2OsWRKY03, a rice transcriptional activator that functions in defense signaling pathway upstream of OsNPR1显示文摘WRKY family proteins are a class of plant specific transcription factors that involve in many stress response pathways. It has been shown that one Arabidopsis WRKY protein, AtWRKY29/22, is activated by MAP kinase signaling cascade and confers resistance to both bacterial and fungal pathogens. However, little is known about the biological roles of WRKY proteins in rice. In this study, we investigated the expression patterns of rice AtWRKY29/22 homolog, OsWRKY03, under different conditions, and also its possible role involved in plant defense. Our results showed that OsWRKY03 was up-regulated by several defense signaling molecules or different treatments. Further analysis revealed that the expres- sion of OsWRKY03 was light dependent. Transcriptional activation activity of OsWRKY03 was also demonstrated by yeast functional assay. Transient expression of OsWRKY03-GFP fusion protein in onion epidermis cells showed that OsWRKY03 was a nuclear localized protein. OsNPR1 as well as several other pathogenesis-related genes, such as OsPR1b, phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (ZB8) and peroxidase (POX22.3), were induced in OsWRKY03-overexpressing transgenic plants. 3Report on Childhood Obesity in China (9): Sugar-sweetened Beverages Consumption and Obesity显示文摘Objective To explore the associations between sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB) consumption and obesity as well as obesity-related cardiometabolic disorders among children in China. Methods A total of 6974 (boys 3558, girls 3412) children aged 6-13 years participated in the study. Each participant's height, weight, waist circumference, fasting glucose, triglycerides, total cholesterol, high- density lipoprotein cholesterol, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol were measured. The type of beverage consumption was determined using a self-administered questionnaire. Results SSBs were consumed regularly by 46.1% of the children. The prevalence [adjusted odds ratio (95% confidence internal (CI)] of obesity was 7.6% [as the reference group (ref.)], 10.1% [1.36(1.07, 1.74)], and 11.6% [1.46(1.21, 1.75)], among children who regularly drank milk, other beverages and SSBs, respectively. Regularly drinking SSBs elevated the likelihood of abdominal obesity [adjusted odds ratio (95% CI): 1.36 (1.17, 1.59)]. The prevalence [adjusted odds ratio (95% CI)] of obesity among children who regularly drank sports/caloric beverages, carbonated beverages, sweet tea, and plant protein beverages was 16.8% [2.00(1.31, 3.07)], 12.7% [1.52(1.23, 1.88)], 11.5% [1.52(1.18, 1.95)], and 10.4% [1.41(1.03, 1.94)], respectively, which was higher than that of regular milk drinkers [7.6 % (ref.)]. The prevalence [adjusted odds ratio (95% CI)] of abdominal obesity among children who regularly drank sweet tea, fruit/vegetable juices, and carbonated beverages was 17.7% [1.55(1.26, 1.90)], 16.2% [1.36(1.09, 1.70)], and 15.3% [1.24(1.03, 1.50)], respectively, which was much higher than that of regular milk drinkers [12.8% (ref.)]. Conclusions Regular SSB consumption was positively related to obesity and abdominal obesity. 6Effects and safety of Sinomenine in treatment of rheumatoid arthritis contrast to methotrexate: a systematic review and Meta-analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To systematically evaluate the curative clinical efficacy and safety of sinomenine(SIN) in treatment of rheumatoid arthritis(RA) in comparison to methotrexate(MTX).METHODS: We searched the China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, China Science and Technology Journal Database, Wanfang Database, Pubmed and Cochrane Library electronically up to August 31,2015, without language limitation. Only randomized controlled trials(RCTs) were included. Software Review Manager 5.3 was used for Meta-analysis.RESULTS: A total of 16 eligible studies within 1500RA patients were included. The meta-analysis indicated that on basis of MTX, SIN was more effective in total effective rate(P < 0.000 01). Besides, SIN alone versus MTX also showed advantages in RA therapy(P = 0.04) Taken together, adverse events occurred less frequently in combination of SIN and MTX than MTX alone(P < 0.0001), especially in digestive system(P < 0.000 01),while occurred more in dermato mucosal system with SIN treatment versus MTX(P = 0.02), and were similar for both remedies in nervous system(P = 0.12) and hematological system(P = 0.25).CONCLUTION: Compared to MTX, SIN had better clinical efficacy and relatively fewer adverse events in treatment of RA, especially when it was used together with MTX. 8Infection within 2 weeks before liver transplantation closely related to prognosis of posttransplant infection:A single-center retrospective observational study in China显示文摘Background:Infections still represent the main factors influencing morbidity and mortality following liver transplantation.This study aimed to evaluate the incidence and risk factors for infection and survival after liver transplantation.Methods:We retrospectively examined medical records in 210 liver recipients who underwent liver transplantation between April 2015 and October 2017 in our hospital.Clinical manifestations and results of pathogen detection test were used to define infection.We analyzed the prevalence,risk factors and prognosis of patients with infection.Results:The median follow-up was 214 days;the incidence of infection after liver transplantation was 46.7%(n=98)which included pneumonia(43.4%),biliary tract infection(21.9%),peritonitis(21.4%)and bloodstream infection(7.6%).Among the pathogens in pneumonia,the most frequently isolated was Acinetobacter baumanii(23.5%)and Klebsiella pneumoniae(21.2%).Model for end-stage liver disease(MELD)score(OR=1.083,95%CI:1.045–1.123;P<0.001),biliary complication(OR=4.725,95%CI:1.119–19.947;P=0.035)and duration of drainage tube(OR=1.040,95%CI:1.007–1.074;P=0.017)were independent risk factors for posttransplant infection.All-cause mortality was 11.0%(n=23).The prognostic factors for postoperative infection in liver recipients were prior-transplant infection,especially pneumonia within 2 weeks before transplantation.Kaplan-Meier curves of survival showed that recipients within 2 weeks prior infection had a significantly lower cumulative survival rate compared with those without infection(65.2%vs.90.0%;hazard ratio:4.480;P<0.001).Conclusions:Infection,especially pneumonia within 2 weeks before transplantation,complication with impaired renal function and MELD score after 7 days of transplantation was an independent prognostic factor for postoperative infection in liver transplant recipients.Yue Ying Rui-Dong Li Jing-Wen Ai Yi-Min Zhu Xian Zhou Yi-Yi Qian Xin-Chang Chen Xu-Yang Wang Hao-Cheng Zhang Yang Li Shan-Shan Weng Yi-Qi Yu Yi-Feng Tao Yu-Xian Huang Zheng-Xin Wang Wen-Hong Zhang 2020Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2020,19,4:7
9Adverse Effects of Exposure to Fine Particulate Matters and Ozone on Gestational Hypertension显示文摘Gestational hypertension(GH)is a common complication during pregnancy.GH is regarded as a potential public health challenge for pregnant women and infants.Limited evidence has linked ambient air pollution to an increased GH risk.However,most of the studies were conducted in developed countries,with inconsistent results obtained.The present study was performed to explore whether exposure to particulate matters with an aerodynamic diameter≤2.5(PM2.5)and ozone(O3)was related to elevated odds of GH in a Chinese population.This population-based cohort study involved 38115 pregnant women in Wuhan,China.All information was collected from the Wuhan Maternal and Child Health Management Information System,using standardized quality control.The daily air pollutant data for PM2.5 and O3 were obtained from the 20 monitoring stations of the Wuhan Environmental Monitoring Center during 2014.The nearest monitor approach was applied to individual exposure assessment of PM2.5 and O3 for each participant.After adjusting for major confounders and other air pollutants,a 10μg/m^3 increase in PM25 and O3 concentrations was found to correlate to a 1.14-fold[95%confidence interval(95%CI):1.09,1.20]and a 1.05-fold(95%CI:1.02,1.07)increase in GH risk,respectively.Additionally,stronger relationships between GH risk and PM25 and O3 exposure were observed in women who conceived in winter and summer,respectively.These findings suggest that air pollutants may contribute to the development of GH.Rong YANG Dan LUO Yi-ming ZHANG Ke HU Zheng-min QIAN Li-qin HU Long-jiao SHEN Hong XIAN Juliet Iwelunmor Su-rong MEI 2019Current Medical Science2019,39,6:7

12Efficacy of fire needle on acute gouty arthritis induced by monosodium urate in rats显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To explore the therapeutic effect and inflammatory mechanism of fire needles on gouty arthritis.METHODS:Sixty male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into four groups,that is,control group,the model group,the colchicine group,and the fire needle treatment group.Acute gouty arthritis was prepared by injection of monosodium urate in the ankle joint.The inflammation-related protein[toll-like receptor 4(TLR4),pyrin domain-containing protein 3(NLRP3),interleukin(IL)-1β,myeloid differentiation factor 88(My D88),nuclear factorkappa B(NF-κB),phosphorylated NF-κB(p-NF-κB),caspase-1,and p-caspase-1]in swollen tissues,the inflammation-related m RNAs indicators(TLR4,NLRP3,NF-κB,and caspase-1)and the inflammatory factors[IL-1β,IL-6,IL-8,tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),and C-reactive protein(CRP)]in the serum were detected by Western blot,real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction,and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,respectively.RESULTS:The fire needle treatment could reduce joint swelling,increase mechanical pain threshold and decrease the inflammation index score in the fire needle treatment group.It could also significantly decreased the protein expression of IL-1β,TLR4,My D88,p-NF-κB and NLRP3 in joint tissue,markedly downregulated the m RNA levels of TLR4 and NLRP3 in joint tissue,and significantly reduce serum levels of IL-1β,IL-6,IL-8,TNF-α,and CRP.CONCLUSION:The fire needle treatment had positive effect of treating gouty arthritis,and its underlying mechanism might be associated with NF-κB activation and related inflammatory response.CHEN Hua ZHOU Gexuan HE Xiaojin GUO Feng CHEN Jianmei QIAN Xian 2021Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2021,41,4:4
13Comparison study of slag corrosion resistance of MgO–MgAl_(2)O_(4),MgO–CaO and MgO–C refractories under electromagnetic field显示文摘To illuminate the corrosion behavior of MgO-based refractories under electromagnetic field(EMF),herein,the slag corrosion and penetration resistance of MgO–MgAl_(2)O_(4),MgO–CaO,and MgO–C refractories were investigated using the rotary immersion slag resistance test at 1873 K for 1 h.The results showed that the order of the good slag resistance of as-tested refractories was MgO–C>MgO–CaO>MgO–MgAl_(2)O_(4).The EMF accelerated the corrosion and penetration of slag to the refractories,which caused the molten slag to be easier into the refractories by natural convection and Marangoni effect.In addition,the MgO–C refractories did not show an overwhelming advantage in slag resistance because EMF impeded the formation of the dense protection layer.Consequently,in view of the present results,the MgO–C refractories are still the most promising slag line material for refining furnace among MgO–MgAl_(2)O_(4),MgO–CaO,and MgO–C refractories.Xin‑ming Ren Bei‑yue Ma Shi‑ming Li Hong‑xia Li Guo‑qi Liu Wen‑gang Yang Fan Qian Shi‑xian Zhao Jing‑kun Yu 2021Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2021,28,1:4

The main purpose of establishing wetland protected area is to protect biodiversity, and the protection of ecosystem diversity and landscape diversity is the key to protect biodiversity. In order to protect regional ecosystem and landscape, it is a good way to establish wetland comprehensive protected area which connected wetland nature reserves by habitat corridors. 15Ceramide from sphingomyelin hydrolysis differentially mediates mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) activation following cerebral ischemia in rat hippocampal CA1 subregion显示文摘Objective:To explore the role that ceramide plays in the activation of mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) during cerebral ischemia and reperfusion. Methods: Rats were subjected to ischemia by the four-vessel occlusion (4-VO) method. The sphingomyelinase inhibitor TPCK was administered to the CA1 subregion of the rat hippocampus before inducing ischemia. Western blot was used to examine the activity of extracellular-signal regulated kinase (ERK) and c-Jun N-terminal protein kinase (JNK) using antibodies against ERK, JNK and diphosphorylated ERK and JNK. Results: At 1h reperfusion post-ischemia, JNK reached its peak activity while ERK was undergoing a sharp inactivation (P<0.05). The level of diphosphorylated JNK was significantly reduced but the sharp inactivation of ERK was visibly reversed (P<0.05) by the sphingomyelinase inhibitor. Conclusion: The ceramide signaling pathway is up-regulated through sphingomyelin hydrolysis in brain ischemia, promoting JNK activation and suppressing ERK activation, culminating in the ischemic lesion.Xian Sun 2010The Journal of Biomedical Research2010,24,2:3
16Efficacy and mechanism of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor drugs for diabetic macular edema patients显示文摘BACKGROUND Diabetes is a serious public health concern in China,with 30%of patients developing retinopathy,and diabetic macular edema(DME)having the biggest impact on vision.High blood glucose level can cause retinal cell hypoxia,thus promoting vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)formation and increasing vascular permeability,which induces DME.Moreover,cell hypoxia can accelerate the rate of apoptosis,which leads to the aging of patients.In severe cases,optic cell apoptosis or retinal fibrosis and permanent blindness may occur.AIM To investigate and compare the efficacy,mechanism,and differences between two anti-VEGF drugs(Compaq and ranibizumab)in DME patients.METHODS Ninety-six patients with DME who attended our hospital from April 2018 to February 2020 were included and randomly divided into two groups(Compaq group and ranibizumab group).The groups received vitreal cavity injections of 0.5 mg Compaq and 0.5 mg ranibizumab,respectively,once a month.The best corrected visual acuity(BCVA),intraocular pressure(IOP),macular retinal thickness(CMT),macular choroidal thickness(SFCT),foveal no perfusion area(FAZ),superficial capillary density,deep capillary density,treatment effect,and adverse reactions were compared before and after treatment and between the two groups.RESULTS Before treatment and 1-mo post-treatment,there was no statistically significant difference in the estimated BCVA in both groups(P>0.05).BCVA decreased in the Compaq group 3 mo after treatment,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Before treatment,and 1 mo and 3 mo post-treatment,there was no statistically significant difference in the estimated IOP in either group(P>0.05).Before treatment and 1-mo post-treatment,there was no statistically significant difference in the estimated CMT,SFCT,or FAZ in either group(P>0.05).CMT and SFCT values decreased in the Compaq group 3 mo post-treatment,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Before treatment,and 1 mo and 3 mo post-treatment,there were no statistically significant differences in vascular density in the shallow or deep capillary plexi of the fovea,parafovea,or overall macular area between the two groups(P>0.05).Marked efficient,effective,and invalid rates were 70.83%and 52.08%,27.08%and 39.58%,and 2.08%and 8.33%in the Compaq and ranibizumab groups,respectively.The differences between the two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Anti-VEGF drugs can effectively improve CMT and SFCT,without affecting microcirculation,thus providing an effective and safe treatment for patients with DME.Yun-Fei Li Qian Ren Chao-Hui Sun Li Li Hai-Dong Lian Rui-Xue Sun Xian Su Hua Yu 2022World Journal of Diabetes2022,13,7:3
17First light for the sodium laser guide star adaptive optics system on the Lijiang 1.8 m telescope显示文摘A first generation sodium Laser Guide Star Adaptive Optics System(LGS-AOS) was developed and integrated into the Lijiang 1.8 m telescope in 2013. The LGS-AOS has three sub-systems:(1) a 20 W long pulsed sodium laser,(2) a 300-millimeter-diameter laser launch telescope, and(3) a 37-element compact adaptive optics system. On 2014 January 25, we obtained high resolution images of an mV8.18 star,HIP 43963, during the first light of the LGS-AOS.
