3Transcriptomic Response to Yersinia pestis:RIG-I Like Receptor Signaling Response Is Detrimental to the Host against Plague显示文摘Bacterial pathogens have evolved various mechanisms to modulate host immune responses for successful infection.In this study,RNAsequencing technology was used to analyze the responses of human monocytes THP1 to Yersinia pestis infection.Over 6000 genes were differentially expressed over the 12 h infection.Kinetic responses of pathogen recognition receptor signaling pathways,apoptosis,antigen processing,and presentation pathway and coagulation system were analyzed in detail.Among them,RIG-I-like receptor(RLR) signaling pathway,which was established for antiviral defense,was significantly affected.Mice lacking MAVS,the adaptor of the RLR signahng pathway,were less sensitive to infection and exhibited lower IFN-P production,higher Thl-type cytokines IFN-y and IL-12 production,and lower Th2-type cytokines EL-4 and IL-13 production in the serum compared with wild-type mice.Moreover,infection of pathogenic bacteria other than Y.pestis also altered the expression of the RLR pathway,suggesting that the response of RLR pathway to bacterial infection is a universal mechanism.Zongmin Du Huiying Yang Yafang Tan Guang Tian Qingwen Zhang Yujun Cui Yanfeng Yan Xiaohong Wu Zuyun Chen Shiyang Cao Yujing Bi Yanping Han Xiaoyi Wang Yajun Song Ruifu Yan 2014Journal of Genetics and Genomics2014,41,7:2

9Spectroscopic investigation of defects mediated oxidization of single-layer MoS_(2)显示文摘Due to the extremely large surface to bulk ratio,the properties of single layer(SL)MoS_(2)are largely determined by its interaction with environment.One critical interaction process that has been intensively investigated is the oxidation process of MoS_(2).Despite numerous previous explorations,the detailed mechanism regarding how MoS_(2)reacts with oxygen is still not well understood.In this work,we systematically investigate the impact of intrinsic and pre-created defects on the oxidation process of SL MoS_(2).For pristine SL MoS_(2),the oxidation is found to initiate near point defects and grain boundaries,leading to the formation of triangle pits in the basal plane and cracks near the grain boundaries.The pre-created defects introduced by ion irradiation are found to serve as the oxidation center,resulting in a more uniform oxidation process.The oxidation is found to introduce p-type doping in the SL MoS_(2),leading to the blue shift of Raman and photoluminescence(PL)spectra.The shift is found to be more for the region near the grain boundary and for the samples with more pre-created defects.Our results suggest that the presence of defects can strongly promote the oxidation reaction of SL MoS_(2)in ambient condition,which significantly affects the stability and functionality of materials.HE ZuYun GUO Zheng ZHONG Xiao CHEN XiaoFei XUE JianMing WANG XinWei CHEN Yan 2021Science China(Technological Sciences)2021,64,3:1

16Modulating surface oxygen species via facet engineering for efficient conversion of nitrate to ammonia显示文摘Electrochemical reduction of nitrate,a common pollutant in aquatic environment,to valuable ammonia(NO3-RR) using renewably-sourced electricity has attracted widespread interests,with past efforts mainly focused on designing electrocatalysts with high activity and selectivity.The detailed correlation between catalyst properties and NO3-RR kinetics,nevertheless,is still not fully understood.In this work,we modulate the surface oxygen species of Cu_(2)O via facet engineering,and systematically study the impact of these oxygen species on the NO_(3)^(-)RR activity.Combining advanced spectroscopic techniques,densi ty fu n ctional theory calculations and molecular dynamics simulations,we find that while oxygen vacancies on Cu_(2)O(111) surface promote the adsorption of reactants and reaction intermediates,hydroxyl groups effectively inhibit the side reaction of hydrogen evolution and facilitate the hydrogenation process of NO3-RR.These two effects work in concert to render Cu_(2)O(111) facet the highest NO3-RR activity relative to those from other facets.Our study provides critical insights into the synergistic effect of exposed facets and surface oxygen species on heterogeneous catalysis,and offers a generalizable,facet engineeringbased strategy for improving the performance of a variety of electrocatalysts important for renewable energy conversion.Wenye Zhong Zhiheng Gong Zuyun He Nian Zhang Xiongwu Kang Xianwen Mao Yan Chen 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,3:0
17Causal Association of Cardiac Function by Magnetic Resonance Imaging with Frailty Index:A Mendelian Randomization Study显示文摘Owing to the susceptibility of conventional observational studies to confounding factors and reverse causation,the causal association between cardiac function and frailty is unclear.We aimed to investigate whether cardiac function has causal effects on frailty.In this study,a two-sample Mendelian randomization(MR)study was conducted using genetic variants associated with cardiac function assessed by magnetic resonance imaging phenotypes as instrumental variables.Genetic variants asso-ciated with cardiac function by magnetic resonance imaging(including seven cardiac function phenotypes)and the frailty index(FI)were obtained from two large genome-wide association studies.MR estimates from each genetic instrument were combined using inverse variance weighted(IVW),weighted median,and MR‒Egger regression methods.We found that the increase in genetically determined stroke volume(beta-0.13,95%CI-0.16 to-0.10,p=1.39E-6),rather than other cardiac phenotypes,was associated with lower FI in MR analysis of IVW after Bonferroni correction.Sensitivity analyses examining potential bias caused by pleiotropy or reverse causality revealed similar findings(e.g.,intercept[SE],-0.008[0.011],p=0.47 by MR‒Egger intercept test).The leave-one-out analysis indicated that the association was not driven by single nucleotide polymorphisms.No evidence of heterogeneity was found among the genetic variants(e.g.,MR‒Egger:Q statistic=14.4,p=0.156).In conclusion,we provided evidence that improved cardiac function could contribute to reducing FI.These findings support the hypothesis that enhancing cardiac function could be an effective prevention strategy for frailty.Hui Zhang Meng Hao Zixin Hu Yi Li Xiaoxi Hu Xiaoyan Jiang Zuyun Liu Xuehui Sun Xiaofeng Wang 2022Phenomics2022,2,6:0
