1Multiaxial electrospun generation of hollow graphene aerogel spheres for broadb and high-performance microwave absorption显示文摘Although graphene aerogels(GA)have been attracted great attention,the easy-operation and large-scale production of GA are still challenges.Further,most GA have a monolith-like appearance,limiting their application-specific needs.Herein,we highlight graphene aerogel spheres with controllable hollow structures(HGAS)that are delicately designed and manufactured via coaxial electrospinning coupled with freeze-drying and calcination.The HGAS exhibit a spherical configuration at the macroscale,while the construction elements of graphene on the microscale showing an interconnected radial microchannel structure.Further ball-in-ball graphene aerogel spheres(BGAS)are obtained by reference to the triaxial electrospinning technology.The as-prepared spheres possess the controllable integrated conductive networks,leading to the effective dielectric loss and impedance matching thus bringing on high-performance microwave absorption.The as-obtained HGAS shows a minimum reflection loss of-52.7 dB and a broad effective absorption bandwidth(f)of 7.0 GHz with thickness of 2.3 mm.Further,the fe reaches 9.3 GHz for BGAS with thickness of 3.4 mm.Aforementioned superior microwave absorption of HGAS and BGAS confirms combination of multiaxial electrospinning and freeze-drying on the multiscale is an effective strategy for scalable fabrication of advanced microwave.absorbing functional graphene aerogel spheres.Tian Li Dandan Zhi Yao Chen Bing Li Zuowan Zhou Fanbin Meng 2020Nano Research2020,13,2:13
2Primarily screening and analyzing ESTs differentially expressed in rats' primary liver cancer显示文摘Objective: To screen and analyze key express sequence tags (ESTs) which were differentially displayed in every period of SD rats' primary hepatic carcinoma and reveal the molecular mechanism of carcinogenesis. Methods: Using diethylnitrosamine (DENA) as a cancerigenic agent, animal models with different phases of primary hepatic cancer were constructed in SD rats. Rats were respectively sacrificed at d 14, d 28, d 56, d 77, d 105 and d 112 after the rats received DENA by gavage, then the livers were harvested. One part of the livers was classified according to their pathological changes, while the other was reserved for molecular mechanism studies on hepatocarcinogenesis. The differentially expressed genes were isolated from both normal and morbid tissues by mRNA differential display technique (DDRT-PCR). After the fragments were sequenced, bioinformatics were used to analyze the results. Results: Twelve differentially expressed cDNA fragments were obtained. Nine fragments had the homology with known cDNA clones, especially EST-7 was similar to BN/SsNHsdMCW mitochondrion gene and the identity was 100% which suggested EST-7 may be the part of BN/SsNHsdMCW mitochondrion gene. In contrast, other three fragments (EST-1, EST-3 and EST-5) had extremely low identity to any genes registered in GENBANK databases. Conclusions: BN/SsNHsdMCW mitochondrion gene was expressed in different periods of hepatocarcinogenesis. 3Elevating H3K27me3 level sensitizes colorectal cancer to oxaliplatin显示文摘Histone methylation is a context-dependent modification that regulates gene expression,and the trimethylation of histone H3 lysine 27(H3K27me3)usually induces gene silencing.Overcoming colorectal cancer(CRC)chemoresistance is currently a huge challenge,but the relationship between H3K27me3 modification and chemoresistance remains largely unclear.Here,we found that H3K27me3 levels positively correlated with the metastasis-free survival of CRC patients and a low H3K27me3 level predicted a poor outcome upon chemotherapeutic drug treatment.Oxaliplatin stimulation significantly induced the expression of H3K27 lysine demethylase 6A/6B(KDM6A/6B),thus decreasing the level of H3K27me3 in CRC cells.Elevation of H3K27me3 level through KDM6A/6B depletion or GSK-J4(a KDM6A/6B inhibitor)treatment significantly enhanced oxaliplatin-induced apoptosis.Conversely,when inhibiting the expression of H3K27me3 by EPZ-6438,an inhibitor of the histone methyltransferase EZH2,the proportion of apoptotic cells remarkably decreased.In addition,the combination of GSK-J4 and oxaliplatin significantly inhibited tumor growth in an oxaliplatin-resistant patient-derived xenograft model.Importantly,we revealed that oxaliplatin treatment dramatically induced NOTCH2 expression,which was caused by downregulation of H3K27me3 level on the NOTCH2 transcription initiation site.Thus,the activated NOTCH signaling promoted the expression of stemness-related genes,which resulted in oxaliplatin resistance.Furthermore,oxaliplatin-induced NOTCH signaling could be interrupted by GSK-J4 treatment.Collectively,our findings suggest that elevating H3K27me3 level can improve drug sensitivity in CRC patients.Qi Wang Xi Chen Yuhang Jiang Sanhong Liu Hanshao Liu Xiaohua Sun Haohao Zhang Zhi Liu Yu Tao Cuifeng Li Yiming Hu Dandan Liu Deji Ye Yongzhong Liu Mingliang Wang Xiaoren Zhang 2020Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2020,12,2:6
4Biosynthesis-based artificial evolution of microbial natural products显示文摘Natural products are often secondary metabolites in living organisms with a wide variety of biological activities. The diversification of their structures, aiming to the search for biologically active small molecules by expanding chemical and functional spaces, is a major area of current interest in synthetic chemistry. However, developing synthetic accessibility and efficiency often faces challenges associated with structural complexity. Synthetic biology has recently emerged and is promising to accomplish complex molecules; by contrast, the application to structural diversification of natural products relies on the understanding, development and utilization of compatible biosynthetic machinery. Here, we review the strategies primarily concerning the artificial evolution of microbial natural products whose biosynthesis features template enzymology,including ribosomally synthesized and post-translationally modified peptides as well as the assembly line-resultant polyketides,non-ribosomal peptides and hybrids. 6GA Associated Dwarf 5 encodes an ent-kaurenoic acid oxidase required for maize gibberellin biosynthesis and morphogenesis显示文摘Gibberellin(GA)functions in plant growth and development.However,genes involved in the biosynthesis and regulation of GA in crop plants are poorly understood.We isolated the mutant gad5-1(GAAssociated Dwarf 5),characterized by dwarfing,short internodes,and dark green and short leaves.Map-based gene cloning and allelic verification confirmed that ZmGAD5 encodes ent-kaurenoic acid oxidase(KAO),which catalyzes KA(ent-kaurenoic acid)to GA12 conversion during GA biosynthesis in maize.ZmGAD5 is localized to the endoplasmic reticulum and is present in multiple maize organs.In gad5-1,the expression of ZmGAD5 is severely reduced,and the levels of the direct substrate of KAO,KA,is increased,leading to a reduction in GA content.The abnormal phenotype of gad5-1 was restored by exogenous application of GA3.The biomass,plant height,and levels of GA12 and GA3 in transgenic Arabidopsis overexpressing ZmGAD5 were increased in comparison with the corresponding controls Col-0.These findings deepen our understanding of genes involved in GA biosynthesis,and could lead to the development of maize lines with improved architecture and higher planting-density tolerance.Zuliang Li Baozhu Li Junli Zhang Hongliang Wang Mao Wang Siyi Guo Pengtao Wang Zhi Li David WGalbraith Dandan Li Chun-Peng Song 2023The Crop Journal2023,11,6:1
7Galactic interstellar scintillation observed from four globular cluster pulsars by FAST显示文摘We report detections of scintillation arcs for pulsars in globular clusters M5,M13 and M15 for the first time using the Fivehundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(FAST).From observations of these arcs at multiple epochs,we infer that screen-like scattering medium exists at distances 4.1_(-0.3)^(+0.2),6.7_(-0.2)^(+0.2)and 1.3_(-1.0)^(+0.7) kpc from Earth in the directions of M5,M13 and M15,respectively.This means M5's and M13's scattering screens are located at 3.0_(-0.2)^(+0.1) and 4.4_(-0.1)^(+0.1) kpc above the galactic plane,whereas,M15's is at 0.6_(-0.5)^(+0.3) kpc below the plane.We estimate the scintillation timescale and decorrelation bandwidth for each pulsar at each epoch using the one-dimensional auto-correlation in frequency and time of the dynamic spectra.We found that the boundary of the Local Bubble may have caused the scattering of M15,and detected the most distant off-plane scattering screens to date through pulsar scintillation,which provides evidence for understanding the medium circulation in the Milky Way.Dandan Zhang Zhenzhao Tao Mao Yuan Jumei Yao Pei Wang Qijun Zhi Weiwei Zhu Xun Shi Michael Kramer Di Li Lei Zhang Guangxing Li 2023Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2023,66,9:0
8Evaluation of ICUs and weight of quality control indicators:an exploratory study based on Chinese ICU quality data from 2015 to 2020显示文摘This study aimed to explore key quality control factors that affected the prognosis of intensive care unit(ICU)patients in Chinese mainland over six years(2015–2020).The data for this study were from 31 provincial and municipal hospitals(3425 hospital ICUs)and included 2110685 ICU patients,for a total of 27607376 ICU hospitalization days.We found that 15 initially established quality control indicators were good predictors of patient prognosis,including percentage of ICU patients out of all inpatients(%),percentage of ICU bed occupancy of total inpatient bed occupancy(%),percentage of all ICU inpatients with an APACHE II score≥15(%),three-hour(surviving sepsis campaign)SSC bundle compliance(%),six-hour SSC bundle compliance(%),rate of microbe detection before antibiotics(%),percentage of drug deep venous thrombosis(DVT)prophylaxis(%),percentage of unplanned endotracheal extubations(%),percentage of patients reintubated within 48 hours(%),unplanned transfers to the ICU(%),48-h ICU readmission rate(%),ventilator associated pneumonia(VAP)(per 1000 ventilator days),catheter related blood stream infection(CRBSI)(per 1000 catheter days),catheter-associated urinary tract infections(CAUTI)(per 1000 catheter days),in-hospital mortality(%).When exploratory factor analysis was applied,the 15 indicators were divided into 6 core elements that varied in weight regarding quality evaluation:nosocomial infection management(21.35%),compliance with the Surviving Sepsis Campaign guidelines(17.97%),ICU resources(17.46%),airway management(15.53%),prevention of deep-vein thrombosis(14.07%),and severity of patient condition(13.61%).Based on the different weights of the core elements associated with the 15 indicators,we developed an integrated quality scoring system defined as F score=21.35%xnosocomial infection management+17.97%xcompliance with SSC guidelines+17.46%×ICU resources+15.53%×airway management+14.07%×DVT prevention+13.61%×severity of patient condition.This evidence-based quality scoring system will help in assessing the key elements of quality management and establish a foundation for further optimization of the quality control indicator system.Longxiang Su Xudong Ma Sifa Gao Zhi Yin Yujie Chen Wenhu Wang Huaiwu He Wei Du Yaoda Hu Dandan Ma Feng Zhang Wen Zhu Xiaoyang Meng Guoqiang Sun Lian Ma Huizhen Jiang Guangliang Shan Dawei Liu Xiang Zhou China-NCCQC 2023Frontiers of Medicine2023,17,4:0

11Investigation of typical residential block typologies and their impact on pedestrianlevel microclimate in summers in Nanjing, China显示文摘The morphology of urban residential blocks in China,which is strictly affected by regulations,can potentially improve or deteriorate microclimates.This paper first proposes a framework for identifying typical residential block typologies using Nanjing as an example.A thorough investigation,consisting of 114 samples,was conducted,and 18 typical residential block typologies were summarized.Second,3D non-isothermal numerical simulations were performed on the hottest days of summer using the ENVI-met.The effect of morphological indices on the microclimate at the pedestrian level was explored using statistical methods and a novel graphic method named m-SpaceMate.The results revealed a strong correlation between the urban heat island intensity(UHII),mean radiation temperature,and universal thermal climate index(UTCI)and floor area ratio(FAR),as well as between wind velocity(U)and building coverage ratio(BCR).A significant increase in FAR(by approximately 1.0)can result in a low UTCI that was driven by MRT and shading conditions.Six-floor blocks,with FAR between 1.8 and 2.1,had a better overall thermal environment(except for lower U)than that of 11-floor blocks.When considering a similar BCR,blocks with slab-type buildings tended to have a U that was higher by approximately 30%.Mingjie Zhang Wei You Qin Qin Dandan Peng Youpei Hu Zhi Gao Riccardo Buccolieri 2022Frontiers of Architectural Research2022,11,2:0
