1Coexpression network analysis reveals an MYB transcriptional activator involved in capsaicinoid biosynthesis in hot peppers显示文摘Plant biosynthesis involves numerous specialized metabolites with diverse chemical natures and biological activities.The biosynthesis of metabolites often exclusively occurs in response to tissue-specific combinatorial developmental cues that are controlled at the transcriptional level.Capsaicinoids are a group of specialized metabolites that confer a pungent flavor to pepper fruits.Capsaicinoid biosynthesis occurs in the fruit placenta and combines its developmental cues.Although the capsaicinoid biosynthetic pathway has been largely characterized,the regulatory mechanisms that control capsaicinoid metabolism have not been fully elucidated.In this study,we combined fruit placenta transcriptome data with weighted gene coexpression network analysis(WGCNA)to generate coexpression networks.A capsaicinoid-related gene module was identified in which the MYB transcription factor CaMYB48 plays a critical role in regulating capsaicinoid in pepper.Capsaicinoid biosynthetic gene(CBG)and CaMYB48 expression primarily occurs in the placenta and is consistent with capsaicinoid biosynthesis.CaMYB48 encodes a nucleus-localized protein that primarily functions as a transcriptional activator through its C-terminal activation motif.CaMYB48 regulates capsaicinoid biosynthesis by directly regulating the expression of CBGs,including AT3a and KasIa.Taken together,the results of this study indicate ways to generate robust networks optimized for the mining of CBG-related regulators,establishing a foundation for future research elucidating capsaicinoid regulation.Binmei Sun Xin Zhou Changming Chen Chengjie Chen Kunhao Chen Muxi Chen Shaoqun Liu Guoju Chen Bihao Cao Fanrong Cao Jianjun Lei Zhangsheng Zhu 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:5
2Sharkskin-Inspired Magnetoactive Reconfigurable Acoustic Metamaterials显示文摘Most of the existing acoustic metamaterials rely on architected structures with fixed configurations,and thus,their properties cannot be modulated once the structures are fabricated.Emerging active acoustic metamaterials highlight a promising opportunity to on-demand switch property states;however,they typically require tethered loads,such as mechanical compression or pneumatic actuation.Using untethered physical stimuli to actively switch property states of acoustic metamaterials remains largely unexplored.Here,inspired by the sharkskin denticles,we present a class of active acoustic metamaterials whose configurations can be on-demand switched via untethered magnetic fields,thus enabling active switching of acoustic transmission,wave guiding,logic operation,and reciprocity.The key mechanism relies on magnetically deformable Mie resonator pillar(MRP)arrays that can be tuned between vertical and bent states corresponding to the acoustic forbidding and conducting,respectively.The MRPs are made of a magnetoactive elastomer and feature wavy air channels to enable an artificial Mie resonance within a designed frequency regime.The Mie resonance induces an acoustic bandgap,which is closed when pillars are selectively bent by a sufficiently large magnetic field.These magnetoactive MRPs are further harnessed to design stimuli-controlled reconfigurable acoustic switches,logic gates,and diodes.Capable of creating the first generation of untethered-stimuli-induced active acoustic metadevices,the present paradigm may find broad engineering applications,ranging from noise control and audio modulation to sonic camouflage.Kyung Hoon Lee Kunhao Yu Hasan Al Ba’ba’a An Xin Zhangzhengrong Feng Qiming Wang 2020Research2020,,1:2
3Radiation pre-vulcanization effect on properties of the truck tyre's transition layer and the truck tyre显示文摘In this paper,the natural rubber is chosen as the main constituents for the transition layer of all-steel load radial tyre,which is pre-vulcanized by 500-keV E-beam irradiation of up to 60 kGy.The results show that the green strength of transitional layer increases with the dose,reaching four times as much as the control(without irradiation) at 60 kGy.The final mechanical properties do not differ significantly from those of the control except that the aging and fatigue performance increased.However,thickness of the natural rubber transitional layer for an average single tyre can be reduced by 1 mm(or 1.5 kg) without obvious adverse effect on tyre performance.YANG Mingcheng ZHANG Benshang ZHU Jun LI Zhaopeng LI Kunhao GUO Dongquan ZHANG Hongna 2013Nuclear Science and Techniques2013,24,2:2
4Construction of highly-stable graphene hollow nanospheres and their application in supporting Pt as effective catalysts for oxygen reduction reaction显示文摘The construction and surface modification of three-dimensional(3D) graphene structures have been recognized as effective ways to prepare high-performance graphene-based composites in energy-related applications. Herein, on the basis of well-defined morphology and efficient electron conduction, the 3D highly-stable graphene hollow nanospheres have been synthesized by using sacrificial template method. The asprepared 3D graphene nanospheres exhibit superior mechanical stability, electrochemical stability, and strong hydrophobicity, which may accelerate the emission of H2O in acidic medium-based ORR. Accordingly, the 3D highly-stable graphene nanospheres are used to confine tiny Pt nanoparticles(3Dr-GO@Pt HNSs) for ORR in acidic medium, exhibiting superior activity with 4-electron-transfered pathway. 8Predicting Tie Strength of Chinese Guanxi by Using Big Data of Social Networks显示文摘This paper poses a question:How many types of social relations can be categorized in the Chinese context?In social networks,the calculation of tie strength can better represent the degree of intimacy of the relationship between nodes,rather than just indicating whether the link exists or not.Previou research suggests that Granovetter measures tie strength so as to distinguish strong ties from weak ties,and the Dunbar circle theory may offer a plausible approach to calculating 5 types of relations according to interaction frequency via unsupervised learning(e.g.,clustering interactive data between users in Facebook and Twitter).In this paper,we differentiate the layers of an ego-centered network by measuring the different dimensions of user's online interaction data based on the Dunbar circle theory.To label the types of Chinese guanxi,we conduct a survey to collect the ground truth from the real world and link this survey data to big data collected from a widely used social network platform in China.After repeating the Dunbar experiments,we modify our computing methods and indicators computed from big data in order to have a model best fit for the ground truth.At the same time,a comprehensive set of effective predictors are selected to have a dialogue with existing theories of tie strength.Eventually,by combining Guanxi theory with Dunbar circle studies,four types of guanxi are found to represent a four-layer model of a Chinese ego-centered network.Xin Gao Jar-Der Luo Kunhao Yang Xiaoming Fu Loring Liu Weiwei Gu 2020Journal of Social Computing2020,1,1:1

13Electrically programmable phase-change photonic memory for optical neural networks with nanoseconds in situ training capability显示文摘Optical neural networks (ONNs), enabling low latency and high parallel data processing withoutelectromagnetic interference, have become a viable player for fast and energy-efficient processing andcalculation to meet the increasing demand for hash rate. Photonic memories employing nonvolatile phase-change materials could achieve zero static power consumption, low thermal cross talk, large-scale, andhigh-energy-efficient photonic neural networks. Nevertheless, the switching speed and dynamic energyconsumption of phase-change material-based photonic memories make them inapplicable for in situ training.Here, by integrating a patch of phase change thin film with a PIN-diode-embedded microring resonator,a bifunctional photonic memory enabling both 5-bit storage and nanoseconds volatile modulation wasdemonstrated. For the first time, a concept is presented for electrically programmable phase-changematerial-driven photonic memory integrated with nanosecond modulation to allow fast in situ training and zerostatic power consumption data processing in ONNs. ONNs with an optical convolution kernel constructedby our photonic memory theoretically achieved an accuracy of predictions higher than 95% when testedby the MNIST handwritten digit database. 14Superresolution live-cell imaging reveals that the localization of TMEM106B to filopodia in oligodendrocytes is compromised by the hypomyelination-related D252N mutation显示文摘Hypomyelination leukodystrophies constitute a group of heritable white matter disorders exhibiting defective myelin development.Initially identified as a lysosomal protein,the TMEM106B D252N mutant has recently been associated with hypomyelination.However,how lysosomal TMEM106B facilitates myelination and how the D252N mutation disrupts that process are poorly understood.We used superresolution Hessian structured illumination microscopy(Hessian-SIM)and spinning discconfocal structured illumination microscopy(SD-SIM)to find that the wild-type TMEM106B protein is targeted to the plasma membrane,filopodia,and lysosomes in human oligodendrocytes.The D252N mutation reduces the size of lysosomes in oligodendrocytes and compromises lysosome changes upon starvation stress.Most importantly,we detected reductions in the length and number of filopodia in cells expressing the D252N mutant.PLP1 is the most abundant myelin protein that almost entirely colocalizes with TMEM106B,and coexpressing PLP1 with the D252N mutant readily rescues the lysosome and filopodia phenotypes of cells.Therefore,interactions between TMEM106B and PLP1 on the plasma membrane are essential for filopodia formation and myelination in oligodendrocytes,which may be sustained by the delivery of these proteins from lysosomes via exocytosis.Shijia Xing Xiaolu Zheng Huifang Yan Yanquan Mo Ruoyu Duan Zhixing Chen Kunhao Wang Kai Gao Tongsheng Chen Shiqun Zhao Jingmin Wang Liangyi Chen 2023Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,8:0

16The effect of hierarchical single-crystal ZSM-5 zeolites with different Si/Al ratios on its pore structure and catalytic performance显示文摘Hierarchical single-crystal ZSM-5 zeolites with different Si/Al ratios(Hier-ZSM-5-x,where x=50,100,150 and 200)were synthesized using an ordered mesoporous carbon-silica composite as hard template.Hier-ZSM-5-x exhibits improved mass transport properties,excellent mechanical and hydrothermal stability,and higher catalytic activity than commercial bulk zeolites in the benzyl alcohol self-etherification reaction.Results show that a decrease in the Si/Al ratio in hierarchical single-crystal ZSM-5 zeolites leads to a significant increase in the acidity and the density of micropores,which increases the final catalytic conversion.The effect of porous hierarchy on the diffusion of active sites and the final catalytic activity was also studied by comparing the catalytic conversion after selectively designed poisoned acid sites.These poisoned Hier-ZSM-5-x shows much higher catalytic conversion than the poisoned commercial ZSM-5 zeolite,which indicates that the numerous intracrystalline mesopores significantly reduce the diffusion path of the reactant,leading to the faster diffusion inside the zeolite to contact with the acid sites in the micropores predominating in ZSM-5 zeolites.This study can be extended to develop a series of hierarchical single-crystal zeolites with expected catalytic performance.Yuexin Hou Xiaoyun Li Minghui Sun Chaofan Li Syed ul Hasnain Bakhtiar Kunhao Lei Shen Yu Zhao Wang Zhiyi Hu Lihua Chen Bao-Lian Su 2021Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2021,15,2:0
