| 2 | Methane and nitrous oxide concentration and emission flux of Yangtze Delta plain river net显示文摘Methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O) saturation concentration and gas-water interface emission flux in surface water of the Yangtze Delta plain river net were investigated in summer at representative sites including the upper reaches of the Huangpu River and the rivers in the Chongming Island. The results show that the CH4 concentration in river water ranged from 0.30±0.03 to 6.66±0.14 μmol.L-1, and N2O concentration ranged from 13.8±2.33 to 435±116 nmol.L-1. River surface water had a very high satura- tion level of CH4 (from 468±49.0% to 11560±235%) and that of N2O (from 175±29.5% to 4914±1304%). Dissolved oxygen (DO) was the primary factor controlling the CH4 concentration in water. N2O concentration had significant negative correlation with salinity and a significant positive correlation with nitrate (NO3-), nitrite (NO2-), chemical oxygen demand (CODcr) concentration and pH of river water. CH4 and N2O of river water were brought about mainly by methanogenesis and denitrification in river bottom sediment that diffused through sediment-water interface into the water body and then into atmosphere through the gas-water interface. The emission flux of CH4 and N2O at river gas-water interface reached 778±59.8 and 236±63.6 μmol.m-2.h-1, respectively in summer. | 5 | Methods of computed tomography screening and management of lung cancer in Tianjin: design of a population-based cohort study显示文摘Objective: European lung cancer screening studies using computed tomography(CT) have shown that a management protocol based on measuring lung nodule volume and volume doubling time(VDT) is more specific for early lung cancer detection than a diameter-based protocol. However, whether this also applies to a Chinese population is unclear. The aim of this study is to compare the diagnostic performance of a volume-based protocol with a diameter-based protocol for lung cancer detection and optimize the nodule management criteria for a Chinese population.Methods: This study has a population-based, prospective cohort design and includes 4000 participants from the Hexi district of Tianjin, China. Participants will undergo low-dose chest CT at baseline and after 1 year. Initially, detected lung nodules will be evaluated for diameter and managed according to a routine diameter-based protocol(Clinical Practice Guideline in Oncology for Lung Cancer Screening, Version 2.2018). Subsequently, lung nodules will be evaluated for volume and management will be simulated according to a volume-based protocol and VDT(a European lung nodule management protocol). Participants will be followed up for 4 years to evaluate lung cancer incidence and mortality. | 6 | The variation of sediments organic carbon content in Chongming east tidal flat during Scirpus mariqueter growing stage显示文摘The investigations on the organic carbon (OC) of core sediments were carried out in Chongming easttidalflat(CM ) during Scirpus mariqueter growing stage (from Aprilto December 2004)in Yangtze Estuary.The Yangtze Riverannually transports a runoffdischarge of30,000 m3/s, carrying about480 million tons ofsediments to the estuarine and coastalarea,which formed a great OC pool.In the sampling spots,seven quadratsof50 cm × 50 cm and five sedimentscoresof20 cm deep (40 cm deep in December)were randomly established in orderto collectvegetations and core sediments samples during the low tide each month except November.After pretreatment,the core sediments were sieved and theirOC contents were measured according to the potassium dichromate method. | 7 | Preparation and Tribological Properties of Lanthanum-doped Muscovite Composite Particles as Lubricant Additives in Lithium Grease显示文摘Lanthanum-doped muscovite(MC) composite particles(hereinafter abbreviated as La-MC) were prepared by the mechanical solid-state-chemistry-reaction method, followed by surface modification with oleic acid. The microstructure of materials was characterized by SEM, XRD, EDS and FTIR. Furthermore, the friction-reduction and anti-wear properties of MC and La-MC as lubricant additives in lithium grease were evaluated using a four-ball friction and wear tester. The results showed that La(OH)_3 nanoparticles were coated on the surface of muscovite. Both MC and La-MC can effectively improve the friction-reduction and anti-wear properties of lithium grease and La-MC presents better tribological properties than MC. | 9 | EVchain: An Anonymous Blockchain-Based System for Charging–Connected Electric Vehicles显示文摘Purchases of electric vehicles have been increasing in recent years. These vehicles differ from traditional fossil-fuel-based vehicles especially in the time consumed to keep them running. Electric-Vehicle-charging Service Providers(EVSPs) must arrange reasonable charging times for users in advance. Most EVSP services are based on third-party platforms, but reliance on third-party platforms creates a lack of security, leaving users vulnerable to attacks and user-privacy leakages. In this paper, we propose an anonymous blockchain-based system for charging-connected electric vehicles that eliminates third-party platforms through blockchain technology and the establishment of a multi-party security system between electric vehicles and EVSPs. In our proposed system, digital certificates are obtained by completing distributed Public Key Infrastructure(distributed-PKI) identity registration,with the user registration kept separate from the verification process, which eliminates dependence on the EVSP for information security. In the verification process, we adopt smart contracts to solve problems associated with centralized verification and opaque services. Furthermore, we utilize zero-knowledge proof and ring-signature superposition to realize completely anonymous verification, which ensures undeniability and unforgeability with no detriment to anonymity. | 12 | Rational integration of defense and repair synergy on PEEK osteoimplants via biomimetic peptide clicking strategy显示文摘Polyetheretherketone(PEEK)has been widely used as orthopedic and dental materials due to excellent mechanical and physicochemical tolerance.However,its biological inertness,poor osteoinduction,and weak antibacterial activity make the clinical applications in a dilemma.Inspired by the mussel adhesion mechanism,here we reported a biomimetic surface strategy for rational integration and optimization of anti-infectivity and osteo-inductivity onto PEEK surfaces using a mussel foot proteins(Mfps)-mimic peptide with clickable azido terminal.The peptide enables mussel-like adhesion on PEEK biomaterial surfaces,leaving azido groups for the further steps of biofunctionalizations.In this study,antimicrobial peptide(AMP)and osteogenic growth peptide(OGP)were bioorthogonally clicked on the azido-modified PEEK biomaterials to obtain a dual-effect of host defense and tissue repair.Since bioorthogonal clicking allows precise collocation between AMP and OGP through changing their feeding molar ratios,an optimal PEEK surface was finally obtained in this research,which could long-term inhibit bacterial growth,stabilize bone homeostasis and facilitate interfacial bone regeneration.In a word,this upgraded mussel surface strategy proposed in this study is promising for the surface bioengineering of inert medical implants,in particular,achieving rational integration of multiple biofunctions to match clinical requirements. | Meng Li Jiaxiang Bai Huaqiang Tao Li Hao Weiling Yin Xiaoxue Ren Ang Gao Ning Li Miao Wang Shiyuan Fang Yaozeng Xu Liang Chen Huilin Yang Huaiyu Wang Guoqing Pan Dechun Geng | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022,7,2: | 2 |
