2Salt-responsive genes in rice revealed by cDNA microarray analysis显示文摘We used cDNA microarrays containing ~9,000 unigenes to identify 486 salt responsive expressed sequence tags (ESTs) (representing ~450 unigenes) in shoots of the highly salt-tolerant rice variety, Nona Bokra (Oryza sativa L. Ssp.Indica pv. Nona). Some of the genes identified in this study had previously been associated with salt stress. Howeverthe majority were novel, indicating that there is a great number of genes that are induced by salt exposure. Analysis of the salt stress expression profile data of Nona provided clues regarding some putative cellular and molecular processes that are undertaken by this tolerant rice variety in response to salt stress. Namely, we found that multiple transcription factors were induced during the initial salt response of shoots. Many genes whose encoded proteins are implicated in detoxification, protectant and transport were rapidly induced. Genes supporting photosynthesis were repressed and those supporting carbohydrate metabolism were altered. Commonality among the genes induced by salt exposure with those induced during senescence and biotic stress responses suggests that there are shared signaling pathways among these processes. We further compared the transcriptome changes of the salt-sensitive cultivar, IR28, with that of Nona rice. Many genes that are salt responsive in Nona were found to be differentially regulated in IR28. 7PdAg bimetallic electrocatalyst for highly selective reduction of CO2 with low COOH^* formation energy and facile CO desorption显示文摘For electrocatalytic reduction of CO2 to CO,the stabilization of intermediate COOH^* and the desorption of CO^* are two key steps.Pd can easily stabilize COOH^*,whereas the strong CO^* binding to Pd surface results in severe poisoning,thus lowering catalytic activity and stability for CO2 reduction.On Ag surface,CO^* desorbs readily,while COOH^* requires a relatively high formation energy,leading to a high overpotential.In light of the above issues,we successfully designed the PdAg bimetallic catalyst to circumvent the drawbacks of sole Pd and Ag.The PdAg catalyst with Ag-terminated surface not only shows a much lower overpotential(-0.55 V with CO current density of 1 mA/cm^2)than Ag(−0.76 V),but also delivers a CO/H2 ratio 18 times as high as that for Pd at the potential of-0.75 V vs.RHE.The issue of CO poisoning is significantly alleviated on Ag-terminated PdAg surface,with the stability well retained after 4h electrolysis at-0.75 V vs.RHE.Density functional theory(DFT)calculations reveal that the Ag-terminated PdAg surface features a lowered formation energy for COOH^* and weakened adsorption for CO^*,which both contribute to the enhanced performance for CO2 reduction.Rui Lin Xuelu Ma Weng-Chon Cheong Chao Zhang Wei Zhu Jiajing Pei Kaiyue Zhang Bin Wang Shiyou Liang Yuxi Liu Zhongbin Zhuang Rong Yu Hai Xiao Jun Li Dingsheng Wang Qing Peng Chen Chen Yadong Li 2019Nano Research2019,12,11:7

10Polypropylene non-woven supported fibronectin molecular imprinted calcium alginate/polyacrylamide hydrogel film for cell adhesion显示文摘Fibronectin(FN) imprinted polypropylene(PP) non-woven supported calcium alginate/polyacrylamide hydrogel film(PP-s-CA/PAM MIP) was prepared using non-woven PP fiber as matrix, FN as template molecule, sodium alginate(SA) and acrylamide(AM) as functional monomers, via UV radiation-reduced polymerization. The PP-s-CA/PAM MIP exhibited an obvious improvement in terms of adsorption capacity for FN compared with non-imprinted polymer(NIP). 13Association between Low-density Lipoprotein Receptor-related Protein 5 Polymorphisms and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in Han Chinese:a Case-control Study显示文摘Objective To investigate the association between low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 5(LRP5) variants(rs12363572 and rs4930588) and type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) in Han Chinese. Methods A total of 1842 T2 DM cases(507 newly diagnosed cases and 1335 previously diagnosed cases) and 7777 controls were included in this case-control study. PCR-RFLP was conducted to detect the genotype of the two single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs). Odds ratios(ORs) and 95% confidence intervals(95% CIs) were calculated to describe the strength of the association by logistic regression. Results In the study subjects, neither rs12363572 nor rs4930588 was significantly associated with T2 DM, even after adjusting for relevant covariates. When stratified by body mass index(BMI), the two SNPs were also not associated with T2 DM. Among the 3 common haplotypes, only haplotype TT was associated with reduced risk of T2DM(OR 0.820, 95% CI 0.732-0.919). In addition, rs12363572 was associated with BMI(P<0.001) and rs4930588 was associated with triglyceride levels(P=0.043) in 507 newly diagnosed T2 DM cases but not in healthy controls. 14Effects of applied potential on the stress corrosion cracking behavior of 7003 aluminum alloy in acid and alkaline chloride solutions显示文摘Potentiodynamic polarization tests and slow strain rate test(SSRT) in combination with fracture morphology observations were conducted to investigate the stress corrosion cracking(SCC) behavior of 7003 aluminum alloy(AA7003) in acid and alkaline chloride solutions under various applied potentials(Ea). The results show that AA7003 is to a certain extent susceptible to SCC via anodic dissolution(AD) at open-circuit potential(OCP) and is highly susceptible to hydrogen embrittlement(HE) at high negative Ea in the solutions with p H levels of 4 and 11. The susceptibility increases with negative shift in the potential when Ea is less than-1000 m V vs. SCE. However, the susceptibility distinctly decreases because of the inhibition of AD when Ea is equal to-1000 m V vs. SCE. In addition, the SCC susceptibility of AA7003 in the acid chloride solution is higher than that in the alkaline solution at each potential. 15Self-assembly synthesis of SnNb2O6/amino-functionalized graphene nanocomposite as high-rate anode materials for sodium-ion batteries显示文摘A two-dimensional(2 D)SnNb_(2)O_(6)/amino-functionalized graphene(En-RGO)nanocomposite with a representative 2 D-2 D architecture has been constructed by an easy self-assembly approach and firstly investigated as anode materials for secondary sodium-ion batteries.The SnNb_(2)O_(6)nanosheets are evenly anchored with the aminofunctionalized graphene through electrostatic attractive interplay between the negatively charged SnNb_(2)O_(6)and positively charged En-RGO after modification.As a result,a remarkable reversible capacity of 300 mAh·g^(-1)was obtained at 50 mA·g^(-1),and significantly,the En-RGO electrode could also deliver ultra-long calendar life up to1900 cycles with a high reversible capacity of200 mAh·g^(-1)at current of 500 mA·g^(-1).Such excellent electrochemical characteristics can be mainly ascribed to its fast pseudo-capacitive energy storage mechanism,and the capacitive contribution can even reach up to 90%at1.2 mV·s^(-1).Min Huang Ji-Xin Liu Peng Huang Hai Hu Chao Lai 2021Rare Metals2021,40,2:3
16Immunological Evaluation of a Novel Mycobacterium tuberculosis Antigen Rv0674显示文摘Objective This study aimed to characterize the diagnostic and vaccine potential of a novel Mycobacterium tuberculosisantigen Rv0674. Methods To evaluate thediagnostic potential and antigenicity of Rv0674, IgG was evaluated using ELISA and interferon (IFN)-γ was done by using ELISpot assay among TB patients and healthy donors. For immunogenicity evaluation, BALB/c mice were immunized with Rv0674. Cytokine production was determined by cytokine release assay using an ELISA kit, and the antibodies were tested using ELISA. Results The results of serum Elisa tests showed that Rv0674 specific immunoglobulin G (IgG) response was higher in TB patients than negative controls. And Rv0674 had good performance in serological test with sensitivity and specificity of 77.1% and 81.1%, respectively. While it shows poor sensitivity and specificity of 26.23% and 79.69% for IFN-γ tests. In BALB/c mice, Rv0674 adjuvant by DDA/PolyI:C could also induce a high level of IFN-γ, interleukin-2 and interleukin-6 as well as a high IgG titer in both high-and low-dose groups indicating that Rv0674 is essential in humoral and cellular immunity. Moreover, the cytokine profile and IgG isotypecharacterized Rv0674 as a Th1/Th2-mixed-type protective immunity with the predominance of Th1 cytokines.
