The inner belt is a collage made up of fragments resulting from breakup of an old land with the north part related to the evolution of the Palaeo-Asian Ocean and the south part to the evolution of the Palaeo - Pacific Ocean. The outer belt is a Mesozoic terrane, which is a melange made up of fragments of the Late Palaeozoic to Early Mesozoic oceanic crust and the Late M esozoic trench accumulations.There existed another ocean-the Palaeo - Pacific Ocean during the period from the closing of the Palaeo-Asian Ocean to the opening of the modern Pacific Ocean or from the Devonian to Jurassic, and the ocean-floor spreading of the Palaeo - Pacific Ocean led to the formation of the above-mentioned tectonic belts. | 4 | Rational use of mesenchymal stem cells in the treatment of autism spectrum disorders显示文摘Autism and autism spectrum disorders(ASD) refer to a range of conditions characterized by impaired social and communication skills and repetitive behaviors caused by different combinations of genetic and environmental influences. Although the pathophysiology underlying ASD is still unclear, recent evidence suggests that immune dysregulation and neuroinflammation play a role in the etiology of ASD. In particular, there is direct evidence supporting a role for maternal immune activation during prenatal life in neurodevelopmental conditions. Currently, the available options of behavioral therapies and pharmacological and supportive nutritional treatments in ASD are only symptomatic. Given the disturbing rise in the incidence of ASD, and the fact that there is no effective pharmacological therapy for ASD, there is an urgent need for new therapeutic options. Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs) possess immunomodulatory properties that make them relevant to several diseases associated with inflammation and tissue damage. The paracrine regenerative mechanisms of MSCs are also suggested to be therapeutically beneficial for ASD.Thus the underlying pathology in ASD, including immune system dysregulation and inflammation, represent potential targets for MSC therapy. | 6 | Critical function of DNA methyltransferase 1 in tomato development and regulation of the DNA methylome and transcriptome显示文摘DNA methylation confers epigenetic regulation on gene expression and thereby on various biological processes.Tomato has emerged as an excellent system to study the function of DNA methylation in plant development.To date,regulation and function of DNA methylation maintenance remains unclear in tomato plants.Here,we report the critical function of tomato(Solanum lycopersicum)Methyltransferase 1(Sl MET1)in plant development and DNA methylome and transcriptome regulation.Using CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing,we generated slmet1 mutants and observed severe developmental defects with a frame-shift mutation,including small and curly leaves,defective inflorescence,and parthenocarpy.In leaf tissues,mutations in Sl MET1 caused CG hypomethylation and CHH hypermethylationon a whole-genome scale,leading to a disturbed transcriptome including ectopic expression of many RIN target genes such as ACC2 in leaf tissues,which are normally expressed in fruits.Neither the CG hypomethylation nor CHH hypermethylation in the slmet1 mutants is related to tissue culture.Meanwhile,tissue culture induces non-CG hypomethylation,which occurs more frequently at gene regions than at TE regions.Our results depict Sl MET1-and tissue culture-dependent tomato DNA methylomes,and that Sl MET1 is required for maintaining a normal transcriptome and normal development of tomato. | Yu Yang Kai Tang Tatsiana U Datsenka Wenshan Liu Suhui Lv Zhaobo Lang Xingang Wang Jinghui Gao Wei Wang Wenfeng Nie Zhaoqing Chu Heng Zhang Avtar K HANDa Jian-Kang Zhu Huiming Zhang | 2019 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2019,61,12: | 3 |
| 7 | Increased circulating level of interleukin-6 and CD8+T cell exhaustion are associated with progression of COVID-19显示文摘Background: Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is pandemic.It is critical to identify COVID-19 patients who are most likely to develop a severe disease.This study was designed to determine the clinical and epidemiological features of COVID-19 patients associated with the development of pneumonia and factors associated with disease progression.Methods:: Seventy consecutive patients with etiologically confirmed COVID-19 admitted to PLA General Hospital in Beijing,China from December 27,2019 to March 12,2020 were enrolled in this study and followed-up to March 16,2020.Differences in clinical and laboratory findings between COVID-19 patients with pneumonia and those without were determined by theχ2 test or the Fisher exact test(categorical variables)and independent group t test or Mann–Whitney U test(continuous variables).The Cox proportional hazard model and Generalized Estimating Equations were applied to evaluate factors that predicted the progression of COVID-19.Results: The mean incubation was 8.67(95%confidence interval,6.78–10.56)days.Mean duration from the first test severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2-positive to conversion was 11.38(9.86–12.90)days.Compared to pneumonia-free patients,pneumonia patients were 16.5 years older and had higher frequencies of having hypertension,fever,and cough and higher circulating levels of neutrophil proportion,interleukin-6,low count(<190/µl)of CD8+T cells,and neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio.Thirteen patients deteriorated during hospitalization.Cox regression analysis indicated that older age and higher serum levels of interleukin-6,C-reactive protein,procalcitonin,and lactate at admission significantly predicted the progression of COVID-19.During hospitalization,circulating counts of T lymphocytes,CD4+T cells,and CD8+T cells were lower,whereas neutrophil proportion,neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio,and the circulating levels of interleukin-6,C-reactive protein,and procalcitonin were higher,in pneumonia patients than in pneumonia-free patients.CD8+lymphocyte count in pneumonia patients did not recover when discharged.Conclusions: Older age and higher levels of C-reactive protein,procalcitionin,interleukin-6,and lactate might predict COVID-19 progression.T lymphocyte,especially CD8+cell-mediated immunity is critical in recovery of COVID-19.This study may help in predicting disease progression and designing immunotherapy for COVID-19. | Peng-Hui Yang Yi-Bo Ding Zhe Xu Rui Pu Ping U Jin Yan Ji-Luo Liu Fan-Ping Meng Lei Huang Lei Shi Tian-Jun Jiang En-Qiang Qin Min Zhao Da-Wei Zhang Peng Zhao Ling-Xiang Yu Zhao-Hai Wang Zhi-Xian Hong Zhao-Hui Xiao Qing Xi De-Xi Zhao Peng Yu Cai-Zhong Zhu Zhu Chen Shao-Geng Zhang Jun-Sheng Ji Fu-Sheng Wang Guang-Wen Cao | 2020 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2020,9,6: | 3 |

| 9 | Pseudomonas sp.TK35-L enhances tobacco root development and growth by inducing HRGPnt3 expression in plant lateral root formation显示文摘Rhizosphere colonization is a key requirement for the application of plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria(PGPR)as a bioferilizer.Signaling molecules are often exchanged between PGPR and plants,and genes in plants may respond to the action of PGPR.Here,the luciferase luxAB gene was electrotransformed into Pseudomonas sp.strain TK35,a PGPR with an afinity for tobacco,and the labelled TK35(TK35-L)was used to monitor colonization dynamics in the tobacco rhizosphere and evaluate the effects of colonization on tobacco growth and root development.The transcript levels of the hydroxyproline rich glycoprotein HRGPnt3 gene,a lateral root induction indicator,in tobacco roots were examined by qPCR.The results showed that TK35-L could survive for long periods in the tobacco rhizosphere and colonize new spaces in the tobacco rhizosphere following tobacco root extension,exhibiting significant increases in root development,seedling growth and potassium accumulation in tobacco plants.The upregulation of HRGPnt3 transcription in the inoculated tobacco suggested that TK35-L can promote tobacco root development by upregulating the transcript levels of the HRGPnt3 gene,which promotes tobacco seedling growth.These findings lay a foundation for future studies on the molecular mechanism underlying the plant growth-promoting activities of PGPR.Futhermore,this work provided an ideal potential strain for biofertilizer production. | CAO Yuan-yuan NI Hai-ting LI Ting LAY Khien-duc LIU Dai-song U Kang-miao TANG Xin-yun WANG Xiao-bo QIU Li-juan | 2020 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2020,19,10: | 2 |
