Epidemiological Data of Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders—China,2018–2020显示文摘Summary What is already known about this topic? In recent decades,work-related musculoskeletal disorders(WMSDs)have become increasingly prominent and have become an important issue that is of universal concern and an urgent need to be solved in all countries of the world. What is added by this report? The top three industries or occupational groups with the highest standardized prevalence rate of WMSDs were flight attendants, medical staff, and vegetable greenhouses in that order.Women workers were 1.5 times more likely to suffer from WMSDs than men workers. | Ning Jia Huadong Zhang Ruijie Ling Yimin Liu Gang Li Zaoliang Ren Yan Yin Hua Shao Hengdong Zhang Bing Qiu Meibian Zhang Dayu Wang Qiang Zeng Rugang Wang Jianchao Chen Danying Zhang Liangying Mei Yongquan Liu Jixiang Liu Chengyun Zhang Tianlai Li Qing Xu Ying Qu Xueyan Zhang Xin Sun Zhongxu Wang | 2021 | China CDC weekly2021,3,18: | 13
Relationships between vegetation and stomata, and between vegetation and pollen surface soil in Yunnan,Southwest China显示文摘Surface pollen and stomata of 61 samples collected in a study area ranging from tropical seasonal rainforest to oak forest(Quercus spinosa) in the Yulong Snow Mountain region in Yunnan,China, are used to distinguish vegetation communities. The results show that tropical seasonal rainforest(and mountain rainforest),south subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest, and Quercus shrub are distinguished effectively from other vegetation types by analysis of surface pollen. The south subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest,Pinus kesiya forest and evergreen broadleaf forest are distinguished effectively from other types of vegetation by pollen analysis.However,P.yunnanensis forest is not distinguished from other vegetation types, and P.armandii,P.densata forest and temperate deciduous conifer mixed forest are not distinguished. The over-representation of Pinus pollen is the main reason that these vegetation communities are not distinguished from each other.Conifer stomata analysis is an effective tool for identifying and distinguishing different types of coniferous forest, and this method performs well even with a small number of sampling points. | SHEN HuaDong LI ChunHai WAN HeWen TONG GuoBang LIU JinSong DAN Johnson | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,15: | 12
Big Earth Data science:an information framework for a sustainable planet显示文摘The digital transformation of our society coupled with the increasing exploitation of natural resources makes sustainability challenges more complex and dynamic than ever before. These changes will unlikely stop or even decelerate in the near future. There is an urgent need for a new scientific approach and an advanced form of evidence-based decisionmaking towards the benefit of society, the economy, and the environment. To understand the impacts and interrelationships between humans as a society and natural Earth system processes,we propose a new engineering discipline,Big Earth Data science. This science is called to provide the methodologies and tools to generate knowledge from diverse, numerous, and complex data sources necessary to ensure a sustainable human society essential for the preservation of planet Earth.Big Earth Data science aims at utilizing data from Earth observation and social sensing and develop theories for understanding the mechanisms of how such a social-physical system operates and evolves. The manuscript introduces the universe of discourse characterizing this new science, its foundational paradigms and methodologies, and a possible technological framework to be implemented by applying an ecosystem approach.CASEarth and GEOSS are presented as examples of international implementation attempts. Conclusions discuss important challenges and collaboration opportunities. | Huadong Guo Stefano Nativi Dong Liang Max Craglia Lizhe Wang Sven Schade Christina Corban Guojin He Martino Pesaresi Jianhui Li Zeeshan Shirazi Jie Liu Alessandro Annoni | 2020 | International Journal of Digital Earth2020,13,7: | 12
Hes1 Knockdown Exacerbates Ischemic Stroke Following tMCAO by Increasing ER Stress-Dependent Apoptosis via the PERK/ eIF2a/ATF4/CHOP Signaling Pathway显示文摘Apoptosis induced by endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress plays a crucial role in mediating brain damage after ischemic stroke.Recently,Hes1(hairy and enhancer of split 1)has been implicated in the regulation of ER stress, but whether it plays a functional role after ischemic stroke and the underlying mechanism remain unclear. In this study, using a mouse model of ischemic stroke via transient middle cerebral artery occlusion(tMCAO),we found that Hes1 was induced following brain injury, and that siRNA-mediated knockdown of Hes1 increased the cerebral infarction and worsened the neurological outcome, suggesting that Hes1 knockdown exacerbates ischemic stroke. In addition,mechanistically,Hes1 knockdown promoted apoptosis and activated the PERK/eIF2a/ATF4/CHOP signaling pathway after tMCAO.These results suggest that Hes1 knockdown promotes ER stress-induced apoptosis.Furthermore, inhibition of PERK with the specific inhibitor GSK2606414 markedly attenuated the Hes1 knockdown-induced apoptosis and the increased cerebral infarction as well as the worsened neurological outcome following tMCAO,implying that the protection of Hes1 against ischemic stroke is associated with the amelioration of ER stress via modulating the PERK/eIF2a/ATF4/CHOP signaling pathway.Taken together, these results unveil the detrimental role of Hes1 knockdown after ischemic stroke and further relate it to the regulation of ER stress-induced apoptosis, thus highlighting the importance of targeting ER stress in the treatment of ischemic stroke. | Yueyong Li Yingjun Zhang Huangde Fu Huadong Huang Qifeng Lu Houji Qin Yingning Wu Huatuo Huang Guizhen Mao Zhongheng Wei Pinhu Liao | 2020 | Neuroscience Bulletin2020,36,2: | 12
A property-oriented design strategy for high performance copper alloys via machine learning显示文摘Traditional strategies for designing new materials with targeted property including methods such as trial and error, and experiences of domain experts, are time and cost consuming. In the present study,we propose a machine learning design system involving three features of machine learning modeling, compositional design and property prediction, which can accelerate the discovery of new materials. We demonstrate better efficiency of on a rapid compositional design of high-performance copper alloys with a targeted ultimate tensile strength of 600–950 MPa and an electrical conductivity of 50.0%international annealed copper standard. There exists a good consistency between the predicted and measured values for three alloys from literatures and two newly made alloys with designed compositions. Our results provide a new recipe to realize the property-oriented compositional design for highperformance complex alloys via machine learning. | Changsheng Wang Huadong Fu Lei Jiang Dezhen Xue Jianxin Xie | 2019 | npj Computational Materials2019,,1: | 12
Big data drives the development of Earth science显示文摘Big data is now a popular topic, becoming increasingly well known around the world, and yet the concept of big data and its implications are still novel. To discuss big data,it is appropriate to first talk about what is really meant by this term, and so to begin the first article in the inaugural issue of Big Earth Data, let us look at how data has become big data and why that is important. | Huadong Guo | 2017 | Big Earth Data2017,1,1: | 11

Yushu earthquake synergic analysis using multimodal SAR datasets显示文摘The large earthquake measuring 7.1 on the Richter scale that occurred in Yushu County,Qinghai Province,China,on April 14,2010,caused a huge loss of life and major damage to people's properties.Using three modal synthetic-aperture radar(SAR) datasets,wide-swath SAR,interferometric SAR and polarimetric SAR,the following studies were conducted:(1) From Radarsat-2 wide swath SAR data, the regional geological structures and lithologic distribution characteristics of the Yushu earthquake were analyzed.(2) Using advanced land observing satellite/phased array L-band interferometric SAR data, the coseismic deformation field of the Yushu earthquake was obtained, and the size and spatial distribution of deformation were studied combining with the result of regional geological background analysis.(3) From Radarsat-2 polarimetric SAR data, the H-α-ρ method was used to extract the spatial distribution of building collapse caused by the earthquake in the Yushu urban area, and the reasons for the severe earthquake damage to buildings are also discussed and assessed. The study results demonstrate the effectiveness and important potential of using multimodal SAR data for synergic analysis and assessment of earthquake disasters. | GUO HuaDong WANG XinYuan LI XinWu LIU Guang ZHANG Lu YAN ShiYong | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,31: | 9
Digital Earth 2020:towards the vision for the next decade显示文摘This position paper is the outcome of a brainstorming workshop organised by the International Society for Digital Earth(ISDE)in Beijing in March 2011.It argues that the vision of Digital Earth(DE)put forward by Vice-President Al Gore 13 years ago needs to be re-evaluated in the light of the many developments in the fields of information technology, data infrastructures and earth observation that have taken place since. The paper identifies the main policy, scientific and societal drivers for the development of DE and illustrates the multi-faceted nature of a new vision of DE grounding it with a few examples of potential applications.Because no single organisation can on its own develop all the aspects of DE,it is essential to develop a series of collaborations at the global level to turn the vision outlined in this paper into reality. | Max Craglia Kees de Bie Davina Jackson Martino Pesaresi Gabor Remetey-Fulopp Changlin Wang Alessandro Annoni Ling Bian Fred Campbell Manfred Ehlers John van Genderen Michael Goodchild Huadong Guo Anthony Lewis Richard Simpson Andrew Skidmore Peter Woodgate | 2012 | International Journal of Digital Earth2012,5,1: | 8
Air-sea heat flux exchange over the South China Sea under different weather conditions before and after southwest monsoon onset in 2000显示文摘With the data observed from the Second SCS Air-Sea Flux Experiment on the Xisha air-sea flux research tower, the radiation budget, latent, sensible heat fluxes and net oceanic heat budgetswere caculated before and after summer monsoon onset. It is discovered that, after summer monsoononset, there are considerable changes in air-sea fluxes, especially in latent heat fluxes and net oceanicheat budget. Furthermre, the analyzed results of five synoptic stages are compared. And the character-istics of the flux transfer during different stages around onset of South China Sea monsoon are discussed. The flux change shows that there is an oceanic heat accumulating process during the pre-onset and thebreak period, as same as oceanic heat losing process during the onset period. Moreover, latent fluxes, the water vapor moving to the continent, even the rainfall appearance in Chinese Mainland also can beinfluenced by southwester. Comparing Xisha fluxes with those obtained from the Indian Ocean and thewestern Pacific Ocean, their differences may be obeerved. It is the reason why SSTs can keep stableover the South China Sea while they decrease quickly over the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal aftermonsoon onset. | Junyue Yan, Huadong Yao, Jianglong Li, Zhiyi Tang, Guorong Jiang, Wenyu Sha, Xunqiang Li, Yiguo Xiao National Climate Center, Beijing 100081, China. | 17 | Conceptual study of lunar-based SAR for global change monitoring显示文摘As an active microwave remote sensing imaging sensor, Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR) plays an important role in earth observation. Here we establish a SAR system based on the platform of the moon. This will aid large-scale, constant, and long-term dynamic Earth observations to better meet the needs of global change research and to complement the space borne and airborne earth observations. Lunar-based SAR systems have the characteristics of high resolution and wide swath width. The swath width could be thousands of kilometers in the stripe mode and it could cover 40% of earth's surface with 10 meters or even higher spatial resolution in the scanning mode. Using the simplified observation model, here we quantitatively analyze the spatial resolution and coverage area of lunar-based SAR and simulate the observation on the Qinghai-Tibet plateau and the Amazon plain. The results show that this system could provide near 100% daily coverage of the Qinghai-Tibet plateau, whereas 40% to 70% daily coverage of the Amazon plain. Lunar-based SAR could provide large-scale, long-term and stable time series data in order to support future research of global change. | GUO HuaDong DING YiXing LIU Guang ZHANG DaoWei FU WenXue ZHANG Lu | 2014 | Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,8: | 8
Urban sprawl in provincial capital cities in China: evidence from multi-temporal urban land products using Landsat data显示文摘The onset of global urbanization has led to a population shift from rural to urban areas and the expansion of urban development [1-3]. Urban land areas are growing at faster rates than their populations in most parts of the world [4]. The urban sprawl process refers to dispersed land development characterized by low-density, unplanned, and uneven patter ns of growth duri ng urban expansion. This process can result in inefficient use of land resources contradictory to the principle of sustainable development [5]. Additionally, urban sprawl has various environmental, economic, and social consequences, including the following: loss of agricultural land, higher costs for transportation infrastructure, increased landscape fragmentation, degeneration of soil ecological functions, and reduced ecosystem resilience. It is crucial to understand the trends and patterns of urban sprawl to implement a framework for sustainable urban development in developing regions. | Linlin Lu Huadong Guo Christina Corbane Qingting Li | 2019 | Science Bulletin2019,64,14: | 8
