1Cancer incidence and mortality in Shandong province,2012显示文摘Objective: Population-based cancer registration data in 2012 from all available cancer registries in Shandong province were collected by Shandong Center for Disease Control and Prevention(SDCDC). SDCDC estimated the numbers of new cancer cases and cancer deaths in Shandong province with compiled cancer incidence and mortality rates.Methods: In 2015, there were 21 cancer registries submitted data of cancer incidence and deaths occurred in 2012. All the data were checked and evaluated based on the National Central Cancer Registry(NCCR) criteria of data quality. Qualified data from 15 registries were used for cancer statistics analysis as provincial estimation. The pooled data were stratified by area(urban/rural), gender, age group(0, 1-4, 5-9, 10-14, …, 85+ years) and cancer type. New cancer cases and deaths were estimated using age-specific rates and corresponding provincial population in 2012. The Chinese census data in 2000 and Segi's population were applied for age-standardized rates. All the rates were expressed per 100,000 person-year.Results: Qualified 15 cancer registries(4 urban and 11 rural registries) covered 17,189,988 populations(7,486,039 in urban and 9,703,949 in rural areas). The percentage of cases morphologically verified(MV%) and death certificate-only cases(DCO%) were 66.12% and 2.93%, respectively, and the mortality to incidence rate ratio(M/I) was 0.60. A total of 253,060 new cancer cases and 157,750 cancer deaths were estimated in Shandong province in 2012. The incidence rate was 263.86/100,000(303.29/100,000 in males, 223.23/100,000 in females), the age-standardized incidence rates by Chinese standard population(ASIRC) and by world standard population(ASIRW) were 192.42/100,000 and 189.50/100,000 with the cumulative incidence rate(0-74 years old) of 22.07%. The cancer incidence, ASIRC and ASIRW in urban areas were 267.64/100,000, 195.27/100,000 and 192.02/100,000 compared to 262.32/100,000, 191.26/100,000 and 188.48/100,000 in rural areas, respectively. The cancer mortality was 164.47/100,000(207.42/100,000 in males, 120.23/100,000 in females), the age-standardized incidence rates by Chinese standard population(ASMRC) and by world standard population(ASMRW) were 117.54/100,000 and 116.90/100,000, and the cumulative mortality rate(0-74 years old) was 13.53%. The cancer mortality, ASMRC and ASMRW were 141.59/100,000, 101.17/100,000 and 100.33/100,000 in urban areas, and 173.79/100,000, 124.20/100,000 and 123.64/100,000 in rural areas, respectively. Cancers of the lung, stomach, liver, esophagus, colorectum, female breast, brain, leukemia, bladder and pancreas were the most common cancers, accounting for about 82.12% of all cancer new cases. Lung cancer, stomach cancer, liver cancer, esophageal cancer, colorectal cancer, female breast cancer, pancreatic cancer, brain tumor, leukemia and lymphoma were the leading causes of cancer death, accounting for about 89.01% of all cancer deaths. The cancer spectrum showed difference between urban and rural, males and females both in incidence and mortality rates.Conclusions: Cancer surveillance information in Shandong province is making great progress with the increasing number of cancer registries, population coverage and the improving data quality. Cancer registration plays a fundamental role in cancer control by providing basic information on population-based cancer incidence, mortality, survival and time trend. 4Genome-wide CRISPR screen identifies synthetic lethality between DOCK1 inhibition and metformin in liver cancer显示文摘Metformin is currently a strong candidate anti-tumor agent in multiple cancers.However,its anti-tumor effectiveness varies among different cancers or sub-populations,potentially due to tumor heterogeneity.It thus remains unclear which hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)patient subpopulation(s)can benefit from met-formin treatment.Here,through a genome-wide CRISPR-Cas9-based knockout screen,we find that DOCK1 levels determine the anti-tumor effects of met-formin and that DOCK1 is a synthetic lethal target of metformin in HCC.Mechanistically,metformin promotes DOCK1 phosphorylation,which activates RAC1 to facilitate cell survival,leading to metformin resistance.The DOCK1-selective inhibitor,TBOPP,potentiates anti-tumor activity by metformin in vitro in liver cancer cell lines and patient-derived HCC organoids,and in vivo in xenografted liver cancer cells and immunocompetent mouse liver cancer models.Notably,metformin improves overall survival of HCC patients with low DOCK1 levels but not among patients with high DOCK1 expression.This study shows that metformin effective-ness depends on DOCK1 levels and that combining metformin with DOCK1 inhibition may provide a promising personalized therapeutic strategy for met-formin-resistant HCC patients.Junru Feng Hui Lu Wenhao Ma Wenjing Tian Zhuan Lu Hongying Yang Yongping Cai Pengfei Cai Yuchen Sun Zilong Zhou Jiaqian Feng Jiazhong Deng Ying Shu Kun Qu Weidong Jia Ping Gao Huafeng Zhang 2022Protein & Cell2022,13,11:5
5Synthesis and performance of carbon-modified LiFePO_4 using an in situ PVA pyrolysis procedure显示文摘LiFePO4/carbon composite cathode material was prepared by granulating and subsequent pyrolysis processing in N2 at- mosphere with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as the carbon source. The influences of carbon content on the microstructure and battery performance were investigated. Single LiFePO4 phase and amorphous carbon can be found in the products. A special mi- cro-morphology of the optimum sample was observed. The discharge capacity of the cell with the optimum cathode was 135 mAh·g?1, close to the charge capacity of 153 mAh·g?1 at 17 mA·g?1. The influence of ambient temperature on the cell capacity was investigated. The temperature dependence of its electrochemical characteristic was evaluated by using AC impedance spectroscopy. A new equivalent circuit based on the charge and mass transfer control process in an electrode was proposed to fit the obtained AC im- pedance spectra. 6Resource and trajectory optimization in UAV-powered wireless communication system显示文摘The unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) is a promising enabler of Internet of Things(IoT) owing to its highly flexible features. Combined with wireless power transfer(WPT) techniques, a UAV can provide energy for IoT nodes, which can extend the lifetime of energy constrained communication systems. This paper studies resource and trajectory optimization in UAV-powered wireless communication systems, which consists of two UAVs and two ground nodes(GNs). The system works in a way that the two UAVs alternately charge the two GNs through wireless power transfer and two GNs also alternately send their information to the corresponding UAV with the harvested energy, which can effectively reduce the interference while receiving the information of GNs. Aiming to maximize the minimum throughput of two GNs, wireless resource and UAVs’ trajectories are jointly optimized with the constraints of UAV collision avoidance, flying speed, and transmit power. Successive convex programming(SCP) and block coordinate descent(BCD) are utilized to solve the optimization problem. 7Nlrc3-like is required for microglia maintenance in zebrafish显示文摘Microglia are tissue-resident macrophages residing in the central nervous system (CNS) and play critical roles in removing cellular debris and infectious agents as well as regulating neurogenesis and neuronal activities. Yet, the molecular basis underlying the establishment of microglia pool and the maintenance of their homeostasis in the CNS remain largely undefined. Here we report the identification and characterization of a mutant zebrafish, which harbors a point mutation in the nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain (NOD) like receptor gene nlrc3-like, resulting in the loss of microglia in a temperature sensitive manner. Temperature shift assay reveals that the late onset of nlrc3-like deficiency leads to excessive microglia cell death. Further analysis shows that the excessive microglia death in nlrc3-like deficient mutants is attributed, at least in part, to aberrant activation of canonical inflammasome pathway. 9Engineer Nanoscale Defects into Selective Channels:MOF-Enhanced Li^(+) Separation by Porous Layered Double Hydroxide Membrane显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D)membrane-based ion separation technology has been increasingly explored to address the problem of lithium resource shortage,yet it remains a sound challenge to design 2D membranes of high selectivity and permeability for ion separation applications.Zeolitic imidazolate framework functionalized modified layered double hydroxide(ZIF-8@MLDH)composite membranes with high lithium-ion(Li^(+)) permeability and excellent operational stability were obtained in this work by in situ depositing functional ZIF-8 nanoparticles into the nanopores acting as framework defects in MLDH membranes.The defect-rich framework amplified the permeability of Li^(+),and the site-selective growth of ZIF-8 in the framework defects bettered its selectivity.Specifically speaking,the ZIF-8@MLDH membranes featured a high permeation rate of Li^(+) up to 1.73 mol m^(−2) h^(−1) and a desirable selectiv-ity of Li^(+)/Mg^(2+) up to 31.9.Simulations supported that the simultaneously enhanced selectivity and permeability of Li+are attributed to changes in the type of mass transfer channels and the difference in the dehydration capacity of hydrated metal cations when they pass through nanochannels of ZIF-8.This study will inspire the ongoing research of high-performance 2D membranes through the engineering of defects.Yahua Lu Rongkun Zhou Naixin Wang Yuye Yang Zilong Zheng Miao Zhang Quan-Fu An Jiayin Yuan 2023Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,9:1
10Superior performance porous carbon nitride nanosheets for helium separation from natural gas:Insights from MD and DFT simulations显示文摘Increasing helium(He)demand in fundamental research,medical,and industrial processes necessitates efficient He purification from natural gas.However,most theoretically available membranes focus on the separation of two or three kinds of gas molecules with He and the underlying separation mechanism is not yet well understood.Using molecular dynamic(MD)and first-principle density function theory(DFT)simulations,we systematically demonstrated a novel porous carbon nitride membrane(g-C_(9)N_(7))with superior performance for He separation from natural gas.The structure of g-C_(9)N_(7) monolayer was optimized first,and the calculated cohesive energy confirmed its structural stability.Increasing temperature from 200 to 500 K,the g-C_(9)N_(7)membrane revealed high He permeability,as high as 1.48×10^(7) GPU(gas permeation unit,1 GPU=3.35×10^(-10) mol·s^(-1)·Pa^(-1)·m^(-2))at 298 K,and also exhibited high selectivity for He over other gases(Ar,N_(2),CO_(2),CH_(4),and H_(2)S).Then,the selectivity of He over Ne was found to decrease with increasing the total number of He and Ne molecules,and to increase with increasing He to Ne ratio.More interestingly,a tunable He separation performance can be achieved by introducing strain during membrane separation.Under the condition of 7.5%compressive strain,the g-C_(9)(N_(7)(membrane reached the highest He over Ne selectivity of 9.41×10^(2).It can be attributed to the low energy barrier for He,but increased energy barrier for other gases passing through the membrane,which was subject to a compressive strain.These results offer important insights into He purification using g-C_(9)N_(7)membrane and opened a promising avenue for the screening of industrial grade gas separation with strain engineering.Zilong Liu Ge Zhao Xiao Zhang Lei Gao Junqing Chen Weichao Sun Guanggang Zhou Guiwu Lu 2021Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,9:1
11Towards low emissions and high thermal efficiency of gasoline compression ignition engine under high loads by modulating the fuel reactivity and injection strategy显示文摘Gasoline compression ignition(GCI) is a practicable way to obtain low emissions and high thermal efficiency of gasoline-like fuels in internal combustion engines. In this paper, the research octane number(RON) and injection strategy were coordinated to optimize the GCI engine performance and emissions under high loads. The direct injection and port injection were used to achieve two injection strategies: direct injection(DI) and port injection plus direct injection(PIDI), and the primary reference fuels(PRF) with the RON of 60, 70, 80 and 90 were used. The results show that using lower RON fuels under high loads, DI mode can achieve higher efficiency, while PIDI mode can achieve lower combustion noise at an expense of slightly lower fuel economy. When the DI mode is converted to PIDI mode with a pre-injection ratio of 30%, using PRF70 under 12 bar and the exhaust gas recirculation(EGR) rate of 40%, the gross indicated thermal efficiency and the maximum pressure rise rate are reduced by 1% and by 2 bar/°CA, respectively, while the particle emissions also decrease significantly, thus achieving low emissions and high efficiency. However, under the same load and EGR rate, DI mode produces less regulated and unregulated emissions than PIDI mode. 12Extraction of Alpha transmitter signals from single-station observations using the direction-finding method显示文摘For the applications of Alpha very-low-frequency(VLF) systems consisting of multiple transmitters, determining the origin transmitter station of received signals is a crucial problem. Based on single-station observations, this study develops a directionfinding method to extract Russian Alpha transmitter signals. First, the amplitudes of Alpha signals received in Suizhou City,Hubei Province(31.57°N, 113.32°E) in the east-west(EW) and north-south(NS) directions are obtained by the power spectrum method. The amplitude ratios of signals in the two directions are subsequently adopted to estimate the propagation angles of the signals with respect to the NS direction of the VLF receiver station. Phase ambiguity in our system is eliminated by comparing Alpha signal waveform with that from the VTX transmitter in India(8.39°N, 77.75°E) as a reference station. Finally, we can determine the quadrant where the incoming wave signals are located relative to the receiver and eventually distinguish the exact Alpha transmitters. Based on the direction-finding results, the amplitudes of each Alpha signal are extracted, and their diurnal variation features are analyzed to verify the performance of our method. 14The regulation mechanism and heat transfer enhancement of composite mixed paraffin and copper foam phase change materials显示文摘Phase change materials(PCMs)have remarkable energy storage capacity and promising applications in the field of thermal control of electronic products.The problem of thermal property improvement and heat transfer of PCMs in metal-foam heatsinks is an important task for thermal management of electronic components.Mixed paraffin samples were prepared by mixing appropriate proportions of paraffin(mass)at various temperatures.Differential scanning calorimetry analysis revealed that the maximum enthalpy of 206.3 J/g is obtained by mixing 20%of 17°C liquid paraffin and 80%of 29℃ solid paraffin.Heating and cooling cycling tests revealed that mixed paraffin exhibits excellent thermal stability and that the regulation method marginally affects thermal stability.Moreover,composites were prepared by embedding PCM into a copper foam by melt impregnation.The thermal conductivity of the composites increased to 4.35 W/(m K),corresponding to 20 times its original value.In addition,density functional theory and experimental results were in good agreement,indicating that the regulation method is practical and effective.YANG HanXue ZHANG GuanHua DOU BinLin CUI GuoMin YAN XiaoYu LU Wei WANG ZiLong 2023Science China(Technological Sciences)2023,66,8:1

18Cebpa is essential for the embryonic myeloid progenitor and neutrophil maintenance in zebrafish显示文摘In vertebrates, myeloid cells arise from multiple waves of development: the first or embryonic wave of myelopoiesis initiates early from non-hematopoietic stem cell(HSC) precursors and gives rise to myeloid cells transiently during early development; whereas the second or adult wave of myelopoiesis emerges later from HSCs and produces myeloid cells continually during fetal and adult life. In the past decades, a great deal has been learnt about the development of myeloid cells from adult myelopoiesis, yet the genetic network governing embryonic myelopoiesis remains poorly defined. In this report, we present an in vivo study to delineate the role of Cebpa during zebrafish embryonic myelopoiesis. We show that embryonic myelopoiesis in cebpa-deficient zebrafish mutants initiates properly but fails to produce macrophages and neutrophils. The lack of macrophages and neutrophils in the mutants is largely attributed to the cell cycle arrest of embryonic myeloid progenitors, resulting in the impairment of their maintenance and subsequent differentiation. We further show that Cebpa, perhaps acting cooperatively with Runx1, plays a critical role in embryonic neutrophil maintenance. 19KDELR2 promotes breast cancer proliferation via HDAC3-mediated cell cycle progression显示文摘Background:Histone deacetylases(HDACs)engage in the regulation of various cellular processes by controlling global gene expression.The dysregulation of HDACs leads to carcinogenesis,making HDACs ideal targets for cancer therapy.However,the use of HDAC inhibitors(HDACi)as single agents has been shown to have limited success in treating solid tumors in clinical studies.This study aimed to identify a novel downstream effector of HDACs to provide a potential target for combination therapy.Methods:Transcriptome sequencing and bioinformatics analysis were performed to screen for genes responsive toHDACi in breast cancer cells.The effects of HDACi on cell viability were detected using the MTT assay.The mRNA and protein levels of genes were determined by quantitative reverse transcription-PCR(qRT-PCR)andWestern blotting.Cell cycle distribution and apoptosis were analyzed by flow cytometry.The binding of CREB1(cAMP-response element binding protein 1)to the promoter of the KDELR(The KDEL(Lys-Asp-Glu-Leu)receptor)gene was validated by the ChIP(chromatin immunoprecipitation assay).The association between KDELR2 and protein of centriole 5(POC5)was detected by immunoprecipitation.A breast cancer-bearing mouse model was employed to analyze the effect of the HDAC3-KDELR2 axis on tumor growth.Results:KDELR2 was identified as a novel target of HDAC3,and its aberrant expression indicated the poor prognosis of breast cancer patients.We found a strong correlation between the protein expression patterns of HADC3 and KDELR2 in tumor tissues from breast cancer patients.The results of the ChIP assay and qRT-PCR analysis validated that HDAC3 transactivated KDELR2 via CREB1.The HDAC3-KDELR2 axis accelerated the cell cycle progression of cancer cells by protecting the centrosomal protein POC5 from proteasomal degradation.Moreover,the HDAC3-KDELR2 axis promoted breast cancer cell proliferation and tumorigenesis in vitro and in vivo.Conclusion:Our results uncovered a previously unappreciated function of KDELR2 in tumorigenesis,linking a critical Golgi-the endoplasmic reticulum traffic transport protein to HDAC-controlled cell cycle progression on the path of cancer development and thus revealing a potential therapeutical target for breast cancer.Haoran Wei Wenhao Ma Xiaofei Lu Haiying Liu Kashuai Lin Yinghui Wang Zijian Ye Linchong Sun Zhitong Huang Tingting Pan Zilong Zhou Eric Y.Cheng Huafeng Zhang Ping Gao Xiuying Zhong 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,9:0
20In-situ construction of hybrid artificial SEI with fluorinated siloxane to enable dendrite-free Li metal anodes显示文摘Lithium(Li)metal anode holds great promise for high-energy-density rechargeable batteries.However,it suffers from the Li dendrites growth and uncontrollable side reactions with electrolyte due to the unstable solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)layer.Herein,we propose a facile strategy for the in-situ fabricate of organic-inorganic composite artificial SEI layers on Li surfaces,which consist of organic fluorinated siloxane and inorganic LiF-rich phases.The hybrid artificial SEI endows high mechanical strength(13.1 GPa)and Liþtransfer number(0.62).Such robust SEI protective layers can not only guide uniform nucleation and deposition of Li metal by facilitating uniform Li-ion distribution,but also prevent unfavourable side reactions.Accordingly,the protected metallic lithium anode(PMTFPS-Li)anode enables stable Li plating/stripping performance in symmetric cells for more than 300 h at 4 mA$h/cm^(2)under a high areal capacity of 4 mA/cm^(2).Moreover,the PMTFPS-Li/S cells could maintain more than 300 stable cycles at 0.5C and the PMTFPS-Li/LFP cells present excellent cycling performance(400 cycles at 1C)and enhanced rate capability(110.4 mA$h/g at 3 C).This work will inspire the design of artificial SEI on Li anodes for advanced Li metal batteries.Lei Wei Zhaoqing Jin Jianhao Lu Yang Guo Zilong Wang Gaoping Cao Jingyi Qiu Anbang Wang Weikun Wang 2023Journal of Materiomics2023,9,2:0
