| 1 | Resistance to rice blast (Pyricularia oryzae) caused by the expression of trichosanthin gene in transgenic rice plants transferred through agrobacterium method显示文摘The gene of trichosanthin has been transferred into rice plants through agrobacterium method. The single copy insertion and the expression of foreign gene have been proved in regenerated plants. In antifungal assay the degrees of rice blast (Pyricularia oryzae) infection of the transgenic plants expressing trichosanthin and expressing GUS gene as control have been evaluated. The differences such as the time of disease symptom observed, the number of infected plants and damaged leaves, the growth of infected plants of the two transgenic plants after being inoculated by rice blast (Pyricularia oryzae) are significant. The transgenic plants with trichosanthin gene grew faster than the plants with GUS gene, even when humidity environment was removed. The results show that the transgenic plants that expressed trichosanthin are able to delay the infection of rice blast compared with the plants as control. | 4 | Effect of Banxiaxiexin Tang on treatment of functional dyspepsia: a Meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the efficacy of Banxiaxiexin Tang compared with Western Medicine in the treatment of functional dyspepsia(FD) through Meta-analysis.METHODS: Literature was searched in the following databases: MEDLINE, Excerpta Medica Database, Chinese Medical Current Contents, China Science and Technology Database, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure. Randomized controlled trials evaluating the efficacy of Banxiaxiexin Tang for the treatment of FD were selected according to certain standards including clear general situation of patients, specific diagnostic criteria, definite clinical outcomes, etc. Articles were evaluated with quality assessment standards in the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions. Meta-analysis was conducted with RevMan 5.0.23 software.RESULTS: Ten articles with a total of 972 patients were included. | 7 | Study on Quantitative Relationship between Surface Wettability and Frictional Coefficient of Liquid Flowing in a Turbulent Horizontal Pipe显示文摘This paper had investigated the effects of surface wettability on the frictional resistance of turbulent horizontal flow for tap water in five pipes made of various materials and four kinds of liquids in a polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) pipe,with the same inner diameter of 14 mm. Pressure drops were measured under different flow rates through an experimental flow loop. The contact angles and adhesion work of liquids in contact with pipe surfaces were determined using a contact angle meter. Based on the dimension and regression analyses, two kinds of modified relationships between the frictional coefficient and the surface wettability were established according to the measured results corresponding to tap water in five pipes and four liquids in PTFE pipe. The experimental results show that the surface wettability has some influence on frictional coefficient of the studied liquids flowing in macroscale pipes, and the frictional coefficient decreases with the increase of the contact angle at the same Reynolds number. Meanwhile the effect of wettability on the hydrophobic surface is greater than that on the hydrophilic one. | 8 | Regulating electrolytic Fe_(0.5)CoNiCuZn_(x) high entropy alloy electrodes for oxygen evolution reactions in alkaline solution显示文摘The properties of high entropy alloys(HEAs)depend on their phase structures and compositions.However,it is difficult to control the composition of the HEAs that contain highly volatile metals by the conventional arc melting method.In this paper,homogeneous powdery face centered cubic(FCC)phase Fe_(0.5)CoNiCuZn_(x) HEAs were prepared by the electrolysis of metal oxides in molten Na_(2)CO_(3)-K_(2)CO_(3) using a stable Ni11Fe10Cu inert oxygen-evolution anode.The use of oxide precursors and relatively low synthetic temperature are beneficial to efficiently preparing HEAs that contain highly volatile elements such as Zn.Moreover,the microstructures and compositions of the electrolytic HEAs can be easily tailored by adjusting the components of oxide precursors,then further regulating its properties.Thus,the electrocatalytic activity of Fe_(0.5)Co NiCuZn_(x) HEAs towards oxygen evolution reactions(OER)was investigated in 1 M KOH.The results show that Zn promotes the OER activity of Fe_(0.5)CoNiCuZn_(x) HEAs,i.e.,the HEA(Zn_(0.8))shows the best OER activity exhibiting a low overpotential of 340 m V at 10 m A/cm^(2) and excellent stability of 24 h.Hence,molten salt electrolysis not only provides a green approach to prepare Fe_(0.5)CoNiCuZn_(x) HEAs but also offers an effective way to regulate the structure of the alloys and thereby optimizes the electrocatalytic activities for water electrolysis. | Jian Huang Peilin Wang Peng Li Huayi Yin Dihua Wang | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,34: | 4 |
| 9 | Serum semaphorin 4C as a diagnostic biomarker in breast cancer:A multicenter retrospective study显示文摘Background:To date,there is no approved blood-based biomarker for breast cancer detection.Herein,we aimed to assess semaphorin 4C(SEMA4C),a pivotal protein involved in breast cancer progression,as a serum diagnostic biomarker.Methods:We included 6,213 consecutive inpatients from Tongji Hospital,Qilu Hospital,and Hubei Cancer Hospital.Training cohort and two validation cohorts were introduced for diagnostic exploration and validation.A pan-cancer cohort was used to independently explore the diagnostic potential of SEMA4C among solid tumors.Breast cancer patients who underwent mass excision prior to modified radical mastectomy were also analyzed.We hypothesized that increased pretreatment serum SEMA4C levels,measured using optimized in-house enzymelinked immunosorbent assay kits,could detect breast cancer.The endpoints were diagnostic performance,including area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC),sensitivity,and specificity.Post-surgery pathological diagnosis was the reference standard and breast cancer staging followed the TNM classification.There was no restriction on disease stage for eligibilities.Results:We included 2667 inpatients with breast lesions,2378 patients with other solid tumors,and 1168 healthy participants.Specifically,118 patients with breast cancer were diagnosed with stage 0(5.71%),620 with stage I(30.00%),966 with stage II(46.73%),217 with stage III(10.50%),and 8 with stage IV(0.39%).Patients with breast cancer had significantly higher serum SEMA4C levels than benign breast tumor patients and normal controls(P<0.001).Elevated serum SEMA4C levels had AUC of 0.920(95%confidence interval[CI]:0.900–0.941)and 0.932(95%CI:0.911–0.953)for breast cancer detection in the two validation cohorts.The AUCs for detecting early-stage breast cancer(n=366)and ductal carcinoma in situ(n=85)were 0.931(95%CI:0.916–0.946)and 0.879(95%CI:0.832–0.925),respectively.Serum SEMA4C levels significantly decreased after surgery,and the reduction was more striking after modified radical mastectomy,compared with mass excision(P<0.001).The positive rate of enhanced serum SEMA4C levels was 84.77%for breast cancer and below 20.75%for the other 14 solid tumors.Conclusions:Serum SEMA4C demonstrated promising potential as a candidate biomarker for breast cancer diagnosis.However,validation in prospective settings and by other study groups is warranted. | Ya Wang Long Qiao Jie Yang Xiong Li Yaqi Duan Jiahao Liu Shaoqi Chen Huayi Li Dan Liu Tian Fang Jingjing Ma Xiaoting Li Fei Ye Junxiang Wan Juncheng Wei Qin Xu Ensong Guo Ping Jin Mingfu Wu Lin Zhang Yun Xia Yaqun Wu Jun Shao Yaojun Feng Qing Zhang Zongyuan Yang Gang Chen Qinghua Zhang Xingrui Li Shixuan Wang Junbo Hu Xiaoyun Wang Mona P.Tan Kazuaki Takabe Beihua Kong Qifeng Yang Ding Ma Qinglei Gao | 2021 | Cancer Communications2021,41,12: | 3 |

| 12 | Geometric optimization model for the solar cavity receiver with helical pipe at different solar radiation显示文摘In consideration of geometric parameters, several researches have already optimized the thermal efficiency of the cylindrical cavity receiver. However, most of the optimal results have been achieved at a fixed solar radiation. At different direct normal irradiance (DNI), any single optimal result may not be suitable enough for different regions over the world. This study constructed a 3-D numerical model of cylindrical cavity receiver with DNI variation. In the model of a cylindrical cavity receiver containing a helical pipe, the heat losses of the cavity and heat transfer of working medium were also taken into account. The simulation results show that for a particular DNI in the range of 400 W/m2 to 800 W/m2, there exists a best design for achieving a highest thermal efficiency of the cavity receiver. Besides, for a receiver in constant geometric parameters, the total heat losses increases dramatically with the DNI increasing in that range, as well as the temperature of the working medium. The thermal efficiency presented a different variation tendency with the heat losses, which is 2.45% as a minimum decline. | 19 | The capacitive performances of carbon obtained from the electrolysis of CO_(2) in molten carbonates: Effects of electrolysis voltage and temperature显示文摘The electrochemical reduction of CO2 to capacitive carbon in molten Li2 CO3–Na2 CO3–K2 CO3 is an effective strategy for capturing and utilizing CO2. This paper reports the effects of the cell voltages and operating temperatures(450–650 °C) of the molten salt electrolysis on the capacitive performance of electrolytic carbon. The electrolytic carbon delivers excellent specific capacitance when the cell voltage is 4.5 V and the temperature of molten salt is 450 °C. The carbon obtained at 450 °C and under 4.5 V delivers a specific capacitance of 550 F g^(-1) at 0.2 A g^(-1) in 1 M aqueous H2 SO4, and the capacity retention rate is73% after 10000 cycles.
