L_(1/2) regularization显示文摘In this paper we propose an L1 /2 regularizer which has a nonconvex penalty. The L 1/2 regularizer is shown to have many promising properties such as unbiasedness, sparsity and oracle properties.A reweighed iterative algorithm is proposed so that the solution of the L 1/2 regularizer can be solved through transforming it into the solution of a series of L 1 regularizers. The solution of the L 1/2 regularizer is more sparse than that of the L 1 regularizer, while solving the L 1/2 regularizer is much simpler than solving the L 0 regularizer. The experiments show that the L 1/2 regularizer is very useful and efficient, and can be taken as a representative of the Lp(0 < p < 1) regularizer. | XU ZongBen ZHANG Hai WANG Yao CHANG XiangYu LIANG Yong | 2010 | Science China(Information Sciences)2010,53,6: | 32

Salt-responsive genes in rice revealed by cDNA microarray analysis显示文摘We used cDNA microarrays containing ~9,000 unigenes to identify 486 salt responsive expressed sequence tags (ESTs) (representing ~450 unigenes) in shoots of the highly salt-tolerant rice variety, Nona Bokra (Oryza sativa L. Ssp.Indica pv. Nona). Some of the genes identified in this study had previously been associated with salt stress. Howeverthe majority were novel, indicating that there is a great number of genes that are induced by salt exposure. Analysis of the salt stress expression profile data of Nona provided clues regarding some putative cellular and molecular processes that are undertaken by this tolerant rice variety in response to salt stress. Namely, we found that multiple transcription factors were induced during the initial salt response of shoots. Many genes whose encoded proteins are implicated in detoxification, protectant and transport were rapidly induced. Genes supporting photosynthesis were repressed and those supporting carbohydrate metabolism were altered. Commonality among the genes induced by salt exposure with those induced during senescence and biotic stress responses suggests that there are shared signaling pathways among these processes. We further compared the transcriptome changes of the salt-sensitive cultivar, IR28, with that of Nona rice. Many genes that are salt responsive in Nona were found to be differentially regulated in IR28. This study identified a large number of candidate functional genes that appear to be involved in salt tolerance and further examination of these genes may enable the molecular basis of salt tolerance to be elucidated. | Dai Yin CHAO Yong Hai LUO Min SHI Da LUO Hong Xuan LIN | 2005 | Cell Research2005,15,10: | 17

Study on gob-side entry retaining in fully-mechanized longwall with top-coal caving and its application显示文摘Based on the engineering background of gob-side entry retaining in fully-mechanized longwall with top coal caving(GER-FLTC) on N2105 working face of Yuwu coal mine, by adopting the methods of theoretical analysis and numerical calculation, the control techniques of surrounding rocks in GER-FLTC working face are studied in this paper. The two main difficulties of stability of surrounding rocks at gob-side retained entry in fully-mechanized longwall working face are the stability control of top coal and control of large deformation of GER-FLTC working face. Interaction mechanical model between roofing and roadside backfilling in GER-FLTC is established and the equations for the calculation of roof-cutting resistance of roadside backfilling are derived. Results of numerical calculation show that the damage zones of top coal can be categorized into the delaminating zone of top coal above the backfilling, tensile damage zone of top coal above the retained roadway and shear damage zone of the upper rib of the solid coal. Stability control of top coal is the critical part to success of GER-FLTC. With consideration of large deformation of surrounding rocks of gob-side retained entry in fully-mechanized longwall, the support technique of‘‘roofing control and wall strengthening'' is proposed where high strength and highly prestressed anchor rods and diagonal tensile anchor cables support are used for top coal, high strength and highly prestressed yielding anchor rod support is used for solid coal and roadside prestressed load-carrying backfilling is constructed by high-water material, in order to maintain the integrity of the top coal, transfer load, high resistance yielding load-carrying of solid coal, roof-cutting of roadside backfilling and support, and to achieve GER-FLTC. | 10 | Hyperbaric oxygen improves functional recovery of rats after spinal cord injury via activating stromal cell-derived factor-1/CXC chemokine receptor 4 axis and promoting brain-derived neurothrophic factor expression显示文摘Background: Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a worldwide medical concern. This study aimed to elucidate the mechanism underlying protective effect of hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) against SCI-induced neurologic defects in rats via exploring the stromal cell-derived factor-1 (SDF-1)/CXC chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR4) axis and expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). Methods: An acute SCI rat model was established in Sprague-Dawley rats using the Allen method. Sixty rats were divided into four groups (w = 15 in each group): sham-operated, SCI, SCI treated with HBO (SCI + HBO), and SCI treated with both HBO and AMD3100 (an antagonist of CXCR4;SCI + HBO + AMD) groups. The rats were treated with HBO twice a day for 3 days and thereafter once a day after the surgery for up to 28 days. Following the surgery, neurologic assessments were performed with the Basso-Bettie-Bresnahan (BBB) scoring system on postoperative day (POD) 7, 14, 21, and 28. Spinal cord tissues were harvested to assess the expression of SDF-1, CXCR4, and BDNF at mRNA and protein levels, using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction, Western blot analysis, and histopathologic analysis. Results: HBO treatment recovered SCI-induced descent of BBB scores on POD 14,(1.25±0.75 vs. 1.03 ±0.66, P< 0.05), 21 (5.27± 0.89 vs. 2.56± 1.24, P< 0.05), and 28 (11.35±0.56 vs. 4.23± 1.20, P<0.05) compared with the SCI group. Significant differences were found in the mRNA levels of SDF-1 (mRNA: day 21, SCI + HBO vs. SCI + HBO + AMD, 2.89± 1.60 vs. 1.56±0.98, P<0.05), CXCR4 (mRNA: day 7, SCI + HBO vs. SCI, 2.99± 1.60 vs. 1.31 ±0.98, P<0.05;day 14, SCI + HBO vs. SCI + HBO + AMD, 4.18± 1.60 vs. 0.80±0.34, P<0.05;day 21, SCI + HBO vs. SCI, 2.10±1.01 vs.1.15±0.03, P<0.05), and BDNF (mRNA: day 7, SCI + HBO vs. SCI, 3.04±0.41 vs. 2.75±0.31, P<0.05;day 14, SCI + HBO vs. SCI, 3.88± 1.59 vs. 1.11 ±0.40, P<0.05), indicating the involvement of SDF-1/CXCR4 axis in the protective effect of HBO. Conclusions: HBO might promote the recovery of neurologic function after SCI in rats via activating the SDF-1/CXCR4 axis and promoting BDNF expression. | Xiang-Long Meng Yong Hai Xi-Nuo Zhang Yun-Sheng Wang Xue-Hua Liu Lin-Lin Ma Rong Yue Gang Xu Zhuo Li | 2019 | Chinese Medical Journal2019,,6: | 10

Correlation of Seven Biological Factors(Hsp90α,p53,MDM2,Bcl-2,Bax,Cytochrome C,and Cleaved caspase3)with Clinical Outcomes of ALK+ Anaplastic Large-cell Lymphoma显示文摘Objective To explore correlation of seven apoptosis‐related proteins (Hsp90α,p53,MDM2,Bcl‐2,Bax,Cytochrome C,and Cleaved caspase3) with clinical outcomes of ALK+ anaplastic large‐cell lymphoma (ALCL).Methods Using immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence double staining methods, the expressions of these seven apoptosis‐associated proteins were studied to clarify their relationship with clinical outcomes of 36 ALK+ and 25 ALK‐ systemic ALCL patients enrolled between 1996 and 2006.The relationship of these apoptosis‐regulating proteins with NPM‐ALK status was also evaluated with the tyrosine inhibitor herbimycin A (HA) in vitro by immunocytochemistry,Western blotting and flow cytometric assays. Results The presence of Hsp90α‐,MDM2‐,Bax‐,Cytochrome C,and Cleaved caspase3‐positive tumor cells was found significantly different in ALK+ and ALK‐ ALCLs ,which was correlated with highly favorable clinical outcome. The Bcl‐2‐ and p53‐positive tumor cells were found in groups of patients with unfavorable prognosis.Inhibition of NPM‐ALK by HA could reactivate the p53 protein and subsequent apoptosis‐related proteins and therefore induced apoptosis in ALK+ ALCL cells. Conclusion Our results suggest that these seven proteins might be involved in apoptosis regulation and associated with clinical outcome of ALK+ systemic ALCLs.We also reveal a dynamic chain relation that NPM‐ALK regulates p53 expression and subsequent apoptosis cascade in ALK+ ALCLs. | LI Hui Ling HUANG Xue Ping ZHOU Xin Hua JI Tian Hai WU Zi Qing WANG Zhi Qiang JIANG Hui Yong LIU Fan Rong ZHAO Tong | 2011 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2011,24,6: | 9
Relationship between Maternal PBMC HBV cccDNA and HBV Serological Markers and its Effect on HBV Intrauterine Transmission显示文摘Objective To investigate the relationship between maternal peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) hepatitis B virus(HBV) covalenty closed circular deoxyribonucleic acid(cccDNA) and other HBV serological markers and its effects on HBV intrauterine transmission. Methods We enrolled 290 newborns and their hepatitis B surface antigen(HBsAg) positive mothers. HBV cccDNA in PBMC and HBV DNA in serum were detected by a real‐time PCR‐TaqM an probe while HBV serological markers were detected with an electrochemiluminescence immunoassay. Results There was a positive correlation between the levels of PBMC HBV cccD NA and serum HBV DNA and HBeA g(r = 0.436 and 0.403, P < 0.001). The detection rate of pattern A [‘HBsA g(+), HBeA g(+), and anti‐HBc(+)’] was significantly higher in the PBMC HBV cccD NA positive group than in the control group(χ^2 = 48.48, P < 0.001). There was a significant association between HBV intrauterine transmission and PBMC HBV cccD NA(χ^2 = 9.28, P = 0.002). In the presence of serum HBV DNA, HBeA g, and PBMC HBV cccD NA, the risk of HBV intrauterine transmission was three times higher(OR = 3.69, 95% CI: 1.30‐10.42) than that observed in their absence. The risk of HBV intrauterine transmission was the greatest(OR = 5.89, 95% CI: 2.35‐14.72) when both PBMC HBV cccD NA and pattern A were present. A Bayesian network model showed that maternal PBMC HBV cccD NA was directly related to HBV intrauterine transmission. Conclusion PBMC HBV cccDNA may be a direct risk factor for HBV intrauterine transmission. Our study suggests that serological markers could be combined with PBMC‐related markers in prenatal testing. | WANG Dan Dan YI Lin Zhu WU Li Na YANG Zhi Qing HAO Hai Yun SHI Xiao Hong WANG Bo FENG Shu Ying FENG Yong Liang WANG Su Ping | 2019 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2019,32,5: | 8

Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear. Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks. Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease, while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes. | MA Yan ZHU Dong Shan CHEN Ren Bo SHI Nan Nan LIU Si Hong FAN Yi Pin WU Gui Hui YANG Pu Ye BAI Jiang Feng CHEN Hong CHEN Li Ying FENG Qiao GUO Tuan Mao HOU Yong HU Gui Fen HU Xiao Mei HU Yun Hong HUANG Jin HUANG Qiu Hua HUANG Shao Zhen JI Liang JIN Hai Hao LEI Xiao LI Chun Yan LI Min Qing LI Qun Tang LI Xian Yong LIU Hong De LIU Jin Ping LIU Zhang MA Yu Ting MAO Ya MO Liu Fen NA Hui WANG Jing Wei SONG Fang Li SUN Sheng WANG Dong Ting WANG Ming Xuan WANG Xiao Yan WANG Yin Zhen WANG Yu Dong WU Wei WU Lan Ping XIAO Yan Hua XIE Hai Jun XU Hong Ming XU Shou Fang XUE Rui Xia YANG Chun YANG Kai Jun YUAN Sheng Li ZHANG Gong Qi ZHANG Jin Bo ZHANG Lin Song ZHAO Shu Sen ZHAO Wan Ying ZHENG Kai ZHOU Ying Chun ZHU Jun Teng ZHU Tian Qing ZHANG Hua Min WANG Yan Ping WANG Yong Yan 无 | 2020 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2020,33,12: | 8

The essential ability of sparse reconstruction of different compressive sensing strategies显示文摘We show the essential ability of sparse signal reconstruction of different compressive sensing strategies, which include the L1 regularization, the L0 regularization(thresholding iteration algorithm and OMP algorithm),the Lq(0 < q ≤ 1) regularizations, the Log regularization and the SCAD regularization.Taking phase diagram as the basic tool for analysis,we find that(i) the solutions of the L0 regularization using hard thresholding algorithm and OMP algorithm are similar to those of the L1 regularization;(ii) the Lq regularization with the decreasing value of q,the Log regularization and the SCAD regularization can attain sparser solutions than the L1 regularization;(iii) the L1/2 regularization can be taken as a representative of the Lq(0 < q < 1) regularizations. When 1/2 < q < 1,the L1/2 regularization always yields the sparsest solutions and when 0 < q < 1/2 the performance of the regularizations takes no significant difference. The results of this paper provide experimental evidence for our previous work. | ZHANG Hai LIANG Yong GOU HaiLiang XU ZongBen | 2012 | Science China(Information Sciences)2012,55,11: | 7

Validity of the Chinese Version of the Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) in Lung Cancer Patients显示文摘The prevalence of malnutrition is high among oncology patients in China. Although the Patient- Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) is widely recognized as an important nutritional assessment tool, it has not been validated for Chinese cancer patients. The purpose of this study was to conduct an analysis of nutrition screening and assessment data to validate the Chinese version of the PG-SGA in Chinese patients with lung cancer. This was an observational, cross-sectional study of 2,000 consecutive adult patients with lung cancer treated at several tertiary hospitals in China. Anthropometric and patient descriptive data were collected. The PG-SGA generated a score for the nutritional risk and a global rating for the nutritional status. The internal consistency, external consistency, and construct validity were evaluated, and a known-groups comparison and principal component analyses were conducted to evaluate the reliability and validity of the PG-SGA. The known-groups comparison demonstrated the ability of the PG-SGA to differentiate lung cancer patients of different nutritional and body mass index (BMI) groups. A confirmatory factor analysis supported the original four-factor structure of the PG-SGA. In terms of the internal and external consistency, the PG-SGA demonstrated intra-class correlation coefficients (ICC) up to 0.987. Alternative form validity was also demonstrated between Box 4 of the PG-SGA and the Karnofsky Performance Status score, with excellent external consistency (r = 0.972, P < 0.001). The construct validity was supported, and selected questionnaire dimensions were evident in the principal component analysis. Significant Spearman correlations (P < 0.001) were demonstrated. The Chinese version of the PG-SGA demonstrated significant reliability and sufficient exploratory properties to support its validity. It seems to be a valid tool that can be used to access the nutritional status of Chinese lung cancer patients. The validity of the PG-SGA in Chinese cancer patients warrants further investigation in other cancer types. | Zhen Ming Fu Hong Xia Xu Chun Hua Song Wei Li Zeng Qing Guo Yuan Lin Ying Ying Shi Wen Hu Yi Ba Su Yi Li Zeng Ning Li Kun Hua Wang Jing Wu Ying He Jia Jun Yang Cong Hua Xie Xin Xia Song Gong Yan Chen Wen Jun Ma Su Xia Luo Zi Hua Chen Ming Hua Cong Hu Ma Chun Ling Zhou Wei Wang Qi Luo Yong Mei Shi Yu Mei Qi Hai Ping Jiang Wen Xian Guan Jun Qiang Chen Jia Xin Chen Yu Fang Lan Zhou Yong Dong Feng Rong Shao Tan Tao Li Jun Wen Ou Qing Chuan Zhao Jian Xiong Wu Chang Wang Han Ping Shi The Investigation on Nutrition Status and Clinical Outcome of Common Cancers (INSCOC) Group | 2016 | Journal of Nutritional Oncology2016,1,1: | 7
