1Structural and biochemical mechanism for increased infectivity and immune evasion of Omicron BA.2 variant compared to BA.1 and their possible mouse origins显示文摘The Omicron BA.2 variant has become a dominant infective strain worldwide.Receptor binding studies show that the Omicron BA.2 spike trimer exhibits 11-fold and 2-fold higher potency in binding to human ACE2 than the spike trimer from the wildtype(WT)and Omicron BA.1 strains.The structure of the BA.2 spike trimer complexed with human ACE2 reveals that all three receptor-binding domains(RBDs)in the spike trimer are in open conformation,ready for ACE2 binding,thus providing a basis for the increased infectivity of the BA.2 strain.JMB2002,a therapeutic antibody that was shown to efficiently inhibit Omicron BA.1,also shows potent neutralization activities against Omicron BA.2.In addition,both BA.1 and BA.2 spike trimers are able to bind to mouse ACE2 with high potency.In contrast,the WT spike trimer binds well to cat ACE2 but not to mouse ACE2.The structures of both BA.1 and BA.2 spike trimer bound to mouse ACE2 reveal the basis for their high affinity interactions.Together,these results suggest a possible evolution pathway for Omicron BA.1 and BA.2 variants via a human-cat-mouse-human circle,which could have important implications in establishing an effective strategy for combating SARS-CoV-2 viral infections.Youwei Xu Canrong Wu Xiaodan Cao Chunyin Gu Heng Liu Meriting Jiang Xiaoxi Wang Qingning Yuan Kai Wu Jia Liu Deyi Wang Xianqing He Xueping Wang Su-Jun Deng H.Eric Xu Wanchao Yin 2022Cell Research2022,32,7:6
2AN ANT COLONY ALGORITHM FOR YARD TRUCK SCHEDULING AND YARD LOCATION ASSIGNMENT PROBLEMS WITH PRECEDENCE CONSTRAINTS显示文摘This paper examines the yard truck scheduling,the yard location assignment for discharging containers,and the quay crane scheduling in container terminals.Taking into account the practical situation,we paid special attention to the loading and discharging precedence relationships between containers in the quay crane operations.A Mixed Integer Program(MIP) model is constructed,and a two-stage heuristic algorithm is proposed.In the first stage an Ant Colony Optimization(ACO) algorithm is employed to generate the yard location assignment for discharging containers.In the second stage,the integration of the yard truck scheduling and the quay crane scheduling is a flexible job shop problem,and an efficient greedy algorithm and a local search algorithm are proposed. 3Significance of KiSS-1 and S100A4 in the process of metastasis of gastric carcinoma显示文摘Objective: To detect the expression of KiSS-1 and S100A4 in the primary tumor tissues and lymphatic and visceral metastases and investigate its role in tumorigenesis and metastasis of gastric cancer. Methods: The protein expression of KiSS-1 and S100A4 in lymphatic and visceral metastases from advanced gastric cancer specimens was mainly examined by immunohistochemical staining and tissues microarray. Results: Immunohistochemical staining revealed reduced expression of KiSS-1 and up-regulated expression of S100A4 in lymph node and visceral metastases. Rates of KiSS-1 expression in normal tissues, primary tumor tissues, lymph node and visceral metastases were 95.8%, 74.6%, 60.9% and 57.5%. S100A4 expression in associated cases was 43.6%, 71.8%, 70.3% and 90.0%, respectively. Significant differences in KiSS-1 expression was signifi- cantly higher in normal tissues than that in primary tumor tissues (P<0.001). While significant differences of S100A4 expression could be seen between normal and cancer tissues (P<0.001) and between visceral and primary tumors (P<0.05). Conclusion: Tumor metastasis results from gradual accumulation of abnormal genetic alterations. 4Concentration and distribution of 17 organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) in seawater from the Japan Sea northward to the Arctic Ocean显示文摘Seventeen classic organochlorine pesticides in surface seawater were studied in terms of their composition pattern as well as their distribution pattern in the areas covering the Japan Sea,Okhotsk Sea,Bering Sea,Chukchi Sea and Arctic Ocean.Their concentrations varied,but roughly two levels were seen with one ranging between 0.1 and 1 ng L-1 for most HCH isomers and the other lower than 0.1 ng L-1 for other chemicals.Of the 17 target compounds,HCHs were dominant with a total concentration percentage generally more than 50%,and a relatively high concentration percentage of heptachlor and aldrine was also observed at scattered stations.The historical long-term trend of several target chemicals in the five sea zones considered was discussed in comparison with previous reports.Inter-sea zone comparison was carried out for individual chemicals by comparing the concentration variation in all five sea zones.A higher variation in concentration was generally found in the northern sea zones,namely the Bering Sea,Chukchi Sea and Arctic Ocean,for most target compounds.The sum concentration of the 17 target chemicals displayed a general trend of increasing northward from the Japan Sea to the Okhotsk Sea to the Bering Sea to the Arctic Ocean.Different latitudinal trends were found forγ-HCH andγ-HCH,and the reason of this difference was discussed by considering their divergence of thermodynamic properties,which could contribute to a slightly different fractionation effect during their northward transport driven by atmospheric long range transport.The source of the HCHs was identified by analyzing theγ-HCH/γ-HCH ratio,which was less than 4 without exception,indicating a component characteristic featuring a mixture of technical HCHs and lindane.In addition,the vertical distribution ofγ-HCH,γ-HCH and their ratio at station B80 was discussed.Different patterns were found in the upper 300 m while in layers from 300 m downward to 3500 m the patterns were fairly comparable.The vertical profiles were used to correlate the water mass distribution,based on which four layers were tentatively classified at station B80.CAI MingGang 1,2,QIU CanRong 1,SHEN Yuan 1,CAI MingHong 3,HUANG ShuiYing 1,QIAN BiHua 1,SUN JiongHui 1 & LIU XiaoYan 1 1Department of Oceanography,College of Oceanography and Environmental Science,Xiamen University,Xiamen 361005,China 2State Key Laboratory of Marine Environmental Science,Xiamen University,Xiamen 361005,China 3State Oceanic Administration Key Laboratory for Polar Science,Polar Research Institute of China,Shanghai 200136,China 2010Science China Chemistry2010,53,5:3
5A new type of Shipboard Meteorological Satellite Receiving-processing System显示文摘The Shipboard Meteorological Satellite Receiving-processing System (SMSRPS) is specially developed for the navigation meteorological safeguard of the Antarctic exploration ship over the sea ice area of the forth Ocean. This system can suit to the climate environment of very high temperature high moisture and very low temperature - supersaturation; it has a self-protection ability to against the hurricane - force wind over force 12 and the strong vibration during icebreaking, as well as strong magnetic disturbance. It has two sets of receiving-imagery processing systems for polar orbit low-resolution and quasi-stationary high-solution satellites. The key creation Points of this system are as follows: 1. the active gyro-control stabilization platform and a mixed mounting system of three rotating a - B and x -- y axes are used. It solved the tracing difficulties both in the low elevation angle and very high elevation angle of polar-orbit satellite, even in the status of ship moving with continuously changing its poition, direction and ship roll and pitch. 2. Imagery processing subsystem. The newest BORLAND-- DELPHI language and PASCAL language pro gramming software are used under WINDOWS 95 environment. It has a dynamic positioning nested-grid system and electric mapping grid data system. It can show the latitude-longitude of any point on the map, and marks any object such as ship, station or island, and draws the route. It can monitor cloud and temperature, forest fire, anomalous change of ocean and land. It can output satellite cloud maps of 24 bit with very high clarity. This system is very advanced in technique for the whole structure with the features of small volume, light weight and very low cost. It suits to very bad climate and ocean environment. Its imagery process ing system has complete functions with high resolution and being very easy to operate. It is not only suit to land use, but also and specially to all kinds of ship over the sea. It can be extended to domestic and international use. 14A Uniform Reference Line Based Differential Phase Shifter with Wide Phase Range and Wide Bandwidth显示文摘To implement the multi-way phase shifting maintaining the compact size and simplicity in structure,the uniform reference line concept was proposed for the differential phase shifter.However,the performance in bandwidth and phase range deteriorates with the additional requirements considered.To solve this problem,a quarter wavelength coupled line section loaded with open/short stubs is proposed as the basic element to implement the main line and also reference line.According to the theoretical analysis on this basic element,the loading stubs can be used to control the phase shift and also the phase slope of the basic element without affecting the amplitude property.With the predetermined parameters of the uniform reference line,only two parameters are required for the implementation of different differential phase shifts.This demonstrates the high simplicity of the proposed structure.For demonstration,an eight-way differential phase shifter operating at 3.5 GHz was implemented using the vertically installed planar structure.The prototype was further fabricated and measured.Good agreement between simulation and measurement can be observed.The implemented phase shifter can provide a wide range of phase shifting values from 45°to 315°with reference to the uniform reference line over a relative bandwidth of 62.3%.Canrong Fu Bowei Xu Shaoyong Zheng 2022China Communications2022,19,5:1

16Comparative genomics of orobanchaceous species with different parasitic lifestyles reveals the origin and stepwise evolution of plant parasitism显示文摘Orobanchaceae is the largest family of parasiticplants,containing autotrophic and parasiticplants with all degrees of parasitism.This makes it byfar the best family for studying the origin and evolution of plant parasitism.Here we provide three high-quality genomes of orobanchaceous plants,the autotrophic Lindenbergia luchunensis and the holoparasitic plants Phelipanche aegyptiaca and Orobanche cumana.Phylogenomic analysis of these three genomes together with those previously published and the transcriptomes of other orobanchaceous species createda robust phylogeneticframework forOrobanchaceae.We found that an ancient whole-genome duplication(WGD;about 73.48million years ago),which occurred earlierthan theoriginof Orobanchaceae,mighthave contributed totheemergence of parasitism.However,no WGD events occurred in any lineage of orobanchaceous parasites except for Striga after divergence from their autotrophic common ancestor,suggesting that,in contrast with previous speculations,WGD is not associated with the emergence of holoparasitism.We detected evident convergent gene loss in all parasites within Orobanchaceae and between Orobanchaceae and dodder Cuscuta australis.The gene families in the orobanchaceous parasites showed a clear pattern of recent gains and expansions.The expanded gene families are enriched in functions related to the development of the haustorium,suggesting that recent gene family expansions may have facilitated the adaptation of orobanchaceous parasites to different hosts.This study illustrates a stepwise pattern in the evolution of parasitism in the orobanchaceous parasites and will facilitate future studieson parasitism and the control of parasitic plants in agriculture.Yuxing Xu Jingxiong Zhang Canrong Ma Yunting Lei Guojing Shen Jianjun Jin Deren A.R.Eaton' Jianqiang Wu 2022Molecular Plant2022,15,8:0
