1Transcriptomic and genetic approaches reveal an essential role of the NAC transcription factor SlNAP1 in the growth and defense response of tomato显示文摘With global climate change,plants are frequently being exposed to various stresses,such as pathogen attack,drought,and extreme temperatures.Transcription factors(TFs)play crucial roles in numerous plant biological processes;however,the functions of many tomato(Solanum lycopersicum L.)TFs that regulate plant responses to multiple stresses are largely unknown.Here,using an RNA-seq approach,we identified SlNAP1,a NAC TF-encoding gene,which was strongly induced by various stresses.By generating SlNAP1 transgenic lines and evaluating their responses to biotic and abiotic stresses in tomato,we found that SlNAP1-overexpressing plants showed significantly enhanced defense against two widespread bacterial diseases,leaf speck disease,caused by Pseudomonas syringae pv.tomato(Pst)DC3000,and root-borne bacterial wilt disease,caused by Ralstonia solanacearum.In addition,SlNAP1 overexpression dramatically improved drought tolerance in tomato.Although the SlNAP1-overexpressing plants were shorter than the wild-type plants during the early vegetative stage,eventually,their fruit yield increased by 10.7%.Analysis of different hormone contents revealed a reduced level of physiologically active gibberellins(GAs)and an increased level of salicylic acid(SA)and abscisic acid(ABA)in the SlNAP1-overexpressing plants.Moreover,EMSAs and ChIP-qPCR assays showed that SlNAP1 directly activated the transcription of multiple genes involved in GA deactivation and both SA and ABA biosynthesis.Our findings reveal that SlNAP1 is a positive regulator of the tomato defense response against multiple stresses and thus may be a potential breeding target for improving crop yield and stress resistance.Jiao Wang Chenfei Zheng Xiangqi Shao Zhangjian Hu Jianxin Li Ping Wang Anran Wang Jingquan Yu Kai Shi 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:9

3Atomistic Surface Passivation of CH_(3)NH_(3)PbI_(3) Perovskite Single Crystals for Highly Sensitive Coplanar-Structure X-Ray Detectors显示文摘Organic-inorganic halide perovskites(OIHPs)are recognized as the promising next-generation X-ray detection materials.However,the device performance is largely limited by the ion migration issue of OIHPs.Here,we reported a simple atomistic surface passivation strategy with methylammonium iodide(MAI)to remarkably increase the ion migration activation energy of CH_(3)NH_(3)PbI_(3)single crystals.The amount of MAI deposited on the crystal surface is finely regulated by a self-assemble process to effectively suppress the metallic lead defects,while not introducing extra mobile ions,which results in significantly improved dark current stability of the coplanar-structure devices under a large electric field of 100Vmm^(-1).The X-ray detectors hence exhibit a record-high sensitivity above 700,000μC Gy^(-1)_(air) cm^(-2)under continuum X-ray irradiation with energy up to 50 keV,which enables an ultralow X-ray detection limit down to 1.5 nGy_(air)s^(-1).Our findings will allow for the dramatically reduced X-ray exposure of human bodies in medical imaging applications.Yilong Song Liqi Li Weihui Bi Mingwei Hao Yifei Kang Anran Wang Zisheng Wang Hanming Li Xiaohui Li Yanjun Fang Deren Yang Qingfeng Dong 2020Research2020,,1:5

5Effect of the pore length and orientation upon the electrochemical capacitive performance of ordered mesoporous carbons显示文摘By utilizing hard template method to adjust the mesopore length, and alkali activation to generate micro pores, two hierarchical porous carbons(HPCs) were prepared. With controlling of their mesopore length and the activation conditions, the complex system composed by HPCs and electrolyte was simplified and the effect of mesopore length on the performance of HPCs as electrodes in supercapacitors was investi gated. It is found that with the mesopore length getting smaller, the ordered area gets smaller and th aggregation occurs, which is caused by the high surface energy of small grains. HPC with long pore(HPCL) exhibits a donut-like morphology with well-defined ordered mesopores and a regular orientation while in HPC with short pores(HPCS), short mesopores are only orderly distributed in small regions Longer ordered channels form unobstructed ways for ions transport in the particles while shorter chan nels, only orderly distributed in small areas, results in blocked paths, which may hinder the electrolyt ions transport. Due to the unobstructed structure, HPCL exhibits good rate capability with a capacitanc retention rate over 86% as current density increasing from 50 m A/g to 1000 m A/g. 7Integrated microdevice with a windmill-like hole array for the clog-free,efficient,and self-mixing enrichment of circulating tumor cells显示文摘Circulating tumor cells(CTCs)have tremendous potential to indicate disease progression and monitor therapeutic response using minimally invasive approaches.Considering the limitations of affinity strategies based on their cost,effectiveness,and simplicity,size-based enrichment methods that involve low-cost,label-free,and relatively simple protocols have been further promoted.Nevertheless,the key challenges of these methods are clogging issues and cell aggregation,which reduce the recovery rates and purity.Inspired by the natural phenomenon that the airflow around a windmill is disturbed,in this study,a windmill-like hole array on the SU-8 membrane was designed to perturb the fluid such that cells in a fluid would be able to self-mix and that the pressure acting on cells or the membrane would be dispersed to allow a greater velocity.In addition,based on the advantages of fluid coatings,a lipid coating was used to modify the membrane surface to prevent cell aggregation and clogging of the holes.Under the optimal conditions,recovery rates of 93%and 90%were found for A549 and HeLa cells in a clinical simulation test of our platform with a CTC concentration of 20-100 cells per milliliter of blood.The white blood cell(WBC)depletion rate was 98.7%(n=15),and the CTC detection limit was less than 10 cells per milliliter of blood(n=6).Moreover,compared with conventional membrane filtration,the advantages of the proposed device for the rapid(2 mL/min)and efficient enrichment of CTCs without clogging were shown both experimentally and theoretically.Due to its advantages in the efficient,rapid,uniform,and clog-free enrichment of CTCs,our platform offers great potential for metastatic detection and therapy analyses.Hao Li Jinze Li Zhiqi Zhang Zhen Guo Changsong Zhang Zixu Wang Qiuquan Guo Chao Li Chuanyu Li Jia Yao Anran Zheng Jingyi Xu Qingxue Gao Wei Zhang Lianqun Zhou 2022Microsystems & Nanoengineering2022,8,1:1
8Highly efficient flexible perovskite solar cells with vacuum-assisted low-temperature annealed SnO2 electron transport layer显示文摘The demand for lightweight, flexible, and high-performance portable power sources urgently requires high-efficiency and stable flexible solar cells. In the case of perovskite solar cells(PSCs), most of the common electron transport layer(ETL) needs to be annealed for improving the optoelectronic properties,while conventional flexible substrates could barely stand the high temperature. Herein, a vacuumassisted annealing SnO_(2) ETL at low temperature(100℃) is utilized in flexible PSCs and achieved high efficiency of 20.14%. Meanwhile, the open-circuit voltage(V_(oc)) increases from 1.07 V to 1.14 V. The flexible PSCs also show robust bending stability with 86.8% of the initial efficiency is retained after 1000 bending cycles at a bending radius of 5 mm. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS), atomic force microscopy(AFM), and contact angle measurements show that the density of oxygen vacancies, the surface roughness of the SnO_(2) layer, and film hydrophobicity are significantly increased, respectively. These improvements could be due to the oxygen-deficient environment in a vacuum chamber, and the rapid evaporation of solvents. 10MnS hollow microspheres combined with carbon nanotubes for enhanced performance sodium-ion battery anode显示文摘MnS as anode material for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)has recently attracted great attention because of the high theoretical capacity,great natural abundance,and low cost.However,it suffers from inferior electrical conductivity and large volume expansion during the charge/discharge process,leading to tremendous damage of electrodes and subsequently fast capacity fading.To mitigate these issues,herein,a three-dimensional(3D)interlaced carbon nanotubes(CNTs)threaded into or between MnS hollow microspheres(hollow MnS/CNTs composite)has been designed and synthesized as an enhanced anode material.It can effectively improve the electrical conductivity,buffer the volume change,and maintain the integrity of the electrode during the charging and discharging process based on the synergistic interaction and the integrative structure.Therefore,when evaluated as anode for SIBs,the hollow MnS/CNTs electrode displays enhanced reve rsible capacity(275 mAh/g at 100 mA/g after 100 cycles),which is much better than that of pure MnS electrode(25 mAh/g at 100 mA/g after 100 cycles)prepared without the addition of CNTs.Even increasing the current density to 500 mA/g,the hollow MnS/CNTs electrode still delivers a five times higher reversible capacity than that of the pure MnS electrode.The rate performance of the hollow MnS/CNTs electrode is also superior to that of pure MnS electrode at various current densities from 50 mA/g to 1000 mA/g.Na Zhang Xin Li Tianyi Hou Jinze Guo Anran Fan Shibo Jin Xiaohong Sun Shu Cai Chunming Zheng 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,5:1

13Experimental study on the cavity evolution and liquid spurt of hydrodynamic ram显示文摘In research of the characteristics of the cavity evolution, the pressure, and the liquid spurt in hydrodynamic ram, the experiment of the high-velocity fragment impacting the water-filled container had been conducted. The relationships between the above three characteristics have been researched. The evolution of the cavity can be divided into three processes according to its shape characteristics. The first liquid spurt occurred in Process Ⅱ and the rest of it occurred in Process Ⅲ. The duration of the second liquid spurt is longer than the first liquid spurt. When the impact velocity of the fragment is less than996 m/s, the velocity of the second liquid spurt is the highest. When the velocity of the fragment is greater than 996 m/s, the velocity of the first liquid spurt is the highest. The maximum velocities of the first and second liquid spurt are 111 m/s and 94 m/s respectively. The pressure fluctuated sharply in Processes Ⅰ and Ⅲ. The maximum peak pressures in the shock and the cavity oscillation phases are15.51 MPa and 7.96 MPa respectively. 17Direct evidence of microbiological water quality changes on bacterial quantity and community caused by plumbing system显示文摘Drinking water quality deteriorates from treatment plant to customer taps, especially in the plumbing system. There is no direct evidence about what the differences are contributed by plumbing system. This study compared the water quality in the water main and at customer tap by preparing a sampling tap on the water main. The biomass was quantified by adenosine triphosphate(ATP) and the microbial community was profiled by 454 pyrosequencing.The results showed that in distribution pipes, biofilm contributed >94% of the total biomass,while loose deposits showed little contribution(< 2%) because of the low amount of loose deposits. The distribution of biological stable water had minor effects on the microbiocidal water quality regarding both quantity(ATP 1 ng/L vs. 1.7 ng/L) and community of the bacteria. Whereas the plumbing system has significant contribution to the increase of active biomass(1.7 ng/L vs. 2.9 ng/L) and the changes of bacterial community. The relative abundance of Sphingomonas spp. at tap(22%) was higher than that at water main(2%), while the relative abundance of Pseudomonas spp. in tap water(15%) was lower than that in the water from street water main(29%). 18Heterostructured bimetallic phosphide nanowire arrays with latticetorsion interfaces for efficient overall water splitting显示文摘Designing cost-effective and high-efficiency electrocatalysts is critical to the water splitting performance during hydrogen generation.Herein,we have developed Fe_(2)P-Co_(2)P heterostructure nanowire arrays with excellent lattice torsions and grain boundaries for highly efficient water splitting.According to the microstructural investigations and theoretical calculations,the lattice torsion interface not only contributes to the exposure of more active sites but also effectively tunes the adsorption energy of hydrogen/oxygen intermediates via the accumulation of charge redistribution.As a result,the Fe_(2)P-Co_(2)P heterostructure nanowire array exhibits exceptional bifunctional catalytic activity with overpotentials of 65 and 198 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2) for hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions,respectively.Moreover,the Fe_(2)P-Co_(2)P/NF-assembled electrolyzer can deliver 10 mA cm^(-2) at an ultralow voltage of1.51 V while resulting in a high solar-to-hydrogen conversion efficiency of 19.8%in the solar-driven water electrolysis cell.Hua Zhang Hongyi Li Yintang Zhou Fang Tan Ruijie Dai Xijun Liu Guangzhi Hu Laiming Jiang Anran Chen Renbing Wu 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,2:0

20Screening HLA-A-restricted T cell epitopes of SARS-CoV-2 and the induction of CD8^(+)T cell responses in HLA-A transgenic mice显示文摘Since severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2(SARS-CoV-2)-specific T cells have been found to play essential roles in host immune protection and pathology in patients with coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),this study focused on the functional validation of T cell epitopes and the development of vaccines that induce specific T cell responses.A total of 120 CD8^(+)T cell epitopes from the E,M,N,S,and RdRp proteins were functionally validated.Among these,110,15,6,14,and 12 epitopes were highly homologous with SARS-CoV,OC43,NL63,HKU1,and 229E,respectively;in addition,four epitopes from the S protein displayed one amino acid that was distinct from the current SARS-CoV-2 variants.Then,31 epitopes restricted by the HLA-A2 molecule were used to generate peptide cocktail vaccines in combination with Poly(I:C),R848 or poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)nanoparticles,and these vaccines elicited robust and specific CD8^(+)T cell responses in HLA-A2/DR1 transgenic mice as well as wild-type mice.In contrast to previous research,this study established a modified DC-peptide-PBL cell coculture system using healthy donor PBMCs to validate the in silico predicted epitopes,provided an epitope library restricted by nine of the most prevalent HLA-A allotypes covering broad Asian populations,and identified the HLA-A restrictions of these validated epitopes using competitive peptide binding experiments with HMy2.CIR cell lines expressing the indicated HLA-A allotype,which initially confirmed the in vivo feasibility of 9-or 10-mer peptide cocktail vaccines against SARS-CoV-2.These data will facilitate the design and development of vaccines that induce antiviral CD8^(+)T cell responses in COVID-19 patients.Xiaoxiao Jin Yan Ding Shihui Sun Xinyi Wang Zining Zhou Xiaotao Liu Miaomiao Li Xian Chen Anran Shen Yandan Wu Bicheng Liu Jianqiong Zhang Jian Li Yi Yang Haibo Qiu Chuanlai Shen Yuxian He Guangyu Zhao 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,12:0
