| 1 | Counteraction of ABA-Mediated Inhibition of Seed Germination and Seedling Establishment by ABA Signaling Terminator in Arabidopsis显示文摘Seed germination and seedling establishment are important for the reproductive success of plants,but seeds and seedlings typically encounter constantly changing environmental conditions.By inhibiting seed germination and post-germinative growth through the PYR1/PYL/RCAR ABA receptors and PP2C co-receptors,the phytohormone abscisic acid(ABA)prevents premature germination and seedling growth under unfavorable conditions.However,little is known about how the ABA-mediated inhibition of seed germination and seedling establishment is thwarted.Here,we report that ABA Signaling Terminator(ABT),a WD40 protein,efficiently switches off ABA signaling and is critical for seed germination and seedling establishment.ABT is induced by ABA in a PYR1/PYL/RCAR-PP2C-dependent manner.Overexpression of ABT promotes seed germination and seedling greening in the presence of ABA,whereas knockout of ABT has the opposite effect.We found that ABT interacts with the PYR1/PYL/RCAR and PP2C proteins,interferes with the interaction between PYR1/PYL4 and ABI1/ABI2,and hampers the inhibition of ABI1/ABI2 by ABA-bound PYR1/PYL4,thereby terminating ABA signaling.Taken together,our results reveal a core mechanism of ABA signaling termination that is critical for seed germination and seedling establishment in Arabidopsis. | Zhijuan Wang Ziyin Ren Chunhong Cheng Tao Wang Hongtao Ji Yang Zhao Zhiping Deng Liya Zhi Jingjing Lu Xinying Wu Shimin Xu Mengmeng Cao Hongtao Zhao Liu Liu Jiankang Zhu Xia Li | 2020 | Molecular Plant2020,13,9: | 10 |
| 2 | Quantitative Trait Loci for Panicle Layer Uniformity Identified in Doubled Haploid Lines of Rice in Two Environments显示文摘Uniformity of stem height in rice directly affects crop yield potential and appearance,and has become a vital index for rice improvement.In the present study,a doubled haploid(DH) population,derived from a cross between japonica rice Chunjiang 06 and indica rice TN1 was used to analyze the quantitative trait locus(QTL) for three related traits of paniclelayer-uniformity;that is,the tallest panicle height,the lowest panicle height and panicle layer disuniformity in two locations:Hangzhou(HZ) and Hainan(HN).A total of 16 QTLs for three traits distributed on eight chromosomes were detected in two different environments.Two QTLs,qTPH-4 and qTPH-8 were co-located with the QTLs for qLPH-4 and qLPH-8,which were only significant in the HZ environment,whereas the qTPH-6 and qLPH-6 located at the same interval were only significant in the HN environment.Two QTLs,qPLD-10-1 and qPLD-10-2,were closely linked to qTPH-10,and they might have been at the same locus.One QTL,qPLD-3,was detected in both environments,explaining more than 23% of the phenotypic variations.The CJ06 allele of qPLD-3 could increase the panicle layer disuniformity by 9.23 and 4.74 cm in the HZ and HN environments.Except for qPLD-3,almost all other QTLs for the same trait were detected only in one environment,indicating that these three traits were dramatically affected by environmental factors.The results may be useful for elucidation of the molecular mechanism of panicle-layer-uniformity and marker assisted breeding for super-rice. | Liangyong Ma Jinsong Bao Longbiao Guo Dali Zeng Ximing Li Zhijuan Ji Yingwu Xia Changdeng Yang Qian Qian | 2009 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2009,51,9: | 7 |
| 3 | Dephosphorylation of cardiomyocyte Cx43 is associated with myocardial ischemia and reperfusion injury显示文摘Objective:Myocardial ischemia/reperfusion(I/R) injury is the leading cause of death in the world. However,the details of the mechanism of its pathophysiology are still unknown. The present study was designed to investigate the role of connexin 43(Cx43) in acute models of myocardial I/R injury. Methods:Male C57BL/6 mice were subjected to myocardial ischemia(45 min) followed by reperfusion(4 hrs) in vivo. The whole operation was monitored using a two-lead ECG. Hearts were harvested and the level of protein was assessed by western blot analysis. Haematoxylin and Eosin(HE) staining was used to detect the extent of neutrophil infiltration. The expression level of IL-6 was detected by ELISA. Results:A murine myocardial I/R injury model was constructed successfully. Phosphorylated Cx43 decreased 83. 45% while non-phosphorylated Cx43 increased 1.62-fold in the myocardium after I/R injury. Neutrophil infiltration and the expression of the inflammatory cytokine IL-6 increased in the myocardium following I/R. | 5 | Discovery of the ancient Ordovician oil-bearing karst cave in Liuhuanggou,North Tarim Basin,and its significance显示文摘A typical ancient karst cave is found in the Yijianfang Formation of Ordovician at Liuhuanggou,North Tarim Basin.With an entrance of 4.8 m wide and 20 m high,the Liuhuanggou ancient karst cave extends to NW 315° and has been filled by sediments,which can be classified into three types according to their nature and origin:clastic sediments(gravels),chemical sediments(palaeotravertine),and mixed sediments.Among them,the Paleotravertine and gravels are most common.The palaeotravertine is laminated type and yellowish brown or black in color due to oil inside.When saturated with oil,the palaeotravertine is black.Under microscope,oil mainly accumulates in the cracks between calcite crystals.The filling period of the Liuhuanggou karst cave can be divided into three stages:mixed filling,chemical filling,and clastic(palaeotravertine breccia) filling.Numerous fractures are distributed on one side of the karst cave.The fractures can be as wide as 40 cm and over 40 m long.Fractures of different periods and sizes constitute a fracture network and are all filled with calcite veins.Oil can be found inside the fractures.In the chemical fillings,sulfur is also found,which can indicate the magma influence on karst caves.The existence of sulfur also confirms that the Liuhunggou karst cave was formed in ancient times rather than recently or nowadays.Different from normal sedimentary limestone,the ancient Liuhuanggou karst cave has a distinct isotope fractionation and the depletion of heavy carbon and oxygen isotope.Controlled by the northwest oriented vertical strike-slip shear fault,the karst cave is actually a dissolved vertical fault belt. | ZHONG JianHua MAO Cui LI Yong LI Yang YUAN XiangChun NIU YongBin CHEN Xin HuANG ZhiJuan SHAO ZhuFu WANG PeiJun LI Jia ZHANG DanFeng | 2012 | Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,9: | 4 |
| 6 | Comparative studies on fouling of homogeneous anion exchange membranes by different structured organics in electrodialysis显示文摘Five negatively charged organic compounds with different structures, sodium methane sulfonate(MS), sodium benzene sulfonate(BS), sodium 6-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulfonate(NSS), sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS), and sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate(SDBS), were used to examine the fouling of an anion exchange membrane(AEM) in electrodialysis(ED),to explore the effect of molecular characteristics on the fouling behavior on the AEM and changes in the surface and electrochemical properties of the AEM. Results indicated that the fouling degree of the AEM by the different organics followed the order:SDBS > SDS > NSS > BS > MS. SDBS and SDS formed a dense fouling layer on the surface of the AEM, which was the main factor in the much more severe membrane fouling, and completely restricted the transmembrane ion migration. The other three organics caused fouling of the AEM by adsorption on the surface and/or accumulation in the interlayer of the AEM, and exhibited almost no influence on the transmembrane ion migration. | 8 | In Situ Exfoliation and Pt Deposition of Antimonene for Formic Acid Oxidation via a Predominant Dehydrogenation Pathway显示文摘Direct formic acid fuel cell(DFAFC)has been considered as a promising energy conversion device for stationary and mobile applications.Advanced platinum(Pt)electrocatalysts for formic acid oxidation reaction(FAOR)are critical for DFAFC.However,the oxidation of formic acid on Pt catalysts often occurs via a dual pathway mechanism,which hinders the catalytic activity owing to the CO poisoning.Herein,we directly exfoliate bulk antimony to 2D antimonene(Sb)and in situ load Pt nanoparticles onto antimonene sheets with the assistance of ethylenediamine.According to the Bader charge analysis,the charge transfer from antimonene to Pt occurs,confirming the electronic interaction between Pt and Sb.Interestingly,antimonene,as a cocatalyst,alters the oxidation pathway for FAOR over Pt catalyst and makes FAOR follow the more efficient dehydrogenation pathway.The density functional theory(DFT)calculation demonstrates that antimonene can activate Pt to be a lower oxidative state and facilitate the oxidation of HCOOH into CO_(2) via a direct pathway,resulting in a weakened intermediate binding strength and better CO tolerance for FAOR.The specific activity of FAOR on Pt/Sb is 4.5 times,and the mass activity is 2.6 times higher than the conventional Pt/C. | Yiqiong Zhang Man Qiao Yucheng Huang Yuqin Zou Zhijuan Liu Li Tao Yafei Li Chung-Li Dong Shuangyin Wang | 2020 | Research2020,,1: | 3 |

| 10 | Mapping QTLs for heading synchrony in a doubled haploid population of rice in two environments显示文摘Simultaneous heading of plants within the same rice variety, also refer to heading synchrony, is an important factor that affects simultaneous ripening of the variety. Understanding of the genetic basis of heading synchrony may contribute to molecular breeding of rice with simultaneous heading and ripening. In the present study, a doubled haploid (DH) population, derived from a cross between Chunjiang 06 and TN1 was used to analyze quantitative trait locus (QTL) for heading synchrony related traits, i.e., early heading date (EHD), late heading date (LHD), heading asynchrony (HAS), and tiller number (PN). A total of 19 QTLs for four traits distributed on nine chromosomes were detected in two environments. One QTL, qHAS-8 for HAS, explained 27.7% of the phenotypic variation, co-located with the QTLs for EHD and LHD, but it was only significant under long-day conditions in Hangzhou, China. The other three QTLs, qHAS-6, qHAS-9, and qHAS-10, were identified under short-day conditions in Hainan, China, each of which explained about 11% of the phenotypic variation. Two of them, qHAS-6 and qHAS-9, were co-located with the QTLs for EHD and LHD. Two QTLs, qPN-4 and qPN-5 for PN, were detected in Hangzhou, and qPN-5 was also detected in Hainan. However, none of them was co-located with QTLs for EHD, LHD, and HAS, suggesting that PN and HAS were controlled by different genetic factors. | 11 | 中国家族性胃癌的研究(英文)显示文摘Objective:The aim of the study was to investigate the influence of gastric cancer family history in the gastric cancer (GC) patients. Methods: Gastric cancer family histories within second degree relatives and clinicopathological features were obtained for 497 patients. Results:Of the 497 probands,235 probands were incorporated into familial gastric cancer (FGC) group (there were at least two GC members in the family); 262 probands were included in the non-FGC group (relatives only affected with non-GCs). Of 614 tumors in relatives,GC was the most frequent,followed by lung cancer,esophageal cancer,hepatocellular cancer,colorectal cancer,urogenital cancer,breast cancer,and pancreatic cancer. Most affected members aggregated within first-degree relatives. The ratio of males to females in affected first-degree relatives was usually higher in male probands. Paternal history of GC was a strong risk for GC in males,while risk of GC by maternal history of GCs was increased in females. Difference in tumor histological types between the two groups was derived from an excess of diffuse GC in non-FGC male probands. The lower site was the most frequent tumor location in all subgroups. Conclusion:Distribution of associated non-GCs in a family history of GC may vary with geographic areas. The development of low-cost, highly efficient and stable electrocatalyst is essential to a large-scale application of energy storage and conversion devices. Recently, emerging plasma technology has been employed as one of the practical ways to synthesize and modify electrocatalysts due to its unique property. In this review, we summarized the latest applications of plasma in energy storage and conversion, including using it as the preparation and modification technology of the various electrocatalysts and the usage of it as the synthesis technology directly. Firstly, we presented the definition and types of plasma reactors and their respective characteristics. Then, these applications of plasma technology in many essential electrode reactions including carbon dioxide reduction reaction(CO_2RR), nitrogen fixation, oxygen reduction reaction(ORR), oxygen evolution reaction(OER) and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) were introduced.Finally, the challenges and outlook of plasma technology in energy storage and conversion were summarized, and the solutions and prospected its development in the future were present. | 15 | NUCLEAR PORE ANCHOR and EARLY IN SHORT DAYS 4 negatively regulate abscisic acid signaling by inhibiting Snf1-related protein kinase2 activity and stability in Arabidopsis显示文摘Abscisic acid(ABA)is a key regulator of plant responses to abiotic stresses,such as drought.Abscisic acid receptors and coreceptors perceive ABA to activate Snf1-related protein kinase2 s(SnRK2s)that phosphorylate downstream effectors,thereby activating ABA signaling and the stress response.As stress responses come with fitness penalties for plants,it is crucial to tightly control SnRK2 kinase activity to restrict ABA signaling.However,how SnRK2 kinases are inactivated remains elusive.Here,we show that NUCLEAR PORE ANCHOR(NUA),a nuclear pore complex(NPC)component,negatively regulates ABA-mediated inhibition of seed germination and post-germination growth,and drought tolerance in Arabidopsis thaliana.The role of NUA in response to ABA depends on SnRK2.2 and SnRK2.3 for seed germination and on SnRK2.6 for drought.NUA does not directly inhibit the phosphorylation of these SnRK2s or affects their abundance.However,the NUA-interacting protein EARLY IN SHORT DAYS 4(ESD4),a SUMO protease,negatively regulates ABA signaling by directly interacting with and inhibiting SnRK2 phosphorylation and protein levels.More importantly,we demonstrated that SnRK2.6 can be SUMOylated in vitro,and ESD4 inhibits its SUMOylation.Taken together,we identified NUA and ESD4 as SnRK2 kinase inhibitors that block SnRK2 activity,and reveal a mechanism whereby NUA and ESD4 negatively regulate plant responses to ABA and drought stress possibly through SUMOylation-dependent regulation of SnRK2s. | Ya-Nan Chang Zhijuan Wang Ziyin Ren Chun-Han Wang Pengcheng Wang Jian-Kang Zhu Xia Li Cheng-Guo Duan | 2022 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,11: | 2 |
