| 1 | Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. | 4 | Adsorption of 17β-estradiol from aqueous solution by raw and direct/pre/post-KOH treated lotus seedpod biochar显示文摘Five biochars derived from lotus seedpod(LSP)were applied to examine and compare the adsorption capacity of 17β-estradiol(E2)from aqueous solution.The effect of KOH activation and the order of activation steps on material properties were discussed.The effect of contact time,initial concentration,p H,ionic strength and humic acid on E2 adsorption were investigated in a batch adsorption process.Experimental results demonstrated that the pseudo second-order model fitted the experimental data best and that adsorption equilibrium was reached within 20 hr.The efficiency of E2 removal increased with increasing E2 concentration and decreased with the increase of ionic strength.E2 adsorption on LSP-derived biochar(BCs)was influenced little by humic acid,and slightly affected by the solution p H when its value ranged from 4.0 to 9.0,but considerably affected at p H 10.0.Low environmental temperature is favorable for E2 adsorption.Chemisorption,π–πinteractions,monolayer adsorption and electrostatic interaction are the possible adsorption mechanisms.Comparative studies indicated that KOH activation and the order of activation steps had significant impacts on the material.Post-treated biochar exhibited better adsorption capacity for E2 than direct treated,pretreated,and raw LSP biochar.Pyrolyzed biochar at higher temperature improved E2 removal.The excellent performance of BCs in removing E2 suggested that BCs have potential in E2 treatment and that the biochar directly treated by KOH would be a good choice for the treatment of E2 in aqueous solution,with its advantages of good efficiency and simple technology. | Ni Liu Yunguo Liu Guangming Zeng Jilai Gong Xiaofei Tan Jun Wen Shaobo Liu Luhua Jiang Meifang Li Zhihong Yin | 2020 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,1: | 4 |

| 6 | Gold-iridium bifunctional electrocatalyst for oxygen reduction and oxygen evolution reactions显示文摘Carbon supported gold-iridium composite(Au Ir/C) was synthesized by a facile one-step process and was investigated as the bifunctional catalyst for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) and oxygen evolution reaction(OER). The physical properties of the Au Ir/C composite were characterized by transmission electron microscopy(TEM), X-ray diffraction(XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). Although the Au and Ir in the Au Ir/C did not form alloy, it is clear that the introduction of Ir decreases the average Au particle size to 4.2 nm compared to that in the Au/C(10.1 nm). By systematical analysis on chemical state of metal surface via XPS and the electrochemical results, it was found that the Au surface for the Au/C can be activated by potential cycling from 0.12 V to 1.72 V, resulting in the increased surface roughness of Au,thus improving the ORR activity. By the same potential cycling, the Ir surface of the Ir/C was irreversibly oxidized, leading to degraded ORR activity but uninfluenced OER activity. For the Au Ir/C, Ir protects Au against being oxidized due to the lower electronegativity of Ir. Combining the advantages of Au and Ir in catalyzing ORR and OER, the Au Ir/C catalyst displays an enhanced catalytic activity to the ORR and a comparable OER activity. | 16 | Influence of sodium dodecyl sulfate coating on adsorption of methylene blue by biochar from aqueous solution显示文摘Biochar is regarded as a promising new class of materials due to its multifunctional character and the possibility of effectively coupling different properties. With increasing introduction into the environment, environmental chemicals such as surfactants will load onto the released biochar and change its physicochemical characteristics and adsorption behavior toward pollutants. In this study, sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS), as one type of anionic surfactant, was coated onto biochar with different loading amounts. The influence of SDS loading onto biochar's physicochemical properties were investigated by Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) spectroscopy, elemental analysis, zeta potential and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller(BET) surface area and pore size distribution analysis. Results showed that the pore size of the biochar decreased gradually with the increase of SDS loading because of the surface-adsorption and pore-blocking processes; the p H of the point of zero charge(pHPZC) decreased with increasing SDS loading. Although surface-coating with SDS decreased the pore size of the biochar, its adsorption capacity toward Methylene Blue(MB) significantly increased. The biochar-bound SDS introduced functional groups and negative charges to the biochar surface, which could thus enhance the adsorption of MB via hydrogen bonding and electrostatic interaction. | 18 | Filling the in situ-generated vacancies with metal cations captured by C-N bonds of defect-rich 3D carbon nanosheet for bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysis显示文摘Nitrogen-doped carbon materials with vacancies/defects have been developed as highly efficient ORR electrocatalysts but with poor activity for OER,which limits their application in rechargeable metal-air batteries.Filling the vacancies/defects with heteroatoms is expected to be an effective strategy to obtain surprising catalytic activities and improve their stability especially under the strongly oxidizing conditions during the OER process.Herein,we successfully transformed the defect-rich 3 D carbon nanosheets(DCN)into a bifunctional ORR/OER electrocatalyst(DCN-M)by utilizing the in-situ generated vacancies to capture metal cations via a modified salt-sealed strategy.By varying the metal(Fe,Ni)content,the captured metal cations in DCN-M existed in different chemical states,i.e.,metal atoms were stabilized by CàN bonds at low metal contents,while at high metal contents,bimetal particles were covered by graphene layers,taking responsibility for catalyzing the ORR and OER,respectively.In addition,the in-situ formed graphene layers with an interconnected structure facilitate the electron transport during the reactions.The Janus-feature of DCN-M in structures ensures superior bifunctional activity and good stability towards ORR/OER for the rechargeable Zn-air battery.This work provides an effective strategy to design multifunctional electrocatalysts by heteroatom filling into vacancies of carbon materials. | Dawei Chen Wei Cao Jing Liu Jie Wang Xiaoke Li Luhua Jiang | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,8: | 0 |
