| 1 | Ca. 2.5 Ga TTG rocks in the western Alxa Block and their implications显示文摘The Alxa Block is considered part of the North China Craton, but the unambiguous Archean basement has not been reported. In this study, we present the first evidence of the Neoarchean rocks in the Beidashan area of the western Alxa Block. The petrographic and geochemical data show that these rocks are granodiorite with TTG (tonalite-trondhjemite-granodiorite) characteristics. Zircon U-Pb dating gave an age of 2522±30 Ma for the magmatic core and 2496±11 Ma for the metamorphic recrystallized rim. The near-identical age between the Latest Neoarchean magmatism and the high-grade metamorphism shows that these features were related to the same Latest Neoarchean-Earliest Paleoproterozoic tectonothermal event. The age-corrected Hf (t) value is mainly between 0.4 and 4.9. The two-stage zircon Hf model age ranges from 2.7 to 3.0 Ga, suggesting that the Mesoarchean- Neoarchean (2.7-3.0 Ga) juvenile crust was reworked at the end of the Neoarchean in the western Alxa Block. | 3 | The China Multi-Model Ensemble Prediction System and Its Application to Flood-Season Prediction in 2018显示文摘Multi-model ensemble prediction is an effective approach for improving the prediction skill short-term climate prediction and evaluating related uncertainties. Based on a combination of localized operation outputs of Chinese climate models and imported forecast data of some international operational models, the National Climate Center of the China Meteorological Administration has established the China multi-model ensemble prediction system version 1.0 (CMMEv1.0) for monthly-seasonal prediction of primary climate variability modes and climate elements. We verified the real-time forecasts of CMMEv1.0 for the 2018 flood season (June-August) starting from March 2018 and evaluated the 1991-2016 hindcasts of CMMEv1.0. The results show that CMMEv1.0 has a significantly high prediction skill for global sea surface temperature (SST) anomalies, especially for the El Nino-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) in the tropical central-eastern Pacific. Additionally, its prediction skill for the North Atlantic SST triple (NAST) mode is high, but is relatively low for the Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) mode. Moreover, CMMEv1.0 has high skills in predicting the western Pacific subtropical high (WPSH) and East Asian summer monsoon (EASM) in the June-July-August (JJA) season. The JJA air temperature in the CMMEv1.0 is predicted with a fairly high skill in most regions of China, while the JJA precipitation exhibits some skills only in northwestern and eastern China. For real-time forecasts in March-August 2018, CMMEv1.0 has accurately predicted the ENSO phase transition from cold to neutral in the tropical central-eastern Pacific and captures evolutions of the NAST and IOD indices in general. The system has also captured the main features of the summer WPSH and EASM indices in 2018, except that the predicted EASM is slightly weaker than the observed. | 4 | High temperature and high pressure rheological properties of high-density water-based drilling fluids for deep wells显示文摘To maintain tight control over rheological properties of high-density water-based drilling fluids, it is essential to understand the factors influencing the rheology of water-based drilling fluids. This paper examines temperature effects on the rheological properties of two types of high-density water-based drilling fluids (fresh water-based and brine-based) under high temperature and high pressure (HTHP) with a Fann 50SL rheometer. On the basis of the water-based drilling fluid systems formulated in laboratory, this paper mainly describes the influences of different types and concentration of clay, the content of a colloid stabilizer named GHJ-1 and fluid density on the rheological parameters such as viscosity and shear stress. In addition, the effects of aging temperature and aging time of the drilling fluid on these parameters were also examined. Clay content and proportions for different densities of brine-based fluids were recommended to effectively regulate the rheological properties. Four rheological models, the Bingham, power law, Casson and H-B models, were employed to fit the rheological parameters. It turns out that the H-B model was the best one to describe the rheological properties of the high-density drilling fluid under HTHP conditions and power law model produced the worst fit. | 5 | Multiple Components are Integrated to Determine Leaf Complexity in Lotus japonicus显示文摘Transcription factors and phytohormones have been reported to play crucial roles to regulate leaf complexity among plant species. Using the compound-leafed species Lotus japonicus, a model legume plant with five visible leaflets, we characterized four independent mutants with reduced leaf complexity, proliferating floral meristem (pfm), proliferating floral organ-2 (pfo-2), fused leaflets1 (ful1) and umbrella leaflets (uml), which were further identified as loss-of-function mutants of Arabidopsis orthologs LEAFY (LFY ), UNUSUAL FLORAL ORGANS (UFO), CUP-SHAPED COTYLEDON 2 (CUC2) and PIN-FORMED 1 (PIN1), respectively. Comparing the leaf development of wild-type and mutants by a scanning electron microscopy approach, leaflet initiation and/or dissection were found to be affected in these mutants. Expression and phenotype analysis indicated that PFM/LjLFY and PFO/LjUFO determined the basipetal leaflet initiation manner in L. japonicus. Genetic analysis of ful1 and uml mutants and their double mutants revealed that the CUC2-like gene and auxin pathway also participated in leaflet dissection in L. japonicus, and their functions might influence cytokinin biogenesis directly or indirectly. | 7 | Fishery Biology of Jumbo Flying Squid Dosidicus gigas off Costa Rica Dome显示文摘The jumbo flying squid(Dosidicus gigas) population was surveyed with the help of Chinese squid jigging vessels off the Costa Rica Dome(4°–11°N, 90°–100°W) in 2009 and 2010. The daily catch of D. gigas in the two survey cruises ranged from 0 to 5.5 t and was mostly obtained from the areas bounded by 6°–9°N and 91°–94°W and by 6°30′–7°30′N and 96°–97°W. The sea surface temperature in the areas yielding the most catch ranged from 27.5 to 29℃. The sex ratio of the total catch was 3.75:1(female: male). The mantle length of the squid ranged from 211 to 355 mm(male) and from 204 to 429 mm(female) with an average of 297.9 and 306.7 mm, respectively. In the relationship of the mantle length(mm) and body weight(g) of the squid, there was no significant difference between sexes. The female and male were at a similar maturity, and most individuals are maturing or have matured with a few females being spent. The size(mantle length) and age at the first sexual maturity were 297 mm and 195 d in females, and less than 211 mm and 130 d in males, respectively. Most of the sampled stomachs(70.6%) had no food remains. The major preys of the squids were fish, cephalopods and crustaceans, with the most abundant Myctophum orientale and D. gigas. The preys in more than 65% of the non-empty sampled stomachs evidenced the cannibalism of D. gigas. | 13 | Experimental Study of the Effect of Autonomic Nervous System on the Transmural Dispersion of Ventricular Repolarization under Acute Myocardial Ischemia in Vivo显示文摘Summary: The effect of the autonomic nerves on the transmural dispersion of ventricular repolarization (TDR) under acute myocardial ischemia in intact canine was investigated. Using the monophasic action potential (MAP) recording technique, MAPs of the epicardium (Epi), midmyocardium (Mid) and endocardium (Endo) were recorded simultaneously by specially designed plunge-needle electrodes at the left ventricular free wall under acute myocardial ischemia in 12 open-chest dogs. MAPD 90 and TDR among three myocardial layers as well as the incidence of the early afterdepolarization (EAD) before autonomic nervous stimulation and during autonomic nervous stimulation were compared. It was found that 10 min after acute myocardial ischemia, TDR was increased from 55±8 ms to 86±15 ms during sympathetic stimulation (P<0.01). The TDR (53±9 ms) during parasympathetic stimulation was not significantly different from that of the control (55±8 ms) (P>0.05). The EAD was elicited in the Mid of 2 dogs (16 %) 10 min after acute myocardial ischemia, but the EAD were elicited in the Mid of 7 dogs (58 %) during sympathetic stimulation (P<0.01). | 17 | Unusual relationship between impact toughness and grain size in a high-manganese steel显示文摘The high-manganese steels are important structural materials,owing to their excellent toughness at low temperatures.However,the microstructural causes for their unusual properties have not adequately been understood thus far.Here,we report a reversal relationship between impact toughness and grain size in a high-manganese steel and its unrevealed microscopic mechanisms,which result in an excellent low-temperature toughness of the steel.Our investigations show that with increasing grain size the impact toughness of the steel can be improved drastically,especially at low-temperatures.Advanced electron microscopy characterization reveals that the enhanced impact toughness of the coarse-grained steel is attributed to the twinning induced plasticity and transformation induced plasticity effects,which produce large quantities of deformation twins,ε_(hcp)-martensite andα'_(bcc)-martensite.Inversely,in the fine-grained steels,the formation of deformation twins and martensite is significantly inhibited,leading to the decrease of impact toughness.Microstructural characterizations also indicate thatε_(hcp)-martensite becomes more stable thanα'_(bcc)-martensite with decreasing temperature,resulting in characteristic microstructures in the coarse-grained samples after impact deformation at liquid nitrogen temperature.In the coarse-grained samples under impact deformation at-80℃,ε_(hcp)-martensite transformation,α'_(bcc)-martensite transformation and deformation twinning all occur simultaneously,which greatly improves the toughness of the steel. | Pan Xie Shucheng Shen Cuilan Wu Jiehua Li Jianghua Chen | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,30: | 2 |

| 20 | Recent advances in engineered nanomaterials for acute kidney injury theranostics显示文摘Acute kidney injury(AKI),has become the focus of increasing attention due to its high risk of death.The early diagnosis and treatment of AKI significantly reduce the risk of renal tissue damage and kidney dysfunction.However,the efficient early diagnosis and treatment approach for AKI remains a challenge.AKI screening via precise nanomaterial theranostics is a new alternative approach.This study summarizes the recent advances in functional nanomaterials in the early detection and treatment of AKI.The challenges and problems in the use of nanomaterials for AKI in clinical applications are also discussed.It is anticipated that highlighting these new advances will lay the foundation for further translational research on the promising application of nanomaterials for AKI. | Lefeng Wang Yunjing Zhang Yangyang Li Jianghua Chen Weiqiang Lin | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,4: | 1 |
