| 1 | The Homo sapiens Cave hominin site of Mulan Mountain,Jiangzhou District,Chongzuo,Guangxi with emphasis on its age显示文摘One of the most hotly debated and frontal issues in paleoanthropology focuses on the origins of modern humans. Recently, an incomplete hominin mandible with a distinctly weaker mental protuberance than modern human and a great variety of coexisting fossil mammals were unearthed from the Homo sapiens Cave of Mulan Mountain, Chongzuo, Guangxi. The mammalian fauna from the Homo sapiens Cave characterized by the combination of Elephas kiangnanensis, first occurring Elephas maixmus, and Megatapirus augustus, and strikingly different from the Early Pleistocene Gigantopithecus fauna and the Middle Pleistocene Ailuropoda-Stogodon fauna of South China could be regarded as an early representive of the typical Asian elephant fauna. Faunal analysis, biostratigraphic correlation, and, most importantly, U-series dating all consistently support an estimate of ca. 110 ka for the age of the fossil Homo sapiens and coexisting mammalian fauna, that is, the early Late Pleistocene. The fauna is mainly made up of tropical-subtropical elements, but grassland elements have a much greater variety than forest elements, which probably indicates a drier climate at that time. | 2 | The grapevine kinome:annotation,classification and expression patterns in developmental processes and stress responses显示文摘Protein kinases(PKs)have evolved as the largest family of molecular switches that regulate protein activities associated with almost all essential cellular functions.Only a fraction of plant PKs,however,have been functionally characterized even in model plant species.In the present study,the entire grapevine kinome was identified and annotated using the most recent version of the grapevine genome.A total of 1168 PK-encoding genes were identified and classified into 20 groups and 121 families,with the RLK-Pelle group being the largest,with 872 members.The 1168 kinase genes were unevenly distributed over all 19 chromosomes,and both tandem and segmental duplications contributed to the expansion of the grapevine kinome,especially of the RLK-Pelle group.Ka/Ks values indicated that most of the tandem and segmental duplication events were under purifying selection.The grapevine kinome families exhibited different expression patterns during plant development and in response to various stress treatments,with many being coexpressed.The comprehensive annotation of grapevine kinase genes,their patterns of expression and coexpression,and the related information facilitate a more complete understanding of the roles of various grapevine kinases in growth and development,responses to abiotic stress,and evolutionary history. | Kaikai Zhu Xiaolong Wang Jinyi Liu Jun Tang Qunkang Cheng Jin-Gui Chen Zong-Ming(Max)Cheng | 2018 | Horticulture Research2018,5,1: | 5 |

| 4 | Stretchable organic electrochemical transistors via threedimensional porous elastic semiconducting films for artificial synaptic applications显示文摘Neuromorphic computing targets realizing biomimetic or intelligence systems capable of processing abundant tasks in parallel analogously to our brain,and organic electrochemical transistors(OECTs)that rely on the mixed ionic-electronic synergistic couple possess significant similarity to biological systems for implementing synaptic functions.However,the lack of reliable stretchability for synaptic OECTs,where mechanical deformation occurs,leads to consequent degradation of electrical performance.Herein,we demonstrate stretchable synaptic OECTs by adopting a three-dimensional poly(3-hexylthiophene)(P3HT)/styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene(SEBS)blend porous elastic film for neuromorphic computing.Such architecture shows the full capability to emulate biological synaptic behaviors.Adjusting the accumulated layer numbers of porous film enables tunable OECT output and hysteresis,resulting in transition in plasticity.Especially,with a trilayer porous film,large-scale conductance and hysteresis are endorsed for efficient mimicking of memory-dependent synapse behavior.Benefitted from the interconnected three-dimensional porous structures,corresponding stretchable synaptic OECTs exhibit excellent mechanical robustness when stretched at a 30%strain,and maintain reliable electrical characteristics after 500 stretching cycles.Furthermore,near-ideal weight updates with near-zero nonlinearities,symmetricity in long-term potentiation(LTP)and depression,and applications for image simulation are validated.This work paves a universal design strategy toward highperformance stretchable neuromorphic computing architecture and could be extended to other flexible/stretchable electronics. | Yujie Peng Lin Gao Changjian Liu Jinyi Deng Miao Xie Libing Bai Gang Wang Yuhua Cheng Wei Huang Junsheng Yu | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,7: | 1 |

They combine to give color to leaves. Based on the CIE1931 chromaticity coordinates of chlorophylls and cartotenoids, which were obtained from their classical absorption spectra and the law of additive color mixing, the theoretical color gamut of higher plant leaves is determined. | 10 | Evaluating the short-term effect of ambient temperature on non-fatal outdoor falls and road traffic injuries among children and adolescents in China: a time-stratified case-crossover study显示文摘studies have suggested that non-optimal temperatures may increase the risk of injury,epidemiological studies focusing on the association between temperature and non-fatal injury among children and adolescents are limited.Therefore,we investigated the short-term effect of ambient temperature on non-fatal falls and road traffic injuries(RTIs)among students across Jiangsu Province,China.Meteorological data and records of non-fatal outdoor injuries due to falls and RTIs among students aged 6–17 were collected during 2018–2020.We performed a time-stratified case-crossover analysis with a distributed lag nonlinear model to examine the effect of ambient temperature on the risk of injury.Individual meteorological exposure was estimated based on the address of the selected school.We also performed stratified analyses by sex,age,and area.A total of 57322 and 5455 cases of falls and RTIs were collected,respectively.We observed inverted U-shaped curves for temperatureinjury associations,with maximum risk temperatures at 18℃(48th of daily mean temperature distribution)for falls and 22℃(67th of daily mean temperature distribution)for RTIs.The corresponding odds ratios(95%confidence intervals)were 2.193(2.011,2.391)and 3.038(1.988,4.644)for falls and RTIs,respectively.Notably,there was a significant age-dependent trend in which the temperature effect on falls was greater in older students(P-trend<0.05).This study suggests a ignificant association between ambient temperature and students’outdoor falls and RTIs.Our findings may help advance tailored strategies to reduce the incidence of outdoor falls and RTIs in children and adolescents. | Hao Zheng Jian Cheng Hung Chak Ho Baoli Zhu Zhen Ding Wencong Du Xin Wang Yang Yu Juan Fei Zhiwei Xu Jinyi Zhou Jie Yang | 2023 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2023,17,9: | 0 |
| 11 | Inhibition of MYC suppresses programmed cell death ligand-1 expression and enhances immunotherapy in triple-negative breast cancer显示文摘Background:Cancer immunotherapy has emerged as a promising strategy against triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC).One of the immunosuppressive pathways involves programmed cell death-1(PD-1)and programmed cell death ligand-1(PD-L1),but many patients derived little benefit from PD-1/PD-L1 checkpoint blockades treatment.Prior research has shown that MYC,a master transcription amplifier highly expressed in TNBC cells,can regulate the tumor immune microenvironment and constrain the efficacy of immunotherapy.This study aims to investigate the regulatory relationship between MYC and PD-L1,and whether a cyclin-dependent kinase(CDK)inhibitor that inhibits MYC expression in combination with anti-PD-L1 antibodies can enhance the response to immunotherapy.Methods:Public databases and TNBC tissue microarrays were used to study the correlation between MYC and PD-L1.The expression of MYC and PD-L1 in TNBCs was examined by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and Western blotting.A patient-derived tumor xenograft(PDTX)model was used to evaluate the influence of a CDK7 inhibitor THZ1 on PD-L1 expression.Cell proliferation and migration were detected by 5-ethynyl-2′-deoxyuridine(EdU)cell proliferation and cell migration assays.Tumor xenograft models were established for in vivo verification.Results:A high MYC expression level was associated with a poor prognosis and could alter the proportion of tumor-infiltrating immune cells(TIICs).The positive correlation between MYC and PD-L1 was confirmed by immunostaining samples from 165 TNBC patients.Suppression of MYC in TNBC caused a reduction in the levels of both PD-L1 messenger RNA and protein.In addition,antitumor immune response was enhanced in the TNBC cancer xenograft mouse model with suppression of MYC by CDK7 inhibitor THZ1.Conclusions:The combined therapy of CDK7 inhibitor THZ1 and anti-PD-L1 antibody appeared to have a synergistic effect,which might offer new insight for enhancing immunotherapy in TNBC. | Xintong Li Lin Tang Qin Chen Xumin Cheng Yiqiu Liu Cenzhu Wang Chengjun Zhu Kun Xu Fangyan Gao Jinyi Huang Runtian Wang Xiaoxiang Guan | 2022 | Chinese Medical Journal2022,135,20: | 0 |
