2Aquaporin 5 is degraded by autophagy in diabetic submandibular gland显示文摘Autophagy is a catabolic process which is involved in the development of many diseases including diabetes mellitus and its complications. Hyposalivation is a common complication of diabetes mellitus, whereas its mechanism remains unclear. Here, we observed that the stimulated salivary flow rate of SMG was significantly decreased in db/db mice, a diabetic mice model. The expressions of aquaporin 5(AQP5), a water channel protein, were decreased, whereas the m RNA level of AQP5 was increased in SMGs of both diabetic patients and mice. Under transmission electron microcope, more autophagosomes were detected in diabetic SMGs. Expressions of autophagy related proteins LC3 II, Beclin-1 and ATG5 were increased, meanwhile autophagy substrate p62 was decreased in SMGs of diabetic patients and mice, indicating that autophagy was activated in diabetic SMG.Double immunofluorescence staining showed that the colocalization of AQP5 and LC3 was increased in SMGs of diabetic mice.In cultured SMG-C6 cells, high glucose(HG), but not high osmotic pressure, reduced AQP5 protein expression and induced autophagy. Moreover, inhibition of autophagy by 3-methyladenin, an autophagy inhibitor, or by autophagy-related gene 5 siRNA, decreased HG-induced AQP5 reduction in SMG-C6 cells. Additionally, the expression of p-p85, p-Akt and p-mTOR were decreased in HG-treated SMG-C6 cells. Pretreatment with 740 Y-P, a PI3 K agonist, significantly suppressed HG-induced autophagy and AQP5 degradation. Taken together, these results indicate that autophagy plays a crucial role in AQP5 degradation in diabetic SMG via PI3 K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway, which contributes to the dysfunction of diabetic SMG. 3Variations in silicate concentration affecting photosynthetic carbon fixation by spring phytoplankton assemblages in surface water of the Strait of Malacca显示文摘The Strait of Malacca (SoM), the world's busiest sea-route, is increasingly polluted as the rapid development of world trades, affecting phytoplankton primary productivity therein. The variations of surface phytoplankton biomass, size-structure and carbon fixation were investigated across the SoM during the spring period (May 4 to 9, 2011). Chlorophyll a concentration increased from 0.12 μg/L at the northwest entrance of the SoM to a maximal 0.63 μg/L at narrowest section, and decreased to 0.10 μg/L at the southeast entrance. Photosynthetic carbon fixation by phytoplankton coincided well with Chl a biomass, and increased from 10.8 to 22.3 μg C/(L d), then decreased to 9.21 μg C/(L d); while the carbon fixation rate showed an inverse pattern to the changes of Chl a, and decreased from 87.1 to 35.5 μg C/(μg Chl a d) and increased thereafter to 95.3 μg C/(μg Chla·d). Picophytoplankton cells (<3 μm) contributed to more than 60% and 50% of the total Chl a and carbon fixation at both the entry waters; while the contributions of pico-cells decreased sharply to the minimum of 18.3% and 27.5% at the narrowest part of the SoM. 4Improvement of the lubrication properties of grease with Mn_(3)O_(4)/graphene (Mn_(3)O_(4)#G) nanocomposite additive显示文摘Although grease can effectively lubricate machines,lubrication failure may occur under high speed and heavy load conditions.In this study,Mn_(3)O_(4)/graphene nanocomposites(Mn_(3)O_(4)#G)were synthetized using a hydrothermal method as lubricant additives.The lubrication properties of compound grease with Mn_(3)O_(4)#G nanocomposite additive under heavy contact loads of 600–900 N(3.95–4.59 GPa)were investigated.First,the nanocomposites were dispersed into L-XBCEA 0 lithium grease via successive electromagnetic stirring,ultrasound vibration,and three-roll milling.Compound grease with additives of commercial graphene(Com#G)was also investigated for comparison.Tribological test results revealed that the trace amounts of Mn_(3)O_(4)#G(as low as 0.02 wt%)could reduce the coefficient of friction(COF)of grease significantly.When the concentration of Mn_(3)O_(4)#G was 0.1 wt%,the COF and wear depth were 43.5%and 86.1%,lower than those of pure graphene,respectively.In addition,under the effect of friction,the microstructure of graphene in Mn_(3)O_(4)#G nanocomposites tends to be ordered and normalized.Furthermore,most of the Mn_(3)O_(4) transformed into Mn_(2)O_(3) owing to the high temperature generated from friction.Using the Ar gas cluster ion beam sputtering method,the thickness of the tribofilm was estimated to be 25–34 nm.Finally,the improvement of the lubrication properties was attributed to the synergistic effect of the adsorbed tribofilm,i.e.,the graphene island effect and the filling effect of Mn_(3)O_(4)#G.Bao JIN Guangyan CHEN Jun ZHAO Yongyong HE Yiyao HUANG Jianbin LUO 2021Friction2021,9,6:2
5Longitudinal patterns of spring-intermonsoon phytoplankton biomass,species compositions and size structure in the Bay of Bengal显示文摘Vertical distributions of phytoplankton biomass,compositions and size structure were investigated during the spring-intermonsoon (April 22 to 30) of 2010 along transact 10 N of the Bay of Bengal,northern Indian Ocean.Surface phytoplankton biomass (Chl a) was (0.065 ± 0.009) μg/L,being greater than 80% of which was contributed by pico-phytoplankton (<3 μm).The Chl a concentration vertically increased to the maximal values at deep chlorophyll maximum (DCM) layer that shoaled eastwards from 75 to 40 m.The Chl a biomass at DCM layer generally varied between 0.2 and 0.4 μg/L,reaching the maximum of 0.56 μg/L with micro-phytoplankton cells (>20 μm) accounting for 58% and nano-(3-20 μm) or pico-cells for 15% and 27%,respectively.In particular,the cells concentration coupling well with phosphate level was observed at middle layer (75-100 m) of 87 to 89 E,dominated by micro-cells diatoms (e.g.,Chaetoceros atlanticus v.neapolitana,Chaetoceros femur and Pseudonitzschia sp.) and cyanobacteria (i.e.,Trichodesmium hildebrandtii),with the cells concentration reached as high as 4.0 × 10 4 and 4.3 × 10 4 cells/L.At the rest of the transact however,dinoflagellates (e.g.,Amphisdinium carterae and Prorocentrum sp.) were the dominant species,with the cells concentration varying from 0.3 × 10 3 to 6.8 × 10 3 cells/L.Our results also indicate that the regulation of large cells (micro-,nano-) on phytoplankton biomass merely occurred at DCM layer of the Bay.LI Gang KE Zhixin LIN Qiang NI Guangyan SHEN Pingping LIU Huaxue YIN Jianqiang LI Kaizhi HUANG Liangmin TAN Yehui 2012Acta Oceanologica Sinica2012,31,2:2
6Hydrologic balance, net primary productivity and water use efficiency of the introduced exotic Eucalyptus grandis × Eucalyptus urophylla plantation in south-western China显示文摘Aims Land cover changes can disrupt water balance and alter the partitioning of precipitation into surface runoff,evapotranspiration and groundwater recharge.The widely planted Eucalyptus trees in south-western China have the potential to bring about hydrologic impacts.Our research aims to elucidate the hydrologic balance characteristics of the introduced exotic Eucalyptus grandis×Eucalyptus urophylla plantation and to assess whether its high productivity results from high water use efficiency(WUE)or large water consumption.Methods A 400-m^(2) experimental plot was established in an E.grandis×E.urophylla plantation in south-western China.Water balance components,including stand transpiration(T_(r)),evapotranspiration(E_(t))and runoff(R)were obtained as follows:T_(r) was estimated based on sap flow measurements,E_(t) was estimated as the average of surface transpiration and evaporation weighted by the fractional green vegetation cover using a modeling approach,and R was collected using the installed metal frame.Net primary productivity(NPP)was obtained from allometric equation and annual diameter at breast height(DBH)increment determination.Important Findings Annual E_(t) and T_(r) were 430±31 and 239±17 mm,respectively.Annual T_(r) accounts for 56±8%of total evapotranspiration on average.WUE(NPP/T_(r))of the E.grandis×E.urophylla was estimated to be 3.3–3.9 mmol·mol^(−1).Based on the comparative analysis of T_(r) and WUE,E.grandis×E.urophylla had a high productivity due to its high WUE without exhibiting prodigal water use.Meteorological factors including vapor pressure deficit and global solar radiation(R_(s))were key factors regulating E_(t) and T_(r) in our research site.Annual surface runoff,E_(t) and canopy interception occupied 7%,27–30%and 16%of total precipitation,while the remaining 46–50%of precipitation was used for sustaining groundwater recharge and altering soil water storage.The higher runoff coefficient(7.1%)indicated the weaker capability of E.grandis×E.urophylla to reserve water resource than natural forests and less disturbed plantations.The planting and protection of understory vegetation may decrease the surface runoff and exert beneficial effects on water conservation capacity of Eucalyptus plantation.Yanting Hu Ping Zhao Yuqing Huang Liwei Zhu Guangyan Ni Xiuhua Zhao Zhihong Huang 2019Journal of Plant Ecology2019,12,6:2

13PLX8394,a RAF inhibitor,inhibits enterovirus 71 replication by blocking RAF/MEK/ERK signaling显示文摘Enterovirus 71(EV71)poses a serious threat to human health,with scattered outbreaks worldwide.There are several vaccines against a few EV71 strains but no efficient drug for the treatment of EV71 infection.Therefore,it is urgent and of significance to develop anti-EV71 drugs.Here,we found that PLX8394,a RAF inhibitor,possesses high antiviral activity against EV71 in vitro,being superior to the traditional clinical drug ribavirin.Moreover,PLX8394 exhibits broad-spectrum antiviral activity against enteroviruses.Notably,in a suckling mouse model,PLX8394 provided a 70%protection rate for EV71-infected mice,reduced the viral load in liver and heart tissues,and relieved the inflammatory response.A mechanistic study showed that PLX8394 inhibited EV71 by suppressing the RAF/MEK/ERK signaling pathway.Thus,PLX8394 lays a foundation for the development of new drugs against EV71.Chengyuan Wu Guangyan Zhu Fang Qiu Fuli Ren Binbin Lin Dingyu Zhang Qingyu Yang Chaolin Huang 2023Virologica Sinica2023,38,2:0
14妊娠乳腺癌患者2例终止妊娠前或后行首程化疗的疗效分析并文献复习(英文)显示文摘Pregnancy-associated breast cancer (PABC) is defined as breast cancer occurring anytime during gestation, lactation, or within 1 year after delivery. The incidence is between 1 in 3000 and 1 in 10,000 pregnancies and comprises about 0.2% to 3.8% of all breast cancers diagnosed in women under the age of 50 years. As women tend to delay childbearing into their third and fourth decades, the incidence of PABC is expected to increase. Here we reported two PABC patients with similar clinic and pathologic characters received chemotherapy before or after termination of pregnancy respectively, and found that the former got pathologic complete response. 15Unique three-component co-assembly among AIEgen,L-GSH,and Ag^(+)for the formation of helical nanowires显示文摘Nature has selected,produced,and evolved numerous molecular architectural motifs over billions of years for particular bio-functions.During this process,molecular self-assembly plays a critically important role.Inspired by these delicate assemblies,scientists devote themselves to developing various sophisticated complexes assembled by diverse and numerous structural motifs.By far,most of the examples focus on single-molecule self-assembly or co-assembly between two molecules,seldom works report the co-assembly among three building blocks due to the substantially increased complexity and decreased controllability.Here we report a novel three-component co-assembly among L-glutathione(L-GSH),AgNO_(3),and an aggregation-induced emission luminogen(AIEgen),namely triphenylamine-pyridinium(abbreviated to TPA-Py).TPA-Py,L-GSH,and Ag^(+)co-assemble into numerous long and ordered nanowires with left-handed helices,which show remarkable AIE properties that can be observed by naked eyes.This effect is only detected in this system,the replacement of TPA-Py with other AIEgens,L-GSH with other cysteine derivatives or anions,Ag^(+)with other metal ions,could not lead to the unique AIE effect,which endows this system with high specificity and controllability.This work provides new insight into the design of biomolecule recognition systems and discloses that ternary co-assembly could become a facile route to build sophisticated nanobiomaterials.Xiaohuan Huang Junrong Li Hong Tang Miao Guo Xue Wang Xiaorong Wang Xu Wang Mingliang Tang Fusheng Zhang Yahui Zhang Xiaopei Li Guangyan Qing 2023Aggregate2023,4,2:0

17Content and Antidepressant Effects of Total Flavonoids from Zanthoxylum Pericarpium Residue显示文摘[Objectives]To study the content and antidepressant effects of the flavonoids in the Zanthoxylum Pericarpium Residue(ZPR)and to provide a basis for the full utilization of ZPR.[Methods]The method for the assay of total flavonoids in ZPR by UV spectrophotometry was developed with rutin as reference.The total flavonoids were extracted and separated from ZPR.The contents of total flavonoids were quantified in ZPR and its extract.The autonomous activity test,tail suspension test and forced swimming test were conducted in mice,and the levels of malondialdehyde(MDA),superoxide dismutase(SOD)and total antioxidation were detected to evaluate the antidepressant effects of total flavonoids.[Results]The recovery rate of UV spectrophotometry was 98.88%(n=6).The contents of flavonoids in ZPR and its extract were 11.07%and 78.42%,respectively.In the autonomous activity test,compared with the control group,the standing times of mice in the positive drug group was significantly increased(P<0.05),but there was not significant difference among the low-,medium-and high-dose groups of total flavonoids extract(P>0.05),as well as there was no significant difference of the activity times among all groups(P>0.05).In the tail suspension and forced swimming tests,compared with the control group,the immobility time of the high-dose group of total flavonoids extract was significantly reduced(P>0.05),and the serum SOD levels of the low-,medium-and high-dose groups were significantly increased(P<0.05).The MDA levels of the middle-and high-dose groups of total flavonoids were significantly decreased(P<0.05),and the total antioxidant capacity was increased significantly(P<0.05).[Conclusions]The developed UV spectrophotometry can accurately detect the level of total flavonoids in ZPR.ZPR is rich in flavonoids,and has significant antidepressant effects,which may be related to eliminating internal free radicals and inhibiting lipid peroxidation.Guangyan WANG Ting YANG Wenjing CHEN Shiwei HUANG Shanghong SONG Guanghua LU 2022Medicinal Plant2022,13,6:0
18The microbuckling failure of Dyneema~? composites under compression显示文摘Two grades of Dyneema~?composite laminates with the commercial designations of HB26 and HB50 were cut into blocks with or without an edge crack and compressed in the longitudinal fiber direction. The cracked and uncracked specimens show similar compressive responses including failure pattern and failure load. The two grades of Dyneema~? composites exhibits different failure modes: a diffuse, sinusoidal buckling pattern for Dyneema~? HB50 due to its weak matrix constituent and a kink band for Dyneema~? HB26 due to its relatively stronger matrix constituent. An effective finite element model is used to simulate the collapse of Dyneema~? composites, and the sensitivity of laminate compressive responses to the overall effective shear modulus, interlaminar shear strength, thickness and imperfection angle are investigated. 19Short Tail:taming tail latency for erasure-code-based in-memory systems显示文摘In-memory systems with erasure coding(EC)enabled are widely used to achieve high performance and data availability.However,as the scale of clusters grows,the server-level fail-slow problem is becoming increasingly frequent,which can create long tail latency.The influence of long tail latency is further amplified in EC-based systems due to the synchronous nature of multiple EC sub-operations.In this paper,we propose an EC-enabled in-memory storage system called ShortTail,which can achieve consistent performance and low latency for both reads and writes.First,ShortTail uses a lightweight request monitor to track the performance of each memory node and identify any fail-slow node.Second,ShortTail selectively performs degraded reads and redirected writes to avoid accessing fail-slow nodes.Finally,ShortTail posts an adaptive write strategy to reduce write amplification of small writes.We implement ShortTail on top of Memcached and compare it with two baseline systems.The experimental results show that ShortTail can reduce the P99 tail latency by up to 63.77%;it also brings significant improvements in the median latency and average latency.Yun TENG Zhiyue LI Jing HUANG Guangyan ZHANG 2022Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering2022,23,11:0
20INSTANTANEOUS DOPPLER FREQUENCY FOR SQUINT SAR IMAGING显示文摘Instantaneous Doppler frequency for squint SAR imaging has been found with ChirpScaling Algorithm (CSA). Because the azimuth sample is not perpendicular to the range sample,the range signal must impact on the azimuth signal in the squint SAR data processing, andthe different slant range targets have different Doppler frequencies. From the mathematicalmodel of SAR echo signal, this paper carefully analyzes the instantaneous azimuth frequency, theinstantaneous Doppler frequency component of the azimuth frequency and the impact of rangechirp on azimuth frequency, which explains that Doppler frequency should be properly selected forcorrect SAR imaging in the squint SAR.
