1Special Section:SARS-CoV-2 Preliminary evidence from a multicenter prospective observational study of the safety and efficacy of chloroquine for the treatment of COVID-19显示文摘Effective therapies are urgently needed for the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.Chloroquine has been proved to have antiviral effect against coronavirus in vitro.In this study,we aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of chloroquine with different doses in COVID-19.In this multicenter prospective observational study,we enrolled patients older than 18 years old with confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection excluding critical cases from 12 hospitals in Guangdong and Hubei Provinces.Eligible patients received chloroquinephosphate s00 mg,orally,once(half dose)or twice(full dose)daily.Patients treated with non-chloroquine therapy were included as historical controls.The primary endpoint is the time to undetectable viral RNA.Secondary outcomes include the proportion of patients with undetectable viral RNA by day 10 and 14,hospitalization time,duration of fever,and adverse events.A total of 197 patients completed chloroquine treatment,and 176patients were included as historical controls.The median time to achieve an undetectable viral RNA was shorter in chloroquine than in non-chloroquine(absolute difference in medians-6.0 days;95%CI-6.0 to—4.0).The duration of fever is shorter in chloroquine(geometric mean ratio 0.6;95%CIO.5 to 0.8).No serious adverse events were observed in the chloroquine group.Patients treated with half dose experienced lower rate of adverse events than with full dose.Although randomized trials are needed for further evaluation,this study provides evidence for safety and efficacy of chloroquine in COVID-19 and suggests that chloroquine can be a cost-effective therapy for combating the COVID-19 pandemic.Mingxing Huang Man Li Fei Xiao Pengfei Pang Jiabi Liang Tiantian Tang Shaoxuan Liu Binghui Chen Jingxian Shu Yingying You Yang Li Meiwen Tang Jianhui Zhou Guanmin Jiang Jingfen Xiang Wenxin Hong Songmei He Zhaoqin Wang Jianhua Feng Changqing Lin Yinong Ye Zhilong Wu Yaocai Li Bei Zhong Ruilin Sun Zhongsi Hong Jing Liu Huili Chen Xiaohua Wang Zhonghe Li Duanqing Pei Lin Tian Jinyu Xia Shanping Jiang Nanshan Zhong Hong Shan 2020National Science Review2020,7,9:20

3Recent advances in periodontal regeneration: A biomaterial perspective显示文摘Periodontal disease(PD)is one of the most common inflammatory oral diseases,affecting approximately 47%of adults aged 30 years or older in the United States.If not treated properly,PD leads to degradation of periodontal tissues,causing tooth movement,and eventually tooth loss.Conventional clinical therapy for PD aims at eliminating infectious sources,and reducing inflammation to arrest disease progression,which cannot achieve the regeneration of lost periodontal tissues.Over the past two decades,various regenerative periodontal therapies,such as guided tissue regeneration(GTR),enamel matrix derivative,bone grafts,growth factor delivery,and the combination of cells and growth factors with matrix-based scaffolds have been developed to target the restoration of lost tooth-supporting tissues,including periodontal ligament,alveolar bone,and cementum.This review discusses recent progresses of periodontal regeneration using tissue-engineering and regenerative medicine approaches.Specifically,we focus on the advances of biomaterials and controlled drug delivery for periodontal regeneration in recent years.Special attention is given to the development of advanced bio-inspired scaffolding biomaterials and temporospatial control of multi-drug delivery for the regeneration of cementum-periodontal ligament-alveolar bone complex.Challenges and future perspectives are presented to provide inspiration for the design and development of innovative biomaterials and delivery system for new regenerative periodontal therapy.Yongxi Liang Xianghong Luan Xiaohua Liu 2020Bioactive Materials2020,5,2:17
4Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 5Allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T-cell immunotherapy exhibits promising clinical safety and prolongs the survival of patients with late-stage lung or liver cancer显示文摘Vγ9Vδ2 T cells are promising candidates for cellular tumor immunotherapy.Due to their HLA-independent mode of action,allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T cells can be considered for clinical application.To apply allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T cells in adoptive immunotherapy,the methodology used to obtain adequate cell numbers with optimal effector function in vitro needs to be optimized,and clinical safety and efficacy also need to be proven.Therefore,we developed a novel formula to improve the expansion of peripheralγδT cells from healthy donors.Then,we used a humanized mouse model to validate the therapeutic efficacy of expandedγδT cells in vivo;furthermore,the expandedγδT cells were adoptively transferred into late-stage liver and lung cancer patients.We found that the expanded cells possessed significantly improved immune effector functions,including proliferation,differentiation,and cancer cell killing,both in vitro and in the humanized mouse model.Furthermore,a phase I clinical trial in 132 late-stage cancer patients with a total of 414 cell infusions unequivocally validated the clinical safety of allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T cells.Among these 132 patients,8 liver cancer patients and 10 lung cancer patients who received≥5 cell infusions showed greatly prolonged survival,which preliminarily verified the efficacy of allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T-cell therapy.Our clinical studies underscore the safety and efficacy of allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T-cell immunotherapy,which will inspire further clinical investigations and eventually benefit cancer patients.Yan Xu Zheng Xiang Mohammed Alnaggar Léonce Kouakanou Jiawei Li Junyi He Jiashuang Yang Yi Hu Yan Chen Li Lin Jianlei Hao Jingxia Li Jibing Chen Man Li Qingling Wu Christian Peters Qinghua Zhou Jianshuang Li Yingqing Liang Xiaohua Wang Baohui Han Meili Ma Dieter Kabelitz Kecheng Xu Wenwei Tu Yangzhe Wu Zhinan Yin 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,2:8
6A new MODIS daily cloud free snow cover mapping algorithm on the Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Because of similar reflective characteristics of snow and cloud,the weather status seriously affects snow monitoring using optical remote sensing data.Cloud amount analysis during 2010 to 2011 snow seasons shows that cloud cover is the major limitation for snow cover monitoring using MOD10A1 and MYD10A1.By use of MODIS daily snow cover products and AMSR-E snow water equivalent products(SWE),several cloud elimination methods were integrated to produce a new daily cloud free snow cover product,and information of snow depth from 85 climate stations in Tibetan Plateau area(TP)were used to validate the accuracy of the new composite snow cover product.The results indicate that snow classification accuracy of the new daily snow cover product reaches 91.7% when snow depth is over 3 cm.This suggests that the new daily snow cover mapping algorithm is suitable for monitoring snow cover dynamic changes in TP.XiaoDong Huang XiaoHua Hao QiSheng Feng Wei Wang TianGang Liang 2014Research in Cold and Arid Regions2014,6,2:7

9The Medium Energy X-ray telescope (ME) onboard the Insight-HXMT astronomy satellite显示文摘The Medium Energy X-ray telescope(ME) is one of the three main telescopes on board the Insight hard X-ray modulation telescope(Insight-HXMT) astronomy satellite. ME contains 1728 pixels of Si-PIN detectors sensitive in 5-30 ke V with a total geometrical area of 952 cm^2. The application specific integrated circuit(ASIC) chip, VA32TA6, is used to achieve low power consumption and low readout noise. The collimators define three kinds of field of views(FOVs) for the telescope, 1°×4°, 4°×4°,and blocked ones. Combination of such FOVs can be used to estimate the in-orbit X-ray and particle background components.The energy resolution of ME is ~3 ke V at 17.8 ke V(FWHM) and the time resolution is 255 μs. 10The Belt and Road Initiative and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development:seeking linkages for global environmental governance显示文摘Global environmental cooperation serves as an important part in the Chinese ideal of building a Community with a Shared Future for all Human Beings. The report of 19 th CPC National Congress indicates that China is committed to proactive mitigation under the Paris Agreement and further participating in global environmental governance under the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and both of which are largely integrated to the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI). BRI are also closely linked with South-South environmental and climate cooperation proposed by China from previous UN summits. Based on shared ideas, intersected agendas, and compatible governance approaches, BRI and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development grow increasingly relevant and they might form synergies based on increasingly interactive relations. 11Effect of combined medicated thread moxibustion plus needle picking therapy of Zhuang nationality medicine on antioxidant levels in a rat model of sciatica显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect and underlying mechanisms of combined medicated thread moxibustion therapy plus needle picking therapy of Zhuang nationality medicine on antioxidant levels in a rat model of sciatica.METHODS: One hundred Wistar rats, of specific pathogen free level, were randomly divided into five groups: normal control group, model group,medicated thread moxibustion group, needle picking group, and combination group. Each group contained 20 rats. In the model, medicated thread moxibustion, needle picking, and combination groups,sciatica models were established through chronicconstriction injury of the sciatic nerve. After the model was established, the rats in the medicated thread moxibustion, needle picking, and combination groups were given the corresponding therapies for 21 days. The control and model groups received no treatment. Reactive oxygen species, superoxide dismutase, malondialdehyde, and total antioxidant capacity changes were determined.Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate(NADPH) oxidase subunit NADPH oxidases 4(NOX4) m RNA expression and the morphology of cells were observed to detect apoptosis of gamma-aminobutyric acid ergic(GABAergic) neurons.RESULTS: Compared with control group, reactive oxygen species and malondialdehyde levels rose significantly in the model group(P < 0.01), while superoxide dismutase and total antioxidant capacity levels were lowered(P < 0.05). Compared with the model group, reactive oxygen species and malondialdehyde decreased in the needle picking group(P < 0.05), while superoxide dismutase levels were increased(P < 0.05); reactive oxygen species and malondialdehyde significantly decreased in the combination group(P < 0.01). In addition, the model group had higher NOX4 m RNA expression than that of the control group(P < 0.05), and the combination group had lower expression levels than that of the model group(P < 0.05). 13Mn–Co–Ni–O thin films prepared by sputtering with alloy target显示文摘The thin film of heat-sensitive materials has been widely concerned with the current trend of miniaturization and integration of sensors.In this work,Mn1.56 Co0.96 Ni0.48 O4(MCNO)thin films were prepared on Si O2/Si substrates by sputtering with Mn–Co–Ni alloy target and then annealing in air at different temperatures(650–900℃).The X-ray diffraction(XRD)and field emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM)analysis indicated that the main crystalline phase of MCNO thin films was spinel crystal structure;the surface of the thin films was very dense and uniform.The electrical properties of the thin films were studied in the temperature range of–5–50℃.The MCNO thin film with a low room temperature resistance R25 of 71.1 kΩand a high thermosensitive constant B value of 3305 K was obtained at 750℃.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)analysis showed that the concentration of Mn3+and Mn4+cations in MCNO thin films is the highest when annealing temperature is 750℃.The complex impedance analysis revealed internal conduction mechanism of the MCNO thin film and the resistance of the thin film was dominated by grain boundary resistance.Ruifeng LI Qiuyun FU Xiaohua ZOU Zhiping ZHENG Wei LUO Liang YAN 2020Journal of Advanced Ceramics2020,9,1:3

15Preliminary results of the High Energetic Particle Package on-board the China Seismo-Electromagnetic Satellite显示文摘The high energetic particle package(HEPP) on-board the China Seismo-Electromagnetic Satellite(CSES) was launched on February 2, 2018. This package includes three independent detectors: HEPP-H, HEPP-L, and HEPP-X. HEPP-H and HEPP-L can detect energetic electrons from 100 keV to approximately 50 MeV and protons from 2 MeV to approximately 200 MeV. HEPP-X can measure solar X-rays in the energy range from 1 keV to approximately 20 keV. The objective of the HEPP payload was to provide a survey of energetic particles with high energy, pitch angle, and time resolutions in order to gain new insight into the space radiation environments of the near-Earth system. Particularly, the HEPP can provide new measurements of the magnetic storm related precipitation of electrons in the slot region, and the dynamics of radiation belts. 16Influence of CaZrO_3 on dielectric properties and microstructures of BaTiO_3-based X8R ceramics显示文摘The influences of CaZrO3 on the dielectric properties and microstructures of BaTiO3 (BT)-based ceramics have been investigated. The experiment results showed that the dielectric constant at room temperature increased with the addition of CaZrO3 in the range of 0―3.0 mol%, which could be explained by the growth of BT grains. XRD analysis revealed that the tetragonality declined as CaZrO3 concentration in-creased. XRD patterns of BT ceramics with different amounts of CaZrO3 doping were analyzed by a recently developed procedure-materials analysis using diffrac-tion (MAUD), which was based on the Rietveld method combined with Fourier analysis. The results depicted that the high temperature peak of tempera-ture-capacitance characteristics (TCC) was largely dependent on the micro-strain of samples. Furthermore, more CaZrO3 doping resulted in lower porosity and higher density. 17Overview to the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (Insight-HXMT) Satellite显示文摘As China’s first X-ray astronomical satellite, the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (HXMT), which was dubbed as Insight-HXMT after the launch on June 15, 2017, is a wide-band(1-250 ke V) slat-collimator-based X-ray astronomy satellite with the capability of all-sky monitoring in 0.2-3 Me V. 20Energetic particles’fluxes and dose in the Radiation Gene Box measured by space radiation detector onboard SJ-10 satellite显示文摘Background To evaluate the hazard of space radiation posing to the tissues,it is important to obtain exact fluxes of different radiation particles.The Radiation Gene Box(RGB)onboard SJ-10 spacecraft was an instrument designed to investigate the effects of space environment on the mESCs and drosophila.To derive the dose received by the tissues inside the RGB,the Space Radiation Detector(SRD)was installed inside it.Purpose The SRD was designed to derive the fluxes of electron,proton,hellion and gamma rays around it.If the type of the particles,the energies,the fluxes and the conversion coefficients are known,the dose received by the tissues could be evaluated.Methods The SRDwas designed as a △E-E solid-state telescope.By measuring the energy deposited in the three subdetectors,the particles’type and their energies could be discriminated.The data of SRDwere divided into 15 bins by the types of particles and their energy ranges.Results The gamma ray flux was higher than any other particle flux inside the RGB,and the electron was the most intense charge particle,while the helium ion was the most harmful radiation to the cells inside the RGB.Conclusion The dose rate inside the Radiation Gene Box was much higher than in the ground,but the integral dose of 12 days inside the RGB was about 2.13 mSv.It seemed unlikely to have obvious biological effects on the tissues of mice and drosophila.Xingzhu Cui Yaqing Liu Wenxi Peng Jinzhou Wang Min Gao Dongya Guo Xiaohua Liang Ruirui Fan Huanyu Wang Yunlong Zhang Zhongjian Ma Mingyang Yan Hong Xiao Yuanda Jiang Haiying Hang 2018Radiation Detection Technology and Methods2018,2,2:2
