| 1 | Plant-derived phosphocholine facilitates cellular uptake of anti-pulmonary fibrotic HJT-sRNA-m7显示文摘Pulmonary fibrosis, a progressive chronic disease with a high mortality rate, has limited treatment options. Currently, lung transplantation remains the only effective treatment. Here we report that a small RNA, HJT-sRNA-m7, from a Chinese herbal medicine Hong Jing Tian(HJT, RHODIOHAE CRENULATAE RADIX ET RHIZOMA, Rhodiola crenulata) can effectively reduce the expressions of fibrotic hallmark genes and proteins both in alveolar in vitro and in mouse lung tissues in vivo. We also discovered over one hundred oil-soluble chemicals from HJT decoctions, most of which are found in lipid extracts from other Chinese herbals decoctions, including Pu Gong Ying(PGY, TARAXACI HERBA, Taraxacum mongolicum), Chuan Xin Lian(CXL, changed to 'ANDROGRAPHIS HERBA, Andrographis paniculata'), and Jin Yin Hua(JYH, lonicera japonica or Honeysuckle). We identified the active component in these decoctions as two forms of phosphocholines, PC(18:0/18:2) and PC(16:0/18:2). These PCs potentially could form liposomes with small RNAs to enter human alveolar and gastric cells. | 2 | Characteristics of atmospheric single particles during haze periods in a typical urban area of Beijing:A case study in October,2014显示文摘To investigate the composition and possible sources of particles, especially during heavy haze pollution, a single particle aerosol mass spectrometer(SPAMS) was deployed to measure the changes of single particle species and sizes during October of 2014, in Beijing. A total of 2,871,431 particles with both positive and negative spectra were collected and characterized in combination with the adaptive resonance theory neural network algorithm(ART-2a). Eight types of particles were classified: dust particles(dust, 8.1%), elemental carbon(EC, 29.0%), organic carbon(OC, 18.0%), EC and OC combined particles(ECOC, 9.5%),Na-K containing particles(Na K, 7.9%), K-containing particles(K, 21.8%), organic nitrogen and potassium containing particles(KCN, 2.3%), and metal-containing particles(metal,3.6%). Three haze pollution events(P1, P2, P3) and one clean period(clean) were analyzed,based on the mass and number concentration of PM_(2.5)and the back trajectory results from the hybrid single particle Lagrangian integrated trajectory model(Hysplit-4 model). Results showed that EC, OC and K were the major components of single particles during the three haze pollution periods, which showed clearly increased ratios compared with those in the clean period. | 3 | Tracing the first hematopoietic stem cell generation in human embryo by single-cell RNA sequencing显示文摘Tracing the emergence of the first hematopoietic stem cells(HSCs)in human embryos,particularly the scarce and transient precursors thereof,is so far challenging,largely due to the technical limitations and the material rarity.Here,using single-cell RNA sequencing,we constructed the first genome-scale gene expression landscape covering the entire course of endothelial-to-HSC transition during human embryogenesis.The transcriptomically defined HSC-primed hemogenic endothelial cells(HECs)were captured at Carnegie stage(CS)12-14 in an unbiased way,showing an unambiguous feature of arterial endothelial cells(ECs)with the up-regulation of RUNX1,MYB and ANGPTL Importantly,subcategorizing CD34+CD45-ECs into a CD44+population strikingly enriched HECs by over 10-fold.We further mapped the developmental path from arterial ECs via HSC-primed HECs to hematopoietic stem progenitor cells,and revealed a distinct expression pattern of genes that were transiently over-represented upon the hemogenic fate choice of arterial ECs#including EMCN,PROCR and RUNX1T1.We also uncovered another temporally and molecularly distinct intra-embryonic HEC population,which was detected mainly at earlier CS 10 and lacked the arterial feature.Finally,we revealed the cellular components of the putative aortic niche and potential cellular interactions acting on the HSCprimed HECs.The cellular and molecular programs that underlie the generation of the first HSCs from HECs in human embryos,together with the ability to distinguish the HSC-primed HECs from others,will shed light on the strategies for the production of clinically useful HSCs from pluripotent stem cells. | Yang Zeng Jian He Zhijie Bai Zongcheng Li Yandong Gong Chen Liu Yanli Ni Junjie Du Chunyu Ma Lihong Bian Yu Lan Bing Liu | 2019 | Cell Research2019,29,11: | 14 |
| 4 | Adaptive recurrent-functional-link-network control for hypersonic vehicles with atmospheric disturbances显示文摘The controller design for a near-space hypersonic vehicle (NHV) is challenging due to its plant uncertainties and sensitivity to atmospheric disturbances such as gusts and turbulence. This paper first derives 12 states equations of NHVs subjected to variable wind field, and presents a novel recurrent neural network (RNN) control method for restraining atmospheric disturbances. The method devises a new B-spline recurrent functional link network (BRFLN) and combines it with the nonlinear generalized predictive control (NGPC) algorithm. Moreover, the proportional-derivative (PD) correction BRFLN is proposed to approximate atmo- spheric disturbances in flight. The weights of BRFLN are online tuned by the adaptive law based on Lyapunov stability theorem. | 5 | Molecular Cytogenetic Characterization of a Wheat-Leymus mollis 3D(3Ns) Substitution Line with Resistance to Leaf Rust显示文摘Leymus mollis(Trin.)Pilger(NsNsXmXm,2n?28),a wild relative of common wheat,possesses many potentially valuable traits that could be transferred to common wheat during breeding programs.In this study,the karyotypic constitution of a wheat e L.mollis 3D(3Ns#1)disomic substitution line isolated from the F5progeny of octoploid Tritileymus M842-16 Triticum durum cv.D4286,which was designated as 10DM57,was determined using genomic in situ hybridization(GISH),fluorescent in situ hybridization(FISH),SSR markers,and ESTSTS markers.Screening of mitosis and meiosis showed that 10DM57 had a chromosome karyotype of 2n?42?21II.GISH indicated that10DM57 was a line with 40 chromosomes from wheat and two of the Ns chromosomes from L.mollis,which formed a ring bivalent in pollen mother cells at metaphase I.FISH analysis showed that the chromosome 3D may be replaced by 3Ns#1 in 10DM57.DNA markers,including SSR and EST-STS primers,showed that the pair of wheat chromosome 3D in 10DM57 was substituted by the pair of chromosome 3Ns#1from L.mollis.Evaluation of the agronomic traits showed that,compared with its common wheat relative 7182,10DM57 was resistant to leaf rust while the spike length and number of spikes per plant were improved significantly,which correlated with a higher wheat yield.The new germplasm,10DM57,could be exploited as an intermediate material in wheat genetic and breeding programs. | Yuhui Pang Xinhong Chen Jixin Zhao Wanli Du Xueni Cheng Jun Wu Yanli Li Liangming Wang Jing Wang Qunhui Yang | 2014 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2014,41,4: | 6 |

| 7 | Pseudocapacitance boosted N-doped carbon coated Fe7S8 nanoaggregates as promising anode materials for lithium and sodium storage显示文摘Herein,the core-shell structured N-doped carbon coated Fe7S8 nano-aggregates(Fe7S8@NC)were controllably prepared via a simple three-step synthesis strategy.The appropriate thickness of N-doped carbon layer outside Fe7S8 nano-aggregates can not only inhibit the particle pulverization induced by the big volume changes of Fe7S8,but can increase the electron transfer efficiency.The hierarchical Fe7S8 nano-aggregates composed of some primary nanoparticles can accelerate the lithium or sodium diffusion kinetics.As anode materials for Li-ion batteries(LIBs),the well-designed Fe7S8@NC nanocomposites exhibit outstanding lithium storage performance,which is better than that of pure Fe7S8,Fe3O4@NC and Fe7S8@C.Among these nanocomposites,the N-doped carbon coated Fe7S8 with carbon content of 26.87 wt.%shows a high reversible specific capacity of 833 mAh·g^−1 after 1,000 cycles at a high current density of 2 A·g^−1.The above electrode also shows excellent high rate sodium storage performance.The experimental and theoretical analyses indicate that the outstanding electrochemical performance could be attributed to the synergistic effect of hierarchical Fe7S8 nanostructure and conductive N-doped carbon layer.The quantitative kinetic analysis indicates that the charge storage of Fe7S8@NC electrode is a combination of diffusion-controlled battery behavior and surface-induced capacitance behavior. | Yanli Zhou Ming Zhang Qi Wang Jian Yang Xingyun Luo Yanlu Li Rong Du Xinsheng Yan Xueqin Sun Caifu Dong Xiaoyu Zhang Fuyi Jiang | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,3: | 4 |
| 8 | A new approach to spatial source apportionment of haze pollution in large scale and its application in China显示文摘Long-lasting expansion of haze pollution in China has already presented a stern challenge to regional joint prevention and control. There is an urgent need to enlarge and reconstruct the coverage of joint prevention and control of air pollution in key area. Air quality models can identify and quantify the regional contribution of haze pollution and its key components with the help of numerical simulation, but it is difficult to be applied to larger spatial scale due to the complexity of model parameters. The time series analysis can recognize the existence of spatial interaction of haze pollution between cities, but it has not yet been used to further identify the spatial sources of haze pollution in large scale. Using econometric framework of time series analysis, this paper developed a new approach to perform spatial source apportionment. We applied this approach to calculate the contribution from spatial sources of haze pollution in China, using the monitoring data of particulate matter(PM_(2.5)) across 161 Chinese cities. | 10 | Study of the Corrosion Resistance of Electroless Ni-P Deposits in a Sodium Chloride Medium显示文摘The corrosion resistance of electroless Ni-P deposits with phosphorous contents from 12% to 14% in sodium chloride solutions was studied. The deposits were immersed in 3.5% NaCl solutions for 29 d to obtain the electrochemical parameters and were examined in a standard salt spray test for 15 d respectively. The corrosion resistance of the deposits was studied by poten- tio-dynamic scan, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and cold-field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) equipped with an energy dispersive X-ray detector (EDX). The patterns of XRD and the results of FE-SEM showed that the prepared deposits were amorphous. But after a 15 d standard salt spray test, a few pinholes appeared on the surface of the deposit and the weight content of phosphorus on the surface of the deposit was higher (which was beneficial to the formation of the passivation films) than that before the standard salt spray test when the nickel content was lower because the dissolved weight of nickel was greater than that of phosphorus. The results from potentio-dynamic scan and EIS showed that passivation films formed on the Ni-P deposit after immersion in the NaCl solutions, which decreased the corrosion rate of Ni-P samples. | 11 | Influence of Surface Nanocrystallization on Ti Ion Implantation of Pure Iron显示文摘In order to increase the depth or concentration of Ti ion implantation of pure iron, the surface mechanical attrition treatment(SMAT), which can fabricate a nanometer-grained surface layer without porosity and contamination in a pure iron plate, was used before ion implantation. Ti ion was implanted into the SMA treated sample and coarse-grained counterpart by using a metal vapor vacuum arc source implanter. The changing of depth and concentration of Ti was studied in a function of implantation time.By optical microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction, the grain size of the nano structured surface was studied. Micro-hardness, friction and wear behavior of nano surface layers were studied. By energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and Auger electron spectroscopy, the chemical composition and concentration of Ti ion in the surface implantation layer were studied. Experimental results showed that the concentration of Ti increased dramatically compared with untreated coarsegrained samples, which is attributed to the existence of higher density of defects(supersaturated vacancies, dislocations, non-equilibrium grain boundaries etc.) and compression stress field in the SMA treated nanocrystallined surface layer. The interaction between the defects and the implanted solute atoms leads to the increment of solid solubility. But the implantation depth showed inconspicuous change.
