| 1 | The Sunway TaihuLight supercomputer: system and applications显示文摘The Sunway Taihu Light supercomputer is the world's first system with a peak performance greater than 100 PFlops. In this paper, we provide a detailed introduction to the Taihu Light system. In contrast with other existing heterogeneous supercomputers, which include both CPU processors and PCIe-connected many-core accelerators(NVIDIA GPU or Intel Xeon Phi), the computing power of Taihu Light is provided by a homegrown many-core SW26010 CPU that includes both the management processing elements(MPEs)and computing processing elements(CPEs) in one chip. With 260 processing elements in one CPU, a single SW26010 provides a peak performance of over three TFlops. To alleviate the memory bandwidth bottleneck in most applications, each CPE comes with a scratch pad memory, which serves as a user-controlled cache. To support the parallelization of programs on the new many-core architecture, in addition to the basic C/C++and Fortran compilers, the system provides a customized Sunway Open ACC tool that supports the Open ACC2.0 syntax. | 4 | Characterization and pilot scale test of a fluidized bed two-stage gasification process for the production of clean industrial fuel gas from low-rank coal显示文摘To utilize low rank coal efficiently,a fluidized bed two-stage(FBTS)gasification process,mainly consisting of a FB pyrolyzer and a transport FB(TFB)gasifier,has been proposed for the production of clean fuel gas.To verify the feasibility and technical features of this novel gasification technology,a pilot autothermal platform,with a treating capacity of 100 kg/h for coal,was designed and built up.By adopting a kind of lignite from Inner Mongolia,the running state and fuel gas quality were compared systematically under typical operational conditions.The results show that by keeping the reaction temperatures of pyrolyzer and gasifier at around 840C and 1000C,respectively,the corresponding tar content in fuel gas at the outlets of pyrolyzer and gasifier were 1127 mg/Nm3 and 365 mg/Nm3,reaching a high tar removal efficiency.Under the stable operation state,the volume fractions of CO,H2,CH4 and CO2 in fuel gas were 14.4%,8.3%,3.4%and 11.3%,respectively,and the corresponding higher heating value of fuel gas was about 1100 kcal/Nm3.Compared with the tar from pyrolyzer,the heavy oil fraction in tar from gasifier reduced significantly,while the light oil components increased sharply simultaneously,showing significant effect of catalytic reforming by hot char bed on tar removal. | Xi Zeng Fang Wang Zhennan Han Yanlin Sun Yanbin Cui Guangwen Xu | 2018 | Carbon Resources Conversion2018,1,1: | 8 |
| 5 | Separate lateral parametrial lymph node dissection improves detection rate of parametrial lymph node metastasis in early-stage cervical cancer: 10-year clinical evaluation in a single center in China显示文摘Objective: To investigate the clinical significance of separate lateral parametrial lymph node dissection(LPLND) in improving parametrial lymph node(PLN) and its metastasis detection rate during radical hysterectomy for early-stage cervical cancer.Methods: From July 2007 to August 2017, 2,695 patients with cervical cancer in stage IB1-IIA2 underwent radical hysterectomy were included. Of these patients, 368 underwent separate dissection of PLNs using the LPLND method, and 2,327 patients underwent conventional radical hysterectomy(CRH). We compared the surgical parameters, PLN detection rate and PLN metastasis rate between the two groups.Results: Compared with CRH group, the rate of laparoscopic surgery was higher(60.3% vs. 15.9%, P<0.001),and the blood transfusion rate was lower(19.0% vs. 29.0%, P<0.001) in the LPLND group. PLNs were detected in 356 cases(96.7%) in the LPLND group, and 270 cases(11.6%) in the CRH group(P<0.001), respectively. The number of PLNs detected in the LPLND group was higher than that in the CRH group(median 3 vs. 1, P<0.001).The PLN metastases were detected in 25 cases(6.8%) in the LPLND group, and 18 cases(0.8%) in the CRH group(P<0.001), respectively. In multivariable analysis, LPLND is an independent factor not only for PLN detection [odds ratio(OR)=228.999, 95% confidence interval(95% CI): 124.661-420.664;P<0.001], but also for PLN metastasis identification(OR=10.867, 95% CI: 5.381-21.946;P<0.001).Conclusions: LPLND is feasible and safe. | 7 | Follistatin-like protein 1 plays a tumor suppressor role in clear-cell renal cell carcinoma显示文摘Background:We previously showed that the expression of follistatin-like protein 1(FSTL1)was significantly down-regulated in metastatic clear-cell renal cell carcinoma(ccRCC).In this study,we aimed to characterize the role of FSTL1 in the development of ccRCC.Methods:The effects of FSTL1 on cell activity and cell cycle were investigated in ccRCC cell lines with altered FSTL1 expression.Gene expression microarray assays were performed to identify the major signaling pathways affected by FSTL1 knockdown.The expression of FSTL1 in ccRCC and its effect on postoperative prognosis were estimated in a cohort with 89 patients.Results:FSTL1 knockdown promoted anchorage-independent growth,migration,invasion,and cell cycle of ccRCC cell lines,whereas FSTL1 overexpression attenuated cell migration.FSTL1 knockdown up-regulated nuclear factor-κB(NF-κB)and hypoxia-inducible factor(HIF)signaling pathways,increased epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition,up-regulated interleukin-6 expression,and promoted tumor necrosis factor-α-induced degradation of NF-κB inhibitor(IκBα)in ccRCC cell lines.FSTL1 immunostaining was selectively positive in epithelial cytoplasm in the loop of Henle,and positive rate of FSTL1 was significantly lower in ccRCC tissues than in adjacent renal tissues(P<0.001).The mul-tivariate Cox regression analysis showed that the intratumoral FSTL1 expression conferred a favorable independent prognosis with a hazard ratio of 0.325(95%confidence interval 0.118-0.894).HIF-2αexpression was negatively cor-related with FSTL1 expression in ccRCC specimens(r=−0.229,P=0.044).Intratumoral expression of HIF-2α,rather than HIF-1α,significantly predicted an unfavorable prognosis in ccRCC(log-rank,P=0.038).Conclusions:FSTL1 plays a tumor suppression role possibly via repressing the NF-κB and HIF-2αsignaling pathways.To increase FSTL1 expression might be a candidate therapeutic strategy for metastatic ccRCC. | Yan Liu Xiaojie Tan Wenbin Liu Xi Chen Xiaomei Hou Dan Shen Yibo Ding Jianhua Yin Ling Wang Hongwei Zhang Yongwei Yu Jianguo Hou Timothy C.Thompson Guangwen Cao | 2018 | Cancer Communications2018,38,1: | 5 |

| 9 | Comparison of CMAS corrosion and sintering induced microstructural characteristics of APS thermal barrier coatings显示文摘The microstructural features of high-temperature sintered and CaO-MgO-Al_2O_3-SiO_2(CMAS) corroded air plasma sprayed Y_2O_3 stabilized ZrO_2(YSZ) thermal barrier coatings(TBCs) under the thermal gradient condition were comparatively studied. As-sprayed YSZ has a lamellar structure and the lamellae are composed of closely aligned columnar crystals. The sintered and the CMAS corroded YSZ coatings maintain the t'-ZrO_2 phase as the as-sprayed YSZ coating. The sintered YSZ remains the lamellar structure with reduced interlamellar gaps and grains coarsening. After the CMAS corrosion, the top layer of the YSZ coating keeps its lamellar structure consisting of some columnar grains with the CMAS infiltration into the intergrain gaps and the formation of striped Zr_2Y_2 O_7. | 10 | Tandem fluidized bed elutriator——Pneumatic classification of coal particles in a fluidized conveyer显示文摘Coal moisture control (CMC) in coking process, which reduces coal moisture before loading the coal into the coke oven, allows substantial reduction in coking energy consumption and increase in coke productivity. The technology is seeking to integrate the coal classification, thus calling it the coal classifying moisture control (CCMC), to separate the fine and coarse coal fractions in the CMC process so that the downstream coal crushing can only treat the coarse fraction. CCMC adopts a reactor that integrates a fluidized bottom section and a pneumatic conveying top section. The present work investigates the pneumatic classification behavior in a laboratory CCMC reactor with such a configuration by removing the coal fraction below a given size (e.g., 3.0 mm) from a 0 to 20.0 mm coal feed. The results show that the coal classification were dominated by the gas velocity in the top conveying section, and the required gas velocity for ensuring the maximal degree of removing a fine coal fraction could be roughly predicted by the Richardson and Zaki equation. | 15 | Influenza A virus use of BinCARD1 to facilitate the binding of viral NP to importinα7 is counteracted by TBK1-p62 axis-mediated autophagy显示文摘As a major component of the viral ribonucleoprotein(vRNP)complex in influenza A virus(IAV),nucleoprotein(NP)interacts with isoforms of importinαfamily members,leading to the import of itself and vRNP complex into the nucleus,a process pivotal in the replication cycle of IAV.In this study,we found that BinCARD1,an isoform of Bcl10-interacting protein with CARD(BinCARD),was leveraged by IAV for efficient viral replication.BinCARD1 promoted the nuclear import of the vRNP complex and newly synthesized NP and thus enhanced vRNP complex activity.Moreover,we found that BinCARD1 interacted with NP to promote NP binding to importinα7,an adaptor in the host nuclear import pathway.However,we also found that BinCARD1 promoted RIG-I-mediated innate immune signaling by mediating Lys63-linked polyubiquitination of TRAF3,and that TBK1 appeared to degrade BinCARD1.We showed that BinCARD1 was polyubiquitinated at residue K103 through a Lys63 linkage,which was recognized by the TBK1-p62 axis for autophagic degradation.Overall,our data demonstrate that IAV leverages BinCARD1 as an important host factor that promotes viral replication,and two mechanisms in the host defense system are triggered—innate immune signaling and autophagic degradation—to mitigate the promoting effect of BinCARD1 on the life cycle of IAV. | Xuyuan Wang Li Jiang Guangwen Wang Wenjun Shi Yuzhen Hu Bo Wang Xianying Zeng Guobin Tian Guohua Deng Jianzhong Shi Liling Liu Chengjun Li Hualan Chen | 2022 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2022,19,10: | 3 |
| 16 | Porous carbon from vinegar lees for phenol adsorption显示文摘An effective technology for utilizing vinegar lees (VL), a biomass waste generated during its production, is much needed in China due to the huge consumption of vinegar. This study investigates the preparation of porous carbon (PC) from VL, now reporting on the adsorption capability of PC in removing phenol from its aqueous solution. The preparation of PC consists of carbonization of VL in N 2 and activation in CO 2 . The results show that the optimal activation temperature and time in CO 2 for VL char carbonized at 800 ° C were 875 ° C and 1 h, respectively. The PC prepared was found to have large specific surface area and micropore volume, with an adsorptive capacity for phenol from its aqueous solution much higher than that of commercial coconut shell activated carbon (CSAC). | 17 | Triboelectric properties of ilmenite and quartz minerals and investigation of triboelectric separation of ilmenite ore显示文摘Triboelectric separation, as an entirely dry technology, is a prospective method to process fine minerals.The aim of this paper is to investigate the performance of triboelectric separation of ilmenite and quartz minerals in a lab unit and to get ready for the separation of ilmenite ore. A tribocharge measurement system was used to test the triboelectric properties of ilmenite and quartz particles with tribochargers respectively made of PVC, PPR, PMMA, Teflon, copper, stainless steel and quartz glass. The results show that the ilmenite particles charged positively while quartz charged negatively when tribocharged with PVC tribocharger. The mixture of 12% ilmenite and 88% quartz was prepared for the triboelectric separation. The recovery of ilmenite increases with the increase of airflow rate, decreases with the increasing feed rate, and grows up firstly and then decreases with the increasing voltage. A maximum ilmenite recovery of 51.71% with ilmenite content 32.72% was obtained at 40 m^3/h airflow rate, 6 g/s feed rate and 20 kV voltage. | 19 | Mapping and validation of the epistatic D and P genes controlling anthocyanin biosynthesis in the peel of eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) fruit显示文摘Fruit color is an important trait inf luencing the commercial value of eggplant fruits.Three dominant genes(D,P and Y)cooperatively control the anthocyanin coloration in eggplant fruits,but none has been mapped.In this study,two white-fruit accessions(19141 and 19147)and their F2 progeny,with 9:7 segregation ratio of anthocyanin pigmented versus non-pigmented fruits,were used for mapping the D and P genes.A high-density genetic map was constructed with 5270 SNPs spanning 1997.98 cM.Three QTLs were identified,including two genes on chromosome 8 and one on chromosome 10.Gene expression analyses suggested that the SmANS on chromosome 8 and SmMYB1 on chromosome 10 were the putative candidate genes for P and D,respectively.We further identified(1)a SNP leading to a premature stop codon within the conserved PLN03176 domain of SmANS in 19141,(2)a G base InDel in the promoter region leading to an additional cis-regulatory element and(3)a 6-bp InDel within the R2-MYB DNA binding domain of SmMYB1,in 19147.Subsequently,these three variations were validated by PARMS technology as related to phenotypes in the F2 population.Moreover,silencing of SmANS or SmMYB1 in the purple red fruits of F1(E3316)led to inhibition of anthocyanin biosynthesis in the peels.Conversely,overexpression of SmANS or SmMYB1 restored anthocyanin biosynthesis in the calli of 19141 and 19147 respectively.Our findings demonstrated the epistatic interactions underlying the white color of eggplant fruits,which can be potentially applied to breeding of eggplant fruit peel color. | Qian You Huimin Li Jun Wu Tao Li Yikui Wang Guangwen Sun Zhiliang Li Baojuan Sun | 2023 | Horticulture Research2023,10,2: | 2 |
