1Ten cities cross-sectional questionnaire survey of children asthma and other allergies in China显示文摘Asthma,rhinitis and eczema(allergic or non-allergic)have increased throughout the world during the last decades,especially among children.Changes in the indoor environment are suspected to be important causes.China has experienced a dramatic change in indoor environmental exposures during the past two decades.However,such changes and their associations with children’s asthma and other health aspects have not been thoroughly studied.China,Children,Homes,Health(CCHH),Phase I,was a cross-sectional questionnaire survey of 48219 children 1–8 years old in 10 Chinese cities during 2010–2012.The questionnaire includes the International Study of Asthma and Allergies in Childhood(ISAAC)core health questions and additional questions regarding housing,life habits and outdoor environment.In health analyses,children aged 3–6 years old were included.The prevalences of doctor diagnosed asthma varied from 1.7%to 9.8%(mean 6.8%),a large increase from 0.91%in 1999 and 1.50%in2000.The prevalence of wheeze,rhinitis and atopic eczema(last 12 months)varied from 13.9%to 23.7%,24.0%to 50.8%and4.8%to 15.8%,respectively.Taiyuan had the lowest prevalences of all illnesses and Shanghai the highest,except for wheezewhere the highest value was for Urumqi.We found(1)no obvious association between disease prevalences and ambient PM10concentrations and(2)higher prevalences of disease in humid climates with hot summers and cold winters,but with no centrally heated buildings.Associations between the diseases and economic status as indexed by Gross Domestic Product(GDP)requires further study.ZHANG YinPing LI BaiZhan HUANG Chen YANG Xu QIAN Hua DENG QiHong ZHAO ZhuoHui LI AnGui ZHAO JiaNing ZHANG Xin QU Fang HU Yu YANG Qin WANG Juan ZHANG Ming WANG Fang ZHENG XiaoHong LU Chan LIU ZhiJian SUN YueXia MO JinHan ZHAO YiLi LIU Wei WANG TingTing NORBCK Dan BORNEHAG Carl-Gustaf SUNDELL Jan 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,34:22
2RNA-binding protein LIN28B inhibits apoptosis through regulation of the AKT2/FOXO3A/BIM axis in ovarian cancer cells显示文摘LIN28B is an evolutionarily conserved RNA-binding protein that regulates mRNA translation and miRNA let-7 maturation in embryonic stem cells and developing tissues.Increasing evidence demonstrates that LIN28B is activated in cancer and serves as a critical oncogene.However,the underlying molecular mechanisms of LIN28B function in tumorigenesis are still largely unknown.Here we report that LIN28B was expressed in over half of the patients with epithelial ovarian cancer who were examined(n=584).Functional experiments demonstrated that LIN28B inhibited ovarian cancer cell apoptosis.Furthermore,we showed that the proapoptotic factor BIM played an essential role in the antiapoptotic function of LIN28B.RNA-IP microarray analysis suggested that LIN28B binds to mRNAs that are associated with the DNA damage pathway,such as AKT2,in ovarian cancer cells.By binding to AKT2 mRNA and enhancing its protein expression,LIN28B regulated FOXO3A protein phosphorylation and decreased the transcriptional level of BIM,which antagonized the antiapoptosis activity of LIN28B.Taken together,these results mechanistically linked LIN28B and the AKT2/FOXO3A/BIM axis to the apoptosis pathway.The findings may have important implications in the diagnosis and therapeutics of ovarian cancer.Xiaojuan Lin Jianfeng Shen Dan Peng Xinhong He Congjian Xu Xiaojun Chen Janos LTanyi Kathleen Montone Yi Fan Qihong Huang Lin Zhang Xiaomin Zhong 2018Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2018,3,1:8
3A photocleavable low molecular weight hydrogel for light-triggered drug delivery显示文摘A photocleavable low-molecular-weight hydrogelator (LMWG) was synthesized based on coumarin derivative.~1H NMR and UV spectroscopy study suggested that the gelator had good gelling ability, and the driving force for the gelation were hydrogen bonding and π-π stacking. This molecular hydrogel exhibited satisfied photocleavage at C-N bond in 7-amino coumarin with the light irradiation (365 nm,77.5 mW/cm^2). 14Effect of controlled-release urea on heavy metal mobility in a multimetal-contaminated soil显示文摘Controlled-release N fertilizers can affect the availability of heavy metals in the contaminated paddy soil.A soil incubation experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of prilled urea(PU),S-coated urea(SCU),and polymer-coated urea(PCU)on the solubility and availability of heavy metals Cd,Pb,Cu,and Zn in a multimetal-contaminated soil.The results showed that the application of different coated urea significantly affected the solubility and availability of heavy metals.At 5 d of incubation,the application of PU,SCU,and PCU had significantly decreased the concentrations of water-soluble and available Cd,Pb,Cu,and Zn,when compared with the control.At 60 d of incubation,the depletory effects of PU on water-soluble and available heavy metals had reduced,and the initial decrease in the concentrations of water-soluble Cd,Pb,Cu,and Zn caused by SCU had changed to an increase.The concentrations of water-soluble Pb,Cu,and Zn in the SCU-treated soil were higher than those in the control.Application with PCU led to a higher water-soluble Cu than that in the control,while the available Cd,Pb,and Zn were lower than those in the control.The effect of different coated urea was much stronger on the water solubility of the heavy metals than on their availability.The effects of controlled-release urea on the transformation of heavy metals resulted in changes in the concentrations of NH4^+,water-soluble SO4^2-,and soil p H.The results further suggested that PCU could be used in dry farming operations in multimetal-contaminated acid soils.Chao XU Qian XIANG Qihong ZHU Hanhua ZHU Daoyou HUANG Yangzhu ZHANG 2020Pedosphere2020,30,2:0

16The archaeal KEOPS complex possesses a functional Gon7 homolog and has an essential function independent of the cellular t^(6)A modification level显示文摘Kinase,putative Endopeptidase,and Other Proteins of Small size(KEOPS)is a multisubunit protein complex conserved in eukaryotes and archaea.It is composed of Pcc1,Kae1,Bud32,Cgi121,and Gon7 in eukaryotes and is primarily involved in N^(6)-threonylcarbamoyl adenosine(t^(6)A)modification of transfer RNAs(tRNAs).Recently,it was reported that KEOPS participates in homologous recombination(HR)repair in yeast.To characterize the KEOPS in archaea(aKEOPS),we conducted genetic and biochemical analyses of its encoding genes in the hyperthermophilic archaeon Saccharolobus islandicus.We show that aKEOPS also possesses five subunits,Pcc1,Kae1,Bud32,Cgi121,and Pcc1-like(or Gon7-like),just like eukaryotic KEOPS.Pcc1-like has physical interactions with Kae1 and Pcc1 and can mediate the monomerization of the dimeric subcomplex(Kae1-Pcc1-Pcc1-Kae1),suggesting that Pcc1-like is a functional homolog of the eukaryotic Gon7 subunit.Strikingly,none of the genes encoding aKEOPS subunits,including Pcc1 and Pcc1-like,can be deleted in the wild type and in a t^(6)A modification complementary strain named TsaKI,implying that the aKEOPS complex is essential for an additional cellular process in this archaeon.Knock-down of the Cgi121 subunit leads to severe growth retardance in the wild type that is partially rescued in TsaKI.These results suggest that aKEOPS plays an essential role independent of the cellular t^(6)A modification level.In addition,archaeal Cgi121 possesses dsDNA-binding activity that relies on its tRNA 3ʹCCA tail binding module.Our study clarifies the subunit organization of archaeal KEOPS and suggests an origin of eukaryotic Gon7.The study also reveals a possible link between the function in t^(6)A modification and the additional function,presumably HR.Pengju Wu Qi Gan Xuemei Zhang Yunfeng Yang Yuanxi Xiao Qunxin She Jinfeng Ni Qihong Huang Yulong Shen 2023mLife2023,2,1:0
17Identifying Transportation Modes from Raw GPS Data显示文摘Raw Global Positioning System (GPS) data can provide rich context information for behaviour understanding and transport planning. However, they are not yet fully understood, and fine-grained identification of transportation mode is required. In this paper, we present a robust framework without geographic information, which can effectively and automatically identify transportation modes including car, bus, bike and walk. Firstly, a trajectory segmentation algorithm is designed to divide raw GPS trajectory into single mode segments. Secondly, several modern features are proposed which are more discriminating than traditional features. At last, an additional postprocessing procedure is adopted with considering the wholeness of trajectory.
