| 1 | Validation of CFD-DEM model for iron ore reduction at particle level and parametric study显示文摘Iron ore reduction is a primary unit operation in current metallurgy processes and dominates the energy consumption and greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions of the iron-making process,Therefore,even a slight improvement of the energy efficiency or GHG emissions of iron ore reduction would yield considerable benefits to the cost of pig iron and,more importantly,to mitigation of the associated carbon footprint.The current study presents a discrete model that describes the iron ore reduction process for a single pellet.The transient reaction progress can be predicted and is validated against experimental measurements under various operating conditions,including different reducing gases and temperatures.The effects of pressure,isothermality,gas composition,and flow rate on reduction are investigated.The reduction rate increases significantly with increasing pressure until 5 atm,and the entire reduction process occurs more slowly under non-isothermal conditions than under isothermal conditions.This work provides a solid foundation for the development of a comprehensive particulate system model that considers both heat and mass transfer. | Dianyu E | 2020 | Particuology2020,18,4: | 8 |
| 2 | Magnetic and Microwave-absorption Properties of Graphite-coated (Fe, Ni) Nanocapsules显示文摘The structure, magnetic and microwave-absorption properties of graphite-coated (Fe, Ni) alloy nanocapsules, synthesized by the arc-discharge method, have been studied. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy shows that the nanocapsules have a core/shell structure with (Fe, Ni) alloy as the core and graphite as the shell. All (Fe, Ni) alloy nanocapsules/paraffin composites show good microwave-absorption properties. The optimal reflection loss (RL) was found for (Fe70Ni30)/C nanocapsules/paraffin composites, being -47.84 dB at 14.6 GHz for an absorber thickness of 1.99 mm, while the RL values exceeding -10 dB were found in the 12.4- 17.4 GHz range, which almost covers the Ku band (12.4-18 GHz). | 3 | A single-level composite structure optimization method based on a blending tapered model显示文摘In order to decrease the number of design variables and improve the efficiency of com- posite structure optimal design, a single-level composite structure optimization method based on a tapered model is presented. Compared with the conventional multi-level composite structure opti- mization method, this single-level method has many advantages. First, by using a distance variable and a ply group variable, the number of design variables is decreased evidently and independent with the density of sub-regions, which makes the single-level method very suitable for large-scale composite structures. Second, it is very convenient to optimize laminate thickness and stacking sequence in the same level, which probably improves the quality of optimal result. Third, ply con-tinuity can be guaranteed between sub-regions in the single-level method, which could reduce stress concentration and manufacturing difficulty. | 5 | Discrete Particle Simulation of Gas-Solid Flow in Air-Blowing Seed Metering Device显示文摘In this paper,the gas and seed flow characters in the air-blowing seed metering device are investigated by using the coupled computational fluid dynamics and discrete element method(CFD-DEM)in three dimensions(3D).The method of establishing boundary model based on the computer-aided design(CAD)drawing,has been used to build the boundary model of seed metering device.The 3D laser scanning technique and multi-element method are adopted to establish the particle model.Through a combined numerical and experimental effort,using 3D CFD-DEM software,which is based on the in-house codes,the mechanisms governing the gas and solid dynamic behaviors in the seed metering device have been studied.The gas velocity field and the effect of different rotational speeds and air pressures on the seeding performance and particle velocity have been studied,similar agreements between numerical and experimental results are gained.This reveals that the 3D CFD-DEM model established is able to predict the performance of the air-blowing seed metering device.It can be used to design and optimize the air-blowing seed metering device and other similar agriculture devices. | Zhengquan Li Pei Zhang Yongchang Sun Chenglin Zheng Liang Xu Dianyu E | 2021 | Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2021,,6: | 2 |

Ga and Zr; respectively, for Fe on the structure and magnetic properties of Nd8.4Fe87.1B4.5 alloy prepared by mechanical alloying has been studied in detail. It has been shown that, intrinsic coercivity μ0 Hc and maximum magnetic energy product (BH)max increase for only Zr or Ga-containing samples, which is mainly due to the refinement of soft grains. The combined addition of Co and Ga is less effective for improving μoHc and (BH)max than the respective addition of Co or Ga. which may be due to the formation of CsCl-type CoGa. μoHc and (BH)max for combined Co, Ga. | 11 | Structural and Magnetic Properties of Sm_3(Fe,Ti)_(29) and Sm_3(Fe,Ti)_(29)X_y (X=H, N) Compounds显示文摘The alloy with nominal composition Sm2(Fe0.94Ti0.06)17 is prepared by arc-melting, hydrogenation and nitrogenation processes. The Sm2(Fe0.94Ti0.06)17 alloy has a single phase of Sm3(Fe, Ti)29 with the Nd3(Fe, Ti)29-type structure. The corresponding hydride phase with the same phase structure of the parent alloy was formed after a hydrogen decrepitation (HD) process at 300℃. The hydrogenation at 800℃ mainly shows a HDDR process. The HD and nitrogenation at 500℃ result in increasing the Curie temperature of the alloy by 72℃ and by 158℃ due to lattice expansions, respectively. The anisotropic and isotropic Sm3(Fe. Ti)29Ny magnets are obtained after HD, HDDR and the consequent nitrogenation, respectively. The optimum magnetic properties of Sm3(Fe, Ti)29Ny powders achieved in the above two processes are: (i) Br=0;82 T, iHc=4.48 kA/cm. | 12 | Hard Magnetic Properties of Sm-Fe-C Based Alloys Prepared by Mechanical Alloying显示文摘The structure and magnetic properties of Sm.Fel00-1.5y C0.5y(y=8-20) alloys prepared by mechanical alloying (MA) from Sm, Fe and graphite have been investigated systematically. In order to improve hard magnetic properties of the alloys prepared by mechanical alloying, a new method consisting of re-milling and re-annealing was developed. After being re-milled and re-annealed, the Curie temperature TC of the Sm-Fe-C alloys changes. The TC of 2:17 phase increases, whereas the TC of 2.14.1 phase decreases. After being re-annealed at low temperatures, the grain sizes of hard phases are smaller than those in the alloys annealed at high temperatures. It is found that the matrix of the alloys Dy1-xPrxFe2 is a single phase (Dy, Pr)Fe2 with MgCu2-type structure and the second phase is (Dy, Pr)Fe3 when x≤0.2. The amount of (Dy, Pr)Fe3 phase increases with increasing Pr content and becomes the main phase when x=0.4. The matrix of Dy1-x.PrxFe2 is found to be the (Dy, Pr)2Fe17 phase with Th2Zn17-type structure when x=0.5. It is found that the amount of the cubic Laves phase (Dy, Pr)(Fe, Co)2 in the Dy0.6Pr0.4(Fel-Coy)2 increases with increasing Co concentration when 0≤y≤0.6. The substitution of Ni for Fe is nearly not favorable for the formation of the cubic Laves phase (Dy, Pr)(Fe, Ni)2 in (Dy1-xPrx)Fe2. The matrix of (Tb1-z Prz)(Fe0.4Co0.6)2 is a (Tb, Pr)(Fe, Co)2 phase with the MgCu2-type cubic Laves structure and a second phase of small amount is (Tb. Pr)(Fe, Co)3 phase when z≤O.2, z=0.5 and 1.0.
