1Crustal and upper mantle structure and the deep seismogenic environment in the source regions of the Lushan earthquake and the Wenchuan earthquake显示文摘Following the M w 7.9 Wenchuan earthquake, the M w 6.6 Lushan earthquake is another devastating earthquake that struck the Longmenshan Fault Zone (LFZ) and caused severe damages. In this study, we collected continuous broadband ambient noise seismic data and earthquake event data from Chinese provincial digital seismic network, and then utilized ambient noise tomography method and receiver function method to obtain high resolution shear wave velocity structure, crustal thickness, and Poisson ratio in the earthquake source region and its surroundings. Based on the tomography images and the receiver function results, we further analyzed the deep seismogenic environment of the LFZ and its neighborhood. We reveal three main findings: (1) There is big contrast of the shear wave velocities across the LFZ. (2) Both the Lushan earthquake and the Wenchuan earthquake occurred in the regions where crustal shear wave velocity and crustal thickness change dramatically. The rupture faults and the aftershock zones are also concentrated in the areas where the lateral gradients of crustal seismic wave speed and crustal thickness change significantly, and the focal depths of the earthquakes are concentrated in the transitional depths where shear wave velocities change dramatically from laterally uniform to laterally non-uniform. (3) The Wenchuan earthquake and its aftershocks occurred in low Poisson ratio region, while the Lushan earthquake sequences are located in high Poisson ratio zone. We proposed that the effect of the dramatic lateral variation of shear wave velocity, and the gravity potential energy differences caused by the big contrast in the topography and the crustal thickness across the LFZ may constitute the seismogenic environment for the strong earthquakes in the LFZ, and the Poisson ratio difference between the rocks in the south and north segments of the Longmenshan Fault zone may explain the 5 years delay of the occurrence of the Lushan earthquake than the Wenchuan earthquake.ZHENG Yong GE Can XIE ZuJun YANG YingJie XIONG Xiong HSU HouTze 2013Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,7:37
2Source parameters inversion of the 2013 Lushan earthquake by combining teleseismic waveforms and local seismograms显示文摘On April 20, 2013, a magnitude M s 7.0 earthquake occurred in Lushan, Sichuan Province, China, and caused heavy casualties and economic losses. Based on the local broadband waveforms in Sichuan and adjacent provinces regional networks and teleseismic broadband records from IRIS stations, the focal mechanism and the focal depth are determined by the CAP (Cut And Paste) and its upgraded methods, CAPtele and CAPjoint, respectively. The results show that the focal mechanisms and depth from different methods are steady, and the best double couple solution derived from the joint inversion is 210°, 44°, and 91° for strike, dip, and rake angles respectively for one nodal plane and 29°, 46°, and 89° for another with 16 km focal depth and M w 6.66 moment magnitude. In order to verify the reliability of the results, a number of tests are performed based on local seismograms with different velocity models. They indicate that there is about 10 degree's fluctuation in focal mechanisms and about 2 km variation in focal depth with a complex velocity structure. 4Chemical characteristics of haze particles in Xi'an during Chinese Spring Festival: Impact of fireworks burning显示文摘Fireworks burning releases massive fine particles and gaseous pollutants, significantly deteriorating air quality during Chinese Lunar New Year(LNY) period. To investigate the impact of the fireworks burning on the atmospheric aerosol chemistry, 1-hr time resolution of PM_(2.5) samples in Xi'an during the winter of 2016 including the LNY were collected and detected for inorganic ions, acidity and liquid water content(LWC) of the fine aerosols. PM_(2.5) during the LNY was 167 ± 87 μg/m^3, two times higher than the China National Ambient Air Quality Standard(75 μg/m^3). K^+(28 wt.% of the total ion mass) was the most abundant ion in the LNY period, followed by SO_4^(2-)(25 wt.%) and Cl-(18 wt.%). In contrast, NO_3^-(34 wt.%) was the most abundant species in the haze periods(hourly PM32-2.5> 75 μg/m), followed by SO_4(29.2 wt.%) and NH_4^+(16.3 wt.%), while SO_4^(2-)(35 wt.%) was the most abundant species in the clean periods(hourly PM_(2.5)< 75 μg/m^3), followed by NO_3^-(23.1 wt.%) and NH_4^+(11 wt.%). Being different from the acidic nature in the non-LNY periods, aerosol in the LNY period presented an alkaline nature with a pH value of 7.8 ± 1.3. LWC during the LNY period showed a robust linear correlation with K_2SO_4 and KCl, suggesting that aerosol hygroscopicity was dominated by inorganic salts derived from fireworks burning. 5Low-threshold topological nanolasers based on the second-order corner state显示文摘Topological lasers are immune to imperfections and disorder.They have been recently demonstrated based on many kinds of robust edge states,which are mostly at the microscale.The realization of 2D on-chip topological nanolasers with a small footprint,a low threshold and high energy efficiency has yet to be explored.Here,we report the first experimental demonstration of a topological nanolaser with high performance in a 2D photonic crystal slab.A topological nanocavity is formed utilizing the Wannier-type 0D corner state.Lasing behaviour with a low threshold of approximately 1μW and a high spontaneous emission coupling factor of 0.25 is observed with quantum dots as the active material.Such performance is much better than that of topological edge lasers and comparable to that of conventional photonic crystal nanolasers.Our experimental demonstration of a low-threshold topological nanolaser will be of great significance to the development of topological nanophotonic circuitry for the manipulation of photons in classical and quantum regimes.Weixuan Zhang Xin Xie Huiming Hao Jianchen Dang Shan Xiao Shushu Shi Haiqiao Ni Zhichuan Niu Can Wang Kuijuan Jin Xiangdong Zhang Xiulai Xu 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:10
6The effects of the guide field on the structures of electron density depletions in collisionless magnetic reconnection显示文摘Two-dimensional particle-in-cell simulations are performed to investigate the formation of electron density depletions in collisionless magnetic reconnection.In anti-parallel reconnection,the quadrupole structures of the out-of-plane magnetic field are formed,and four symmetric electron density depletion layers can be found along the separatrices due to the effects of magetic mirror.With the increase of the initial guide field,the symmetry of both the out-of-plane magnetic field and electron density depletion layers is distorted.When the initial guide field is sufficiently large,the electron density depletion layers along the lower left and upper right separatrices disappear.The parallel electric field in guide field reconnection is found to play an important role in forming such structures of the electron density depletion layers.The structures of the out-of-plane magnetic field By and electron depletion layers in anti-parallel and guide field reconnection are found to be related to electron flow or in-plane currents in the separatrix regions.In anti-parallel reconnection,electrons flow towards the X line along the separatrices,and are directed away from the X line along the magnetic field lines just inside the separatrices.In guide field reconnection,electrons can only flow towards the X line along the upper left and lower right separatrices due to the existence of the parallel electric field in these regions.LU San LU QuanMing CAO Yang HUANG Can XIE JinLin WANG Shui 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,1:8
7Electron dynamics in collisionless magnetic reconnection显示文摘Magnetic reconnection provides a physical mechanism for fast energy conversion from magnetic energy to plasma kinetic energy. It is closely associated with many explosive phenomena in space plasma, usually collisionless in character. For this reason, researchers have become more interested in collisionless magnetic reconnection. In this paper, the various roles of electron dynamics in collisionless magnetic reconnection are reviewed. First, at the ion inertial length scale, ions and electrons are decoupled. The resulting Hall effect determines the reconnection electric field. Moreover, electron motions determine the current system inside the reconnection plane and the electron density cavity along the separatrices. The current system in this plane produces an out-of-plane magnetic field. Second, at the electron inertial length scale, the anisotropy of electron pressure determines the magnitude of the reconnection electric field in this region. The production of energetic electrons, which is an important characteristic during magnetic reconnection, is accelerated by the reconnection electric field. In addition, the different topologies, temporal evolution and spatial distribution of the magnetic field affect the accelerating process of electrons and determine the final energy of the accelerated electrons. Third, we discuss results from simulations and spacecraft observations on the secondary magnetic islands produced due to secondary instabilities around the X point, and the associated energetic electrons. Furthermore, progress in laboratory plasma studies is also discussed in regard to electron dynamics during magnetic reconnection. 8A novel tobacco gene coding for a product similar to bacterial two-component regulators显示文摘The two-component signaling system has been studied in bacteria. It takes part in signal transduction of adaptive behavior. Recent studies have shown that a similar two-component system is also present in eukaryotes. Examples of this are ETR1 and CKI1 genes which may involve the signal transduction of plant hormone ethylene and cytokinin respectively. The cloning and characterization of a novel gene ( NTHK1 ) fragment from tobacco are presented.Its partial sequence codes for a product which shows similarity to many two-component signaling proteins. Southern blot analysis indicated that there are 2 to 3 copies of NTHK1 gene in tobacco genome (allotetraploid). Homologous genes may also exist in other plants such as Arabidopsis, soybean and spinach. 9Omics-based integrated analysis identified ATRX as a biomarker associated with glioma diagnosis and prognosis显示文摘Objective:ATRX is a multifunctional protein that is tightly regulated by and implicated in transcriptional regulation and chromatin remodeling.Numerous studies have shown that genetic alterations in ATRX play a significant role in gliomas.This study aims to further determine the relationship between ATRX and glioma prognosis and identify possible mechanisms for exploring the biological significance of ATRX using large data sets.Methods:We used The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)database and 130 immunohistochemical results to confirm the difference in ATRX mutations in high-and low-grade gliomas.An online analysis of the TCGA glioma datasets using the cBioPortal platform was performed to study the relationship between ATRX mutations and IDH1,TP53,CDKN2 A and CDKN2 B mutations in the corresponding TCGA glioma dataset.In combination with clinical pathology data,the biological significance of the relationships were analyzed.Gene Ontology(GO)and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)pathway analyses and annotations of all adjacent genes in the network were performedin the Database for Annotation,Visualization and Integrated Discovery(DAVID)and R language.A protein-protein interaction(PPI)network was constructed,and the interactions of all adjacent nodes were analyzed by the String database and using Cytoscape software.Results:In the selected TCGA glioma datasets,a total of 2,228 patients were queried,21%of whom had ATRX alterations,which co-occurred frequently with TP53 and IDH1 mutations.ATRX alterations are associated with multiple critical molecular events,which results in a significantly improved overall survival(OS)rate.In low-grade gliomas,ATRX mutations are significantly associated with multiple important molecular events,such as ZNF274 and FDXR at mRNA and protein levels.A functional cluster analysis revealed that these genes played a role in chromatin binding and P53,and a link was observed between ATRX and IDH1 and TP53 in the interaction network.ATRX and TP53 are important nodes in the network and have potential links with the blood oxygen imbalance.Conclusions:ATRX mutations have clinical implications for the molecular diagnosis of gliomas and can provide diagnostic and prognostic information for gliomas.ATRX is expected to serve as a new therapeutic target.Yingbin Xie Yanli Tan Chao Yang Xuehao Zhang Can Xu Xiaoxia Qiao Jianglong Xu Shaohui Tian Chuan Fang Chunsheng Kang 2019Cancer Biology & Medicine2019,16,4:5
10Overall optimization of Rankine cycle system for waste heat recovery of heavy-duty vehicle diesel engines considering the cooling power consumption显示文摘The Rankine cycle system for waste heat recovery of heavy-duty vehicle diesel engines has been regarded as a promising technique to reduce fuel consumption. Its heat dissipation in the condensation process, however, should be taken away in time, which is an energy-consuming process. A fan-assisted auxiliary water-cooling system is employed in this paper. Results at 1300 r/min and 50% load indicate that the cooling pump and cooling fan together consume 7.66% of the recovered power. What's worse for the heavy load, cooling accessories may deplete of all the recovered power of the Rankine cycle system. Afterwards, effects of the condensing pressure and water feeding temperature are investigated, based on which a cooling power consumption model is established. Finally, an overall efficiency optimization is conducted to balance the electric power generation and cooling power consumption, taking condensing pressure, pressure ratio and exhaust bypass valve as major variables. The research suggests that the priority is to increase condensing pressure and open exhaust bypass valve appropriately at high speed and heavy load to reduce the cooling power consumption, while at low speed and light load, a lower condensing pressure is favored and the exhaust bypass valve should be closed making the waste heat recovered as much as possible. Within the sub-critical region, a larger pressure ratio yields higher overall efficiency improvement at medium-low speed and load. But the effects taper off at high speed and heavy load. For a given vehicular heavy-duty diesel engine, the overall efficiency can be improved by 3.37% at 1300 r/min and 25% load using a Rankine cycle system to recover exhaust energy. 13Tobacco two-component gene NTHK2显示文摘By using a previously isolated tobacco two-component gene NTHK1 as a probe, we screened a cDNA library and obtained a homologous gene designated NTHK2. Sequencing analysis revealed that NTHK2 encoded a putative ethylene receptor homolog and contained a histidine kinase domain and a receiver domain. In the histidine kinase domain, the histidine at the phosphorylation site was replaced by an asparagine. Southern analysis indicated that NTHK2 was present at low copies in tobacco genome. The expression of NTHK2 was studied using a competitive RT-PCR method. It was found that, in young flower buds, NTHK2 was expressed abundantly, while in other organs or tissues, it was expressed in a low level. When leaf was subjected to wounding (cutting) treatment, NTHK2 expression was increased. When tobacco seedlings were stressed with PEG and heat shock, NTHK2 transcription was also enhanced. Other treatments showed little effects. 14Gold nanoparticle-directed autophagy intervention for antitumor immunotherapy via inhibiting tumor-associated macrophage M2 polarization显示文摘Tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs),one of the dominating constituents of tumor microenvironment,are important contributors to cancer progression and treatment resistance.Therefore,regulation of TAMs polarization from M2 phenotype towards M1 phenotype has emerged as a new strategy for tumor immunotherapy.Herein,we successfully initiated antitumor immunotherapy by inhibiting TAMs M2 polarization via autophagy intervention with polyethylene glycol-conjugated gold nanoparticles(PEG-Au NPs).PEG-Au NPs suppressed TAMs M2 polarization in both in vitro and in vivo models,elicited antitumor immunotherapy and inhibited subcutaneous tumor growth in mice.As demonstrated by the m RFP-GFP-LC3 assay and analyzing the autophagy-related proteins(LC3,beclin1 and P62),PEGAu NPs induced autophagic flux inhibition in TAMs,which is attributed to the PEG-Au NPs induced lysosome alkalization and membrane permeabilization.Besides,TAMs were prone to polarize towards M2phenotype following autophagy activation,whereas inhibition of autophagic flux could reduce the M2polarization of TAMs.Our results revealed a mechanism underlying PEG-Au NPs induced antitumor immunotherapy,where PEG-Au NPs reduce TAMs M2 polarization via induction of lysosome dysfunction and autophagic flux inhibition.This study elucidated the biological effects of nanomaterials on TAMs polarization and provided insight into harnessing the intrinsic immunomodulation capacity of nanomaterials for effective cancer treatment.Siyue Zhang Fangyuan Xie Kaichun Li He Zhang You Yin Yuan Yu Guangzhao Lu Shihao Zhang Yan Wei Ke Xu Yan Wu Hong Jin Lan Xiao Leilei Bao Can Xu Yulin Li Ying Lu Jie Gao 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,7:2

17Primary Testicular NK/T-Cell Lymphoma:A Study of Two Cases and Review of Literature显示文摘Primary testicular NK/T-cell lymphoma is an extremely rare entity progressed rapidly.The aim of this study was to examine clinical and pathological features of primary testicular NK/T-cell lymphoma and to investigate the effective diagnosis and prognosis.In this paper,the two cases of primary testicular NK/T-cell lymphoma were observed by light microscopy,immunohistochemistry and examined by in situ hybridization for Epstein-Barr Virus(EBV) DNA and the literatures were reviewed.The two patients respectively present with bilateral and right-side painless testicular enlargement.The morphology of neoplastic cells of case 1 were small to medium,tumor cells of case 2 were small,medium and large mixed.The tumor cells grew diffusely with irregular and distort nuclear,destructed the organizational structure of the normal testis,and damaged blood vessels,meanwhile,coagulation necrosis was exist.Immunohistochemical staining of neoplastic cells showed positive for CD45,CD2,CD56,CD3ε(cytoplasm staining pattern),CD45RO and Granzyme B,and negative for CD57,CD20,CD79α,CD30,CK,MPO,TdT,Bcl-2 and PLAP were negative.In addition,the EBV DNA was detected in the lymphoma by In situ hybridization.In conclusion,the expression of CD56,CD3ε,and Granzyme B associated proteins and EBV examination by in situ hybridization play a vital role in diagnosis and differential diagnosis of primary testicular NK/T-cell lymphoma.Xiao Lin Dan Li Peng Xie Can Mi Qing Lin 2010Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2010,22,3:1

20Inhibition of aberrant Hif1αactivation delays intervertebral disc degeneration in adult mice显示文摘The intervertebral disc(IVD) is the largest avascular tissue. Hypoxia-inducible factors(HIFs) play essential roles in regulating cellular adaptation in the IVD under physiological conditions. Disc degeneration disease(DDD) is one of the leading causes of disability, and current therapies are ineffective. This study sought to explore the role of HIFs in DDD pathogenesis in mice. The findings of this study showed that among HIF family members, Hif1α was significantly upregulated in cartilaginous endplate(EP) and annulus fibrosus(AF) tissues from human DDD patients and two mouse models of DDD compared with controls. Conditional deletion of the E3 ubiquitin ligase Vhl in EP and AF tissues of adult mice resulted in upregulated Hif1α expression and age-dependent IVD degeneration. Aberrant Hif1α activation enhanced glycolytic metabolism and suppressed mitochondrial function. On the other hand, genetic ablation of the Hif1α gene delayed DDD pathogenesis in Vhl-deficient mice. Administration of 2-methoxyestradiol(2ME2), a selective Hif1α inhibitor, attenuated experimental IVD degeneration in mice.
