu Ji Zhang Yuliang Yang Chunyu Liu Yi Shi Zhenghua Gu Yu Xin Huaigao Liu Liang Zhang 2023Food Science and Human Wellness2023,12,5:1
Expression and localization of vitellogenin genes(VTG)and receptor(VGR)in the gonad development of silver pomfret Pampus argenteus显示文摘Vitellogenesis is the main event of oocyte growth in oviparous animals, which is mainly manifested by the accumulation of vitellogenin(VTG).The accumulation of vitellogenin depends mainly on the absorption of exogenous vitellogenin, which enters oocyte through endocytosis mediated by its receptor(VGR).We investigated the expression and localization of VTG and VGR during gonad development of Pampus argenteus. The qPCR results show that vtgs were not expressed in male fish, but in the ovary and liver of female fish;the expression levels went up at first and then down. The expression levels of vgr in the testis were low and only 1%-3%of that in ovary.ELISA results show that during the ovarian development of P.argenteus,VTG in liver, serum, and ovary all showed a trend from increasing to decreasing. However,VTG in liver peaked in StageⅣ,and in serum and ovary peaked in Stage V,reflecting changes in the characteristics of VTG in the liver(synthesis),blood(transport),and ovaries(accumulation).During gonad development,VGR in the ovaries first increased and then decreased, reaching a peak in Stage V,in contrast to vgr mRNA expression. The VGR content in the testis was extremely low and stable, consistent with vgr mRNA.Immunohistochemistry results show that the location and intensity of VTG and VGR positive signals were synchronized with the changes of their protein content, which revealed that VTG was mainly synthesized in the liver cytoplasm, secreted into the blood, and transported to ovary in StageⅢ.VGR is highly expressed in oocytes in StageⅡ.In StageⅢ,a large amount of VTG reaches the ovary, when VGR begins to translate and is subsequently transported to the plasma membrane of the oocyte. Therefore, the positive signal of VGR was stronger near the plasma membrane of oocytes in StagesⅠandⅡ.By using qPCR,ELISA,and immunohistochemistry, the synthesis, transport, and accumulation of vitellogenin were elucidated and the mechanism of its endocytosis on egg membrane mediated by VTG during the development of P.argenteus was revealed preliminarily.Zitao XIONG Jiazhe YANG Shun ZHANG Yajun WANG Shanliang XU Chunyang GUO Danli WANG 2023Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2023,41,4:0
The alteration of gut microbiota by bioactive peptides:a review显示文摘Evidences suggest that the homeostasis of gut microbiota is among the most important factors for maintaining the physical and mental health of the host.Among the multiple factors affecting the homeostasis of gut microbiota, diet is one of the decisive factors.Bioactive peptides derived from protein hydrolyzed by protease or fermented by microorganism have many physiological activities that their parent proteins do not have.Currently, bioactive peptides attract more and more attention due to their bidirectional interaction with gut microbes. It has been reported that some bioactive peptides could alter the composition of gut microbiota by influencing the intestinal microenvironment.Meanwhile, quite a few bioactive peptides that are released by gut microbes or intestinal cells could resist the pathogenic bacteria to sustain the homeostasis of gut microbiota. In this review, some exogenous bioactive peptides derived from food and some endogenous bioactive peptides released from intestinal cells or microbes were discussed to summary their effects on the modulation of gut microbiota. This review is expected to provide new ideas for related research, and as well to promote the application of bioactive peptides in the fields of food and medicine.Zitao Guo Dalong Yi Bo Hu Yi Shi Yu Xin Zhenghua Gu Huaigao Liu Liang Zhang 2021Systems Microbiology and Biomanufacturing2021,1,4:0
Heterologous expression, refolding, and characterization of a calcium-independent phospholipase A1 from Streptomyces albidoflavus显示文摘Phospholipase A1(PLA_(1))is a member of the hydrolase family with applications in various fields, especially in the food industry.A calcium-independent PLA_(1) from Streptomyces albidoflavus was expressed in E.coli BL21(DE3)in this study. The results indicated that the soluble expression of PLA_(1) was at low level, which was possibly due to the toxicity of PLA_(1) to the host.In contrast, the expression of the enzyme as inclusion bodies exhibited a high-level expression and 0.3 mg inclusion bodies protein could be derived from 1 mL culture medium.Furthermore, the renaturation of PLA_(1) was achieved through a direct dilution method, yielding 29.6 U/mL PLA_(1) activity after 16 h of renaturation at 4℃.For improving the efficiency of the dilution refolding process,a continuous refolding strategy was established, and 155 U/mL PLA_(1) activity was derived from the continuous refolding process. With soybean lecithin as the substrate, the specific activity of purified renatured PLA_(1) was 1380 U/mg and the optimal temperature and pH was found to be 60℃ and 6.5.In addition, the renatured PLA_(1) was observed with better activity towards phosphatidyl inositol, whilst lipase activity was detected when the catalyzing temperature was below 55℃.Overall,this study provides a possible solution to obtain calcium-independent PLA_(1) with high yield by heterologous expression in E.coli and hence to promote its further application in the field of food industry.Shi Cheng Zitao Guo Chaojuan Liang Yi Shi Peng Geng Yu Xin Zhenghua Gu Liang Zhang 2022Systems Microbiology and Biomanufacturing2022,2,3:0
