1Randomized controlled trial of uncut Roux-en-Y vs Billroth Ⅱ reconstruction after distal gastrectomy for gastric cancer: Which technique is better for avoiding biliary reflux and gastritis?显示文摘AIM To identify which technique is better for avoiding biliary reflux and gastritis between uncut Roux-en-Y and Billroth Ⅱ reconstruction. METHODS A total of 158 patients who underwent laparoscopyassisted distal gastrectomy for gastric cancer at the First Hospital of Jilin University(Changchun, China) between February 2015 and February 2016 were randomized into two groups: uncut Roux-en-Y(group U) and Billroth II group(group B). Postoperative complications and relevant clinical data were compared between the two groups. RESULTS According to the randomization table, each group included 79 patients. There was no significant difference in postoperative complications between groups U and B(7.6% vs 10.1%, P = 0.576). During the postoperative period, group U stomach p H values were lower than 7 and group B p H values were higher than 7. After 1 year of follow-up, group B presented a higher incidence of biliary reflux and alkaline gastritis. However, histopathology did not show a significant difference in gastritis diagnosis(P = 0.278), and the amount of residual food and gain of weight between the groups were also not significantly different. At 3 mo there was no evidence of partial recanalization of uncut staple line, but at 1 year the incidence was 13%. CONCLUSION Compared with Billroth II reconstruction, uncut Rouxen-Y reconstruction is secure and feasible, and can effectively reduce the incidence of alkaline reflux, residual gastritis, and heartburn. 2An Investigation of Oxidative DNA Damage in Pharmacy Technicians Exposed to Antineoplastic Drugs in Two Chinese Hospitals Using The Urinary 8-OHdG Assay显示文摘Objective To investigate oxidative DNA damage in pharmacy technicians preparing antineoplastic drugs at the PIVAS (Pharmacy Intravenous Admixture Service) in two Chinese hospitals.Methods Urinary 8-OHdG served as a biomarker.5-Fluorouracil (5-FU) concentrations in air,masks and gloves were determined.The spill exposure of each PIVAS technician to antineoplastic drugs was investigated.Eighty subjects were divided into exposed group I,II,and control group I,II.Results 5-FU concentration ratios for gloves and masks in exposed group I were significantly higher than those in exposed group II (P<0.05 or P<0.01).The average urinary 8-OHdG concentrations in exposed group I,control group I,exposed group II,and control group II were 14.69±0.93,10.68±1.07,10.57±0.55,and 11.96±0.73 ng/mg Cr,respectively.Urinary 8-OHdG concentration in exposed group I was significantly higher than that in control group I or that in exposed group II (P<0.01).There was a significant correlation between urinary 8-OHdG concentrations and spill frequencies per technician (P<0.01).Conclusion There was detectable oxidative DNA damage in PIVAS technicians exposed to antineoplastic drugs.This oxidative DNA damage may be associated with their spill exposure experience and contamination of their personal protective equipment.HUANG Yu Wen JIAN Le ZHANG Mei Bian ZHOU Quan YAN Xiao Feng HUA Xu Dong ZHOU Ying HE Ji Liang 2012Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,1:30

6A miniature liquid helium temperature JT cryocooler for space application显示文摘Along with the development of space science and technology,miniature liquid helium temperature long life cryocooler is a focus subject in cryogenic study.Since it is the precondition of space detection researches,institutions of space in many countries do the research on it.In this article,we designed a compound cooling system.A three-stage high frequency thermal coupled pulse tube cryocooler was used to precool a Joule-Thomson(JT)cryocooler.This system has no moving parts at low temperatures and is hence suitable for space operation.Liquid helium temperature was successfully achieved in both open loop and closed cycle experiments.In the closed cycle experiment,when 473 W electric power was inputted,the cooling system reached a no-load temperature of 4.4 K,and a cooling capacity of 11.6 mW was provided at 4.54 K.It is the first miniature liquid helium temperature JT cryocooler in China and the research achievement paves a way for the space application of ultra-long wave infrared detection and THz technologies.QUAN Jia ZHOU ZhenJun LIU YanJie LI JianGuo MA YueXue LIANG JingTao 2014Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,11:16
7Surgical approaches for stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ thymoma-associated myasthenia gravis:feasibility of complete video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) thymectomy in comparison with trans-sternal resection显示文摘Complete resection could be achieved in virtually all myasthenic patients with Masaoka stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ thymoma using the trans-sternal technique.Whether this is appropriate for minimally invasive approach is not yet clear.We evaluated the feasibility of complete video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) thymectomy for the treatment of Masaoka stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ thymoma-associated myasthenia gravis,compared to conventional trans-sternal thymectomy.We summarized 33 patients with Masaoka stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ thymoma-associated myasthenia gravis between April 2006 and September 2011.Of these,15 patients underwent right-sided complete VATS (the VATS group) by using adjuvant pneuomomediastinum,comparing with 18 patients using the trans-sternal approach (the T3b group).No intraoperative death was found and no VATS case required conversion to median sternotomy.Significant differences between the two groups regarding duration of surgery and volume of intraoperative blood loss (P=0.001 and P < 0.001,respectively) were observed.Postoperative morbidities were 26.7% and 33.3% for the VATS and T3b groups,respectively.All 33 patients were followed up for 12 to 61 months in the study.The cumulative probabilities of reaching complete stable remission and effective rate were 26.7% (4/15) and 93.3% (14/15) in the VATS group,which had a significantly higher complete stable remission and effective rate than those in the T3b group (P=0.026 and P=0.000,respectively).We conclude that VATS thymectomy utilizing adjuvant pneuomomediastinum for the treatment of stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ thymoma-associated myasthenia gravis is technically feasible but deserves further investigation in a large series with long-term follow-up.Zhicheng He Quan Zhu Wei Wen Liang Chen Hai Xu Hai Li 2013The Journal of Biomedical Research2013,27,1:15
8Large-scale analysis of small RNAs derived from traditional Chinese herbs in human tissues显示文摘Plant-derived microRNAs have recently been reported to function in human blood and tissues. Controversy was immediately raised due to possible contamination and the lack of large sample sizes. Here, we report thousands of unique small RNAs derived from traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) herbs found in human blood cells and mouse lung tissues using a large-scale analysis.We extracted small RNAs from decoctions of 10 TCM plants(Ban Zhi Lian, Chai Hu, Chuan Xin Lian, Di Ding Zi Jin, Huang Qin, Jin Yin Hua, Lian Qiao, Pu Gong Ying, Xia Ku Cao, and Yu Xing Cao) and obtained millions of RNA sequences from each herb. We also obtained RNA-Seq data from the blood cells of humans who consumed herbal decoctions and from the lung tissues of mice administered RNAs from herbal decoctions via oral gavage. We identified thousands of unique small RNA sequences in human blood cells and mouse lung tissues. Some of these identified small RNAs from Chuan Xin Lian and Hong Jing Tian could be mapped to the genomes of the herbs, confirming their TCM plant origin. 94 K high frequency pulse tube cryocooler used for terahertz space application显示文摘Terahertz(THz) frequency region, defined from0.1 to 10 THz, is an important frequency band for radio astronomy and atmospheric science. As NbN Superconductor-Insulator-Superconductor(SIS) mixers used for terahertz detection, which are studied by the Purple Mountain Observatory(PMO), Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS), work at 8–10 K, and require condition of micro vibrations, its astronomical observation in aerospace is limited by suitable refrigeration method. 4 K high frequency pulse tube cryocooler developed by Key Laboratory of Space Energy Conversion Technologies(SECT), Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry(TIPC), CAS, offers an opportunity for the application of SIS mixers. This article introduces the progress of the two-stage high frequency pulse tube cryocooler researched by TIPC. The cryocooler has reached a no load temperature of 4.5 K which is the lowest temperature for this kind of cryocooler reported so far. 12Impact of dissolved organic matter on the photolysis of the ionizable antibiotic norfloxacin显示文摘Norfloxacin(NOR), an ionizable antibiotic frequently used in the aquaculture industry, has aroused public concern due to its persistence, bacterial resistance, and environmental ubiquity.Therefore, we investigated the photolysis of different species of NOR and the impact of a ubiquitous component of natural water — dissolved organic matter(DOM), which has a special photochemical activity and normally acts as a sensitizer or inhibiter in the photolysis of diverse organics; furthermore, scavenging experiments combined with electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR) were performed to evaluate the transformation of NOR in water. The results demonstated that NOR underwent direct photolysis and self-sensitized photolysis via hydroxyl radical(U OH) and singlet oxygen(1O2) based on the scavenging experiments. In addition, DOM was found to influence the photolysis of different NOR species, and its impact was related to the concentration of DOM and type of NOR species. Photolysis of cationic NOR was photosensitized by DOM at low concentration, while zwitterionic and anionic NOR were photoinhibited by DOM, where quenching of U OH predominated according to EPR experiments, accompanied by possible participation of excited triplet-state NOR and1O2. Photo-intermediate identification of different NOR species in solutions with/without DOM indicated that NOR underwent different photodegradation pathways including dechlorination, cleavage of the piperazine side chain and photooxidation, and DOM had little impact on the distribution but influenced the concentration evolution of photolysis intermediates. 13Recent progress in engineering near-infrared persistent luminescence nanoprobes for time-resolved biosensing/bioimaging显示文摘Persistent luminescence nanoprobes (PLNPs) can remain luminescent after ceasing excitation.Due to the ultra-long decay time of persistent luminescence (PersL),autofluorescence interference can be efficiently eliminated by collecting PersL signal after autofluorescence decays completely,thus the imaging contrast and sensing sensitivity can be significantly improved.Since near-infrared (NIR) light shows reduced scattering and absorption coefficient in penetrating biological organs or tissues,near-infrared persistent luminescence nanoprobes (NIR PLNPs) possess deep tissue penetration and offer a bright prospect in the areas of in vivo biosensing/bioimaging.In this review,we firstly summarize the design of different types of NIR PLNPs for biosensing/bioimaging,such as transition metal ions-doped NIR PLNPs,lanthanide ions-doped NIR PLNPs,organic molecules-based NIR PLNPs,and semiconducting polymer self-assembled NIR PLNPs.Notably,organic molecules-based NIR PLNPs and semiconductor self-assembled NIR PLNPs,for the first time,were introduced to the review of PLNPs.Secondly,the effects of different types of charge carriers on NIR PersL and luminescence decay of NIR PLNPs are significantly emphasized so as to build up an in-depth understanding of their luminescence mechanism.It includes the regulation of valence band and conduction band of different host materials,alteration of defect types,depth and concentration changes caused by ion doping,effective radiation transitions and energy transfer generated by different luminescence centers.Given the design and potential of NIR PLNPs as long-lived luminescent materials,the current challenges and future perspective in this rapidly growing field are also discussed.Ling Liang Na Chen Yiyi Jia Qinqin Ma Jie Wang Quan Yuan Weihong Tan 2019Nano Research2019,12,6:11
14Effect of High Suspension and Low Incision Surgery Based on Traditional Ligation of Chinese Medicine in Treatment of Mixed Haemorrhoids:A Multi-centre,Randomized,Single-Blind,Non-inferiority Clinical Trial显示文摘Objective:To observe the clinical effect of high suspension and low incision(HSLI)surgery on mixed haemorrhoids,compared with Milligan-Morgan haemorrhoidectomy.Methods:A multi-centre,randomized,singleblind,non-inferiority clinical trial was performed.Participants with mixed haemorrhoids from Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences,Beijing Rectum Hospital,Air Force Medical Center of People's Liberation Army of China,and Puyang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were enrolled from September 2016 to March 2018.By using a blocked randomization scheme,participants were assigned to two groups.The experimental group was treated with HSLI,while the control group was treated with Milligan-Morgan haemorrhoidectomy.The primary outcome was the clinical effect evaluated at 12 weeks after operation.The secondary outcomes included the number of haemorrhoids treated during the operation,pain scores,use of analgesics,postoperative oedema,wound healing,incidence of anal stenosis,anorectal manometry after operation,as well as surgical duration,length of stay and total hospitalization expenses.A safety evaluation was also conducted.Results:In total,246 eligible participants were enrolled,with 123 cases in each group.There was no significant difference in the clinical effect between the two groups(100.00% vs.99.19%,P>0.05).Compared with the control group,the number of external haemorrhoids treated during the operation and the pain scores after operation were significantly reduced in the experimental group(P<0.05 or P<0.01);the patient number with wound healing at 2 weeks after operation and the functional length of anal canal at 12 weeks after operation were significantly increased in the experimental group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of anal stenosis,the numbers of patients using analgesics and patients with postoperative oedema between the two groups after operation(P>0.05).The surgical duration and length of stay in the experimental group were significantly longer than those in the control group,and the total hospitalization expense was significantly higher than that in the control group(all P<0.05).No adverse events were reported in either group during the whole trial or follow-up period.Conclusion:HSLI had the advantages of preserving the skin of anal canal completely,alleviating postsurgical pain and promoting rapid recovery after operation.(Registration No.Chi CTR1900022883).JIA Xiao-qiang CAO Wei-wei QUAN Long-fang ZHAO Wei-bing CHENG Fang JIA Shan FENG Liu-quan WEI Xu-feng XIE Zhen-nian WANG Dong XU Chun-yan CUI Chun-hui CAI Xing-juan HE Lan-ye WANG Zhan-jun TIAN Ying SHI Shu-min SUN Si-miao SU Liang ZHAI Meng-fan 2021Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2021,27,9:11

16Development of the Transitional Care Model for nursing care in China's Mainland:A literature review显示文摘Background:The Transitional Care Model(TCM)for nursing care has yet to be implemented in China despite its success in Western countries.However,rapid social changes have demanded an upgrade in the quality of nursing care;in 2010,the Chinese government has acknowledged the need to implement the TCM in China.Objective:This study has the following objectives:(1)perform a thorough review of the literature regarding the development and implementation of the TCM in China's Mainland within the past 5 years;(2)provide a comprehensive discussion of the current status,problems,and strategies related to the implementation of the TCM in China's Mainland;and(3)suggest strategies pertaining to the future of the TCM in China.Design:The current pertinent literature is systematically reviewed.Data sources:Systematic and manual searches in computerized databases for relevant studies regarding the TCM led to the inclusion of 26 papers in this review.Review methods:Abstracts that satisfied the inclusion criteria were reviewed independently by the two authors of this manuscript,and discrepancies were resolved through discussion.The same reviewers independently assessed the paper in its entirety for selected abstracts.Results:The present English literature reviewrevealed a paucity of updated information about the development and implementation of the TCM in China's Mainland.Nevertheless,the dramatic growth of the TCM in the past 5 years has had a vital impact within the society and in nursing development.This review also revealed numerous issues regarding the focus of the TCM.Overall implications for practiceandrecommendations for future researchare discussed.Conclusion:Despite the potential of this nursing model to have a successful and beneficial impact in China's Mainland,it remains an under-researched topic.Further research on education and training as well as premium policies for nurses under the TCM are needed.Zeng-Jie Ye Mei-Ling Liu Rui-Qing Cai Mei-Xia Zhong Hui Huang Mu-Zhi Liang Xiao-Ming Quan 2016International Journal of Nursing Sciences2016,3,1:10
17Population Genomic Analysis and De Novo Assembly Reveal the Origin of Weedy Rice as an Evolutionary Game显示文摘Crop weediness,especially that of weedy rice(Oryza sativa f.spontanea),remains mysterious.Weedy rice possesses robust ecological adaptability;however,how this strain originated and gradually formed proprietary genetic features remains unclear?Here,we demonstrate that weedy rice at Asian high latitudes(WRAH)is phylogenetically well defined and possesses unselected genomic characteristics in many divergence regions between weedy and cultivated rice.We also identified novel quantitative trait loci underlying weedy-specific traits,and revealed that a genome block on the end of chromosome 1 is associated with rice weediness.To identify the genomic modifications underlying weedy rice evolution,we generated the first de novo assembly of a high-quality weedy rice genome(WR04-6),and conducted a comparative genomics study between WR04-6 with other rice reference genomes.Multiple lines of evidence,including the results of demographic scenario comparisons,suggest that differentiation between weedy rice and cultivated rice was initiated by genetic improvement of cultivated rice and that the essence of weediness arose through semi-domestication.A plant height model further implied that the origin of WRAH can be modeled as an evolutionary game and indicated that strategy-based selection driven by fitness shaped its genomic diversity.Jian Sun Dianrong Ma Liang Tang Minghui Zhao Guangchen Zhangh Wenjia Wang Jiayu Song Xiang Li Zimeng Liu Wenxing Zhang Quan Xu Yuncheng Zhou Jianzhong Wu Toshio Yamamoto Fei Dai Yan Lei Song Li Gang Zhou Hongkun Zheng Zhengjin Xu Wenfu Chen 2019Molecular Plant2019,12,5:9

19Effects of dietary supplementation with essential oils and protease on growth performance,antioxidation,inflammation and intestinal function of weaned pigs显示文摘This experiment evaluated the impacts of essential oils(EO)and protease(PRO),independently or in combination,on growth performance,antioxidation,inflammation and intestinal function of weaned pigs.One hundred and sixty weaned pigs(21 d of age,BW of 6.74±0.20 kg)were randomly divided into 4 treatments with 8 replicate pens of 5 pigs per pen.Dietary treatments included the following:1)control diet(CON),2)CON with 300 mg/kg essential oils(EO),3)CON with 500 mg/kg protease(PRO),4)CON with 300 mg/kg essential oil and 500 mg/kg protease(EO + PRO).On d 8,one pig from each penwas selected for sampling.The remaining pigs were fed for an additional week and growth performance was monitored during this period.Dietary treatments had no marked effects(P>0.05)on the growth performance of pigs.However,pigs receiving EO diet had higher(P<0.05)serumglutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)activity,and tended to decrease(P=0.063)serum concentration of tumor necrosis factor-a(TNF-a).In addition,pigs receiving EO diet had higher(P<0.05)abundances of phylum Actinobacteria,and genera Bifidobacterium,and lower(P<0.05)phylum Bacteroidetes and genera Alloprevotella in colonic digesta.Pigs receiving PRO diet decreased(P<0.05)the serum concentration of malondialdehyde(MDA)and diamine oxidase activity,increased(P<0.05)the villus height and the ratio of villus height to crypt depth in duodenum,increased sucrase activity in jejunal mucosa,and also increased the abundance of phylum Actinobacteria in colonic digesta.Furthermore,the synergistic effects of EO and PROwas observed(P<0.05)for pigs with decreasing serum TNF-a concentration and increasing serum GSH-Px activity.Collectively,the results indicated that dietary supplementation of EO and PRO had no significant effects on growth performance of weaned pigs.EO diet appeared to improve antioxidant activity and intestinal microbiota,while PRO diet improved intestinal morphology and digestive enzyme activity,and there was a synergistic effect of EO and PRO on reducing inflammatory parameters in weaned pigs.Xie Peng Qiang Zhou Cheng Wu Jian Zhao Quan Tan Ying He Liang Hu Zhengfeng Fang Yan Lin Shengyu Xu Bin Feng Jian Li Yong Zhuo Chris Van Ginneken Xuemei Jiang De Wu Lianqiang Che 2022Animal Nutrition2022,,2:8
20Curcumenol triggered ferroptosis in lung cancer cells via lncRNA H19/miR-19b-3p/FTH1 axis显示文摘Curcumenol,an effective ingredient of Wenyujin,has been reported that exerted its antitumor potential in a few cancer types.However,the effect and molecular mechanism of curcumenol in lung cancer are largely unknown.Here,we found that curcumenol induced cell death and suppressed cell proliferation in lung cancer cells.Next,we demonstrated that ferroptosis was the predominant method that contributed to curcumenol-induced cell death of lung cancer in vitro and vivo for the first time.Subsequently,using RNA sequencing,we found that the long non-coding RNA H19(lncRNA H19)was significantly downregulated in lung cancer cells treated with curcumenol,when compared to untreated controls.Overexpression of lncRNA H19 eliminated the anticancer effect of curcumenol,while lncRNA H19 knockdown promoted ferroptosis induced by curcumenol treatment.Mechanistically,we showed that lncRNA H19 functioned as a competing endogenous RNA to bind to miR-19b-3p,thereby enhanced the transcription activity of its endogenous target,ferritin heavy chain 1(FTH1),a marker of ferroptosis.In conclusion,our data show that the natural product curcumenol exerted its antitumor effects on lung cancer by triggering ferroptosis,and the lncRNA H19/miR-19b-3p/FTH1 axis plays an essential role in curcumenol-induced ferroptotic cell death.Therefore,our findings will hopefully provide a valuable drug for treating lung cancer patients.Ruonan Zhang Ting Pan Yu Xiang Mingming Zhang Han Xie Zimao Liang Bi Chen Cong Xu Jing Wang Xingxing Huang Qianru Zhu Ziming Zhao Quan Gao Chengyong Wen Wencheng Liu Weirui Ma Jiao Feng Xueni Sun Ting Duan Elaine Lai-Han Leung Tian Xie Qibiao Wu Xinbing Sui 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,7:8
