| 1 | Effects of therapies for regulating and reinforcing lung and kidney on osteoporosis in rats with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the efficacy and long-term effects of the three therapies for regulating and reinforcing lung and kidney(reinforcing lung and invigorating spleen,reinforcing lung and replenishing kidney,and supplementing Qi and nourishing kidney) in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) on osteoporosis in rats with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.METHODS:Totally 120 rats were randomly divided into control,model,Bufeijianpi,Bufeiyishen,Yiqizishen,aminophyline groups.Repeated smoke inhalations and bacterial infections were used to duplicate the stable Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease rat model.Normal saline was given to the air control and model groups,while Bufeijianpi granule,Bufeiyishen granule,and Yiqizishen granule,and aminophylline were administrated to rats in the Bufeijianpi,Bufeiyishen,Yiqizishen,and aminophylline groups respectively from weeks 9 through 20.Another 12 weeks without medicines to observe the long-term effect.Rats were sacrificed at week 20 and week 32.Bone mass density(BMD),bone mineral content(BMC),morphology of the femoral head,lung function,and levels of serum interleukin(IL)-1β,IL-6,and tumor necrosis factor-a were detected.RESULTS:At weeks 20 and 32,tidal volume,peak expiratory flow and expiratory flow at 50% tidal volume in the three TCM-treated groups were higher than those in the model group(P < 0.05).Femur weight,BMD,and BMC were significantly higher in the three TCM-treated groups and the aminophylline-treated group compared with the model group(P < 0.01),except for BMC in the Yiqizishen-treated group at week 20.CONCLUSION:Bufeijianpi,Bufeiyishen,and Yiqizishen granules show good effects in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis,which can alleviate airflow limitations and inflammation,improve BMD and BMC of the femur,and have favorable long-term effects. | Tian Yange Li Ya Li Jiansheng Li Suyun Jiang Suli Wang Ying Lu Xiaofan Li Weiwei | 2015 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2015,35,2: | 13 |
| 2 | Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. | 3 | The Low Energy X-ray telescope (LE) onboard the Insight-HXMT astronomy satellite显示文摘The Low Energy X-ray telescope(LE) is one of the three main instruments of the Insight-Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope(Insight-HXMT). It is equipped with Swept Charge Device(SCD) sensor arrays with a total geometrical area of 384 cm^2 and an energy band from 0.7 to 13 ke V. In order to evaluate the particle induced X-ray background and the cosmic X-ray background simultaneously, LE adopts collimators to define four types of Field Of Views(FOVs), i.e., 1.6°×6°, 4°×6°, 50°-60°×2°-6 oand the blocked ones which block the X-ray by an aluminum cover. LE is constituted of three detector boxes(LEDs) and an electric control box(LEB) and achieves a good energy resolution of 140 e V@5.9 ke V, an excellent time resolution of 0.98 ms, as well as an extremely low pileup(<1%@18000 cts/s). | 5 | A Modeling Study of Diurnal Rainfall Variations during the 21-Day Period of TOGA COARE显示文摘The surface rainfall processes and diurnal variations associated with tropical oceanic convection are examined by analyzing a surface rainfall equation and thermal budget based on hourly zonal-mean data from a series of two-dimensional cloud-resolving simulations. The model is integrated for 21 days with imposed large-scale vertical velocity, zonal wind, and horizontal advection obtained from the Tropical Ocean Global Atmosphere Coupled Ocean-Atmosphere Response Experiment (TOGA COARE) in the control experiment. Diurnal analysis shows that the infrared radiative cooling after sunset, as well as the advective cooling associated with imposed large-scale ascending motion, destabilize the atmosphere and release convective available potential energy to energize nocturnal convective development. Substantial local atmospheric drying is associated with the nocturnal rainfall peak in early morning, which is a result of the large condensation and deposition rates in the vapor budget. | 8 | A Diagnostic Study of the Asymmetric Distribution of Rainfall during the Landfall of Typhoon Haitang(2005)显示文摘The precipitation during landfall of typhoon Haitang(2005) showed asymmetric structures(left side/right side of the track). Analysis of Weather Research and Forecasting model simulation data showed that rainfall on the right side was more than 15 times stronger than on the left side. The causes were analyzed by focusing on comparing the water vapor flux,stability and upward motion between the two sides. The major results were as follows:(1) Relative humidity on both sides was over80%,whereas the convergence of water vapor flux in the lower troposphere was about 10 times larger on the right side than on the left side.(2) Both sides featured conditional symmetric instability [MPV(moist potential vorticity) <0],but the right side was more unstable than the left side.(3) Strong(weak) upward motion occurred throughout the troposphere on the right(left) side. The Q vector diagnosis suggested that large-scale and mesoscale forcing accounted for the difference in vertical velocity. Orographic lift and surface friction forced the development of the asymmetric precipitation pattern. On the right side,strong upward motion from the forcing of different scale weather systems and topography caused a substantial release of unstable energy and the transportation of water vapor from the lower to the upper troposphere,which produced torrential rainfall. However,the above conditions on the left side were all much weaker,which led to weaker rainfall. | 10 | Clinical antiangiogenic effect of recombinant adenovirus-p53 combined with hyperthermia for advanced cancer显示文摘Objective:To assess the safety and clinical antiangiogenic effect of recombinant adenovirus-p53(rAd-p53)combined with hyperthermia plus or not plus radiotherapy in advanced cancer.Methods:Expression of Vascular epithelial growth factor(VEGF)after intratumoral injection of rAd-p53was assayed by immunohistochemistry(IHC)imaging.Forty-four patients with advanced cancer were enrolled into this clinical study.The patients were intratumorally injected with rAd-p53(Gendicine)at a dose of 1×1012vp once a week,with a total of 4-54(mean 7.7)times.Total of 4-29(mean 8.5)times of hyperthermia was given to the patients.Among the 44 patients,30 patients were concurrently added with radiotherapy of a total dose 30-76 Gy/15-38 f/3-8 w(mean 58 Gy).Results:Before and after intratumoral injection of rAd-p53,the VEGF IHC positive cell scores were 2.80and 1.50,respectively(P=0.031).The treatment of rAd-p53 combined with hyperthermia plus or not plus radiotherapy in advanced cancer achieved CR rate of 13.60%(6/44),and PR rate of 29.6%(13/44),and thus the effective rate was 43.2%.In addition to 6 patients with CR,19 patients(19/38,50.0%)had low density area(LDA)of more than 50%area on CT image within tumor indicating tumor tissue necrosis.Conclusions:Our data indicate that rAd-p53 inhibits VEGF expression and angiogenesis,and promotes tumor necrosis and shrinkage induced by hyperthermia plus or not plus radiotherapy in advanced cancer. | Xiaofan Li Shaowen Xiao Yongheng Li Shanwen Zhang | 2013 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2013,25,6: | 6 |

| 12 | A novel lineage of osteoprogenitor cells with dual epithelial and mesenchymal properties govern maxillofacial bone homeostasis and regeneration after MSFL显示文摘Bone regeneration originates from proliferation and differentiation of osteoprogenitors via either endochondral or intramembranous ossifcation;and the regeneration capacities decline with age and estrogen loss.Maillary sinus floor lifting(MSFL)is a commonly used surgical procedure for guiding bone regeneration in mailla.Radiographic analysis of 1210 clinical cases of maxilla bone regeneration after MSFL revealed that the intrasinus osteogenic eficacy was independent of age and gender,however;and this might be related to the Schneiderian membrane that lines the sinus cavity.In view of the particularity of this biological process,our present study aimed to elucidate the underlying mechanism of MSFL-induced bone regeneration.We frst established a murine model to simulate the clinical MSFL.By single cell RNA-sequencing and flow cytometry-based bulk RNA-sequencing,we identifed a novel Krt14^(+)Ctsk^(+)subset of cells that display both epithelial and mesenchymal properties and the transcriptomic feature of osteoprogenitors.Dual recombinases-mediated lineage tracing and oss-offunction analyses showed that these Krt14^(+)Ctsk^(+)progenitors contribute to both MSFL-induced osteogenesis and physiological bone homeostasis by differentiating into Krt14 Ctsk^(+)descendants which show robust osteogenic capacity.In addition,we detected a similar population of Kt14^(+)Ctsk^(+)cells in human samples of Schneiderian membrane,which show a highly similar osteogenic potential and transcriptomic feature to the corresponding cells in mice.The identifcation of this Krt14^(+)Ctsk^(+)population,featured by osteoprogenitor charateristics and dual epithelial-mesenchymal properties,provides new insight into the understanding of bone regeneration and may open more possibilities for clinical applications. | Yuteng Weng Haicheng Wang Di Wu Shuyu Xu Xiaofan Chen Jie Huang Yanhuizhi Feng Lin Li Zuolin Wang | 2022 | Cell Research2022,32,9: | 5 |

| 15 | Torrential Rainfall Responses to Ice Microphysical Processes during Pre-Summer Heavy Rainfall over Southern China显示文摘In this study,the effects of key ice microphysical processes on the pre-summer heavy rainfall over southern China during 3-8 June 2008 were investigated.A series of two-dimensional sensitivity cloud-resolving model simulations were forced with zonally uniform vertical velocity,zonal wind,horizontal temperature,and water vapor advection data from the National Centers for Environmental Prediction(NCEP)/Global Data Assimilation System(GDAS).The effects of key ice microphysical processes on the responses of rainfall to large-scale forcing were analyzed by comparing two sensitivity experiments with a control experiment.In one sensitivity experiment,ice crystal radius,associated with depositional growth of snow from cloud ice,was reduced from 100 μm in the control experiment to 50 μm,and in the other sensitivity experiment the efficiency of the growth of graupel from the accretion of snow was reduced to 50% from 100% in the control experiment.The results show that the domain-mean rainfall responses to these ice microphysical processes are stronger during the decay phase than during the onset and mature phases.During the decay phase,the increased mean rain rate resulting from the decrease in ice crystal radius is associated with the enhanced mean local atmospheric drying,the increased mean local hydrometeor loss,and the suppressed mean water vapor divergence.The increased mean rain rate caused by the reduction in accretion efficiency is related to the reduced mean water vapor divergence and the enhanced mean local hydrometeor loss. | 沈新勇 刘佳 Xiaofan Li | 2012 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2012,29,3: | 5 |
| 16 | Fatigue behavior of direct laser deposited Ti-6.5Al-2Zr-1Mo-1V titanium alloy and its life distribution model显示文摘The present work aims to investigate the fatigue behavior of Direct Laser Deposition(DLD) Ti-6.5 Al-2 Zr-1 Mo-1 V titanium alloy under constant amplitude stress. 22 pieces of DLD Ti-6.5 Al-2 Zr-1 Mo-1 V titanium alloy standard cylinder specimens were tested under a stress level of 800 MPa with a stress ratio of 0.06. Fatigue fractography and fatigue life data were obtained.Through the fracture surface analysis, the specimens were divided into two categories in accordance with the location of crack initiation and defect types. Comparison of fatigue life and behavior between two specimen types was given, which was followed by a discussion about the impact of defect type, size and position on the fatigue life of the specimen. The fatigue test results also show a large variation of fatigue life. To illustrate the statistical characteristics of the fatigue life, probabilistic analysis was performed, and a novel bimodal lognormal model was established. | 17 | Individual aircraft life monitoring: An engineering approach for fatigue damage evaluation显示文摘Individual aircraft life monitoring is required to ensure safety and economy of aircraft structure, and fatigue damage evaluation based on collected operational data of aircraft is an integral part of it. To improve the accuracy and facilitate the application, this paper proposes an engineering approach to evaluate fatigue damage and predict fatigue life for critical structures in fatigue monitoring. In this approach, traditional nominal stress method is applied to back calculate the S-N curve parameters of the realistic structure details based on full-scale fatigue test data. Then the S-N curve and Miner's rule are adopted in damage estimation and fatigue life analysis for critical locations under individual load spectra. The relationship between relative small crack length and fatigue life can also be predicted with this approach. Specimens of 7 B04-T74 aluminum alloy and TA15 M titanium alloy are fatigue tested under two types of load spectra, and there is a good agreement between the experimental results and analysis results. Aiming at the complicated mechanism of WT wheelchair robot with holonomic constraints and combining it with the dynamic programming, namely the Hamilton-Jacobi equation, a new control law called active tension optimal control is presented for holonomic or nonholonomic robotic systems, based on which one can make the wheelchair robot with a holonomic or nonholonomic mechanism track the expected reference input of constraint forces of holonomic or nonholinomic constraints as well as track the expected reference input of the generalized coordinate of each joint.
