1Single-cell RNA-seq data analysis on the receptor ACE2 expression reveals the potential risk of different human organs vulnerable to 2019-nCoV infection显示文摘It has been known that,the novel coronavirus,2019-nCoV,which is considered similar to SARS-CoV,invades human cells via the receptor angiotensin converting enzyme II(ACE2).Moreover,lung cells that have ACE2 expression may be the main target cells during 2019-nCoV infection.However,some patients also exhibit non-respiratory symptoms,such as kidney failure,implying that 2019-nCoV could also invade other organs.To construct a risk map of different human organs,we analyzed the single-cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq)datasets derived from major human physiological systems,including the respiratory,cardiovascular,digestive,and urinary systems.Through scRNA-seq data analyses,we identified the organs at risk,such as lung,heart,esophagus,kidney,bladder,and ileum,and located specific cell types(i.e.,type II alveolar cells(AT2),myocardial cells,proximal tubule cells of the kidney,ileum and esophagus epithelial cells,and bladder urothelial cells),which are vulnerable to 2019-nCoV infection.Based on the findings,we constructed a risk map indicating the vulnerability of different organs to 2019-nCoV infection.This study may provide potential clues for further investigation of the pathogenesis and route of 2019-nCoV infection.Xin Zou Ke Chen Jiawei Zou Peiyi Han Jie Hao Zeguang Han 2020Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,2:193
2A bioinspired high-modulus mineral hydrogel binder for improving the cycling stability of microsized silicon particle-based lithium-ion battery显示文摘Silicon with high specific capacity is deemed an ideal anode material for lithium ion batteries,which,however suffers from low cycling life due to its dramatic volume changes.Water-soluble polymer binders recently gain increasing attention by providing an eco-friendly and low-cost way in improving the cycling stability of Si-based anodes.Herein,a novel bioinspired supramolecular mineral hydrogel binder consisting of polyacrylic acid (PAA) physically crosslinked with amorphous calcium carbonate (ACC) nanoparticles is designed for high-performance anodes made from low-cost microsized Si particles.Owing to its organic-inorganic hydrophilic nature,ACC-PAA hybrid binder exhibits the reported highest modulus (~22 GPa) for polymer binders in electrolyte,even higher than lithiated Si species (Li15Si4,~12 GPa).Together with its excellent adhesion and electrochemical stability,ACC-PAA binder can effectively suppress the pulverization of Si particles and maintain the mechanical integrity of electrodes during cycling.Therefore,even with a low binder content,the anode still shows an initial discharge capacity of 2,973 mAh·g^-1 and Coulombic efficiency of 81.5%,and retains 75% at a current density of 600 mA·g^-1 after 100 cycles.The present organic-inorganic hybrid mineral binder may open a new approach for designing more effective polymer binders for Si-based lithium-ion batteries.Meng Tian Xiao Chen Shengtong Sun Dong Yang Peiyi Wu 2019Nano Research2019,12,5:9

4Preparation and Applications of Soybean Residue CNF Films显示文摘In this study, soybean residues were treated with HCl and soybean residue cellulose was extracted, which was used to prepare cellulose nanofiber (CNF) using the high-pressure homogenization method. The maximum yield of CNF, the reaction temperature, reaction time, and HCl concentration were optimized. The optimum HCl concentration for acid treatment was 6%, the reaction time was 60 min, the reaction temperature was 80℃, and the maximum yield of soybean residue cellulose was 78.8%. The different CNF films were then prepared;the color, mechanical property, and light transmittance of the CNF films were studied. Compared to the properties of the CNF film prepared with the soybean residue cellulose by high-pressure homogenization 15 times (HGT-15 film), the mechanical properties of the CNF film with soybean residue cellulose by decolorizing treatment decreased, but the light transmittance increased. The film prepared by adding HGT- 15 CNF to whey protein was investigated for its mechanical property, light transmittance, and solubility. Unlike the pure whey protein film, addition of 2.0% CNF to the whey protein enhanced the mechanical property and water vapor transmission rate (WVT) of the film. 7Environmental magnetic comparisons between distal and proximal sediments of Huangqihai Lake,Inner Mongolia,China显示文摘Spatial variations in lake sediments are a product of their depositional heterogeneities.To better correlate synchronous strata in Huangqihai Lake,two sections were excavated from the lake-center and the lake-shore.The study involved detailed lithology,mineralogy,and rock magnetic analysis.The results show that the frequency-dependent susceptibility,which is related to the content of super-paramagnetic minerals,is relatively easy to contrast between the two sections.However,mass susceptibility and saturation isothermal remanence,which are related to the content of total magnetic minerals,are difficult to contrast.A possible reason for this difference is that small-particle super-paramagnetic minerals are formed mainly during pedogenic processes,which correlates well with climate change and avoids the effects of local factors when corrections are made at the whole-lake scale.Both sections can be divided into three stages,which appear to be well correlated with previous results obtained through other environmental proxies.DONG Jin WANG Yong ZHANG ShiHong CHI ZhenQing YAO PeiYi ZHAO ZhiLi 2012Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,9:4
8Differences in atheroma between Caucasian and Asian subjects with anterior stroke:A vessel wall MRI study显示文摘Background and purpose While extracranial carotid artery stenosis is more common among Caucasians and intracranial artery stenosis is more common among Asians,the differences in atherosclerotic plaque characteristics have not yet been extensively examined.We sought to investigate plaque location and characteristics within extracranial carotid and intracranial arteries in symptomatic Caucasians and Chinese using vessel wall MRI.Methods Subjects with recent anterior circulation ischaemic stroke were recruited and imaged at two sites in the USA and China using similar protocols.Both extracranial carotid and intracranial arteries were reviewed to determine plaque location and characteristics.Results The prevalence of extracranial carotid plaque in Caucasians and Chinese was 73.1%and 49.1%,respectively(p=0.055).Prevalence of intracranial plaque was 38.5%and 69.1%in Caucasians and Chinese,respectively(p=0.02).Furthermore,42% of Caucasians and 16%of Chinese had high-risk plaque(HRP)features(intraplaque haemorrhage,luminal surface disruption)in the extracranial carotid artery(p=0.03).The prevalence of HRP features in intracranial arteries was not significantly different between the two cohorts(4%vs 11%;p=0.42).Conclusions Differences in the location and characteristics of cerebrovascular atherosclerosis were identified by vessel wall MRI in US Caucasian and Chinese subjects with recent anterior circulation ischaemic stroke.Extracranial carotid plaques with HRP features were more common in Caucasians.Intracranial plaques were more common in Chinese subjects,but no significant difference between the two cohorts in intracranial HRP prevalence was found.Larger studies using vessel wall imaging to investigate racial differences in cerebrovascular disease may inform underlying mechanisms of HRP development and may ultimately help guide appropriate therapy.Hiroko Watase Mi Shen Binbin Sui Peiyi Gao Dong Zhang Jie Sun Niranjan Balu Daniel S Hippe Gail P Jarvik Xihai Zhao Rui Li Shuo Chen Chun Yuan Thomas S Hatsukami 2021Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,1:4
9Effect of High Pressure Homogenization Treatment on Structure and Properties of Soybean Residue Cellulose Nanofibers显示文摘To reduce the adverse effects of non-cellulose materials on subsequent homogenization,the effects of a high-pressure homogenization treatment on the structure and properties of cellulose nanofibers(CNF)prepared by acid treatment of soybean residue were studied.The effects of the number of homogenization step on the microfibrillation degree,crystalline structure and mechanical properties of the soybean residue were analyzed by SEM,FT-IR,XRD,TG and DTG.The results showed that an increase in the number of homogenization steps led to an increase in the degree of microfibrillation,a more uniform distribution of the CNF diameter,and an increase in the crystallinity of CNF.However,but when the number of homogenization steps exceeded 15,the rate of change decreased,and the crystallinity of CNF decreased.As the number of homogenization steps increased,the average degree of polymerization and average molecular weight of CNF decreased continuously,and after 15 homogenization steps,their rate of change also decreased.Therefore,15 steps of high-pressure homogenization represented a suitable number of steps to prepare the soybean residue CNF with an average diameter of 15 nm.Peiyi Li Yumeng Wang Binyao Zhou Qingqing Hou Hezhen Liu Haozhe Lei Boxing Jian Xinping Li 2019Paper And Biomaterials2019,4,4:4

12An Edge-Boxes-Based Intruder Detection Algorithm for UAV Sense and Avoid System显示文摘With the great development of unmanned aircraft system(UAS)over the last decade,sense and avoid(SAA)system has been a crucial technology for integrating unmanned aircraft vehicle(UAV)into national airspace with reliable and safe operations.This paper mainly focuses on intruder detection for SAA system.A robust algorithm based on the combination of edge-boxes and spatial pyramid matching using sparse coding(sc-SPM)is presented.The algorithm is composed of three stages.First,edge-boxes method is adopted to obtain a large number of proposals;Second,the optimization program is presented to obtain intruder area-of-interest(ROI)regions;Third,sc-SPM is employed for feature representation of ROI regions and support vector machines(SVM)is adopted to detect the intruder.The algorithm is evaluated under different weather conditions.The recall reaches to 0.95 in dawn and sunny weather and 0.9 in cloudy weather.The experimental results indicate that the intruder detection algorithm is effective and robust with various weather under complex background.ZHANG Zhouyu CAO Yunfeng ZHONG Peiyi DING Meng HU Yunqiang 2019Transactions of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics2019,36,2:3
13Prediction of radiosensitivity in primary central nervous system germ cell tumors using dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging显示文摘Objective: To evaluate the feasibility of dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging(DCEMRI) for predicting tumor response to radiotherapy in patients with suspected primary central nervous system(CNS) germ cell tumors(GCTs).Methods: DCE-MRI parameters of 35 patients with suspected primary CNS GCTs were obtained prior to diagnostic radiation, using the Tofts and Kermode model. Radiosensitivity was determined in tumors diagnosed 2 weeks after radiation by observing changes in tumor size and markers as a response to MRI. Taking radiosensitivity as the gold standard, the cut-off value of DCE-MRI parameters was measured by receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve. Diagnostic accuracy of DCE-MRI parameters for predicting radiosensitivity was evaluated by ROC curve.Results: A significant elevation in transfer constant(Ktrans) and extravascular extracellular space(Ve)(P=0.000), as well as a significant reduction in rate constant(Kep)(P=0.000) was observed in tumors. Ktrans, relative Ktrans, and relative Kep of the responsive group were significantly higher than non-responsive groups. No significant difference was found in Kep, Ve, and relative Ve between the two groups. Relative Ktrans showed the best diagnostic value in predicting radiosensitivity with a sensitivity of 100%, specificity of 91.7%, positive predictive value(PPV) of 95.8%, and negative predictive value(NPV) of 100%.Conclusions: Relative Ktrans appeared promising in predicting tumor response to radiation therapy(RT). 18Facile Synthesis of NiFe_2O_4/Reduced Graphene Oxide Hybrid with Enhanced Electrochemical Lithium Storage Performance显示文摘In this work, a facile, one-pot route has been applied to synthesize nanohybrids based on mixed oxide Ni Fe2O4 and reduced graphene oxide(r GO). The hybrid is constructed by nanosized Ni Fe2O4 crystals confined by fewlayered r GO sheets. The formation mechanism and microstructure of the hybrids have been clarified by X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy.Electrochemical tests show that the performance of Ni Fe2O4 can be considerably improved by r GO incorporation. The performance improvement can be attributed to the two-dimensional conductive channels and the unique hybrid structure r GO constructed. 19Mechanoadaptive morphing gel electrolyte enables flexible and fast-charging Zn-ion batteries with outstanding dendrite suppression performance显示文摘The safe,flexible,and environment-friendly Zn-ion batteries have aroused great interests nowadays.Nevertheless,flagrant Zn dendrite uncontrollably grows in liquid electrolytes due to insufficient surface protection,which severely impedes the future applications of Zn-ion batteries especially at high current densities.Gel electrolytes are emerging to tackle this issue,yet the required high modulus for inhibiting dendrite growth as well as concurrent poor interfacial contact with roughened Zn electrodes are not easily reconcilable to regulate the fragile Zn/Zn^(2+) interface.Here we demonstrate,such a conflict may be defeated by using a mechanoadaptive cellulose nanofibril-based morphing gel electrolyte(MorphGE),which synergizes bulk compliance for optimizing interfacial contact as well as high modulus for suppressing dendrite formation.Moreover,by anchoring desolvated Zn^(2+) on cellulose nanofibrils,the side reactions which induce dendrite formation are also significantly reduced.As a result,the MorphGE-based symmetrical Zn-ion battery demonstrated outstanding stability for more than 100 h at the high current density of 10 mA·cm^(−2) and areal capacity of 10 mA·h·cm^(−2),and the corresponding Zn-ion battery delivered a prominent specific capacity of 100 mA·h·g^(−1) for more than 500 cycles at 20 C.The present example of engineering the mechanoadaptivity of gel electrolytes will shed light on a new pathway for designing highly safe and flexible energy storage devices.Faqing Cao Baohu Wu Tianyu Li Shengtong Sun Yucong Jiao Peiyi Wu 2022Nano Research2022,15,3:2
20Near-atomic structure of the inner ring of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae nuclear pore complex显示文摘Nuclear pore complexes(NPCs)mediate bidirectional nucleocytoplasmic transport of substances in eukaryotic cells.However,the accurate molecular arrangement of NPCs remains enigmatic owing to their huge size and highly dynamic nature.Here we determined the structure of the asymmetric unit of the inner ring(IR monomer)at 3.73Åresolution by single-particle cryo-electron microscopy,and created an atomic model of the intact IR consisting of 192 molecules of 8 nucleoporins.In each IR monomer,the Z-shaped Nup188–Nup192 complex in the middle layer is sandwiched by two approximately parallel rhomboidal structures in the inner and outer layers,while Nup188,Nup192 and Nic96 link all subunits to constitute a relatively stable IR monomer.In contrast,the intact IR is assembled by loose and instable interactions between IR monomers.These structures,together with previously reported structural information of IR,reveal two distinct interaction modes between IR monomers and extensive flexible connections in IR assembly,providing a structural basis for the stability and malleability of IR.Zongqiang Li Shuaijiabin Chen Liang Zhao Guoqiang Huang Xiong Pi Shan Sun Peiyi Wang Sen-Fang Sui 2022Cell Research2022,32,5:2
