| 1 | Focal depth research of earthquakes in China's Mainland: Implication for tectonics显示文摘Focal depth data of earthquakes in China's Mainland are processed and analyzed in this paper, as well as the relationship between the focal depths and large-scale tectonic structures. As a basic parameter for earthquakes, focal depth is used to investigate deep environment of seis-mogenic regions, tectonic backgrounds for concentration and release of seismic energy, the inner crustal deformation and its mechanic features. Depth data of 31282 ML≥2.0 events with 1st class and 2nd class precision in China's Mainland from Jan. 1, 1970 to May 31, 2000 are used to get spatial features of earthquakes distributed with depth and to provide average depth for each grid area throughout China. Researches show that the average depth (D) for all the earthquakes used in this paper is (16±7) km, and (13±6) km and (18±8) km for the events in eastern China and western China, respectively. | 3 | Effects of therapies for regulating and reinforcing lung and kidney on osteoporosis in rats with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the efficacy and long-term effects of the three therapies for regulating and reinforcing lung and kidney(reinforcing lung and invigorating spleen,reinforcing lung and replenishing kidney,and supplementing Qi and nourishing kidney) in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) on osteoporosis in rats with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.METHODS:Totally 120 rats were randomly divided into control,model,Bufeijianpi,Bufeiyishen,Yiqizishen,aminophyline groups.Repeated smoke inhalations and bacterial infections were used to duplicate the stable Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease rat model.Normal saline was given to the air control and model groups,while Bufeijianpi granule,Bufeiyishen granule,and Yiqizishen granule,and aminophylline were administrated to rats in the Bufeijianpi,Bufeiyishen,Yiqizishen,and aminophylline groups respectively from weeks 9 through 20.Another 12 weeks without medicines to observe the long-term effect.Rats were sacrificed at week 20 and week 32.Bone mass density(BMD),bone mineral content(BMC),morphology of the femoral head,lung function,and levels of serum interleukin(IL)-1β,IL-6,and tumor necrosis factor-a were detected.RESULTS:At weeks 20 and 32,tidal volume,peak expiratory flow and expiratory flow at 50% tidal volume in the three TCM-treated groups were higher than those in the model group(P < 0.05).Femur weight,BMD,and BMC were significantly higher in the three TCM-treated groups and the aminophylline-treated group compared with the model group(P < 0.01),except for BMC in the Yiqizishen-treated group at week 20.CONCLUSION:Bufeijianpi,Bufeiyishen,and Yiqizishen granules show good effects in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis,which can alleviate airflow limitations and inflammation,improve BMD and BMC of the femur,and have favorable long-term effects. | Tian Yange Li Ya Li Jiansheng Li Suyun Jiang Suli Wang Ying Lu Xiaofan Li Weiwei | 2015 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2015,35,2: | 13 |
| 4 | Randomized controlled multicenter clinical trial for integrated treatment of community-acquired pneumonia based on Traditional Chinese Medicine syndrome differentiation显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of treatment based on syndrome differentiation ofTraditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) for community-acquired pneumonia(CAP).METHODS:A total of 240 CAP patients were randomly divided into the following two groups:thecontrol group was treated by anti-infection plus conventional medicine treatment;and the trial group was treated by TCM plus the above-mentioned treatment given to the controls.The course of treatment was 14 days,and the patients were followed up for 7 days.RESULTS:Of the 240 patients,235 accomplished the whole process of treatment.The five patients who withdrew from the study were brought into an intent-to-treat analysis.The therapeutic effects of the trial group were superior to those of the control group(P<0.01).The trial group took less time to become clinically stable,with a higher score in the quality of life(P<0.01).There were no significant differences in mortality rate(P>0.05),white blood cell count(P>0.05),bacterial clearance rate(P>0.05),and adverse reactions between the two integrated groups.CONCLUSION:Treatment based on TCM syndrome differentiation for CAP has the advantages of resulting in less time to achieve a stable clinical condition,improvement of clinical symptoms and quality of life,and is comparatively safe. | Jiansheng Li Xueqing Yu Suyun Li Haifeng Wang Yunping Bai Minghang Wang Zikai Sun Wei Zhang Zhaoshan Zhou Xianhua Jia Qingwei Zhou | 2012 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2012,32,4: | 11 |

| 9 | Sortilin promotes macrophage cholesterol accumulation and aortic atherosclerosis through lysosomal degradation of ATP-binding cassette transporter A1 protein显示文摘Sortilin is closely associated with hyperlipidemia and the risk of atherosclerosis(AS).The role of sortilin and the underlying mechanism in peripheral macrophage are not fully understood.In this study,we investigated the effect of macrophage sortilin on ATP-binding cassette transporter A1(ABCA1)expression,ABCA1-mediated cholesterol efflux,and aortic AS.Macrophage sortilin expression was upregulated by oxidized low-density lipoproteins(ox-LDLs)in both concentration-and time-dependent manners.Its expression reached the peak level when cells were incubated with 50μg/ml ox-LDL for 24 h.Overexpression of sortilin in macrophage reduced cholesterol efflux,leading to an increase in intracellular total cholesterol,free cholesterol,and cholesterol ester.Sortilin was found to bind with ABCA1 protein and suppress macrophage ABCA1 expression,resulting in a decrease in cholesterol efflux from macrophages.The inhibitory effect of sortilin in cholesterol efflux was partially reversed by treatment with chloroquine,a lysosomal inhibitor.On the contrary,the ABCA1 protein level and ABCA1-mediated cholesterol efflux is increased by sortilin short hairpin RNA transfection.The fecal and biliary cholesterol 3H-sterol from cholesterol-laden mouse peritoneal macrophage was reduced by sortilin overexpression through lentivirus vector(LV)-sortilin in low-density lipoprotein receptor knockout mice,which was prevented by co-treatment with chloroquine.Treatment with LV-sortilin reduced plasma high-density lipoprotein and increased plasma ox-LDL levels.Accordingly,aortic lipid deposition and plaque area were exacerbated,and ABCA1 expression was reduced in mice in response to infection with LV-sortilin alone.These effects of LV-sortilin were partially reversed by chloroquine.Sortilin enhances lysosomal degradation of ABCA1 protein and suppresses ABCA1-mediated cholesterol efflux from macrophages,leading to foam cell formation and AS development. | Yuncheng Lv Jing Yang Anbo Gao Sha Sun Xilong Zheng Xi Chen Wei Wan Chaoke Tang Wei Xie Suyun Li Dongming Guo Tianhong Peng Guojun Zhao Liyuan Zhong | 2019 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,5: | 4 |
| 10 | Depositional System of the Carboniferous Huanglong Formation,Eastern Sichuan Basin:Constraints from Sedimentology and Geochemistry显示文摘Using analyses of the lithology,sequences,paleoenvironment,and tectonic setting,the depositional system of the Carboniferous Huanglong Formation in the eastern Sichuan Basin was identified.The lithological characteristics of the Lower Member,Middle Member,and Upper Member were analyzed and classified.Before the use of carbon,oxygen,and strontium isotopes in the analysis,all of the geochemical data were tested for validity.On the basis of the Z values obtained from carbon and oxygen isotopes,the paleoenvironments of the three members were elucidated.Lower Member was dominantly an enclosed marine environment with intense evaporation and little freshwater input into the sea.Middle Member developed in a semi-enclosed to normal marine environment with many rivers.Upper Member was formed in a normal marine environment.The east Sichuan Basin was enclosed by paleouplifts before the deposition of the Huanglong Formation,forming a relatively enclosed depositional setting.Paleogullies developed in the Silurian strata that underlie the Carboniferous rocks;these paleogullies can be identified.On the basis of a comprehensive analysis,we propose that the Huanglong Formation developed in a platform system.Four microfacies were identified:supratidal flat,dolostone flat,grain shoal,and shelf microfacies.The high-permeability and high-porosity characteristics of the grain shoal microfacies are favorable for hydrocarbon accumulation,while the supratidal flat and shelf microfacies developed very few high-quality reservoirs.The paleogullies,in which increased amounts of grain shoal microfacies developed,controlled the distribution of high-quality reservoirs. | WANG Kun HU Suyun LI Wei LIU Wei HUANG Qingyu MA Kui SHI Shuyuan | 2016 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2016,90,5: | 3 |

| 20 | A fatal case of liver abscess caused by hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae in a diabetic adolescent:A clinical and laboratory study显示文摘Importance Hypervirulent variants of Klebsiella pneumoniae(hvKp)are capable of causing life-threatening pyogenic liver abscesses(PLAs),but hvKp caused PLAs was seldom reported in pediatric populations.Hence,there is an urgent need to raise our awareness of this phenomenon in pediatric populations.Objective This study aimed to report the clinical characteristics of hvKp that caused fatal PLA complicated by bacteremia in an adolescent and further identify the microbiological and genomic features of the causative strain.Methods A 14-year-old boy with diabetes mellitus was admitted to our hospital with a diagnosis of PLA complicated by bacteremia.A hypermucoviscous hvKp strain,KPN_19-106,was isolated from the drainage fluid present within the liver abscess cavity and blood.The hypermucoviscosity phenotype of the causative strain was determined by string test.Its virulence was measured using serum resistance assay and Galleria mellonella larvae-killing assay.Antimicrobial susceptibility was determined by broth microdilution method.Genetic information was obtained by whole-genome sequencing and bioinformatics analysis.Results KPN_19-106 belonged to sequence type 380 and serotype K2 and exhibited stronger serum resistance and higher in vivo lethality than the well-characterized hvKp NTUH-K2044 strain.Although KPN_19-106 is susceptible to most antibiotics,no sign of improvement was observed during treatment with such drugs.Whole-genome sequencing revealed that the isolate had integrated multiple mobile genetic elements related to virulence.Interpretation Antibiotic-susceptible hvKp can cause fatal PLA complicated by bacteremia in adolescents,with no improvement during antimicrobial therapy.The causative strain in this case had integrated multiple virulence genes and thus exhibited higher virulence both in vitro and in vivo when compared with NTUH-K2044. | Yue Li Zheng Li Suyun Qian Fang Dong Qing Wang Pengfei Zhang Kaihu Yao | 2021 | Pediatric Investigation2021,5,2: | 1 |
