| 1 | Palaeoproterozoic Khondalite Belt in the western North China Craton: New evidence from SHRIMP dating and Hf isotope composition of zircons from metamorphic rocks in the Bayan Ul-Helan Mountains area显示文摘Zircom U-Pb age and Hf isotope analyses were made on gneissic granite and garnet-mica two-feldspar gneiss from the Helanshan Group in the Bayan Ul-Helan Mountains area, the western block of the North China Craton (NCC). Zircons from the gneissic granite commonly show core-mantle-rim structures, with magmatic core, metamorphic mantle and rim having ages of 2323±20 Ma, 1923±28 Ma and 1856±12 Ma, respectively. The core, mantle and rim show similar Hf isotope compositions, with single-stage depleted mantle model ages (TDM1) of 2455 to 2655 Ma (19 analyses). Most of the detrital zircons from the garnet-mica two-feldspar paragneiss have a concentrated U-Pb age distribution, with a weighted mean 207Pb/206Pb age of 1978±17 Ma. A few detrital zircons are older (2871 to 2469 Ma). The age for metamorphic overgrown rim was not determined because of strong Pb loss due to their high U content. The zircons show large variation in Hf isotope composition, with TDM1 ages of 1999 to 3047 Ma. In com- bination with previous studies, the main conclusions are as follows: (1) protolith of the khondalite se- ries in the Helanshan Group formed during Palaeoproterozoic rather than the Archaean as previously considered; (2) The results lend support to the contention that there is a huge Palaeoproterozoic Khondalite (metasedimentary) Belt between the Yinshan Mountains Block and the Ordos Block in the Western Block of NCC; (3) The widely-distributed bodies of early Palaeoproterozoic orthogneisses in the Khondalite Belt might be one of the important sources for detritus material in the khondalite series; (4) Collision between the Yinshan Block, the Ordos Block and the Eastern Block occurred in the same tectonothermal event of late Palaeoproterozoic, resulting in the final assembly of the NCC. | DONG ChunYan LIU DunYi LI JunJian WAN YuSheng ZHOU HongYing LI ChengDong YANG YueHeng XIE LieWen | 2007 | Chinese Science Bulletin2007,52,21: | 52 |
| 2 | Identification and characterization of rice blast resistance gene Pid4 by a combination of transcriptomic profiling and genome analysis显示文摘Map-based cloning of plant disease resistance (R) genes is time-consuming. Here, we reported the isolation of blast R gene Pid4 using comparative transcriptomic profiling and genome-wide sequence analysis. Pid4 encodes a coiled-coil nucleotide-binding site leucine-rich repeat(CC-NBS-LRR) protein and is constitutively expressed at diverse developmental stages in the rice variety Digu. The Pid4 protein is localized in both the nucleus and cytoplasm. Introduction of Pid4 into susceptible rice cultivars confers race-specific resistance to leaf and neck blast. Amino acid sequence comparison and blast resistance spectrum tests showed that Pid4 is a novel R gene, different from the previously reported R genes located in the same gene cluster. A Pid4 Indel marker was developed to facilitate the identification of Pid4 in different rice varieties. | 3 | A fast and effective method to perform paternity testing for Wolong giant pandas显示文摘Captive populations provide a precious genetic resource for endangered animals and a source of individuals for reintroduction to depleted habitats. Therefore, accuracy in determining paternity is of vital importance for managing captive populations and in selecting representative individuals of known genetic characteristics for release. In this study, we established a fast and effective method to conduct paternity testing for captive giant pandas in the Wolong population. This technique uses two highly polymor phic microsatellites initially, subsequent use of five less polymorphic markers and then paternity exclusion testing carried out using the giant panda paternity exclusion program we have developed. Our results revealed that (1) both sets of markers success- fully identified the real fathers in 25 cases of paternity testing and (2) the success rate of paternity exclusion varied with the degree of polymorphism of the markers used. Subsequently, we conducted correlation analysis between the success rates of paterni- ty identification with these markers, parameters of genetic diversity and tests of neutrality. We found that the paternity exclusion power of microsatellites was significantly correlated with the number of alleles (Na), expected heterozygosity (HE) and observed homozygosity statistic (FO) (all P < 0.05). From this, we developed a new variable, Na?HE/FO, showing a highly significant positive correlation with the resolution power of microsatellites (P = 0.001). Moreover, the first two highly polymorphic loci gave a 100% success rate of excluding non-paternal males because they yielded higher values of Na?HE/FO than the other five less pol- ymorphic markers. | 4 | Viscoelasticity of repaired sciatic nerve by poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) tubes显示文摘Medical-grade synthetic poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) polymer can be used as a biomaterial for nerve repair because of its good biocompatibility,biodegradability and adjustable degradation rate.The stress relaxation and creep properties of peripheral nerve can be greatly improved by repair with poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) tubes.Ten sciatic nerve specimens were harvested from fresh corpses within 24 hours of death,and were prepared into sciatic nerve injury models by creating a 10 mm defect in each specimen.Defects were repaired by anastomosis with nerve autografts and poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) tubes.Stress relaxation and creep testing showed that at 7 200 seconds,the sciatic nerve anastomosed by poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) tubes exhibited a greater decrease in stress and increase in strain than those anastomosed by nerve autografts.These findings suggest that poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) exhibits good viscoelasticity to meet the biomechanical requirements for a biomaterial used to repair sciatic nerve injury. | Chengdong Piao Peng Li Guangyao Liu Kun Yang | 2013 | Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,33: | 4 |
| 5 | Fabrication of single-walled carbon nanotube-based highly sensitive gas sensors显示文摘A highly sensitive single-walled carbon nanotube(SWCNT)-based ammonia(NH3) gas detector is manufactured by orderly assembling SWCNT using the dielectrophoretical(DEP) technology.Atom force microscopy(AFM) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM) images revealed that SWCNTs were assembled between the microelectrodes.SWCNTs were affected by the electrophoretic force which was carried out by the related theoretical analysis in a nonuniform electric field.The SWCNT field effect transistors geometry was obtained.The electrical performance of NH3 gas sensor with the SWCNT field effect transistors geometry was tested before and after the adoption of NH3 at room temperature.Experimental results indicated that the efficient assembly of SWCNT was obtained by the applied alternating current voltage with frequency of 2 MHz and amplitude of 10 V.The SWCNTs-based gas sensor had high sensitivity to NH3,and the electrical conductance of NH3 gas sensor reduced two times after interaction with NH3.The SWCNTs surface gas molecules were removed by means of ultraviolet ray irradiation for 10 min.Hence,the fabricated NH3 gas sensor could be reversible.There is a clear evidence that the adsorption of NH3 on the SWCNT channel is easy to be realized.Our theoretical results are consistent with recent experiments. | XU Ke TIAN XiaoJun WU ChengDong LIU Jian LI MengXin SUN Ying WEI FaNan | 2013 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,1: | 4 |
| 6 | Active tension optimal control for WT wheelchair robot by using a novel control law for holonomic or nonholonomic systems显示文摘The characteristics of interaction between WT wheelchair robot and stair environments is analyzed and possible patterns of WT wheelchair robot during the stair-climbing process are summarized, with criteria to determine the pattern of the wheelchair robot proposed. Aiming at the complicated mechanism of WT wheelchair robot with holonomic constraints and combining it with the dynamic programming, namely the Hamilton-Jacobi equation, a new control law called active tension optimal control is presented for holonomic or nonholonomic robotic systems, based on which one can make the wheelchair robot with a holonomic or nonholonomic mechanism track the expected reference input of constraint forces of holonomic or nonholinomic constraints as well as track the expected reference input of the generalized coordinate of each joint. | 9 | Selection of magnetic anion exchange resins for the removal of dissolved organic and inorganic matters显示文摘Four magnetic anion exchange resins (MAERs) were used as adsorbents to purify drinking water. The effect of water quality (pH, temperature, ionic strength, etc.) on the performance of MAER for the removal of dissolved organic matter (DOM) was also investigated. Among the four studied MAERs, the strong base resin named NDMP-1 with high water content and enhanced exchange capacity exhibited the highest removal rate of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) (48.9% removal rate) and UV-absorbing substances (82.4% removal rate) with a resin dose of 10 mL/L after 30 min of contact time. The MAERs could also effectively remove inorganic matter such as sulfate, nitrate and fluoride. Because of the higher specific UV absorbance (SUVA) value, the DOM in the raw water was found to be removed more effectively than that in the clarified water by NDMP resin. The temperature showed a weak influence on the removal of DOC from 6 to 26°C, while a relatively strong one at 36°C. The removal of DOM by NDMP was also affected to some extent by the pH value. | 10 | Robust Formation Maneuvers Through Sliding Mode for Multi-agent Systems With Uncertainties显示文摘This paper develops a robust control method for formation maneuvers of a multi-agent system. The multi-agent system is leader-follower-based, where the graph theory is utilized to describe the information exchange among the agents. The control method is exercised via sliding mode methodology where each agent is subjected to uncertainties. The technique of nonlinear disturbance observer is adopted in order to overcome the adverse effects of the uncertainties. Assuming that the uncertainties have an unknown bound, the formation stability conditions are investigated according to a given communication topology. In the sense of Lyapunov, not only the formation maneuvers of the multi-agent system have guaranteed stability, but the desired formations of the agents are also realized. | 13 | Daily power demand prediction for buildings at a large scale using a hybrid of physics-based model and generative adversarial network显示文摘Power demand prediction for buildings at a large scale is required for power grid operation.The bottom-up prediction method using physics-based models is popular,but has some limitations such as a heavy workload on model creation and long computing time.Top-down methods based on data driven models are fast,but less accurate.Considering the similarity of power demand patterns of single buildings and the superiority of generative adversarial network(GAN),this paper proposes a new method(E-GAN),which combines a physics-based model(EnergyPlus)and a data-driven model(GAN),to predict the daily power demand for buildings at a large scale.The new E-GAN method selects a small number of typical buildings and utilizes EnergyPlus models to predict their power demands.Utilizing the prediction for those typical buildings,the GAN then is adopted to forecast the power demands of a large number of buildings.To verify the proposed method,the E-GAN is used to predict 24-hour power demands for a set of residential buildings.The results show that(1)4.3%of physics-based models in each building category are required to ensure the prediction accuracy;(2)compared with the physics-based model,the E-GAN can predict power demand accurately with only 5%error(measured by mean absolute percentage error,MAPE)while using only approximately 9%of the computing time;and(3)compared with data-driven models(e.g.,support vector regression,extreme learning machine,and polynomial regression model),E-GAN demonstrates at least 60%reduction in prediction error measured by MAPE. | Chenlu Tian Yunyang Ye Yingli Lou Wangda Zuo Guiqing Zhang Chengdong Li | 2022 | Building Simulation2022,15,9: | 2 |

| 19 | Experimental Study on In-situ Leaching and Electrokinetic Remediation of Composite Heavy Metal-contaminated Soil显示文摘[Objectives] This study was conducted to investigate in-situ leaching and electrokinetic combined remediation of composite heavy metal-contaminated soil.[Methods] Leaching and electrokientic combined remediation was applied to remediate artificially-simulated composite Cd,Cu,Pb,and Zn-contaminated soil.The electrokinentic remediation of the soil was carried out using EDTA and acetic acid as the eluents with electrodes placed on the top and bottom of the soil,to investigate the effects of different types and concentrations of eluents,reaction time and energization methods on the remediation.[Results]Applying electrodynamic force to the leaching remediation process achieved good removal effects of Cd,Cu,Pb,and Zn in the soil.Compared with pure leaching,the leaching and electrokinetic combined remediation saved 23.8% of EDTA consumption.EDTA showed the ability to complex heavy metals better than acetic acid,and after 10 d of reaction,the 0.1 mol/L EDTA achieved very good removal effects on Cd,Cu,Pb,and Zn from the upper and middle layers of the soil column,exhibiting removal rates of 94.4%,93.3%,91.4% and 92.8% in the upper layer and 87.2%,88.2%,83.3% and 84.6%,respectively.Compared with the conventional experiments,the intermittent energization method and the voltage-increasing method improved the removal rates of Cd,Cu,Pb and Zn by 6.3%,6.1%,5.9%and 6%,and 0.6%,0.9%,0.5% and 0.4%,respectively,and saved 46.8% and 10.3% of energy consumption,respectively.[Conclusions]The study provides reference for the remediation of composite heavy metal-contaminated soil. | Hui HAN Juan ZHAI Anwei WANG Juan LI Chengdong XU Yushan WAN | 2020 | Agricultural Biotechnology2020,9,2: | 1 |
