Ecosystem carbon stocks and their changes in China's grasslands显示文摘The knowledge of carbon(C) stock and its dynamics is crucial for understanding the role of grassland ecosystems in China's terrestrial C cycle. To date,a comprehensive assessment on C balance in China's grasslands is still lacking.By reviewing published literature, this study aims to evaluate ecosystem C stocks(both vegetation biomass and soil organic C) and their changes in China's grasslands. Our results are summarized as follows:(1) biomass C density(C stock per area) of China's grasslands differed greatly among previous studies, ranging from 215.8 to 348.1 g C m-2 with an average of 300.2 g C m-2.Likewise,soil C density also varied greatly between 8.5 and 15.1 kg C m-2.In total, ecosystem C stock in China's grasslands was estimated at 29.1 Pg C.(2) Both the magnitude and direction of ecosystem C changes in China's grasslands differed greatly among previous studies.According to recent reports, neither biomass nor soil C stock in China's grasslands showed a significant change during the past 20 years, indicating that grassland ecosystems are C neutral.(3) Spatial patterns and temporal dynamics of grassland biomass were closely correlated with precipitation, while changes in soil C stocks exhibited close associations with soil moisture and soil texture.Human activities, such as livestock grazing and fencing could also affect ecosystem C dynamics in China's grasslands. | Anwar MOHAMMAT | 2010 | Science China(Life Sciences)2010,53,7: | 52
Climate and litter C/N ratio constrain soil organic carbon accumulation显示文摘Soil organic carbon(SOC) plays critical roles in stabilizing atmospheric CO2 concentration, but the mechanistic controls on the amount and distribution of SOC on global scales are not well understood. In turn, this has hampered the ability to model global C budgets and to find measures to mitigate climate change. Here, based on the data from a large field survey campaign with 2600 plots across China’s forest ecosystems and a global collection of published data from forested land, we find that a low litter carbon-to-nitrogen ratio(C/N) and high wetness index(P/PET, precipitation-to-potentialevapotranspiration ratio) are the two factors that promote SOC accumulation, with only minor contributions of litter quantity and soil texture. The field survey data demonstrated that high plant diversity decreased litter C/N and thus indirectly promoted SOC accumulation by increasing the litter quality. We conclude that any changes in plant-community composition, plant-species richness and environmental factors that can reduce the litter C/N ratio, or climatic changes that increase wetness index, may promote SOC accumulation. The study provides a guideline for modeling the carbon cycle of various ecosystem scales and formulates the principle for land-based actions for mitigating the rising atmospheric CO2 concentration. | Guoyi Zhou Shan Xu Philippe Ciais Stefano Manzoni Jingyun Fang Guirui Yu Xuli Tang Ping Zhou Wantong Wang Junhua Yan Gengxu Wang Keping Ma Shenggong Li Sheng Du Shijie Han Youxin Ma Deqiang Zhang Juxiu Liu Shizhong Liu Guowei Chu Qianmei Zhang Yuelin Li Wenjuan Huang Hai Ren Xiankai Lu Xiuzhi Chen | 2019 | National Science Review2019,6,4: | 21
Enhanced strength and ductility of Mg-Gd-Y-Zr alloys by secondary extrusion显示文摘The Mg-12Gd-3Y-0.6Zr(GW123,wt.%)alloy was prepared by cast, and thermo-mechanically treated by single and secondary hot extrusion techniques. The microstructure, texture and mechanical properties of the extruded alloy were investigated. The results show that in different treated conditions the microstructure is mainly composed ofα-Mg solid solution and second phases of Mg_(3)Y_(3)Gd_(2) and Mg_(5)(GdY)precipitates.The best mechanical properties are achieved in the secondary extruded alloy after ageing, with the ultimate tensile strength(UTS),tensile yield strength(TYS)and elongation(ɛ)being 446 MPa,350 MPa and 10.2%at room temperature.A weak texture aligned with〈101¯0〉||ED(extrusion direction)component and spread from〈101¯0〉to〈112¯0〉poles was obtained in secondary extrusion, which is caused by the occurrence of dynamic recrystallization(DRX)in shear bands for texture randomization. The fracture modes in extruded GW123 alloy are mixed pattern of transgranular and intergranular fracture,as well as cleavage fracture. The strengthening mechanisms were quantitatively analysed from the different aspects using the measured microstructural parameters. The grain boundaries and solid solution strengthening were the main contributors to the high tensile strength of the GW123 alloy. | X.Li W.Qi K.Zheng N.Zhou | 2013 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2013,1,1: | 21
Analysis of Micro-texture during Secondary Recrystallization in a Hi-B Electrical Steel显示文摘The understanding of Goss texture in Hi-B electrical steels possesses significant industrial and academic value, thus attracts worldwide attention. The prevailing models for sharp Goss texture formation during secondary recrystallization are CSL (coincident site lattice) boundary theory and HE (high energy) boundary theory. These theories stress the key factor of preferred growth and the difference between them only lies in the specific selection manner. This work examined the texture gradient in primarily recrystallized sheet and demonstrated its possible influence on the formation of secondary grains, and then determined the micro- texture during different stages of secondary recrystallization using EBSD (electron back-scattered diffraction) technique, finally analyzed a special type of secondary grains with near Brass orientation, which were detected in the later stage of secondary recrystallization, and discussed its origin and effect in terms of surface energy effect. The results indicate that texture gradient in primarily recrystallized sheet will lead to a multi-stage formation of Goss texture, namely, early stage of secondary grains with various orientations in subsurface region, intermediate stage of preferred growth of Goss grains into center layer and re-grow back to the surface and the final stage of Goss grain growth by swallowing slowly the island grains with the help of H2 atmosphere. | Mengqi Yan Hao Qian Ping Yang Weimin Mao Qiwu Jian Wenxu Jin | 2011 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2011,27,11: | 16
Effects of cold and warm cross-rolling on microstructure and texture evolution of AZ31B magnesium alloy sheet显示文摘Mg alloys conventionally rolled often present strong basal textures that affect negatively further deformations, limiting their applications. The present research found that cross-rolling experiences in adequate conditions can weaken those intense basal textures as a result of the interaction of deformation mechanisms and dynamic recrystallization. The effects of rolling temperature and strain rate on the microstructure and texture of an AZ31B magnesium alloy sheet generated heterogeneous microstructure where the initial basal texture was strengthened during cold cross-rolling and it was gradually weakening by the rolling reduction and the rolling temperature increases in such a way that a rather weak basal fiber was produced applying reductions higher than 15%at temperatures higher than 200℃.Their ODF functions supported the texture weakening, exhibiting a combination of two crystallographic orientations represented by{0001}<211^(-)0>and{0001}<101^(-)0>. | Litzy Lina Choquechambi Catorceno Hamilton Ferreira Gomes de Abreu Angelo Fernando Padilha | 2018 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2018,6,2: | 16
Prediction of different stages of rectal cancer: Texture analysis based on diffusion-weighted images and apparent diffusion coefficient maps显示文摘BACKGROUND It is evident that an accurate evaluation of T and N stage rectal cancer is essential for treatment planning. It has not been extensively investigated whether texture features derived from diffusion-weighted imaging(DWI)images and apparent diffusion coefficient(ADC)maps are associated with the extent of local invasion(pathological stage T1-2 vs T3-4)and nodal involvement(pathological stage N0 vs N1-2)in rectal cancer.AIM To predict different stages of rectal cancer using texture analysis based on DWI images and ADC maps.METHODS One hundred and fifteen patients with pathologically proven rectal cancer, who underwent preoperative magnetic resonance imaging, including DWI,were enrolled, retrospectively. The ADC measurements(ADCmean,ADCmin,ADCmax)as well as texture features, including the gray level co-occurrence matrix parameters, the gray level run-length matrix parameters and wavelet parameters were calculated based on DWI(b=0 and b=1000)images and the ADC maps.Independent sample t-tests or Mann-Whitney U tests were used for statistical analysis.Multivariate logistic regression analysis was conducted to establish the models. The predictive performance was validated by receiver operating characteristic curve analysis.RESULTS Dissimilarity, sum average, information correlation and run-length nonuniformity from DWIb=0 images, gray level nonuniformity, run percentage and run-length nonuniformity from DWIb=1000 images, and dissimilarity and run percentage from ADC maps were found to be independent predictors of local invasion(stage T3-4).The area under the operating characteristic curve of the model reached 0.793 with a sensitivity of 78.57%and a specificity of 74.19%.Sum average, gray level nonuniformity and the horizontal components of symlet transform(SymletH)from DWIb=0 images, sum average, information correlation, long run low gray level emphasis and SymletH from DWIb=1000 images, and ADCmax,ADCmean and information correlation from ADC maps were identified as independent predictors of nodal involvement. The area under the operating characteristic curve of the model reached 0.802 with a sensitivity of 80.77%and a specificity of 68.25%.CONCLUSION Texture features extracted from DWI images and ADC maps are useful clues for predicting pathological T and N stages in rectal cancer. | Jian-Dong Yin Li-Rong Song He-Cheng Lu Xu Zheng | 2020 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2020,26,17: | 15
Coal–rock interface detection on the basis of image texture features显示文摘Based on the stability and inequality of texture features between coal and rock, this study used the digital image analysis technique to propose a coal–rock interface detection method.By using gray level co-occurrence matrix,twenty-two texture features were extracted from the images of coal and rock.Data dimension of the feature space reduced to four by feature selection, which was according to a separability criterion based on inter-class mean difference and within-class scatter. The experimental results show that the optimized features were effective in improving the separability of the samples and reducing the time complexity of the algorithm. In the optimized low-dimensional feature space, the coal–rock classifer was set up using the fsher discriminant method.Using the 10-fold cross-validation technique, the performance of the classifer was evaluated, and an average recognition rate of 94.12%was obtained. The results of comparative experiments show that the identifcation performance of the proposed method was superior to the texture description method based on gray histogram and gradient histogram. | Sun Jiping Su Bo | 2013 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2013,23,5: | 15

Preparation and anisotropic properties of textured structural ceramics: A review显示文摘Ceramics are usually composed of randomly oriented grains and intergranular phases, so their properties are the statistical average along each direction and show isotropy corresponding to the uniform microstructures. Some methods have been developed to achieve directional grain arrangement and preferred orientation growth during ceramic preparation, and then textured ceramics with anisotropic properties are obtained. Texture microstructures give particular properties to ceramics along specific directions, which can effectively expand their application fields. In this review, typical texturing techniques suitable for ceramic materials, such as hot working, magnetic alignment, and templated grain growth(TGG), are discussed. Several typical textured structural ceramics including α-Al2O3 and related nacre bioinspired ceramics, Si3N4 and SiAlON, h-BN, MB2 matrix ultra-high temperature ceramics, MAX phases and their anisotropic properties are presented. | Zhuo ZHANG Xiaoming DUAN Baofu QIU Zhihua YANG Delong CAI Peigang HE Dechang JIA Yu ZHOU | 2019 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2019,8,3: | 14

High- and Ultrahigh-pressure Metamorphism and Retrogressive Textures of Gneiss in the Donghai Area——Evidence from gneisses in drillhole ZK2304显示文摘In the gneisses from the drillhole ZK2304 of the Donghai area, there have been preserved high- and ultrahigh-pressure metamorphic mineral assemblages, a series of complicated retrogressive textures and relevant metamorphic reactions. In addition to garnet, jadeititic-clinopyroxene and rutile, other peak stage (M2) minerals in some gneisses include phengite, aragonite and coesite or quartz pseudomorphs after coesite. The typical peak-stage mineral assemblages in gneisses are characterized by garnet + jadeitic-clinopyroxene + rutile + coesite, garnet + jadeitic-clinopyroxene + phengite + rutile ± coesite and garnet + jadeitic-clinopyroxene + aragonite + rutile ± coesite. The grossular content (Gro) in garnet is high and may reach 50. 1 mol%. The SiO2 content of phengite ranges from 54.37% to 54.84% with 3.54-3.57 p.f.u. Quartz pseudomorphs after coesite occur as inclusions in garnet. The gneisses of the Donghai area have been subjected to multistage recrystallization and exhibit a closewise P-T | LIU Fulai, XU Zhiqin, XU Huifen and YANG Jingsui Institute of Geology, CAGS, 26 Baiwanzhuang Rd., Beijing 100037 Zhu Xiling | 1999 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)1999,73,3: | 12
A survey of the state-of-the-art in patch-based synthesis显示文摘This paper surveys the state-of-the-art of research in patch-based synthesis. Patch-based methods synthesize output images by copying small regions from exemplar imagery. This line of research originated from an area called 'texture synthesis', which focused on creating regular or semi-regular textures from small exemplars. However, more recently, much research has focused on synthesis of larger and more diverse imagery, such as photos, photo collections, videos, and light fields. Additionally, recent research has focused on customizing the synthesis process for particular problem domains, such as synthesizing artistic or decorative brushes, synthesis of rich materials, and synthesis for 3D fabrication. This report investigates recent papers that follow these themes, with a particular emphasis on papers published since 2009,when the last survey in this area was published. This survey can serve as a tutorial for readers who are not yet familiar with these topics, as well as provide comparisons between these papers, and highlight some open problems in this area. | Connelly Barnes Fang-Lue Zhang | 2017 | Computational Visual Media2017,3,1: | 12

Rolling texture and its effect on tensile property of a near-α titanium alloy Ti60 plate显示文摘Rolling texture and its effect on tensile properties of Ti60 alloy plates were investigated in the present study. The plates were β-rolled at 1070℃ and(α+β)-rolled at 980℃, using uni-directionally rolling(UDR) and cross-directionally rolling(CDR) processes, respectively.β-rolled plates exhibited weak textures, which were attributed to the dispersive orientations of secondary α during the β→α phase transformation. Strong deformation textures formed in(α+β)-rolled plates as a result of slipping mechanisms: the strong T-type texture in UDR plate was related to {10 1 0}[11 2 0] slipping, while the B-type texture in CDR plate was relevant with {0001}[11 2 0] slip. Strong T-type textures led to anisotropic tensile properties. B-type textures would decrease such an anisotropy. The(α+β)-CDR process was found to be a candidate process for reducing anisotropy of Ti60 alloy plates. | Wenyuan Li Zhiyong Chen Jianrong Liu Shaoxiang Zhu Guoxin Sui Qingjiang Wang | 2019 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2019,35,5: | 11

Texture analysis on gadoxetic acid enhanced-MRI for predicting Ki-67 status in hepatocellular carcinoma: A prospective study显示文摘Objective: To investigate the value of whole-lesion texture analysis on preoperative gadoxetic acid enhanced magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) for predicting tumor Ki-67 status after curative resection in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Methods: This study consisted of 89 consecutive patients with surgically confirmed HCC. Texture features were extracted from multiparametric MRI based on whole-lesion regions of interest. The Ki-67 status was immunohistochemical determined and classified into low Ki-67(labeling index ≤15%) and high Ki-67(labeling index >15%) groups. Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(LASSO) and multivariate logistic regression were applied for generating the texture signature, clinical nomogram and combined nomogram. The discrimination power, calibration and clinical usefulness of the three models were evaluated accordingly. Recurrence-free survival(RFS) rates after curative hepatectomy were also compared between groups. Results: A total of 13 texture features were selected to construct a texture signature for predicting Ki-67 status in HCC patients(C-index: 0.878, 95% confidence interval: 0.791-0.937). After incorporating texture signature to the clinical nomogram which included significant clinical variates(AFP, BCLC-stage, capsule integrity, tumor margin, enhancing capsule), the combined nomogram showed higher discrimination ability(C-index: 0.936 vs. 0.795,P<0.001), good calibration(P>0.05 in Hosmer-Lemeshow test) and higher clinical usefulness by decision curve analysis. RFS rate was significantly lower in the high Ki-67 group compared with the low Ki-67 group after curative surgery(63.27% vs. 85.00%, P<0.05).Conclusions: Texture analysis on gadoxetic acid enhanced MRI can serve as a noninvasive approach to preoperatively predict Ki-67 status of HCC after curative resection. The combination of texture signature and clinical factors demonstrated the potential to further improve the prediction performance. | Zheng Ye Hanyu Jiang Jie Chen Xijiao Liu Yi Wei Chunchao Xia Ting Duan Likun Cao Zhen Zhang Bin Song | 2019 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2019,31,5: | 11

Influence of different extrusion processes on mechanical properties of magnesium alloy显示文摘AZ31 Mg alloy sheets were processed by the conventional symmetrical extrusion(CSE)and the asymmetric extrusion(ASE).Progressive-asymmetric extrusion(PASE)and severe strain-asymmetric extrusion(SASE)were employed for ASE processes. The texture at near-surface and mid-layer zones of ASE sheets was diverse penetrating the normal direction(ND).This was attributed to an additional asymmetric shear strain deformation during the ASE process.(0002)basal planes of PASE sheets tilt to the shear deformation direction.Meanwhile, the basal texture intensity of PASE sheets has been weakened compared with one in CSE sheets.Grain refinement and tilted weak basal texture obtained by SASE process dramatically enhances the room temperature strength and plasticity of the extruded AZ31 magnesium alloy sheets. The microstructure and mechanical responses were examined and discussed. | Qingshan Yang Bin Jiang Hucheng Pan Bo Song Zhongtao Jiang Jiahong Dai Lifei Wang Fusheng Pan | 2014 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2014,2,3: | 11
| 20 | The formation depth of coesite-bearing eclogite,Dabie UHPM zone,China, modified by tectono-original additional hydrostatic pressure显示文摘The knowledge that hydrostatic pressure is equal to the gravity value of the overlying rocks in studying a dynamic state of certain underground site is argued. It is suggested that the stress field T in the crust is a combination or superposition of total hydrostatic pressure P with differential stress σ,and the total hydrostatic pressure P at any point in the crust comprises two parts: one is spherical stress tensor PG caused by the gravity, and the other is spherical stress tensor Ps caused by tectonic stress; therefore P could not be attributed to the gravity of overlying rocks only. The results obtained by a finite-element simulation indicate that the tectono-original additional hydrostatic pressures Ps decrease gradually from the compressive zone (pcS) to the shear zone (PSHs)and to the tensile zone (PTs), i.e.Pcs>PsHs>PTs in the same depth.
