1Regulating cost for renewable energy integration in power grids显示文摘To address the issue of climate change caused by the use of polluting, non-renewable energy sources, the use of renewable energy has gained momentum worldwide. Consequently, the increased integration of renewable energy sources into power grids has necessitated the inclusion of flexible capacities in the power systems to solve problems of intermittent and fluctuating characteristics associated with renewable generation outputs. In this work, we study the regulating cost of a power system with high renewable penetration using an improved time-series system production simulation analysis method. The operational cost of the system is considered as the objective function. Three different methods to increase regulating capacities, including using interconnection lines, building additional flexible power capacities, and retrofitting existing thermal power plants, are adopted and simulated to compare the costs of accommodating renewable energy in the system in these cases. 2Numerical Simulation for Shallow Strata Stability of Coral Reef in the Southwest of Yongshu Reef(South China Sea)显示文摘In recent years, infrastructure construction on coral reefs has been increasingly developed. Therefore, the shallow strata stability of coral reefs in the South China Sea should be evaluated. This study aims to investigate the profiles for the shallow strata of coral reefs in the southwest of the Yongshu Reef, particularly in the hydrodynamic marine environment, and to establish a geological model for numerical simulation using Geo-Studio. The shallow strata of the coral reefs include mass gravel, sand gravel, mid-coarse sand, silty sand, fine sand, and reef limestone. The shallow reef slope near the lagoon is similar to a ‘layer cake', in which the side close to the sea is analogous to a ‘block cake'. The simulation results showed that coral reef stability depends on wave loads and earthquake strength and on the physical properties of coral reefs. The factor of safety for the outer reef is greater than 10.0 under static, wave, and seismic conditions; this indicated that the outer reefs were less affected by waves and earthquakes. However, the factor of safety next to the lagoon varied from 0.1 to 5.3. The variation was primarily caused by the thick strata of coral reefs close to the sea(reef limestone, typically with the thickness > 10 m and equivalent to a block). The soil and rock layers in the coral reef strata with thicknesses < 10 m showed weak engineering geological characteristics. 4Effect of the hyaluronic acid-poloxamer hydrogel on skin-wound healing: in vitro and in vivo studies显示文摘Background: Recent research into skin injury and wound healing has focused mainly on post‐trauma hemostasis, infection prevention, dermal regeneration and angiogenesis. However, less attention has been paid to air permeability and moisture loss prevention which also play important roles in injury healing. Methods: In the present work, we prepared a hyaluronic acid‐poloxamer (HA‐POL) hydrogel and tested the therapeutic effect of the hydrogel on skin‐wound healing. Results: The HA‐POL hydrogel transformed from sol to gel at 30°C, close to body temperature, and had stable moisturizing properties. HA‐POL hydrogel promoted skin‐wound healing and increased protein accumulation in the wound area. HA‐POL hydrogel allowed greater air permeability than Band‐aid, a typical wound covering. Results from transwell assays showed that the HA‐POL hydrogel effectively isolated skin‐wounds from bacterial invasion. 6Quantitative examination of the inhibitory activation of molecular targeting agents in hepatocellular carcinoma patient-derived cell invasion via a novel in vivo tumor model显示文摘Background: The outcomes for patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) receiving sorafenib are far from satisfactory because of treatment resistance to sorafenib. However, the exact mechanism of resistance to sorafenib remains unclear and it is valuable to establish a novel mouse model to quantitatively analyze the inhibition rates of sorafenib on the invasive growth of HCC cells in the liver.Methods: HCC tissue microblocks derived from patients were cultured and mixed with hydrogel drops. Then, hydrogel drops containing microblocks of HCC tissue were attached onto the surface of the livers of nude mice to form lesions or nodules of HCC. The mice received molecular targeting agents through oral administration. Livers with tumor nodules were harvested for H&E staining(hematoxylin-eosin staining) analysis and H&E staining images were quantitatively analyzed using image J software. The invasive growth of HCC cells into the liver was calculated using the depth of the lesions compared with the total thickness of the liver.Results: Microblocks containing cells derived from HCC patients can form lesions in the liver of nude mice. 9The influence of earthquakes on Zhubi Reef in the Nansha Islands of the South China Sea显示文摘It is exceedingly important to estimate the stability of coral reefs. In recent years, growing construction projects have been carried out on the reef flat in the South China Sea. As a special marine geotechnical medium, it is made of the reef debris underwent overwhelmingly long geological age. Reefs grow thickly on the carbonate platform after the Late Oligocene and have five to six main sedimentary facies. It can be used as a recorder to measure the occurrence time of recent earthquake. A model of reef body is presented to study the influence of earthquakes according to the geological structure characteristic of reefs in the Nansha Islands. Furthermore, Geo Studio is used to simulate stress and deformation situations within it under various earthquake intensities. A safety factor is calculated by the limit equilibrium method, and the possible scenarios of earthquake-induced landslides and sliding scale are defined with a Newmark sliding block method, as well as stress distribution and deformation behaviors. Therefore, the numerical results suggest that the connections between the coral reef and the earthquake are as follows:(1) the reef body has a good stability under self-gravity state;(2) after the earthquake, it may cause slope's instability and bring out slumping when the safety factor is smaller than 1(FS<1);(3) the safety factor decreases with the increasing earthquake intensity, and fluctuates around a particular value after a while;and(4) as a new developed part of the reef, the smaller shallow landslide will be easily subject to collapse caused by the earthquake. It is concluded that it is feasible to provide a reference for evaluating the stability of coral reef using a geotechnical engineering simulation method. 10APFD:an effective approach to taxi route recommendation with mobile trajectory big data显示文摘With the rapid development of data-driven intelligent transportation systems,an efficient route recommendation method for taxis has become a hot topic in smart cities.We present an effective taxi route recommendation approach(called APFD)based on the artificial potential field(APF)method and Dijkstra method with mobile trajectory big data.Specifically,to improve the efficiency of route recommendation,we propose a region extraction method that searches for a region including the optimal route through the origin and destination coordinates.Then,based on the APF method,we put forward an effective approach for removing redundant nodes.Finally,we employ the Dijkstra method to determine the optimal route recommendation.In particular,the APFD approach is applied to a simulation map and the real-world road network on the Fourth Ring Road in Beijing.On the map,we randomly select 20 pairs of origin and destination coordinates and use APFD with the ant colony(AC)algorithm,greedy algorithm(A*),APF,rapid-exploration random tree(RRT),non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm-II(NSGA-II),particle swarm optimization(PSO),and Dijkstra for the shortest route recommendation.Compared with AC,A*,APF,RRT,NSGA-II,and PSO,concerning shortest route planning,APFD improves route planning capability by 1.45%–39.56%,4.64%–54.75%,8.59%–37.25%,5.06%–45.34%,0.94%–20.40%,and 2.43%–38.31%,respectively.Compared with Dijkstra,the performance of APFD is improved by 1.03–27.75 times in terms of the execution efficiency.In addition,in the real-world road network,on the Fourth Ring Road in Beijing,the ability of APFD to recommend the shortest route is better than those of AC,A*,APF,RRT,NSGA-II,and PSO,and the execution efficiency of APFD is higher than that of the Dijkstra method.Wenyong ZHANG Dawen XIA Guoyan CHANG Yang HU Yujia HUO Fujian FENG Yantao LI Huaqing LI 2022Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering2022,23,10:0
11Chloride-binding capacity of mortars composed of marine sand subjected to external chloride penetration显示文摘In order to explore the interactional relations of internal chloride and external chloride-binding amongst the cementitious materials,the chloride-binding capacity of mortars composed of marine sand(MS)or washed marine sand(WMS)were investigated.Results indicate that more external chloride can penetrate and diff use more deeply into the WMS mortar than that in the MS mortar.This phenomenon suggests that the external chloride migration resistance due to WMS is lower than that caused by MS.The distribution trends of the bound chloride content in the two types of mortars are the same at diff erent immersion times.However,a signifi cantly decreased area of the bound chloride content exists at the border of the external penetration area(EPA)and the external unaff ected area(EUA)at the immersion ages of 3 and 7 d,and then it disappears gradually with immersion time.The WMS mortar can bind more external chloride,whereas the MS mortar can bind more internal chloride,at diff erent immersion times.The distributions of bound chloride conversion rate in the EPAs of the two types of mortars diff er across immersion times.The distribution fi rstly decreases,and then it increases at the immersion ages of 3 and 7 d.The distribution was from increase,then decreases,and increase again at the immersion ages of 28 and 56 d.The bound chloride conversion rate in the WMS mortar is aff ected more greatly by external chloride penetration than that in the MS mortar.The amounts of the Friedel’s salt tend to increase with prolonged immersion time.Finally,the penetration of external chloride can increase the amount of fi ne capillary pores smaller than 100 nm in the WMSmortar exposed for 56 d in the chloride salt solution(WMS-E)specimen.Congtao SUN Ming SUN Tao TAO Feng QU Gongxun WANG Peng ZHANG Yantao LI Jizhou DUAN 2022Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2022,40,4:0
