1Visualization Experiments of a Specific Fuel Flow Through Quartz-glass Tubes Under both Sub- and Supercritical Conditions显示文摘The present work is a visualization study of a typical kerosene (RP-3) flowing through vertical and horizontal quartz-glass tubes under both suband supercritical conditions by a high speed camera. The experiments are accomplished at temperatures of 300-730 K under pressures from 0.107-5 MPa. Six distinctive two-phase flow patterns are observed in upward flow and the critical point of RP-3 is identified as critical pressure pc=2.33 MPa and critical temperature Tc=645.04 K and it is found that when the fluid pressure exceeds 2.33 MPa the flow can be considered as a single phase flow. The critical opalescence phenomenon of RP-3 is observed when the temperature is between 643.16 K and 648.61 K and the pressure is between 2.308 MPa and 2.366 MPa. The region filled by the critical opalescence in the upward flow is clearly larger than that in the downward flow due to the interaction between the buoyancy force and fluid inertia. 2Changes of plasma C-reactive protein in patients with craniocerebral injury before and after hyperbaric oxygenation: A randomly controlled study显示文摘BACKGROUND: Plasma inflammatory factor, such as C-reactive protein, whose content is regarded as a sensitively pathological marked protein and quantitative indexes of central nervous system injury, has been paid more and more attention in clinic. OBJECTIVE: To observe the effects and clinical significance of C-reactive protein in patients with craniocerebral injury after hyperbaric oxygenation. DESIGN: Randomized controlled study. SETTING: Departments of Neurosurgery, Laboratory and Hyperbaric Oxygen, the Second Affiliated Hospital, Medical College of Shantou University. PARTICIPANTS: A total of 60 patients with craniocerebral injury were selected from Department of Neurosurgery, the Second Affiliated Hospital, Medical College of Shantou University from October 2006 to April 2007. There were 37 males and 23 females and the mean age was 26 years. All subjects were certainly diagnosed as history of craniocerebral injury. Patients hospitalized at 24 hours after injury, Glasgow Coma Score ranged from 3 to 12 points, and all patients were certainly diagnosed with CT or MR scanning. Patients and their relatives provided confirmed consent. All the subjects were randomly divided into hyperbaric oxygenation group and control group with 30 in each group. METHODS: Patients in the control group were treated with routinely neurosurgical therapy after hospitalization; however, based the same basic treatment in the control group, patients in the hyperbaric oxygenation group received hyperbaric oxygenation by using iced-wheel four-door 2-cabin air-compression chamber (made in Yantai) from 24 hours to 10 days after operation or injury. After entering the cabin, patients who had a clear consciousness breathed the oxygen by using face mask; contrarily, patients directly breathed the oxygen. Therapeutic project: Expression was increased for about 15–20 minutes, maintained for about 70–80 minutes, and decreased for 20 minutes. Otherwise, pressure was maintained from 0.2 to 0.25 MPa. Hyperbaric oxygenation took an hour for once a day and 10 times were regarded as a course. Venous blood was collected before treatment and on the next day of the first course end. Content of C-reactive protein in plasma was measured with immune turbidimetry in hyperbaric oxygenation group; in addition, content of C-reactive protein in plasma was directly measured with the same method at the corresponding time in the control group. If the content was less or equal to 8 mg/L, it was regarded as normal value. Effects of the two groups were evaluated based on Glasgow Coma Score before and after treatment. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Content of plasma C-reactive protein and Glasgow Coma Score in the two groups before and after treatment. RESULTS: All 60 patients were involved in the final analysis. ① Content of plasma C-reactive protein: The two contents were obviously higher than normal value after craniocerebral injury. There was no significant difference in the two groups before treatment (P > 0.05), but both contents were decreased after treatment, and there was significant difference between HBOT group and control group after treatment (t =4.756, P < 0.01). In addition, there was significant difference in hyperbaric oxygen therapy group before and after treatment (t =5.236, P < 0.01). ② Glasgow Coma Score: There was no significant difference in the two groups before treatment (P > 0.05), but scores were increased in both groups after treatment (t =9.92, 2.51, P < 0.01, 0.05); on the other hand, therefore, there was significant difference between the two groupsafter treatment (t =9.21, P < 0.01). 3Fine-grained and heterogeneous proxy re-encryption for secure cloud storage显示文摘Cloud is an emerging computing paradigm.It has drawn extensive attention from both academia and industry.But its security issues have been considered as a critical obstacle in its rapid development.When data owners store their data as plaintext in cloud,they lose the security of their cloud data due to the arbitrary accessibility,specially accessed by the un-trusted cloud.In order to protect the confidentiality of data owners’cloud data,a promising idea is to encrypt data by data owners before storing them in cloud.However,the straightforward employment of the traditional encryption algorithms can not solve the problem well,since it is hard for data owners to manage their private keys,if they want to securely share their cloud data with others in a fine-grained manner.In this paper,we propose a fine-grained and heterogeneous proxy re-encryption(FHPRE)system to protect the confidentiality of data owners’cloud data.By applying the FH-PRE system in cloud,data owners’cloud data can be securely stored in cloud and shared in a fine-grained manner.Moreover,the heterogeneity support makes our FH-PRE system more efficient than the previous work.Additionally,it provides the secure data sharing between two heterogeneous cloud systems,which are equipped with different cryptographic primitives.Peng Xu Hongwu Chen Deqing Zou Hai Jin 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,32:9
4Biodegradation of nicosulfuron by a novel Alcaligenes faecalis strain ZWS11显示文摘A bacterial strain ZWS11 was isolated from sulfonylurea herbicide-contaminated farmland soil and identified as a potential nicosulfuron-degrading bacterium. Based on morphological and physicochemical characterization of the bacterium and phylogenetic analysis of the 16 S r RNA sequence, strain ZWS11 was identified as Alcaligenes faecalis. The effects of the initial concentration of nicosulfuron, inoculation volume, and medium p H on degradation of nicosulfuron were investigated. Strain ZWS11 could degrade 80.56% of the initial nicosulfuron supplemented at 500.0 mg/L under the conditions of p H 7.0, 180 r/min and30°C after incubation for 6 days. Strain ZWS11 was also capable of degrading rimsulfuron,tribenuron-methyl and thifensulfuron-methyl. Four metabolites from biodegradation of nicosulfuron were identified, which were 2-aminosulfonyl-N, N-dimethylnicotinamide(M1), 4, 6-dihydroxypyrimidine(M2), 2-amino-4, 6-dimethoxypyrimidine(M3) and2-(1-(4,6-dimethoxy-pyrimidin-2-yl)-ureido)-N,N-dimethyl-nicotinamide(M4). Among the metabolites detected, M2 was reported for the first time. Possible biodegradation pathways of nicosulfuron by strain ZWS11 were proposed. The degradation proceeded mainly via cleavage of the sulfonylurea bridge, O-dealkylation, and contraction of the sulfonylurea bridge by elimination of a sulfur dioxide group. 5Factors affecting genomic selection revealed by empirical evidence in maize显示文摘Genomic selection(GS) as a promising molecular breeding strategy has been widely implemented and evaluated for plant breeding, because it has remarkable superiority in enhancing genetic gain, reducing breeding time and expenditure, and accelerating the breeding process. In this study the factors affecting prediction accuracy(rMG) in GS were evaluated systematically, using six agronomic traits(plant height, ear height, ear length, ear diameter,grain yield per plant and hundred-kernel weight) evaluated in one natural and two biparental populations. The factors examined included marker density, population size, heritability,statistical model, population relationships and the ratio of population size between the training and testing sets, the last being revealed by resampling individuals in different proportions from a population. Prediction accuracy continuously increased as marker density and population size increased and was positively correlated with heritability; rMGshowed a slight gain when the training set increased to three times as large as the testing set. Low predictive performance between unrelated populations could be attributed to different allele frequencies, and predictive ability and prediction accuracy could be improved by including more related lines in the training population. Among the seven statistical models examined, including ridge regression best linear unbiased prediction(RR-BLUP), genomic BLUP(GBLUP), Bayes A, Bayes B, Bayes C, Bayesian least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(Bayesian LASSO), and reproducing kernel Hilbert space(RKHS), the RKHS and additive-dominance model(Add + Dom model) showed credible ability for capturing non-additive effects, particularly for complex traits with low heritability. 6Image formation of brain function in patients suffering from knee osteoarthritis treated with moxibustion显示文摘OBJECTIVES:Functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI) technology was used to study changes to the resting state blood flow in the brains of patients with knee osteoarthritis(KOA) before and after treatment with moxibustion at the acupoint of the left Dubi(ST 35) and to probe the cerebral mechanism underlying the effect of moxibustion.METHODS:The resting state brain function of 30 patients with left KOA was scanned with fMRI before and after treatment with moxibustion.The analytic methods of fractional amplitude of low frequency fluctuation(fALFF) and regional homogeneity(ReHo) were used to observe changes in resting state brain function.RESULTS:The fALFF values of the right cerebrum,extra-nucleus,left cerebellum,left cerebrum and white matter of patients after moxibustion treatment were higher than before treatment,and the fALFF values of the precentral gyrus,frontal lobe and occipital lobe were lower than before treatment(P<0.05,K≥85).The ReHo values of the thalamus,extra-nucleus and parietal lobe of patients were much higher than those before moxibustion treatment,and the ReHo values of the right cerebrum,left cerebrum and frontal lobe were lower than before treatment(P<0.05,K≥85).CONCLUSION:The influence of moxibustion on obvious changes in brain regions basically conforms to the way that pain and warmth is transmitted in the body,and the activation of sensitive systems in the body may be objective evidence of channel transmission.The regulation of brain function by moxibustion is not in a single brain region but rather in a network of many brain regions.Hongwu Xie Fangming Xu Rixin Chen Tianyou Luo Mingren Chen Weidong Fang Fajin Lü Fei Wu Yune Song Jun Xiong 2013Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2013,33,2:7
7Investigation of flow resistance characteristics of endothermic hydrocarbon fuel under supercritical pressures显示文摘The characteristics of flow resistance of a typical hydrocarbon fuel(RP-3)flowthrough adiabatic horizontal miniature tubes at supercritical pressures are experimentallyinvestigated for both laminar and turbulent flow.The experiments are conducted by using along tube measuring section and a short tube measuring section simultaneously in order toeliminate the effect of local pressure drop.In these experiments,the temperature of RP-3changes from(295 to 789)K and the reduced pressure(P/Pc,Pc=2.33 MPa)ranges from 1 to2.58,the mass flux is up to 1572.7 kg/(m^(2).s).Test results indicate that frictional pressuredrops for various supercritical pressures at the same mass flux can be considered as equalwith each other when the reduced temperature Tb/Tpc<0.95.When Tb/Tpc>0.95,differenceappears and increases with the increase of Tb/Tpc.Additionally,the friction factor(f)of thesupercritical fluid for turbulent flow has a critical value at Tb/Tpc=1,the values of f at thispoint for all pressures and mass fluxes are equal with each other.Moreover,at the same massflux,there are two comresponding friction factors for the same Re,one is in the region of Tb/Tpc<1,the other is in the region of Tb/Tpc> 1.Finally, classical conelations of frictionfactor is inapplicable when Tb/Tpc>0.95 at supercritical pressure and a new coelation hasbeen obtained based on the experimental data.Chunben Zhang Guoqiang Xu Hongwu Deng Kun Zhu 2013Propulsion and Power Research2013,2,2:6
8Buoyancy effect on heat transfer in rotating smooth square U-duct at high rotation number显示文摘The buoyancy effect on heat transfer in a rotating,two-pass,square channel is experimentally investigated in curent work.The classical copper plate technique is performed to measure the regional averaged heat transfer cofficients.In order to perform a fundamental research,all turbulators are removed away.Two approaches of altering Buoyancy numbers are selected:varying rotation number from 0 to 2.08 at Reynolds number ranges of 10000 to 70000,and varying inlet density ratio from 0.07 to 0.16 at Reynolds number of 10000.And thus,Buoyancy numbers range from 0 to 12.9 for both cases.According to the experimental results,the relationships between heat transfer and Buoyancy numbers are in accord with those obtained under different rotation numbers.For both leading and trailing surface,a critical Buoyancy number exists for each X/D location.Before the critical point,the effect of Buoyancy number on heat transfer is limited;but after that,the Nusselt number ratios show different increase rate.Given the same rotation number,higher wall temperature ratios with its corresponding higher Buoyancy numbers substantially enhance heat transfer on both passages.And the critical exceed-point that heat transfer from trailing surface higher than leading surface happens at the same Buoyancy number for different wall temperature ratios in the second passage.Thus,the stronger buoyancy effect promotes heat transfer enhancement at high rotation number condition.Yang Li Guoqiang Xu Hongwu Deng Shuqing Tian 2014Propulsion and Power Research2014,3,3:6
9TWO-DIMENSIONAL SEDIMENT MATHEMATICAL MODEL FORUNSTEADY FLOW IN THE LOWER YELLOW RIVER显示文摘The theoretical frame of a new two-dimensional sediment mathematical model is established on the basis of the resent research achievements about the sediment transport law of the Yellow River. The formulas of sediment carrying capacity of flow and river roughness, which reflect the features of the Yellow River, are applied to it. The finite element scheme is employed to deduce the discretized equations of the model. The pre-estimated-verified substitution is used to solve them. Verifications of the model are carried out with the flood occurring on Jinan reach of the Yellow River during the flood season in 1976. 10Effect of burden and origin sites of premature ventricular contractions on left ventricular function by 7-day Holter monitor显示文摘Recent studies have shown that premature ventricular contractions(PVCs) could enlarge the heart,but its risk factors are incompletely understood as a single 24-hour recording cannot reflect the true PVC burden due to day-to-day variability.Our purpose was to investigate the effect of burden and origin sites on left ventricular(LV) function in patients with PVCs by 7-day Holter electrocardiography(ECG).From May 2012 to August2013,112 consecutive patients with PVCs were recruited from the authors' affiliated hospital.All patients received2-dimensional transthoracic echocardiography,12-lead routing ECG and 7-days Holter ECG.Serum N-terminal probrain natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP) levels were measured.A total of 102 participants with PVCs were included in the final analysis.Origin of PVCs from the tricuspid annulus had the highest burden and NT-proBNP level.LV papillary muscle had a higher LV ejection fraction(EF) level and a lower LV end-systolic dimension(ESD) than other PVC foci(P<0.05).The high burden group had a higher LV end-diastolic dimension(EDD) and LVESD but lower LVEF than the other two groups(P<0.05).Female,older age,physical work,and history of PVCs had a significantly positive correlation with symptoms.Male,older age,physical work,and high burden were positive predictors of enlarged LVEDD,LVESD and higher serum NT-proBNP level,but lower LVEF.Seven-day dynamic ECG Holter monitor showed the true PVC burden on patients with PVCs.PVCs with a lower burden or origin from the LV papillary muscle and the fascicle were relatively benign,while PVCs with a higher burden or origin from the tricuspid annulus may lead to cardiac dysfunction.Wenhua Xu Mingfang Li Minglong Chen Bing Yang Daowu Wang Xiangqing Kong Hongwu Chen Weizhu Ju Kai Gu Kejiang Cao Hailei Liu Qi Jiang Jiaojiao Shi Yan Cui Hong Wang 2015The Journal of Biomedical Research2015,29,6:4

13Numerical Investigation of a High-subsonic Axial-flow Compressor Rotor with Non-axisymmetric Hub Endwall显示文摘The major source of loss in modern compressors is the secondary loss.Non-axisymmetric endwall profile contouring is now a well established design methodology in axial flow turbines.However,flow development in axial compressors is differ from turbines,the effects of non-axisymmetric endwall to axial compressors requires flow analysis in detail.This paper presents both experimental and numerical data to deal with the application of a non-axisymmetric hub endwall in a high-subsonic axial-flow compressor.The aims of the experiment here were to make sure the numerically obtained flow fields is the physical mechanism responsible for the improvement in efficiency,due to the non-axisymmetric hub endwall.The computational results were first compared with available measured data of axisymmetric hub endwall.The results agreed well with the experimental data for estimation of the global performance.The coupled flow of the compressor rotor with non-axisymmetric hub endwall was simulated by a state-of-the-art multi-block flow solver.The non-axisymmetric hub endwall was designed for a subsonic compressor rotor with the help of sine and cosine functions.This type of non-axisymmetric hub endwall was found to have a significant improvement in efficiency of 0.45% approximately and a slightly increase for the total pressure ratio.The fundamental mechanisms of non-axisymmetric hub endwall and their effects on the subsonic axial-flow compressor endwall flow field were analyzed in detail.It is concluded that the non-axisymmetric endwall profiling,though not optimum,can mitigate the secondary flow in the vicinity of the hub endwall,resulting in the improvement of aerodynamic performance of the compressor rotor.Shuzhen Hu Xingen Lu Hongwu Zhang Junqiang Zhu Qiang Xu 2010Journal of Thermal Science2010,19,1:4
14Enhancing Genetic Gain through Genomic Selection: From Livestock to Plants显示文摘Although long-term genetic gain has been achieved through increasing use of modern breeding methods and technologies,the rate of genetic gain needs to be accelerated to meet humanity’s demand for agricultural products.In this regard,genomic selection(GS)has been considered most promising for genetic improvement of the complex traits controlled by many genes each with minor effects.Livestock scientists pioneered GS application largely due to livestock’s significantly higher individual values and the greater reduction in generation interval that can be achieved in GS.Large-scale application of GS in plants can be achieved by refining field management to improve heritability estimation and prediction accuracy and developing optimum GS models with the consideration of genotype-by-environment interaction and non-additive effects,along with significant cost reduction.Moreover,it would be more effective to integrate GS with other breeding tools and platforms for accelerating the breeding process and thereby further enhancing genetic gain.In addition,establishing an open-source breeding network and developing transdisciplinary approaches would be essential in enhancing breeding efficiency for small-and medium-sized enterprises and agricultural research systems in developing countries.New strategies centered on GS for enhancing genetic gain need to be developed.Yunbi Xu Xiaogang Liu Junjie Fu Hongwu Wang Jiankang Wang Changling Huang Boddupalli MPrasanna Michael SOlsen Guoying Wang Aimin Zhang 2020Plant Communications2020,1,1:4
15Geometry Effects on Aerodynamics Performance of a Low Aspect Ratio Turbine Nozzle显示文摘This paper describes the influence of some geometric parameters on aerodynamics performance of a low-aspect-ratio turbine blading designed by a novel method developed at the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. This is a part of the study on aerodynamics optimization of turbomachinery. It follows the development of the basic ideas in the turbomachinery aerodynamics research project at the institute. The present paper concentrates mainly on the effects of geometry, such as stagger angle, leading and trailing edge thickness, maximum thickness and its location on adiabatic efficiency, total pressure ratio and mass flow rate. The study was performed and assessed for a low-aspect ratio turbine nozzle using 3D steady Reynolds-averaged N.S. solver. 17Swimming behavior of juvenile silver carp near the separation zone of a channel confluence显示文摘Knowledge of locomotion of fish near river confluences is important for prediction of fish distribution in a river network.The flow separation zone near the confluence of a river network is a favorite habitat and feeding place for silver carp,which is one of the four major species of Chinese carp and usually provides positive rheotaxis to water flow.In the current study,a series of laboratory experiments were done to determine the behavioral responses of juvenile silver carp to the hydrodynamic forces near the separation zone of a channel confluence.The locomotion and trajectory of juvenile silver carp were recorded by infrared thermal imaging,while the flow velocity field near the separation zone was measured by a Particle Image Velocimetry(PIV)system.A total of 60 juvenile silver carp were released near the separation zone among which 40 carp swam in the upstream direction.Amongst them,24 carp swam to the tributary and the remaining 16 swam into the main channel.Almost all these 24 carp travelled initially along the boundary of the separation zone near the corner,where flow shear was strongest,and then swam to the tributary.Instead of avoiding zones of strong vorticity,they chose and followed a trajectory along which the flow vorticity was large.On encountering these vortical flows,they increased the tailbeat frequency and decreased the tail-beat amplitude to maintain body stability.These observations provide important knowledge on locomotion of fish near river confluences and are beneficial for the fish habitat protection.Saiyu Yuan Lei Xu Hongwu Tang Yang Xiao Colin Whittaker 2022International Journal of Sediment Research2022,37,1:2
