| 1 | Seroepidemiology of Helicobacter pylori infection in elderly people in the Beijing region, China显示文摘AIM:To investigate seroepidemiology of cagA+and vacA+strains of Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)in an elderly population in Beijing and to determine risk factors for seropositivity.METHODS:A total of 2006 elderly persons(>60years)were selected using a random cluster sampling method in different parts of the Beijing area(urban,suburban and mountainous districts).Structured questionnaires were completed during home visits,including history of H.pylori infection,history of gastrointestinal diseases,diet types,hygiene habits,occupation and economic status.Blood samples(2 mL)were collected from each participant,and serum IgG antibodies to cagA,vacA and H.pylori urease antigens were measured by immunodetection.RESULTS:The prevalence of H.pylori infection in elderly subjects was 83.4%and the typeⅠH.pylori strain infection rate was 56%.The seroprevalence for typeⅠH.pylori strain infection in urban and suburbandistricts was higher than that in the mountainous areas(P<0.001).Elderly subjects who had previously performed manual labor or were in the young-old age group(age<75 years)had a higher seroprevalence of H.pylori infection than those who had previously performed mental labor or were in the oldest-old age group(age≥75 year)(P<0.05).The typeⅠH.pylori strain infection rate in the elderly with vegetarian diets was higher than in those eating high-protein foods(P<0.001).There was no significant difference in the prevalence of H.pylori strains between male and female elderly participants(P>0.05).CONCLUSION:TypeⅠH.pylori seroprevalence is higher in elderly people.The distribution of strains of H.pylori is significantly affected by age,area and dietary habits. | Mei Zhang Ying-Zhi Zhou Xiao-Ying Li Zhe Tang Hong-Ming Zhu Yan Yang Jagadish K Chhetri | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,13: | 17 |
| 2 | Prognostic analysis and comparison of colon cancer in Han and Hui patients显示文摘AIM:To investigate the relevant prognostic factors and their differences between colorectal cancer(CRC)patients of Chinese Han and Hui ethnicities in the Beijing region.METHODS:A retrospective analysis of 880 patients diagnosed with CRC at Xuanwu Hospital,Capital Medical University between September 2001 and September2011 was performed.Among the 880 patients,398 and482 were Hui and Han,respectively.Characteristics including sex,age,diet,tumor size,primary tumor site,Dukes’stage and degree of differentiation were analyzed for their influence on prognosis.Data on dietary structures were recorded through a questionnaire survey conducted during the patient’s first visit,return visit or follow-up checkups.RESULTS:Among patients with colon cancer,the5-year survival rate for patients of Hui ethnicity was lower than that for Han patients(P=0.025).Six risk factors(age of onset,dietary structure,tumor size,Dukes’stage,location of cancer and degree of differentiation)in both Han and Hui patients were identified as prognostic factors(P<0.05).Multivariate analysis showed that age of onset(P=0.002),diet(P=0.000),Dukes’stage(P=0.000)and degree of differentiation(P=0.000)are prognostic factors affecting both ethnic groups.Comparison of prognostic factors between Han and Hui patients with CRC showed that dietary structure was a statistically significant factor,and diet varied significantly between the two ethnic groups.CONCLUSION:Dietary structure has a significant influence on colon cancer prognosis among Han and Hui patients with colon cancer in Beijing,which may cause a difference in their survival rates. | Mei Zhang Qu-Chuan Zhao Yan-Peng Liu Lei Yang Hong-Ming Zhu Jagadish K Chhetri | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,17: | 6 |
| 3 | Enhanced ion conductivity and electrode–electrolyte interphase stability of porous Si anodes enabled by silicon nitride nanocoating for high-performance Li-ion batteries显示文摘Silicon (Si) is a promising anode material for next-generation high-energy lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) due to its high capacity.However,the large volumetric expansion,poor ion conductivity and unstable solid electrolyte interface (SEI) lead to rapid capacity fading and low rate performance.Herein,we report Si nitride (SiN) comprising stoichiometric Si_(3)N_(4) and Li-active anazotic SiN_(x) coated porous Si (p-Si@SiN)for high-performance anodes in LIBs.The ant-nest-like porous Si consisting of 3D interconnected Si nanoligaments and bicontinuous nanopores prevents pulverization and accommodates volume expansion during cycling.The Si_(3)N_(4) offers mechanically protective coating to endow highly structural integrity and inhibit superfluous formation of SEI.The fast ion conducting Li_(3)N generated in situ from lithiation of active SiN_(x) facilitates Li ion transport.Consequently,the p-Si@SiN anode has appealing electrochemical properties such as a high capacity of 2180 mAh g^(-1)at 0.5 A g^(-1) with 84%capacity retention after 200cycles and excellent rate capacity with discharge capacity of 721 mAh g^(-1) after 500 cycles at 5.0 A g^(-1).This work provides insights into the rational design of active/inactive nanocoating on Si-based anode materials for fast-charging and highly stable LIBs. | Shixiong Mei Siguang Guo Ben Xiang Jiaguo Deng Jijiang Fu Xuming Zhang Yang Zheng Biao Gao Paul K Chu Kaifu Huo | 2022 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,6: | 2 |
