2Climate and extrema of ocean waves in the East China Sea显示文摘Wave climate plays an important role in the air-sea interaction over marginal seas. Extreme wave height provides fundamental information for various ocean engineering practices, such as hazard mitigation, coastal structure design, and risk assessment. In this paper, we implement a third generation wave model and conduct a high-resolution wave hindcast over the East China Sea to reconstruct a 15-year wave field from 1988 to 2002 for derivation of monthly mean wave parameters and analysis of extreme wave conditions. The numerical results of the wave field are validated through comparison with satellite altimetry measurements, low-resolution reanalysis, and the ocean wave buoy record. The monthly averaged wave height and wave period show seasonal variation and refined spatial patterns of surface waves in the East China Sea. The climatological significant wave height and mean wave period decrease from the open ocean in the southeast toward the continental area in the northwest, with the pattern generally following the bathymetry. Extreme analysis on the significant wave height at the buoy station indicates the hindcast data underestimate the extreme values relative to the observations. 3Experimental study on removing NO from flue gas using microwave irradiation over activated carbon carried catalyst显示文摘Nitrogen oxides(NOx) from flue gas can be removed efficiently by activated carbon continuously irradiated by microwave,which,however,needs high temperature and consumes excessive carbon. If catalyst is added into activated carbon,then reaction temperature can be reduced and selectivity of reaction enhanced. The effects on flue gas denitrification by adding different catalysts to microwave reactor were studied in this paper. It was found that the addition of catalyst could reduce the microwave power required by the same removal efficiency obviously;the difference of removal efficiency was different due to different catalysts,and the Cu-based catalyst has more catalytic action efficiency. Reaction temperature decreased by about 200℃ and removal efficiency increased by 25% after adding Cu-based catalyst. 5SRSF1 plays a critical role in invariant natural killer T cell development and function显示文摘Invariant natural killer T(iNKT)cells are highly conserved innate-like T lymphocytes that originate from CD4^(+)CD8^(+)double-positive(DP)thymocytes.Here,we report that serine/arginine splicing factor 1(SRSF1)intrinsically regulates iNKT cell development by directly targeting Myb and balancing the abundance of short and long isoforms.Conditional ablation of SRSF1 in DP cells led to a substantially diminished iNKT cell pool due to defects in proliferation,survival,and TCRαrearrangement.The transition from stage 0 to stage 1 of iNKT cells was substantially blocked,and the iNKT2 subset was notably diminished in SRSF1-deficient mice.SRSF1 deficiency resulted in aberrant expression of a series of regulators that are tightly correlated with iNKT cell development and iNKT2 differentiation,including Myb,PLZF,Gata3,ICOS,and CD5.In particular,we found that SRSF1 directly binds and regulates pre-mRNA alternative splicing of Myb and that the expression of the short isoform of Myb is substantially reduced in SRSF1-deficient DP and iNKT cells.Strikingly,ectopic expression of the Myb short isoform partially rectified the defects caused by ablation of SRSF1.Furthermore,we confirmed that the SRSF1-deficient mice exhibited resistance to acute liver injury uponα-GalCer and Con A induction.Our findings thus uncovered a previously unknown role of SRSF1 as an essential post-transcriptional regulator in iNKT cell development and functional differentiation,providing new clinical insights into iNKT-correlated disease.Jingjing Liu Menghao You Yingpeng Yao Ce Ji Zhao Wang Fang Wang Di Wang Zhihong Qi Guotao Yu Zhen Sun Wenhui Guo Juanjuan Liu Shumin Li Yipeng Jin Tianyan Zhao Hai-Hui Xue Yuanchao Xue Shuyang Yu 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,11:3
6Digital holographic microscopy with phase-shift-free structured illumination显示文摘When structured illumination is used in digital holographic microscopy(DHM),each direction of the illumination fringe is required to be shifted at least three times to perform the phase-shifting reconstruction.In this paper,we propose a scheme for spatial resolution enhancement of DHM by using the structured illumination but without phase shifting.The structured illuminations of different directions,which are generated by a spatial light modulator,illuminate the sample sequentially in the object plane.The formed object waves interfere with a reference wave in an off-axis configuration,and a CCD camera records the generated hologram.After the object waves are reconstructed numerically,a synthetic aperture is performed by an iterative algorithm to enhance the spatial resolution.The resolution improvement of the proposed method is proved and demonstrated by both simulation and experiment.Juanjuan Zheng Peng Gao Baoli Yao Tong Ye Ming Lei Junwei Min Dan Dan Yanlong Yang Shaohui Yan 2014Photonics Research2014,2,3:2

10Association Between Lipid Profiles and Left Ventricular Hypertrophy:New Evidence from a Retrospective Study显示文摘Objective To explore the association between lipid profiles and left ventricular hypertrophy in a Chinese general population.Methods We conducted a retrospective observational study to investigate the relationship between lipid markers[including triglycerides,total cholesterol,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol,high-density lipoprotein(HDL)cholesterol,non-HDL-cholesterol,apolipoprotein A-I,apolipoprotein B,lipoprotein[a],and composite lipid profiles]and left ventricular hypertrophy.A total of 309,400 participants of two populations(one from Beijing and another from nationwide)who underwent physical examinations at different health management centers between 2009 and 2018 in China were included in the cross-sectional study.7,475 participants who had multiple physical examinations and initially did not have left ventricular hypertrophy constituted a longitudinal cohort to analyze the association between lipid markers and the new-onset of left ventricular hypertrophy.Left ventricular hypertrophy was measured by echocardiography and defined as an end-diastolic thickness of the mterventricular septum or left ventricle posterior wall>11 mm.The Logistic regression model was used in the cross-sectional study.Cox model and Cox model with restricted cubic splines were used in the longitudinal cohort.Results In the cross-sectional study for participants in the highest tertile of each lipid marker compared to the respective lowest,triglycerides[odds ratio(OR):1.2S0,95%CI:1.060 to 1.474],HDL-cholesterol(OR:0.780,95%CI:0.662 to 0.918),and lipoprotein(a)(OR:1.311,95%C7:1.115 to 1.541)had an association with left ventricular hypertrophy.In the longitudinal cohort,for participants in the highest tertile of each lipid marker at the baseline compared to the respective lowest,triglycerides[hazard ratio(HR):3.277,95%C/:1.720 to 6.244],HDL-cholesterol(HR:0.516,95%C7:0.283 to 0.940),non-HDL-cholesterol(HR:2.309,95%C/:1.296 to 4.112),apolipoprotein B(HR:2.244,95%CI:1.251 to 4.032)showed an association with new-onset left ventricular hypertrophy.In the Cox model with forward stepwise selection,triglycerides were the only lipid markers entered into the final model.Conclusion Lipids levels,especially triglycerides,are associated with left ventricular hypertrophy.Controlling triglycerides level potentiate to be a strategy in harnessing cardiac remodeling but deserve to be furdier investigated.Xuewei Huang Keqiong Deng Juanjuan Qin Fang Lei Xingyuan Zhang Wenxin Wang Lijin Lin Yuming Zheng Dongai Yao Huiming Lu Feng Liu Lidong Chen Guilan Zhang Yueping Liu Qiongyu Yang Jingjing Cai Zhigang She Hongliang Li 2022Chinese Medical Sciences Journal2022,37,2:1

14The Arabidopsis spliceosomal protein SmEb modulates ABA responses by maintaining proper alternative splicing of HAB1显示文摘Abscisic acid(ABA)signaling is critical for seed germination and abiotic stress responses in terrestrial plants.PremRNA splicing is known to regulate ABA signaling.However,the involvement of canonical spliceosomal components in regulating ABA signaling is poorly understood.Here,we show that the spliceosome component Sm core protein SmEb plays an important role in ABA signaling.SmEb expression is up-regulated by ABA treatment,and analysis of Arabidopsis smeb mutant plants suggest that SmEb modulates the alternative splicing of the ABA signaling component HAB1 by enhancing the HAB1.1 splicing variant while repressing HAB1.2.Overexpression of HAB1.1 but not HAB1.2 rescues the ABA-hypersensitive phenotype of smeb mutants.Mutations in the transcription factor ABI3,4,or 5 also reduce the ABA hypersensitivity of smeb mutants during seed germination.Our results show that the spliceosomal component SmEb plays an important role in ABA regulation of seed germination and early seedling development.Yechun Hong Juanjuan Yao Huazhong Shi Yunjuan Chen Jian-Kang Zhu Zhen Wang 2021Stress Biology2021,1,1:1

16Clinicopathological features of hypoxia-inducible factor-1α and vascular endothelial growth factor expression in patients with lung cancer显示文摘Objective The aim of the study was to investigate the clinicopathological characteristics of hypoxiainducible factor-1α(HIF-1α) and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) expression in patients with lung cancer.Methods Cancerous and noncancerous tissues were collected post-operation from 115 patients with lung cancers by the self-control method. Total RNA was extracted from the lung tissues. The status of tissue HIF-1α expression and intercellular distribution was observed by immunochemistry using a tissue microarray. The expression levels of circulating HIF-1α and VEGF were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results The expression of serum HIF-1α [(138.3 ± 28.8) μg/L] in the group of patients with lung cancer was significantly higher(P < 0.01) than that in the group of patients with pneumonia [(58.8 ± 14.5) μg/L] and the control group of patients ((24.1 ± 3.3) μg/L)There was a strong positive correlation of serum HIF-1α levels(r = 0.937, P < 0.01) with serum VEGF levels. The specific concentration of total RNA [(1.52 ± 1.14) μg/mg wet lung tissues] in the cancerous tissues was significantly higher(t = 8.494, P < 0.001) than that in the noncancerous tissues ((0.58 ± 0.33) μg/mg)The clinicopathological features of HIF-1α expression in lung cancer tissues revealed a significant relationship between positive HIF-1α expression and patient sex(χ~2 = 4.494, P = 0.034), tumor size(χ~2 = 4.679, P = 0.031), differentiation degree(χ~2= 8.846, P = 0.012), and presence of lymphatic node metastasis(χ~2= 6.604, P = 0.037).Conclusion Abnormal HIF-1α expression in lung cancer is closely related with nucleic acid metabolism and angiogenesis, and it may be helpful in the diagnosis and identification of lung cancer.Xuli Yang Li Wang Wenli Sai Yin Cai Juanjuan Gu Xin Chen Dengfu Yao 2016Oncology and Translational Medicine2016,2,6:1

19Step distribution of Yb filling fraction during microstructural evolution in skutterudites显示文摘To achieve a better material for thermoelectric power generation device, filled skutterudite Yb0.3 Co_4 Sb_(12) samples were fabricated by melting-quenching-annealing-spark plasma sintering(SPS)method. Two sets of samples, before and after SPS, were investigated. In both the two sets of samples,the average grain size of the samples increases monotonously with the increase of annealing time,while Yb filling fraction firstly increases and then decreases. Yb not filling into the skutterudite remains at the grain boundaries in the form of Yb_2 O_3 after SPS, which could be quantified by the spatially difference method of energy dispersive spectra. Step distribution of Yb filling fraction was observed in the samples annealed for 1 h, which was caused by the microstructural evolution from the peritectic phases to the skutterudite phase. The sample annealed for 3 days and SPS sintered possesses the maximum value of Yb filling fraction 0.249 and the maximum ZT value of 1.24 at 850 K.
