1A promising new class of irradiation tolerant materials:Ti_2ZrHfV_(0.5)Mo_(0.2) high-entropy alloy显示文摘Recently, high-entropy alloys(HEAs) or multi-principal-element alloys with unprecedented physical,chemical, and mechanical properties, have been considered as candidate materials used in advanced reactors due to their promising irradiation resistant behavior. Here, we report a new single-phase bodycentered cubic(BCC) structured Ti_2 ZrHfV_(0.5)Mo_(0.2) HEA possessing excellent irradiation resistance, i.e.,scarcely irradiation hardening and abnormal lattice constant reduction after helium-ion irradiation,which is completely different from conventional alloys. This is the first time to report the abnormal XRD phenomenon of metallic alloys and almost no hardening after irradiation. These excellent properties make it to be a potential candidate material used as core components in next-generation nuclear reactors. 2The potential mechanism, recognition and clinical significance of tumor pseudoprogression after immunotherapy显示文摘As immunotherapy has gained increasing interest as a new foundation for cancer therapy,some atypical response patterns,such as pseudoprogression and hyperprogression,have garnered the attention of physicians.Pseudoprogression is a phenomenon in which an initial increase in tumor size is observed or new lesions appear,followed by a decrease in tumor burden;this phenomenon can benefit patients receiving immunotherapy but often leads to premature discontinuation of treatment owing to the false judgment of progression.Accurately recognizing pseudoprogression is also a challenge for physicians.Because of the extensive attention on pseudoprogression,significant progress has been made.Some new criteria for immunotherapy,such as irRC,iRECIST and imRECIST,were proposed to accurately evaluate the response to immunotherapy.Many new detection indexes,such as ctDNA and IL-8,have also been used to identify pseudoprogression.In this review,the definition,evaluation criteria,mechanism,monitoring,management and prognosis of pseudoprogression are summarized,and diagnostic and treatment processes for patients with progression but with a suspicion of pseudoprogression are proposed;these processes could be helpful for physicians in clinical practice and enhances the understanding of pseudoprogression.Wenxiao Jia Qianqian Gao Anqin Han Hui Zhu Jinming Yu 2019Cancer Biology & Medicine2019,16,4:14

5Application of Fengyun-4 Satellite to Flood Disaster Monitoring through a Rapid Multi-Temporal Synthesis Approach显示文摘Fengyun-4 A(FY-4 A) belongs to the second generation of geostationary meteorological satellite series in China. Its observations with high frequency and resolution provide a better data basis for monitoring of extreme weather such as sudden flood disasters. In this study, the flood disasters occurred in Bangladesh, India, and some other areas of South Asia in August 2018 were investigated by using a rapid multi-temporal synthesis approach for the first time for removal of thick clouds in FY-4 A images. The maximum between-class variance algorithm(OTSU;developed by Otsu in 2007) and linear spectral unmixing methods are used to extract the water area of flood disasters. The accuracy verification shows that the water area of flood disasters extracted from FY-4 A is highly correlated with that from the high-resolution satellite datasets Gaofen-1(GF-1) and Sentinel-1 A, with the square correlation coefficient R2 reaching 0.9966. The average extraction accuracy of FY-4 A is over 90%. With the rapid multi-temporal synthesis approach used in flood disaster monitoring with FY-4 A satellite data, advantages of the wide coverage, fast acquisition,and strong timeliness with geostationary meteorological satellites are effectively combined. Through the synthesis of multi-temporal images of the flood water body, the influence of clouds is effectively eliminated, which is of great significance for the real-time flood monitoring. 7Doxorubicin-conjugated pH-responsive gold nanorods for combined photothermal therapy and chemotherapy of cancer显示文摘Cancer chemotherapy can be hindered by drug resistance which leads to lower drug efficiency.Here,we have developed a drug delivery system that tethers doxorubicin to the surface of gold nanorods via a pHsensitive linkage(AuNRs@DOX),for a combined photothermal and chemical therapy for cancer.First,AuNRs@DOX is ingested by HepG2 liver cancer cells.After endocytosis,the acidic pH triggers the release of doxorubicin,which leads to chemotherapeutic effects.The gold nanorods are not only carriers of DOX,but also photothermal conversion agents.In the presence of an 808 nm near-infrared laser,AuNRs@DOX significantly enhance the cytotoxicity of doxorubicin via the photothermal effect,which induces elevated apoptosis of hepG2 cancer cells,leading to better therapeutic effects in vitro and in vivo.Jin Chen Xiao Li Xinlian Zhao QianQian Wu Huihui Zhu Zhengwei Mao Changyou Gao 2018Bioactive Materials2018,3,3:5

9Macrophage membrane-coated nanocarriers Co-Modified by RVG29 and TPP improve brain neuronal mitochondria-targeting and therapeutic efficacy in Alzheimer's disease mice显示文摘Neuronal mitochondrial dysfunction caused by excessive reactive oxygen species(ROS)is an early event of sporadic Alzheimer's disease(AD),and considered to be a key pathologic factor in the progression of AD.The targeted delivery of the antioxidants to mitochondria of injured neurons in brain is a promising therapeutic strategy for AD.A safe and effective drug delivery system(DDS)which is able to cross the blood-brain barrier(BBB)and target neuronal mitochondria is necessary.Recently,bioactive materials-based DDS has been widely investigated for the treatment of AD.Herein,we developed macrophage(MA)membrane-coated solid lipid nanoparticles(SLNs)by attaching rabies virus glycoprotein(RVG29)and triphenylphosphine cation(TPP)molecules to the surface of MA membrane(RVG/TPP-MASLNs)for functional antioxidant delivery to neuronal mitochondria.According to the results,MA membranes camouflaged the SLNs from being eliminated by RESrich organs by inheriting the immunological characteristics of macrophages.The unique properties of the DDS after decoration with RVG29 on the surface was demonstrated by the ability to cross the BBB and the selective targeting to neurons.After entering the neurons in CNS,TPP further lead the DDS to mitochondria driven by electric charge.The Genistein(GS)-encapsulated DDS(RVG/TPP-MASLNs-GS)exhibited the most favorable effects on reliveing AD symptoms in vitro and in vivo by the synergies gained from the combination of MA membranes,RVG29 and TPP.These results demonstrated a promising therapeutic candidate for delaying the progression of AD via neuronal mitochondria-targeted delivery by the designed biomimetic nanosystems.Yang Han Chunhong Gao Hao Wang Jiejie Sun Meng Liang Ye Feng Qianqian Liu Shiyao Fu Lin Cui Chunsheng Gao Yi Li Yang Yang Baoshan Sun 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,2:4
10Jiangtang Xiaoke granule attenuates glucose metabolism disorder via regulating endoplasmic reticulum stress in the liver of type 2 diabetes mellitus mice显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect of Jiangtang Xiaoke(JTXK) granule on endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress in high fat diet(HFD)-induced type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2 DM) KK-Ay mice.METHODS:KK-Ay mice were fed with HFD to induce the T2 DM model,while normal control C57 BL/6 J mice were given standard feed.Fasting blood glucose(FBG) in all mice was measured weekly and oral glucose tolerance tests(OGTTs) were performed at 4 and 10 weeks after start of treatment to determine glucose metabolism.Serum fasting insulin(FINS) and insulin sensitivity index(ISI) were measured to determine insulin sensitivity.m RNA expressions of eukaryotic initiation factor-2 alpha(e IF2α),glucose regulated protein 78(GRP78),activating transcription factor 4(ATF4),and C/EBP homology protein(CHOP) were assessed by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and the protein expressions of p-e IF2α,GRP78,and CHOP were assessed by Western blotting.RESULTS:JTXK granule significantly reduced FBG and free fatty acid levels and improved OGTT at the120 min of the 10-week treatment in T2 DM KK-Ay mice.FINS and Hb Alc levels were reduced and insulin sensitivities were increased in KK-Ay diabetic mice,which were improved with the treatment of JTXK granule,especially at the 7 and 3.5 g/kg doses.JTXK granule at the 3.5 g/kg dose was most effective in reducing both gene and protein expressions of e IF2α,GRP78,and CHOP.CONCLUSION:ER stress response is increased in T2 DM KK-Ay mice.Treatment with JTXK granule attenuates glucose disorders,improves insulin sensitivity,and reduces serum FFA in T2 DM KK-Ay mice.The mechanisms may be attributed to regulation of the signaling ER stress pathway via decreasing e IF2α phosphorylation and suppressing e IF2α-ATF4-CHOP activation.Zhang Yi Mo Fangfang Zhang Dongwei Gao Sihua Zhao Dandan Yu Na Mu Qianqian Zuo Jiacheng Ma Yue 2018Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2018,38,4:3

12A novel heat-resistant Al–Si–Cu–Ni–Mg base material synergistically strengthened by Ni-rich intermetallics and nano-AlN_p microskeletons显示文摘In this work, nano-AlN particle(nano-AlN_p) microskeletons were introduced into an Al–Si–Cu–Ni–Mg alloy by Al–8 AlN master alloy in which the nano-AlN_p reinforcements connect with each other to form three-dimensional networks. It is found that these nano-AlN_p microskeletons mainly distribute in the binary Al–Si eutectic zones resulting in flaky eutectic Si phases being modified to particulates. Meanwhile,the microskeletons strengthen the matrix synergistically with semi-continuous Ni-rich intermetallics in three dimensions. The tensile mechanical properties, micro-hardness and thermal expansion properties of the alloy at different temperatures are significantly improved. 13Carrier-free highly drug-loaded biomimetic nanosuspensions encapsulated by cancer cell membrane based on homology and active targeting for the treatment of glioma显示文摘Nanosuspensions,as a new drug delivery system for insoluble drugs,are only composed of a drug and a small amount of stabilizer,which is dispersed in an aqueous solution with high drug-loading,small particle size,high dispersion,and large specific surface area.It can significantly improve the dissolution,bioavailability,and efficacy of insoluble drugs.In this study,paclitaxel nanosuspensions((PTX)NS)were prepared by an ultrasonic precipitation method,with the characteristics of simple preparation and easy repetition.With the help of a homologous targeting mechanism,a kind of glioma C6 cancer cell membrane(CCM)-coated(PTX)NS was developed and modified with DWSW peptide to obtain DWSW-CCM-(PTX)NS with the functions of BBB penetration and tumor targeting.The results showed that the cancer cell membrane could effectively camouflage the nanosuspensions so that it was not cleared by the immune system and could cross the blood-brain-barrier(BBB)and selectively target tumor tissues.Cell uptake experiments and in vivo imaging confirmed that the uptake of DWSW-CCM-(PTX)NS by tumor cells and the distribution in intracranial gliomas increased.Cytotoxicity test and in vivo anti-glioma studies showed that DWSW-CCM-(PTX)NS could significantly inhibit the growth of glioma cells and significantly prolong the survival time of glioma-bearing mice.Finally,the cancer cell membrane coating endowed the nanosuspensions with the biological properties of homologous adhesion and immune escape.This study provides an integrated solution for improving the targeting of nanosuspensions and demonstrates the encouraging potential of biomimetic nanosuspensions applicable to tumor therapy.Yueyue Fan Yuexin Cui Wenyan Hao Mengyu Chen Qianqian Liu Yuli Wang Meiyan Yang Zhiping Li Wei Gong Shiyong Song Yang Yang Chunsheng Gao 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,12:3
14Unbalanced omega-6/omega-3 ratio in red meat products in China显示文摘Dietary meats play a crucial role in human health.The objective of this survey was to determine the fatty acid content and omega-6/omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids(n-6/n-3 PUFA)ratio of fresh red meat(beef and pork)from four cities(Shanghai,Nanjing,Yinchuan and Hohhot)in China.The results showed that the n-6/n-3 PUFA ratio from all the samples ranged from 6 to 23.The total n-6 PUFA concentrations ranged from 290.54 mg/100g in beef from Nanjing to 1601.48 mg/100 g in pork from Hohhot,whereas the total concentrations of n-3 PUFA ranged from 46.34 mg/100 g in beef from Nanjing to 96.03 mg/100 g in pork from Nanjing.The results indicated that the n-6/n-3 ratio in the red meat from all four regions is unbalanced and is much higher than that(<5:1)recommended by the WHO/FAO.The total amount of n-3 PUFA was far lower than the required daily dose.Therefore,potential solutions to increase the n-3 PUFA content in meat products or to provide alternative source of n-3PUFA should be explored.Ming Yu Qianqian Gao Yan Wang Wei Zhang Lin Li Ying Wang Yifan Dai 2013The Journal of Biomedical Research2013,27,5:2

16In situ growth of a-few-layered MoS_(2)on CdS nanorod for high efficient photocatalytic H_(2)production显示文摘An ultrathin MoS_(2)was grown on CdS nanorod by a solid state method using sulfur powder as sulfur source for photocatalytic H_(2)production.The characterization result reveals that the ultrathin MoS_(2)nanosheets loaded on CdS has a good contact state.The photoelectrochemical result shows that MoS_(2)not only are beneficial for charge separation,but also works as active sites,thus enhancing photocatalytic activity.Compared with pure CdS,the photocatalytic activity of MoS_(2)loaded CdS was significantly improved.The hydrogen evolution rate on m(MoS_(2)):m(CdS)=1:50(m is mass)reaches 542μmol/h,which is 6 times of that on pure CdS(92μmol/h).This work provides a new design for photocatalysts with high photocatalytic activities and provides a deeper understanding of the effect of MoS_(2)on enhancing photocatalytic activity.Wei CHEN Xiang LIU Shaojie WEI Qianqian HENG Binfen WANG Shilong LIU Li GAO Liqun MAO 2021Frontiers in Energy2021,15,3:1
17Natural Polyphenol Inspired Polycatechols for Efficient siRNA Delivery显示文摘There is a continuing quest to rationally fabricate polymeric biomaterials with both high transfection efficiency and minimal toxicity for the emerging opportunities in small interfering RNA(siRNA)delivery.Recently,this goal was promoted highly by developing a robust and efficient strategy to facilitate polymer-mediated RNAi using natural polyphenols with multiple phenol groups that could condense siRNA effectively into negatively charged nanoparticles(NPs).Further coating of these NPs with cationic polymers of low molecular weight enabled their intracellular siRNA delivery.Inspired by the structural and functional features of natural polyphenols,we aimed to further the development of low molecular weight polycatechols as a new class of efficient and biocompatible polymers for siRNA delivery in our current study.The fabricated polycatechols have benefits of requiring only one-step fabrication toward efficient siRNA nanoformulations.Moreover,they could deliver siRNA into cells and silence target genes both in vitro and in vivo.The resulting polycatechol/siRNA formulations were also functionally competent,demonstrating a successful,profound downregulation of a proinflammatory enzyme to attenuate chronic intestinal inflammation in an intestinal injury model.This study provides a new approach in chemistry for the development of efficient synthetic polymers for therapeutic siRNA delivery.Wanwan Shen Ruojun Wang Qianqian Fan Xiao Gao Hui Wang Yang Shen Yiwen Li Yiyun Cheng 2020CCS Chemistry2020,2,3:1

19Quasi-Spherical Brookite TiO_2 Nanostructures Synthesized Using Solvothermal Method in the Presence of Oxalic Acid显示文摘Brookite TiO_2,the latest TiO_2 photocatalyst,promises to be an interesting candidate for photocatalytic applications because of its unique physical and chemical properties. In this study,pure-phase brookite TiO_2 with a quasi-spherical nanostructure was successfully synthesized via a solvothermal method using tetrabutyl titanate(Ti(OC_4H_9)_4,TBOT) as the Ti source in the presence of oxalic acid. NaOH was used to regulate the pH of solution. The structure and morphology of the samples were then analyzed using multiple methods,such as X-ray diff raction(XRD),Raman spectroscopy,scanning electron microscopy(SEM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),Brunauer–Emmett–Teller(BET) measurements and ultraviolet–visible diff use spectroscopy(UV–Vis). Photocatalytic activities of the as-synthesized brookite TiO_2 were evaluated by degrading aqueous methylene blue solution under UV light irradiation. The effect of thermal treatment temperature on photocatalytic activity of the samples was also investigated. The produced brookite TiO_2 nanopowders calcined at 500 °C for 2 h showed the highest photocatalytic activity,and the corresponding degradation rate of methylene blue(10 mg/L) reached 96.7% after 90 min of illumination. In addition,the formation mechanism of pure-phase brookite TiO_2 was investigated.
