3Finite difference numerical simulation of guided wave propagation in the full grouted rock bolt显示文摘Based on guided wave theory and considering the grouted rock bolt as waveguide medium, we have constructed a three dimensional model of grouted rock bolt with the dynamics of finite difference numerical simulation software FLAC3D4.0, and simulated the propagation behavior of the guided wave in the full grouted rock bolt. The simulated waveform and wave velocity matched well with the experimental results. We have made a more in-depth and comprehensive study of the wave velocity, wave component and attenuation characteristics of the guided wave propagating in rock bolt, and found some new characteristics and phenomena. In addition, some phenomena that haven’t been explained in the previous researches have also been discussed in this paper. The result showed that when guided wave propagates in grouted rock bolt, after the body wave decays, there is still the interface wave-Stoneley wave that does not decay in the axial direction of the bolt. 6Mesoscale Dynamics and Its Application in Torrential Rainfall Systems in China显示文摘Progress over the past decade in understanding moisture-driven dynamics and torrential rain storms in China is reviewed in this paper. First, advances in incorporating moisture effects more realistically into theory are described, including the development of a new parameter, generalized moist potential vorticity(GMPV) and an improved moist ageostrophic Q vector(Qum). Advances in vorticity dynamics are also described, including the adoption of a 'parcel dynamic' approach to investigate the development of the vertical vorticity of an air parcel; a novel theory of slantwise vorticity development, proposed because vorticity develops easily near steep isentropic surfaces; and the development of the convective vorticity vector(CVV)as an effective new tool. The significant progress in both frontal dynamics and wave dynamics is also summarized, including the geostrophic adjustment of initial unbalanced flow and the dual role of boundary layer friction in frontogenesis, as well as the interaction between topography and fronts, which indicate that topographic perturbations alter both frontogenesis and frontal structure. For atmospheric vortices, mixed wave/vortex dynamics has been extended to explain the propagation of spiral rainbands and the development of dynamical instability in tropical cyclones. 7Endothelial PDGF-BB/PDGFR-βsignaling promotes osteoarthritis by enhancing angiogenesis-dependent abnormal subchondral bone formation显示文摘The mechanisms that coordinate the shift from joint homeostasis to osteoarthritis(OA)remain unknown.No pharmacological intervention can currently prevent the progression of osteoarthritis.Accumulating evidence has shown that subchondral bone deterioration is a primary trigger for overlying cartilage degeneration.We previously found that H-type vessels modulate aberrant subchondral bone formation during the pathogenesis of OA.However,the mechanism responsible for the elevation of H-type vessels in OA is still unclear.Here,we found that PDGFR-βexpression,predominantly in the CD31^(hi)Emcn^(hi) endothelium,was substantially elevated in subchondral bones from OA patients and rodent OA models.A mouse model of OA with deletion of PDGFR-βin endothelial cells(ECs)exhibited fewer H-type vessels,ameliorated subchondral bone deterioration and alleviated overlying cartilage degeneration.Endothelial PDGFR-βpromotes angiogenesis through the formation of the PDGFR-β/talin1/FAK complex.Notably,endothelium-specific inhibition of PDGFR-βby local injection of AAV9 in subchondral bone effectively attenuated the pathogenesis of OA compared with that of the vehicle-treated controls.Based on the results from this study,targeting PDGFR-βis a novel and promising approach for the prevention or early treatment of OA.Zhuang Cui Hangtian Wu Ye Xiao Ting Xu Junjie Jia Hancheng Lin Rongmin Lin Kun Chen Yihuang Lin Kaiqun Li Xiaohu Wu Changjun Li Bin Yu 2022Bone Research2022,10,4:4
8Optimizing Building Envelope Dimensions for Passive Solar Houses in the Qinghai-Tibetan Region: Window to Wall Ratio and Depth of Sunspace显示文摘It has been a focus to reduce the energy consumption and improve the space heating performance of high-altitude buildings in winter seasons. In view of the abundant solar energy resources of the high-altitude region, the establishment of passive solar houses should be an effective strategy to deal with the problem of thermal comfort. Both window to wall ratio(WWR) and sunspace depth are of vital importance to determine the thermal comfort level of passive solar houses, while there are limited studies on analyzing their impacts on passive solar houses in high-altitude regions. Therefore, this study is designed to examine how WWR and sunspace depth affect space heating of passive solar houses in the Qinghai-Tibetan region. To be specific, the hourly radiation temperature variations and percentages of dissatisfaction of the residential building with different sunspace depth/WWR(including 0.9 m/33%, 0.9 m/45%, 0.9 m/60%, 1.2 m/33% and 1.5 m/33%) were quantitatively examined. Results indicated that under the condition of 0.9 m/45%, the overall average radiation temperature of the building was approximately 16°C during the entire heating season, which could better satisfy the heating requirements. Meanwhile, the average temperature was higher, and the thermal comfort level was better under the ratio of 45% or the depth of 1.5 m, when only an individual factor in either ratio or depth was considered. 9Effect of climate change and railway embankment on the degradation of underlain permafrost显示文摘Because of the global warming and the increasing human activity, the air temperature and the precipitation along the Qinghai-Tibet Railway increased gradually in recent years, which endanger the permafrost table, the embankment of the railway. The statistics of the air temperature, the precipitation and the geothermal temperature in recent 50 years in this dissertation come from the four weather station along the railway, that are Wudaoliang Station, Fenghuo Mountains Station, Tuotuo River Station and Ando Station. This dissertation analyzes the change of climate along the railway and then develops a research on the effect of the changing geothermal temperature on permafrost table and its countermeasures. The experiment result shows that the air temperature of the permafrost region rise steadily in about 50 years, especially in this century, the tendency of rising temperature is more obvious. The precipitation fluctuates but it is also rising rapidly, for the largest precipitation reached 492.6 mm. For 30 years now, the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau has been in the megathermal period, which also affects the permafrost region along the railway. 10An improved approach for the application of Trombe wall system to building construction with selective thermo-insulation faades显示文摘An improved Trombe wall is proposed to adapt to building construction with selective thermo-insula-tion faades (internal and cavity wall insulation, but not external wall insulation system). The case study is conducted in Xining, Capital city of Qinghai province in China, where the general building faades are mostly selective thermo-insulation faades to fight against the severe cold. A numerical analysis is undertaken to show the effects on the improvement of the building's thermal environment by comparing the improved Trombe wall system with the classical Trombe wall system. The operating efficiency of the improved Trombe wall can be up to 33.85%, an increase of 56%. 11Tectonics-palaeogeomorphology in rift basins: controlling effect on the sequence architecture显示文摘The relationship between deposition and tectonics of sedimentary basins has been a significant subject in recent years.Using typical rift basins such as the Nanpu Sag as an example,combined with the analysis of the tectonics-palaeogeomorphology of basins,we undertook a detailed study of the differences of the third-order sequences in different basins,the combination of depositional systems within the sequence framework and the distribution of depocenters and subsidence centers.Our results revealed a significant relationship between the tectonics-palaeogeomorphology of rift basins and the filling styles of sedimentary sequences.The basin structure plays a primary role in controlling the development of the third-order sequences and the boundary of these sequences is easily formed in basins with gentle slopes,shallow water and a small area.The characteristics of the tectonics-palaeogeomorphology of rift basins are dominated by half-grabens of extensional faults,which affect the temporal and spatial combination of sedimentary systems within the sequences as well as the distribution of depocenters and subsidence centers.Based on the development rules of the faults dominating the half-grabens of extensional faults,rift basins are classified into two types: the single fault segmented-linkage type and the multi-fault combination type.The main controlling factors of the temporal and spatial combination of sedimentary systems and the distribution of depocenters and subsidence centers in different basins are different.The characteristics of early segmentation and later linkage of the faults play a critical role in controlling the sedimentary system combination within the sequence framework and the temporal and spatial differences of depocenters and subsidence centers of the single fault segmented-linkage rift basins,while the differences in fault activities are the dominating factors of the multi-fault combination rift basins.Ji Hancheng Jia Haibo Sun Simin Chen Liang Tang Yang Chen Wei Geng Yikai Zhou Hang 2013Petroleum Science2013,10,4:3
12Optimisation of the double skin facade in hot and humid climates through altering the design parameter combinations显示文摘Architects welcome double skin facade(DSF)due to its aesthetic quality.The first DSF structure was intended to prevent cold weather and strong winds.Nowadays,the application of DSF under different climates has been investigated in many previous studies.Fiowever,little work had been done on the behaviour of DSF in hot and humid climates.Therefore,this paper aimed to extend the application into this specific climate and Guangzhou was selected as the sample city.Both the climate and the design influence the performance of DSF.In this paper,rather than explore how each design parameter influences the performance,the design was evaluated from an overall aspect.The Designbuilder software was used to build the single skin facade(SSF)and double skin facade base model.Annual HVAC energy consumption for both the two models was calculated and compared.An optimisation process was conducted to figure out what kinds of parameter combination could make the design more energy-saving and thermally comfortable.The results indicated that it was possible to design an energy-saving DSF system applied in hot and humid climates compared with the SSF model.The efficiency of the DSF could be further enhanced with a better parameter combination.The optimised options had some features in common,which could provide some inspirations for the application of DSF in hot and humid climates.Meng Wang Jingxin Hou Zhongting Hu Wei He Hancheng Yu 2021Building Simulation2021,14,3:3
13High-performance distributed feedback quantum dot lasers with laterally coupled dielectric gratings显示文摘The combination of grating-based frequency-selective optical feedback mechanisms,such as distributed feedback(DFB)or distributed Bragg reflector(DBR)structures,with quantum dot(QD)gain materials is a main approach towards ultrahigh-performance semiconductor lasers for many key novel applications,as either stand-alone sources or on-chip sources in photonic integrated circuits.However,the fabrication of conventional buried Bragg grating structures on GaAs,GaAs/Si,GaSb,and other material platforms has been met with major material regrowth difficulties.We report a novel and universal approach of introducing laterally coupled dielectric Bragg gratings to semiconductor lasers that allows highly controllable,reliable,and strong coupling between the grating and the optical mode.We implement such a grating structure in a low-loss amorphous silicon material alongside GaAs lasers with InAs/GaAs QD gain layers.The resulting DFB laser arrays emit at pre-designed 0.8 THz local area network wavelength division multiplexing frequency intervals in the 1300 nm band with record performance parameters,including sidemode suppression ratios as high as 52.7 dB,continuous-wave output power of 26.6 mW(room temperature)and 6 mW(at 55℃),and ultralow relative intensity noise(RIN)of<-165 dB/Hz(2.5-20 GHz).The devices are also capable of isolator-free operating under very high external reflection levels of up to-12.3 dB while maintaining high spectral purity and ultralow RIN qualities.These results validate the novel laterally coupled dielectric grating as a technologically superior and potentially cost-effective approach for fabricating DFB and DBR lasers free of their semiconductor material constraints,which are thus universally applicable across different material platforms and wavelength bands.ZHUOHUI YANG ZHENGQING DING LIN LIU HANCHENG ZHONG SHENG CAO XINZHONG ZHANG SHIZHE LIN XIAOYING HUANG HUADI DENG YING YU SIYUAN YU 2022Photonics Research2022,10,5:3

16Estimation of the age of human semen stains by attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy:a preliminary study显示文摘Semen stain is one of the most important biological evidence at sexual crime scenes.Age estimation of human semen stains plays an important role in forensic work,and it is rarely studied due to lack of well-established methods.In this study,the technique called attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(ATR-FTIR)coupled with advanced chemometric methods was employed to determine the age of semen stains on three different substrates:glass slides,tissues and fabric made of regenerated cellulose fibres up to 6 d.Partial least squares regression(PLSR)was used in conjunction with spectral analysis for age estimation,and the results generated high R2 values(cross-validation:0.81,external validation:0.74)but a narrow margin of error for root mean square error(RMSE)(RMSE of cross-validation:0.77 d,RMSE of prediction:1.02 d).Additionally,our results indicated the robustness of PLSR model was not weaken by the influence of different substrates in this study.Our results indicate that ATR-FTIR,combined with chemometric methods,shows great potential as a convenient and efficient tool for age estimation of semen stains.Moreover,the method could be applied to routine forensic investigations in the future.Shuai Zha Xin Wei Ruoxi Fang Qi Wang Hancheng Lin Kai Zhang Haohui Zhang Ruina Liu Zhouru Li Ping Huang Zhenyuan Wang 2020Forensic Sciences Research2020,5,2:2
17Sequence stratigraphy and depositional systems in the Paleogene,Liaodong Bay显示文摘Based on drilling and seismic data,the Paleogene developed in Liaodong Bay can be divided into five third-order sequences bounded by six sequence boundaries.Through analyzing depositional systems in each sequence in detail,the Es-3 time was defined as fast rifting.During the deposition of the Es-3 member,the lake basin was continuous along the N-S direction but compartmentalized along the E-W direction by several N-S trending faults.Deposition was dominated by steep slope fans and fan deltas.The time of Es-2 and Es-1 was stable settling.The lake basin expanded substantially.The fan delta system and braided fluvial system were developed.Carbonate and clastic deposits were formed on the Liaoxi(west Liaohe)Rise.The time of Ed-3 time was again fast rifting.During this time,shale was deposited.In the time of Es-2,tectonic movement weakened.The basin was higher in the west and north,and lower in the east and south.A series of delta depositional systems were developed and small- scale slumping turbidite fans were present in semi-deep lake to deep lake.In the time of Ed-1,tectonic movement stopped.Flood plain deposition occurred.Finally the paper presents the characteristics of evolution and distribution of depositional systems both vertically and horizontally.Ji Hancheng 2008Petroleum Science2008,5,2:2
18A system for automated monitoring of embankment deformation along the Qinghai-Tibet Railway in permafrost regions显示文摘At present, the monitoring of embankment deformation in permafrost regions along the Qinghai-Tibet Railway is mainly done manually. However, the harsh climate on the plateau affects the results greatly by lowering the observation frequency, so the manual monitoring can barely meet the observational demand. This research develops a system of automated monitoring of embankment deformation, and aims to address the problems caused by the plateau climate and the permafrost conditions in the region. The equipment consists of a monitoring module, a data collection module, a transmission module, and a data processing module. The field experiments during this program indicate that(1) the combined automated monitoring device overcame the problems associated with the complicated and tough plateau environment by means of wireless transmission and automatic analysis of the embankment settlement data;(2) the calibration of the combined settlement gauge at-20 °C was highly accurate, with an error rate always <0.5%;(3) the gauge calibration at high-temperature conditions was also highly accurate, with an error rate <0.5% even though the surface of the instrument reached more than 50 °C; and(4) compared with the data manually taken, the data automatically acquired during field monitoring experiments demonstrated that the combined settlement gauge and the automated monitoring system could meet the requirements of the monitoring mission in permafrost regions along the Qinghai-Tibet Railway.YongPeng Yang YaoHui Qu HanCheng Cai JiaCheng CaiMei Tang 2015Research in Cold and Arid Regions2015,7,5:2
