| 3 | Major advances in studies of the physical geography and living environment of China during the past 70 years and future prospects显示文摘The natural environment provides material essentials for human survival and development. The characteristics,processes, regional differentiation and forcing mechanisms of the elements of the natural environment(e.g. geomorphology,climate, hydrology, soil, etc.) are the main objects of research in physical geography. China has a complex natural environment and huge regional differentiation and therefore it provides outstanding reserach opportunities in physical geography. This review summarizes the most important developments and the main contributions of research in the physical geography and human living environment in China during the past 70 years. The major topics addressed are the uplift of the Tibetan Plateau and the evolution of its cryosphere, the development of fluvial systems, the acidification of the vast arid region of the Asian interior, variations in the monsoon and westerly climate systems on multiple timescales, the development of lakes and wetlands, the watershed system model, soil erosion, past human-environment interactions, biogeography, and physical geographic zonality. After briefly introducing international research developments, we review the history of research in physical geography in China, focusing on the major achievements and major academic debates, and finally we summarize the status of current research and the future prospects. | 6 | Two Ultraviolet Radiation Datasets that Cover China显示文摘Ultraviolet(UV) radiation has significant effects on ecosystems, environments, and human health, as well as atmospheric processes and climate change. Two ultraviolet radiation datasets are described in this paper. One contains hourly observations of UV radiation measured at 40 Chinese Ecosystem Research Network stations from 2005 to 2015. CUV3 broadband radiometers were used to observe the UV radiation, with an accuracy of 5%, which meets the World Meteorology Organization's measurement standards. The extremum method was used to control the quality of the measured datasets. The other dataset contains daily cumulative UV radiation estimates that were calculated using an all-sky estimation model combined with a hybrid model. The reconstructed daily UV radiation data span from 1961 to 2014. The mean absolute bias error and root-mean-square error are smaller than 30% at most stations, and most of the mean bias error values are negative, which indicates underestimation of the UV radiation intensity. These datasets can improve our basic knowledge of the spatial and temporal variations in UV radiation. | 7 | Distinct enhancer signatures in the mouse gastrula delineate progressive cell fate continuum during embryo development显示文摘Primary germ layers have the potential to form all tissues in the mature organism,and their formation during gastrulation requires precise epigenetic modulation of both proximal and distal regulatory elements.Previous studies indicated that spatial and temporal patterns of gene expression in the gastrula predispose individual regions to distinct cell fates.However,the underlying epigenetic mechanisms remain largely unexplored.Here,we profile the spatiotemporal landscape of the epigenome and transcriptome of the mouse gastrula.We reveal the asynchronous dynamics of proximal chromatin states during germ layer formation as well as unique gastrula-specific epigenomic features of regulatory elements,which have strong usage turnover dynamics and clear germ layerspecific signatures.Importantly,we also find that enhancers around organogenetic genes,which are weakly expressed at the gastrulation stage,are frequently pre-marked by histone H3 lysine 27 acetylation(H3K27ac)in the gastrula.By using the transgenic mice and genome editing system,we demonstrate that a pre-marked enhancer,which is located in the intron of a brain-specific gene 25W009E07Rik,exhibits specific enhancer activity in the ectoderm and future brain tissue,and also executes important function during mouse neural differentiation.Taken together,our study provides the comprehensive epigenetic information for embryonic patterning during mouse gastrulation,demonstrates the importance of gastrula pre-marked enhancers in regulating the correct development of the mouse embryo,and thus broadens the current understanding of mammalian embryonic development and related diseases. | Xianfa Yang Boqiang Hu Jiaoyang Liao Yunbo Qiao Yingying Chen Yun Qian Su Feng Fang Yu Ji Dong Yu Hou He Xu Ran Wang Guangdun Peng Jinsong Li Fucnou Tang Naihe Jing | 2019 | Cell Research2019,29,11: | 1 |

| 10 | MR-seq:measuring a single cell's transcriptome repeatedly by RNA-seq显示文摘We described a novel single-cell RNA-seq technique called MR-seq(measure a single-cell transcriptome repeatedly),which permits statistically assessing the technical variation and identifying the differentially expressed genes between just two single cells by measuring each single cell twice. We demonstrated that MR-seq gave sensitivity and reproducibility similar to the standard single-cell RNA-seq and increased the positive predicate value. Application of MR-seq to early mouse embryos identified hundreds of candidate intra-embryonic heterogeneous genes among mouse 2-,4-and 8-cell stage embryos. | 11 | Simple fabrication of carboxymethyl cellulose and k-carrageenan composite aerogel with efficient performance in removal of fluoroquinolone antibiotics from water显示文摘3D composite aerogels(CMC-CG)composed of carboxymethyl cellulose andκ-carrageenan were designed and fabricated using the one-pot synthesis technique.The optimized CMC-CG showed a good mechanical property and a high swelling ratio due to its superior textural properties with a proper chemically cross-linked interpenetrating network structure.CMC-CG was utilized for the removal of various fluoroquinolones(FQs)from water and exhibited high adsorption performance because of effective electrostatic attraction and hydrogen bonding interactions.Ciprofloxacin(CIP),a popular FQ,was used as the representative.The optimized CMC-CG had a theoretically maximal CIP uptake of approximately 1.271 mmol/g at the pH of 5.0.The adsorption capacity of CMC-CG was improved in the presence of some cations,Cu2+and Fe3+ions,at a low concentration through the bridging effect but was reduced at a high concentration.The investigation of adsorption mechanisms,based on the adsorption kinetics,isotherms and thermodynamic study,Fourier transform infrared spectrometry and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analyses before and after adsorption,and changes in the adsorption performance of CMC-CG toward two molecular probes,further indicated that electrostatic attraction was the dominant interaction rather than hydrogen bonding in this adsorption.CMC-CG after saturated adsorption of CIP could be easily regenerated using a dilute NaCl aqueous solution and reused efficiently.Moreover,the disused aerogel could still be reused as a new adsorbent for effective adsorption of Cu2+ion.Overall,this study suggested the promising applications of this composite aerogel as an eco-friendly,cost-effective,and recyclable adsorbent for thie efficient removal of FQs from water. | Na Li Boqiang Gao Ran Yang Hu Yang | 2022 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2022,16,10: | 0 |
