3Cropland redistribution to marginal lands undermines environmental sustainability显示文摘Cropland redistribution to marginal land has been reported worldwide;however,the resulting impacts on environmental sustainability have not been investigated sufficiently.Here we investigated the environmental impacts of cropland redistribution in China.As a result of urbanization-induced loss of high-quality croplands in south China(~8.5 t ha^(-1)),croplands expanded to marginal lands in northeast(~4.5 t ha^(-1)) and northwest China(~2.9 t ha^(-1)) during 1990-2015 to pursue food security.However,the reclamation in these low-yield and ecologically vulnerable zones considerably undermined local environmental sustainability,for example increasing wind erosion(+3.47%),irrigation water consumption(+34.42%),fertilizer use(+20.02%) and decreasing natural habitats(-3.11%).Forecasts show that further reclamation in marginal lands per current policies would exacerbate environmental costs by 2050.The future cropland security risk will be remarkably intensified because of the conflict between food production and environmental sustainability.Our research suggests that globally emerging reclamation of marginal lands should be restricted and crop yield boost should be encouraged for both food security and environmental benefits.Wenhui Kuang Jiyuan Liu Hanqin Tian Hao Shi Jinwei Dong Changqing Song Xiaoyong Li Guoming Du Yali Hou Dengsheng Lu Wenfeng Chi Tao Pan Shuwen Zhang Rafiq Hamdi Zherui Yin Huimin Yan Changzhen Yan Shixin Wu Rendong Li Jiuchun Yang Yinyin Dou Wenbin Wu Liqiao Liang Bao Xiang Shiqi Yang 2022National Science Review2022,9,1:13

5GPU-accelerated computing of three-dimensional solar wind background显示文摘High-performance computational models are required to make the real-time or faster than real-time numerical prediction of adverse space weather events and their influence on the geospace environment.The main objective in this article is to explore the application of programmable graphic processing units(GPUs)to the numerical space weather modeling for the study of solar wind background that is a crucial part in the numerical space weather modeling.GPU programming is realized for our Solar-Interplanetary-CESE MHD model(SIP-CESE MHD model)by numerically studying the solar corona/interplanetary solar wind.The global solar wind structures are obtained by the established GPU model with the magnetic field synoptic data as input.Meanwhile,the time-dependent solar surface boundary conditions derived from the method of characteristics and the mass flux limit are incorporated to couple the observation and the three-dimensional(3D)MHD model.The simulated evolution of the global structures for two Carrington rotations 2058 and 2062 is compared with solar observations and solar wind measurements from spacecraft near the Earth.The MHD model is also validated by comparison with the standard potential field source surface(PFSS)model.Comparisons show that the MHD results are in good overall agreement with coronal and interplanetary structures,including the size and distribution of coronal holes,the position and shape of the streamer belts,and the transition of the solar wind speeds and magnetic field polarities.FENG XueShang ZHONG DingKun XIANG ChangQing ZHANG Yao 2013Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,11:7
6A comparative study on 3-D solar wind structure observed by Ulysses and MHD simulation显示文摘During Ulysses’ first rapid pole-to-pole transit from September 1994 to June 1995, its observations showed that middle- or high-speed solar winds covered all latitudes except those between ?20° and +20° near the ecliptic plane, where the velocity was 300―450 km/s. At poleward 40°, however, only fast solar winds at the speed of 700―870 km/s were observed. In addition, the transitions from low-speed wind to high-speed wind or vice versa were abrupt. In this paper, the large-scale structure of solar wind observed by Ulysses near solar minimum is simulated by using the three-dimensional numerical MHD model. The model com- bines TVD Lax-Friedrich scheme and MacCormack II scheme and decomposes the calculation region into two re- gions: one from 1 to 22 Rs and the other from 18 Rs to 1 AU. Based on the observations of the solar photospheric magnetic field and an addition of the volumetric heating to MHD equations, the large-scale solar wind structure mentioned above is reproduced by using the three-dimensional MHD model and the numerical results are roughly consistent with Ulysses’ observations. 7Nb2C MXene-Functionalized Scaffolds Enables Osteosarcoma Phototherapy and Angiogenesis/Osteogenesis of Bone Defects显示文摘Early surgical resection and chemotherapy of bone cancer are commonly used in the treatment of bone tumor,but it is still highly challenging to prevent recurrence and fill the bone defect caused by the resection site.In this work,we report a rational integration of photonic-responsive two-dimensional(2D)ultrathin niobium carbide(Nb2C)MXene nanosheets(NSs)into the 3D-printed bone-mimetic scaffolds(NBGS)for osteosarcoma treatment.The integrated 2D Nb2C-MXene NSs feature specific photonic response in the second near-infrared(NIR-II)biowindow with high tissue-penetrating depth,making it highly efficient in killing bone cancer cells.Importantly,Nb-based species released by the biodegradation of Nb2C MXene can obviously promote the neogenesis and migration of blood vessels in the defect site,which can transport more oxygen,vitamins and energy around the bone defect for the reparative process,and gather more immune cells around the defect site to accelerate the degradation of NBGS.The degradation of NBGS provides sufficient space for the bone remodeling.Besides,calcium and phosphate released during the degradation of the scaffold can promote the mineralization of new bone tissue.The intrinsic multifunctionality of killing bone tumor cell and promoting angiogenesis and bone regeneration makes the engineered Nb2C MXeneintegrated composite scaffolds a distinctive implanting biomaterial on the efficient treatment of bone tumor.Junhui Yin Shanshan Pan Xiang Guo Youshui Gao Daoyu Zhu Qianhao Yang Junjie Gao Changqing Zhang Yu Chen 2021Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,2:5
8Methane dry reforming on Ni/La_2Zr_2O_7 treated by plasma in different atmospheres显示文摘A series of Ni/La2Zr2O7 pyrochlore catalysts prepared by impregnation method and treated by dielectric barrier discharge(DBD) plasma in different atmospheres and varied sequences were prepared and applied for dry reforming of methane(DRM). It is found that all of the plasma treated catalysts show evidently improved activity and coke resistance in comparison with the non-plasma treated one. The best performance is achieved on Ni/La2Zr2O7–H2P–C,a catalyst treated in H2 plasma before calcination. TGA-DSC and SEM demonstrate that carbon deposition is significantly suppressed on all of the plasma treated samples. Moreover,XRD and TEM results testify that both Ni O and Ni sizes on the calcined and reduced samples treated by plasma are also decreased,which results in higher Ni metal dispersion on the reduced and used catalysts and enhances the interactions between Ni sites and the support. 9Dry reforming of methane on active and coke resistant Ni/Y_2Zr_2O_7 catalysts treated by dielectric barrier discharge plasma显示文摘In this study, Ni/Y_2Zr_2O_7 catalysts prepared with impregnation method and treated by dielectric barrier discharge plasma(DBD) in different atmospheres have been investigated for methane dry reforming. It is revealed by H_2-TPR that plasma treatment can enhance the interaction between Ni O/Ni particles and the Y_2Zr_2O_7 pyrochlore support. Therefore, catalysts with smaller Ni O and Ni grains sizes, higher metallic Ni active surface areas can be achieved, as evidenced by XRD, TEM and H_2 adsorption-desorption measurements. As a consequence, the plasma-treated catalysts show significantly improved activity, stability and coke resistance, as testified by the TEM and TGA-DSC results. Plasma treatment in H_2/Ar gas mixture is found to be the best condition to prepare Ni/Y_2Zr_2O_7, which can be used to obtain a catalyst with the highest activity, stability and most potent coke resistance. 11Developing polydopamine modified molybdenum disulfide/epoxy resin powder coatings with enhanced anticorrosion performance and wear resistance on magnesium lithium alloys显示文摘Epoxy resin powder coating has been successfully applied on the corrosion protection of magnesium lithium alloys.However,poor wear resistance and microcracks formed during the solidification have limited it extensive application.There are limited approaches to exploit such anti-corrosion and mechanical properties of magnesium lithium alloys.Herein,the epoxy resin powder coating with polydopamine modified molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2)@PDA-EP powder coating with 0,0.1,0.2,0.5,1.0 wt.%loading)was well prepared by melt extrusion to investigate its anticorrosion performance and wear resistance.The results revealed that the addition of MoS_(2)@PDA enhanced the adhesion strength between coatings and alloys,wear resistance and corrosion protection of the powder coatings.Among them,the optimum was obtained by 0.2 wt.%MoS_(2)@PDA-EP powder coating which could be attributed to well dispersion and efficient adhesion with coating matrix.To conclude,MoS_(2)@PDA-EP powder coating is meaningfully beneficial for the anticorrosive and wear performance improvement of magnesium lithium alloys.Shibo Chen Changqing Yin Yi Wang Shuang Yi Xiang Gao Xujuan Zhang Qiyu Liao Yuxin Zhang Xia Zhao Jinsong Rao Baorong Hou 2022Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2022,10,9:2
12Three Dimensional Simulation of the Steady Solar Wind in Carrington Rotation 1935显示文摘A three-dimensional MHD simulation is conducted to study the steady solar wind in Carrington Rotation (CR) 1935 by using the three-dimensional numerical magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) model introduced by Feng et al The numerical results demonstrate that the neutral current sheet has two peaks and two valleys, which is consistent with the result of PFSS model at Wilcox Solar Observatory (WSO). The obtained proton number density at 2.5 Rs is of the same order of magnitude as the result estimated from K-coronal brightness during the CRs 1733-1742 in 1983 made by Wei et al. The radial velocity profile along heliocentric distance is consistent with that of low solar wind speed deduced by Sheeley and Wang et al. However, it is not able to reproduce the fast-speed flow in coronal holes and slow solar wind in streamers because of oversimplified energy equation adopted in our model. 19Thermal transport in lithium-ion battery: A micro perspective for thermal management显示文摘In recent years, lithium ion (Li-ion) batteries have served as significant power sources in portable electronic devices and electric vehicles because of their high energy density and rate capability. There are growing concerns towards the safety of Li-ion batteries, in which thermal conductivities of anodes, cathodes, electrolytes and separator play key roles for determining the thermal energy transport in Li-ion battery. In this review, we summarize the state-of-the-art studies on the thermal conductivities of commonly used anodes, cathodes, electrolytes and separator in Li-ion batteries, including both theoretical and experimental reports. First, the thermal conductivities of anodes and cathodes are discussed, and the effects of delithiation degree and temperature of materials are also discussed. Then, we review the thermal conductivities of commonly used electrolytes, especially on solid electrolytes. Finally, the basic concept of interfacial thermal conductance and simulation methods are presented, as well as the interfacial thermal conductance between separator and cathodes.
