1The cGAS-STING signaling in cardiovascular and metabolic diseases: Future novel target option for pharmacotherapy显示文摘The cyclic GMP-AMP synthase(cGAS)-stimulator of interferon genes(STING) signaling exert essential regulatory function in microbial-and onco-immunology through the induction of cytokines, primarily type I interferons. Recently, the aberrant and deranged signaling of the cGAS-STING axis is closely implicated in multiple sterile inflammatory diseases, including heart failure,myocardial infarction, cardiac hypertrophy, nonalcoholic fatty liver diseases, aortic aneurysm and dissection, obesity, etc. This is because of the massive loads of damage-associated molecular patterns(mitochondrial DNA, DNA in extracellular vesicles) liberated from recurrent injury to metabolic cellular organelles and tissues, which are sensed by the pathway. Also, the cGAS-STING pathway crosstalk with essential intracellular homeostasis processes like apoptosis, autophagy, and regulate cellular metabolism.Targeting derailed STING signaling has become necessary for chronic inflammatory diseases. Meanwhile, excessive type I interferons signaling impact on cardiovascular and metabolic health remain entirely elusive. In this review, we summarize the intimate connection between the cGAS-STING pathway and cardiovascular and metabolic disorders. We also discuss some potential small molecule inhibitors for the pathway. 2Microstructure and corrosion behavior of the heat affected zone of a stainless steel 308L-316L weld joint显示文摘Microstructure of the heat affected zone(HAZ) of a 308 L-316 L stainless steel(SS) weld joint and its corrosion behavior in high temperature water were studied. Peak of the residual strain was observed to approach to the fusion boundary in the HAZ while the strain increased from the top to root areas of the HAZ. The root area of the HAZ shows a lower corrosion resistance in high temperature water than the top and middle areas of the HAZ. This is attributed to a higher level of residual strain in association with a higher density of tangled dislocations in the top area of the HAZ. 3Estrogenic effect of the extract of Renshen(Radix Ginseng) on reproductive tissues in immature mice显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the estrogenic efficacy of Renshen(Radix Ginseng)(GS) on reproductive target tissues in immature mice.METHODS: One hundred and ten female immature Kunming(KM) mice, 21-day-old, were randomly assigned to eleven groups, 10 for each; one served as control group treated with 0.154 mg/kg estradiol valerate(EV,n = 10), the rest were treated respectively with GS intragastrically at a daily dose of 0.5,1.0, 1.5, 3.0, 6.0, 12.0, 18.0, 24.0 and 30.0 g/kg(n =10 in per group) for 7 days. The estrous cycle, uterine weight, hormone levels in circulation and histomorphology changes of uterus and vagina were scrupulously examined. The estrogen receptor(ER)α and ERβ expressions in the uterus and vagina were detected by immunohistochemistry and western blotting.RESULTS: Treatment with GS at the dose of 12.0,18.0 and 24.0 g/kg resulted significant estrogenic activity in the mice, as indicated by advanced and prolonged estrous stage and increased uterine weight(all P < 0.05). GS treatment substantially promoted development of reproductive tissue by thickening the uterine endometrium and increasing vaginal epithelial layers. In addition, treatment with GS induced significant up-regulation of ERαand ERβ expressions in reproductive tissues, and ERα up-regulation was stronger than that of ERβ.GS could raise levels of circulating estrogen, simultaneously decrease levels of luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone(all P < 0.001)compared with the control group.CONCLUSION: Our findings suggest that GS had estrogenic effect on reproductive tissues in immature mice by stimulating biosynthesis of estrogen in circulation and up-regulating ERs.Ding Jie Xu Ying Ma Xiaoping An Jinna Yang Xiudong Liu Zhiqiang Lin Na 2015Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2015,35,4:3

7Microstructure Characterization of the Fusion Zone of an Alloy 600-82 Weld Joint显示文摘Characterization of the microstructure of the fusion zone of an Alloy 600-82 weld joint was conducted,with focus on the weld residual strain distribution and the comparison of the microstructure of heat affected zone(HAZ) with that of cold worked alloy. Peak of the residual strain was observed to approach to the fusion boundary in HAZ while the strain increased from the top of the weld to the root. Strain distribution in the HAZ was found to be concentrated adjacent to grain boundaries(GBs), with a peak of approximately three times of that in grain. Further, triple junctions of the GB appear to cause a higher strain concentration than single GBs. The microstructure of HAZ consists of partially tangled dislocations, which is different from slip bands of high density dislocations in cold worked alloy. 8Controllability and observability of networked control systems with time-varying delays显示文摘The controllability and observability of networked control systems are studied.Aiming at the networked control system with time-varying delay,the sufficient and necessary conditions for complete controllability and complete observability of the system are presented,respectively.Because of Markov characteristic of the network-induced delay,in terms of stochastic theory,a sufficient and necessary condition for completely mean value controllability of networked control systems is obtained.Further,the conditions that the controllability and observability of networked control systems are equivalent to the initial time-invariant system are given.Controllability and observability realization indexes are also discussed,respectively.The numerical example demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed theory.Li Jinna Zhang Qingling Li Yuan 2009Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2009,20,4:2

19Efficacy of integrative medicine in deficiency of both qi and yin in the rat model of type 2 diabetes显示文摘Objective:To establish a rat model of type 2 diabetes(T2DM)manifesting the Chinese medicine syndrome pattern of both qi and yin deficiency for evaluating the efficacy of a Chinese herbal formula(CHF),integrative medicine(IM),and pioglitazone(PIO)on T2DM indicators in the animal model.Methods:The rat model was induced by a high-fat diet(HFD)and streptozotocin(STZ,30 mg/kg).CHF(3.4 g/kg),PIO(2.7 mg/kg),and IM(3.4 g CHF+2.7 mg PIO)were administered to rats once daily for 14 days.Related laboratory parameters were observed.Results:Diabetic rats showed unsmooth fur,alopecia,reduced activity,huddling,somnolence,depression,pale or reddened tongue,damp/dark red tail,and high levels of water and food intake,urine volume,and stool weight,but weakened grip strength.Low levels of serum SOD,Nat-Kt-ATPase,cAMP/cGMP,and a high level of iNOS were observed.Hyperglycemia,hyperinsulinemia,insulin resistance,high levels of serum glucagon/IDE and pancreatic amylin,and low serum and pancreatic SS levels were evident as well.Conclusions:A rat model of T2DM with both qi and yin deficiency was successfully replicated.CHF appeared to be more efficacious than IM and PIO in the rat model of qi and yin deficiency pattern of T2DM,though IM and PIO were each found to have their merits and drawbacks in attenuating T2DM indicators in the rat model.Jing Zhao Jinna Liu Bangzhong Wang Yuanchao Yao Guangxia Zhang Biyuan Liu Yuanfeng Zhang Tian Xie Ming Xie 2015Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2015,2,4:1
