Robust stability analysis of singular linear system with delay and parameter uncertainty显示文摘This paper deals with th e problem of robust stability for continuous-time sin gular systems with state delay and parameter uncerta inty. The uncertain singular systems with delay consi dered in this paper are assumed to be regular and impulse free.By decomposing the systems into slow and fast subsystems,a robust delay-dependent asymptotic stability criteria based on linear matrix inequality is proposed, which is derived by using Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals, neither model transformatio n nor bounding for cross terms is required in the derivation of our delay-dependent result. The r obust delay-dependent stability criterion proposed in th is paper is a sufficient condition. Finally, numerical examples and Matlab simulation are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. | Renxin ZHONG Zhi YANG | 2005 | 控制理论与应用(英文版)2005,3,2: | 6

Electromagnetic Interference Shielding Properties of Electroless Nickel-coated Carbon Fiber Paper Reinforced Epoxy Composites显示文摘Carbon fibers(CFs) were coated with a nickel-phosphorus(Ni-P) film using an electroless plating process. The morphology, elemental composition and phases in the coating layer of the CFs were investigated by scanning electron microscopy(SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS) and X-ray diffraction(XRD), respectively. Wet paper-making method was used to prepare nickle coated carbon fiber paper(NCFP). Vacuum assisted infusion molding process(VAIMP) was employed to manufacture the NCFP reinforced epoxy composites, and carbon fiber paper(CFP) reinforced epoxy composites were also produced as a comparison. Electromagnetic interference(EMI) shielding properties of the composites were measured in the 3.22-4.9 GHz frequency range using waveguide method. Both NCFP and CFP reinforced epoxy composites of 0.5 mm thickness exhibited high EMI shielding effectiveness(SE) at 8wt% fiber content, 35 d B and 30 d B, respectively, and reflection was the dominant shielding mechanism. | 陈威 王钧 WANG Tao WANG Junpeng XU Renxin YANG Xiaoli | 2014 | Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2014,29,6: | 3
Searching for the Nano-Hertz Stochastic Gravitational Wave Background with the Chinese Pulsar Timing Array Data ReleaseⅠ显示文摘Observing and timing a group of millisecond pulsars with high rotational stability enables the direct detection of gravitational waves(GWs).The GW signals can be identified from the spatial correlations encoded in the times-of-arrival of widely spaced pulsar-pairs.The Chinese Pulsar Timing Array(CPTA)is a collaboration aiming at the direct GW detection with observations carried out using Chinese radio telescopes. This short article serves as a“table of contents”for a forthcoming series of papers related to the CPTA Data Release 1(CPTA DR1)which uses observations from the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope. Here, after summarizing the time span and accuracy of CPTA DR1,we report the key results of our statistical inference finding a correlated signal with amplitude logA_(c)=-14.4_(-2.8)^(+1.0)for spectral index in the range ofα∈[-1.8,1.5]assuming a GW background(GWB)induced quadrupolar correlation. The search for the Hellings–Downs(HD)correlation curve is also presented, where some evidence for the HD correlation has been found that a 4.6σstatistical significance is achieved using the discrete frequency method around the frequency of 14 n Hz.We expect that the future International Pulsar Timing Array data analysis and the next CPTA data release will be more sensitive to the n Hz GWB,which could verify the current results. | Heng Xu Siyuan Chen Yanjun Guo Jinchen Jiang Bojun Wang Jiangwei Xu Zihan Xue RNicolas Caballero Jianping Yuan Yonghua Xu Jingbo Wang Longfei Hao Jingtao Luo Kejia Lee Jinlin Han Peng Jiang Zhiqiang Shen Min Wang Na Wang Renxin Xu Xiangping Wu Richard Manchester Lei Qian Xin Guan Menglin Huang Chun Sun Yan Zhu | 2023 | Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2023,23,7: | 3
Causal propagation of signals in strangeon matter显示文摘The state equation for strangeon matter is very stiff due to the non-relativistic nature of its particles and their repulsive interaction, such that pulsar masses as high as~3 M_⊙ would be expected. However, an adiabatic sound speed, c_s=(?P/?ρ)~(1/2), is usually superluminal in strangeon matter, and the dynamic response of a strangeon star(e.g., binary merger) is not tractable in numerical simulations. In this study, we examined signal propagation in strangeon matter and calculate the actual propagation speed, c_(signal).We found that the causality condition, c_(signal)< c, is satisfied and the signal speed is presented as a function of stellar radius. | JiGuang Lu EnPing Zhou XiaoYu Lai RenXin Xu | 2018 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2018,61,8: | 1

Scientific objectives of the Hot Universe Baryon Surveyor(HUBS) mission显示文摘The Hot Universe Baryon Surveyor(HUBS) is a proposed space-based X-ray telescope for detecting X-ray emissions from the hot gas content in our universe. With its unprecedented spatially-resolved high-resolution spectroscopy and large field of view, the HUBS mission will be uniquely qualified to measure the physical and chemical properties of the hot gas in the interstellar medium, the circumgalactic medium, the intergalactic medium, and the intracluster medium. These measurements will be valuable for two key scientific goals of HUBS, namely to unravel the AGN and stellar feedback physics that governs the formation and evolution of galaxies, and to probe the baryon budget and multi-phase states from galactic to cosmological scales. In addition to these two goals, the HUBS mission will also help us solve some problems in the fields of galaxy clusters, AGNs, difuse X-ray backgrounds, supernova remnants, and compact objects. This paper discusses the perspective of advancing these fields using the HUBS telescope. | Joel Bregman Renyue Cen Yang Chen Wei Cui Taotao Fang Fulai Guo Edmund Hodges-Kluck Rui Huang Luis C.Ho Li Ji Suoqing Ji Xi Kang Xiaoyu Lai Hui Li Jiangtao Li Miao Li Xiangdong Li Yuan Li Zhaosheng Li Guiyun Liang Helei Liu Wenhao Liu Fangjun Lu Junjie Mao Gabriele Ponti Zhijie Qu Chenxi Shan Lijing Shao Fangzheng Shi Xinwen Shu Lei Sun Mouyuan Sun Hao Tong Junfeng Wang Junxian Wang Q.Daniel Wang Song Wang Tinggui Wang Weiyang Wang Zhongxiang Wang Dandan Xu Haiguang Xu Heng Xu Renxin Xu Xiaojie Xu Yongquan Xue Hang Yang Feng Yuan Shuinai Zhang Yuning Zhang Zhongli Zhang Yuanyuan Zhao Enping Zhou Ping Zhou | 2023 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2023,66,9: | 1
氯霉素及其产物降解菌群在长期驯化过程中的微生物群落和关键基因演替模式显示文摘As a widespread emerging contaminant, chloramphenicol(CAP)adversely impacts ecological communities in the water environment.Biological treatment is widely used for aquatic pollutant removal, and the performance of functional microbes determines its outcome.Herein,a consortium with a powerful CAPdegrading capacity was domesticated from activated sludge. As the common degradation products of CAP,4-nitrobenzoic acid(PNB)and 2,2-dichloroacetic acid(DCA)were also used as the sole substrates for long-term domestication. The successional pattern of the microbial community and critical functional genes through the 2.5-year domestication was revealed by metagenomic analysis.Sphingomonas,Caballeronia, and Cupriavidus became the most dominant populations in the CAP-,PNB-,and DCAdegrading consortia, respectively, and they were crucial degraders of PNB and DCA.Their collaboration contributed to the high mineralization rate of CAP.PNB was transformed into protocatechuic acid(PCA)and then mineralized through meta-cleavage and ortho-cleavage pathways.Crucial functional genes involved in CAP,PNB,and DCA metabolism, including CAP acetyltransferase,CAP oxidoreductase, haloacid dehalogenases, and protocatechuate dioxygenases, were significantly enriched in consortia.p H and carbon source had significant impacts on CAP biodegradation efficiency. The domesticated consortia and isolated strains are necessary microbial resources to enhance the bioremediation of CAP-,PNB-,or DCA-polluted environments. | Jiayu Zhang Kaiyan Zhou Fangliang Guo Huaxin Lei Renxin Zhao Lin Lin Xiaoyan Li Bing Li | 2023 | Engineering2023,31,12: | 0
Repeating fast radio bursts: Coherent circular polarization by bunches显示文摘Fast radio bursts(FRBs) are millisecond-duration signals that are highly dispersed at distant galaxies. However, the physical origin of FRBs is still unknown. Coherent curvature emission by bunches, e.g., powered by starquakes, has already been proposed for repeating FRBs. It has the nature of understanding narrowband radiation exhibiting time-frequency drifting. Recently, a highly active FRB source, i.e., FRB 20201124A, was reported to enter a newly active episode and emit at least some highly circular-polarized bursts. In this study, we revisit the polarized FRB emission, particularly investigating the production mechanisms of a highly circular polarization(CP) by deriving the intrinsic mechanism and propagative effect. The intrinsic mechanisms of invoking charged bunches are approached with radiative coherence. Consequently, a highly CP could naturally be explained by the coherent summation of outcome waves, generated or scattered by bunches, with different phases and electric vectors. Different kinds of evolutionary trajectories are found on the Poincaré sphere for the bunch-coherent polarization, and this behavior could be tested through future observations. Cyclotron resonance can result in the absorption of R-mode photons at a low altitude region of the magnetosphere, and an FRB should then be emitted from a high-altitude region if the waves have strong linear polarization. Circularly polarized components could be produced from Faraday conversion exhibiting a λ-oscillation, but the average CP fraction depends only on the income wave, indicating a possibility of a highly circular-polarized income wave. The analysis could be welcome if extremely high(e.g., almost 100%) CP from repeating FRBs is detected in the future. Finally, the production of a bulk of energetic bunches in the pulsar-like magnetosphere is discussed, which is relevant to the nature of the FRB central engine. | Wei-Yang Wang Jin-Chen Jiang Jiguang Lu Heng Xu Jiangwei Xu Kejia Lee Jifeng Liu Renxin Xu | 2022 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2022,65,8: | 0
Correlation between MEG and BOLD fMRI signals induced by visual flicker stimuli显示文摘The goal of this work was to investigate how the MEG signal amplitude correlates with that of BOLD fMRI. To investigate the correlation between fMRI and macroscopic electrical activity, BOLD fMRI and MEG was performed on the same subjects (n=5). A visual flicker stimulus of varying temporal frequency was used to elicit neural responses in early visual areas. A strong similarity was observed in frequency tuning curves between both modalities. Although, averaged over subjects, the BOLD tuning curve was somewhat broader than MEG, both BOLD and MEG had maxima at a flicker frequency of 10 Hz. Also, we measured the first and second harmonic components as the stimuli frequency by MEG. In the low stimuli frequency (less than 6 Hz), the second harmonic has comparable amplitude with the first harmonic, which implies that neural frequency response is nonlinear and has more nonlinear components in low frequency than in high frequency. | Chu Renxin Holroyd Tom Duyn Jeff | 2007 | 仪器仪表学报2007,28,4: | 0
Free Energy of Anisotropic Strangeon Stars显示文摘Can pulsar-like compact objects release further huge free energy besides the kinematic energy of rotation? This is actually relevant to the equation of state of cold supra-nuclear matter, which is still under hot debate.Enormous energy is surely needed to understand various observations, such asγ-ray bursts, fast radio bursts and softγ-ray repeaters. In this paper, the elastic/gravitational free energy of solid strangeon stars is revisited for strangeon stars, with two anisotropic models to calculate in general relativity. It is found that huge free energy(>10^(46)erg)could be released via starquakes, given an extremely small anisotropy((p_(t)-p_(r))/p_(r)~10^(-4),with pt/pr the tangential/radial pressure),implying that pulsar-like stars could have great potential of free energy release without extremely strong magnetic fields in the solid strangeon star model. | Shichuan Chen Yong Gao Enping Zhou Renxin Xu | 2024 | Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2024,24,2: | 0
Strong matter: Rethinking philosophically显示文摘As we continue to comprehend the underlying nature of matter in different forms, human civilization develops further.Normal matter in everyday life, the basic stuff of which was posited by speculators even before Socrates,is dominated by electromagnetic interaction, and it could hence be simply termed electric matter.Analogously, gravitationally controlled systems(e.g.,galaxies and galaxy clusters)belong to gravitational matter, and atomic nuclei to strong matter. | RenXin Xu | 2018 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2018,61,10: | 0
The Precursor of GRB211211A:A Tide-induced Giant Quake?显示文摘The equilibrium configuration of a solid strange star in the final inspiral phase with another compact object is generally discussed, and the starquake-related issue is revisited, for a special purpose to understand the precursor emission of binary compact star merger events(e.g.,that of GRB211211A).As the binary system inspirals inward due to gravitational wave radiation, the ellipticity of the solid strangeon star increases due to the growing tidal field of its compact companion.Elastic energy is hence accumulated during the inspiral stage which might trigger a starquake before the merger when the energy exceeds a critical value. The energy released during such starquakes is calculated and compared to the precursor observation of GRB211211 A.The result shows that the energy might be insufficient for binary strangeon-star case unless the entire solid strangeon star shatters, and hence favors a black hole-strangeon star scenario for GRB211211A.The timescale of the precursor as well as the frequency of the observed quasi-periodic-oscillation have also been discussed in the starquake model. | Enping Zhou Yong Gao Yurui Zhou Xiaoyu Lai Lijing Shao Weiyang Wang Shaolin Xiong Renxin Xu Shuxu Yi Garvin Yim Han Yue Zhen Zhang | 2024 | Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2024,24,2: | 0

Three flavors in a triangle显示文摘The coupling between elementary units, either weak or strong, determines the nature of matter controlled by different forces. As for three fundamental interactions(gravitational, electromagnetic, and strong),all the gauge bosons to mediate the forces are massless, and we may simply approximate the interaction energy at short distances with a Coulomb-like form of V=-αi/r,with r the separation between units. | RenXin Xu | 2020 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2020,63,11: | 0
Pulsar Discovery Prospect of FASTA显示文摘The Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(FAST)has discovered more than 650 new pulsars, which account for 20%of our known Galactic pulsar population. In this paper,we estimate the prospect of a pulsar survey with a radio telescope array to be planned—the FAST Array(FASTA),consists of six“FAST-type”telescopes.Such a sensitive radio telescope array would be a powerful instrument in probing the pulsar population deep into our Galaxy as well as in nearby galaxies. We simulate the FASTA pulsar discovery prospects with different Galactic pulsar population models and instrumental parameter combinations. We find that FASTA could detect tens of thousands of canonical pulsars and well-over thousands of millisecond pulsars. We also estimate the potential yield if the FASTA is used to search for pulsars from the nearby spiral galaxy M31,and find that it would probably discover around a hundred new radio pulsars. | Mengyao Xue Weiwei Zhu Xiangping Wu Renxin Xu Hongguang Wang | 2023 | Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2023,23,9: | 0
Revise Thermal Winds of Remnant Neutron Stars in Gamma-Ray Bursts显示文摘It seems that the wealth of information revealed by the multi-messenger observations of the binary neutron star(NS)merger event,GW170817/GRB 170817A/kilonova AT2017gfo,places irreconcilable constraints to models of the prompt emission of this gamma-ray burst(GRB).The observed time delay between the merger of the two NSs and the trigger of the GRB and the thermal tail of the prompt emission can hardly be reproduced by these models simultaneously. We argue that the merger remnant should be an NS(last for,at least,a large fraction of 1 s),and that the difficulty can be alleviated by the delayed formation of the accretion disk due to the absorption of high-energy neutrinos emitted by the NS and the delayed emergence of effective viscosity in the disk.Further,we extend the consideration of the effect of the energy deposition of neutrinos emitted from the NS.If the NS is the central object of a GRB with a distance and duration similar to that of GRB 170817A,thermal emission of the thermal bubble inflated by the NS after the termination of accretion may be detectable. If our scenario is verified,it would be of interest to investigate the cooling of nascent NSs. | Shuang Du Tingting Lin Shujin Hou Renxin Xu | 2023 | Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2023,23,9: | 0
Pulsar giant pulse: Coherent instability near light cylinder显示文摘Giant pulses(GPs) are extremely bright individual pulses of radio pulsar. In microbursts of Crab pulsar, which is an active GP emitter, zebra-pattern-like spectral structures are observed, which are reminiscent of the 'zebra bands' that are observed in type Ⅳ solar radio flares. However, band spacing linearly increases with the band center frequency of ~5-30 GHz. In this study, we propose that the Crab pulsar GP can originate from the coherent instability of plasma near a light cylinder. Further, the growth of coherent instability can be attributed to the resonance observed between the cyclotron-resonant-excited wave and the background plasma oscillation. The particles can be injected into the closed-field line regions owing to magnetic reconnection near a light cylinder. These particles introduce a large amount of free energy that further causes cyclotron-resonant instability, which grows and amplifies radiative waves at frequencies close to the electron cyclotron harmonics that exhibit zebra-pattern-like spectral band structures. Further, these structures can be modulated by the resonance between the cyclotron-resonant-excited wave and the background plasma oscillation. In this scenario, the band structures of the Crab pulsar can be well fitted by a coherent instability model, where the plasma density of a light cylinder should be ~10^(13-15) cm^(-3), with an estimated gradient of >5.5 × 10~5 cm^(-4). This process may be accompanied by high-energy emissions. Similar phenomena are expected to be detected in other types of GP sources that have magnetic fields of ? 106 G in a light cylinder. | WeiYang Wang JiGuang Lu SongBo Zhang XueLei Chen Rui Luo RenXin Xu | 2019 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2019,62,7: | 0
Advancing pulsar science with the FAST显示文摘As the rump left behind after an extremely gravity-induced supernova of an evolved massive star,a pulsar is made of cool CBM(i.e.,compressed baryonic matter at a low temperature).Pulsars are not only testbeds for fundamental interactions(e.g.,the nature of gravity[1]and of the strong force at low energies[2]),but also essential tools for detecting nanoHz gravitational waves[3].The pulsar science, whatever, usually depends on the measurement of pulsar radiation,e.g.,pulsar monitoring and timing.Additionally, searching new pulsars for further investigation is also an important focus of this research field.Pulsars have a very good showing, and have never stopped presenting surprises since the first discovery in 1967,because of the continuing development of advanced facilities. | JiGuang Lu KeJia Lee RenXin Xu | 2020 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2020,63,2: | 0
